[IDEA!!!!] HTC Sensation XE back-cover

I've decided that my next phone will be a HTC sensation, but what if we could buy a HTC sensation xe back cover, use it on an original sensation, then BAM! Red speaker grill, black back cover and beats audio logo printed on. That coupled with a custom ROM that gives you a beats audio profile will give you a sensation identical to a sensation xe except for the red LED lights and the higher capacity battery( you could buy high capacity battery).
So, what do you think?

I thought this was obvious? Lol
But yeah, I hope I can get a XE cover soon, I want to make the current one brushed aluminum

As soon I get the chance, I will do it!

I've heard it won't work. Something to do with the pins or the antenna on the back covers being different. But don't take my word for it lol

I think thats just the T-Mobile USA it applies to, as the antenna is different on the Sensation 4G

Go to ebay uk search 'htc sensation xe back cover' its the 8th or 9th one down it says 'ORIGINAL OEM HTC SENSATION XE BEATS AUDIO BLACK REAR BACK DOOR BATTERY COVER' It might be from hong kong but its a start, only £30 too!

i've been thinking about how to do this with a tmous sensation... and this is what i've found.... the XE back has a spot for the 4g contact... what do you guys think?

You can always purchase the new XE cover from ebay and pop off the top plastic piece and replace it with your original one so you can retain the antenna. The camera ring also pops off. The only difference would be the plastic will be two-tone from the bottom piece like the original sensation.

My Sensation is a Z710a (Australian model) It doesn't have the contact on the top left but does use 4G. It used to show a H but since changing to Coredroid, it shows 4G. (it also shows up as a Z710e now)If that missing contact is supposed to be the 4G antenna, how am I using 4G?
Also, what are the small contacts on the left about 2/3rd's of the way down? mine has 3

Hey whats up guys! I have T-Mobile and just got my White HTC Sensation housing from ebay. It came with only 3 antennas but just so you know, I still get 4G, Wifi and GPS. It works perfect! Also it actually got rid of the grip of death issue as well.

The best way is to use the original HTC Headset ans solder earbuds of your choise on it.

Would love to get a one, but too expensive

I got a hold of a pair. I know a lot of people here rip them for being overpriced and such, but they are a good pair of headphones. If you can find it cheaper than retail, like ebay or the like, then I say go for it. I own vmoda lp crossfades and they are my favorite over the ear, but for the in ear, this is a great second fav IMO.
I attached a pic. And comparing to stock earphones, it doesn't compare at all. The bass is def there. I am not a big bass fan, but it's def a plus compared to stock. And to have this answer and end calls this works great for me...until MIUI has it's BT issues fixed

i still got one unused in the box,

After some research, isn't "iBeats" fake? I mean, yeah they're actually called iBeats but the phones that come with the sensation are rebranded as "urBeats" Correct me if I'm wrong! I wouldn't get these at all!

The oringinal poster made a mistake.
iBeats is a earpiece that beats is selling which looks similiar to what HTC has bundled with their beats phones which is the urBeats we all know.
One key difference between iBeats and urBeats is the mic/control piece which in the iBeats case is diamond shaped while in urBeats is just normally round.
Soundwise I wouldn't know as I have not any access to either one of them.
Hope this clears the misunderstanding!

Should be the same, but that white one is the same price essentially. That seller you posted, doesn't ship to the US. Last I checked.

I bought them a week ago and were shipped. Hopefully I'll know what their like in a few days.

Sensation or Sensation XE ?

Hey guys,
how's it going Sensation-ers ?
as it reads, I wanna buy one of them, is the XE worth the extra money?
plus, will Sensation ROMs work on the XE?
btw, i used to be a Galaxy S user, then stupidly enough I bought HTC Titan .. WP7 suck! , big time, failure on both fronts, fun and practicality !,, just an awesome OS design.

BTW, I'm having the same question as you! Sensation XE is 33 eur more expensive than regular Sensation, but comes with good quality headphones i read somewhere? So are that headphones worth 33 eur if everything else is same? Have XE also stronger battery?

If u want to save more just buy the normal sensation but if u more too music go for XE,its bundle with beats earpiece i have both & lovin it!

how about the screen ?? ,, is it as washed as they say in reviews? I'm asking cause i know when you using it daily it's not the same .. so how's it from your point of view?

I have the XE and the screen looks great, although there is some text ghosting when scrolling through settings menu etc. Nothing that concerns me though.

There are 2 type of screen. If you got the AUO acer, then you got the vivid, pinkiest color, gosting issue and no wash a way screen. But if you got Sharp screen, you got screen with no vivid or pinkiest and gosting issue, but you got wash a way screen. Search thread about the two type screen on general section and you will understand it.

I thought there was the Sensation which was the Sensation 4G, the XE and the XL.

The Sensation 4G has an extra antenna in it to be able to use 4G. (Meaning there's an extra connector on the inside of the battery cover)
The Sensation & Sensation XE are both 3G only phones.

but the sensation "4g" is really just 3g, its HSPA+. I thought I read somewhere that the missing antenna has no effect whatsoever on reception/data.

Nope.
It's 3G like the regular Sensation.
It will fit on a Sensation 4G but like i said, one of the antennas won't connect to it like the rest.
I've seen a few people say that it doesn't make much difference, but others have said it means that you hardly get any signal. Have a look at some threads that talk about both phones and make a decision based on what you read.

I've had that beats cover on my phone for the last few weeks. I have a TMobile Sensation 4G. It works just fine with it

Any pictures of the black beats cover?

I have the white one and I get great 4g coverage and GPS wifi still works great. The best thing I can think of is that I don't have creaking on the bottom left anymore. The case fits better

Link for purchase?

Just to confirm, I currently own a Sensation XE and am on T Mobile USA. My son has a Sensation 4g. While true, the Sensation 4g case does have an extra connector in its back plate, I have swapped the back plates and was able to connect to T Mobile's network instantaneously with both.
I wouldn't worry about if I were you.

Ask yourself this..Is it really worth spending $30 on a back cover? I mean if your back cover is missing, then yeah its worth it. Otherwise not so much.
Although it does look pretty cool

haha, i have to agree, my back cover is chipped so bought a replacement on ebay for 13.99, just plain black.
now if the beats logo one was around $15 shipped, i would buy it but not for these $25-$30+ range

Most important... was it correct when you recieved it?

we will see i ordered it before 3 days it will take some time to get to serbia

I've got the white one but the problem with it is that you can easily see the dirt and if your hands have anything on them, even small marks of pen, they get put onto the white parts
