Hello all,
I was wondering if there was any way to change the accent color to a different color than the tiles? For example, if I set my accent color to black, the black tiles work well. However, searching with Bing highlights the keywords with the accent color..making them unreadable with black. So is there any way to change the text color in this case and keep the text a different color? I have a fully unlocked rom so any changes can be made. Thanks.
Read through the "custom theme" threads on the dev & hacking sub-forum, and possibly download some of the files in question and take a look at the settings they use. The accent color is actually only one of many parts of a theme, so (depending on what options are actually controllable - I haven't checked) you could possibly create a theme that used dark accent colors but a not-so-dark "text accent color" or similar?

If your are talking about the phone # text on the contact card, that's your accent/tile color. Accent/Tile color also is the color of toggle switches & the volume bar. Just change your Accent color. There's numerous threads about how to make a custom color via registry tweaks or a few apps that do it for you.
The op wants black tiles but the other accent color items to be a different color
It would be better to create custom black tiles and chose an accent color you want.
To create custom tiles/icons, go no further than to ask mr drkfngdrgnlrd above...

The very early versions of Advanceconfig had a bug where it changed the tile color but not the text color. If we could figure out how to do this "trick" then in theory this can work without the long and complex process of making special tiles that often break the app or require you to questionably obtain said app.
Some of the apps don't change the text color when I change the accent colors using the accent color app
the XDA app does this.

I've asked a few people around the forum about this and before I go into any more detail. Take a look at the gummy rom's settings. You have a color picker for the status bar/notification bar/time/battery. Now my question is, and I'm fully aware if you edit the status bar's pngs you have to do a reboot, but is there a way to integrate multiple color pickers to change other parts of the framework via home screen font color, menu font color, notification font color, status bar colors all right from the settings with an option to reboot after selecting the chosen color and color mod changed upon reboot?
It really isn't necessary to have a full theme support in these AOSP/AOKP/CM ROMs because most of the skins made for them suck major ass anyway.
All you need is one single option that will change the holo blue color across the system into another color. This includes all the status icons, the separator line as well as the dark background tint.
but instead, we have these skins that change some of these colors but not others, or they also apply a stupid tint to icons and stuff. So necessary!
See the attached image? That is ALL I need, I just opened it in Photoshop and adjusted its HUE. But instead, there are all these custom options to change the color of this, change the color of that... You can't just change the color of one element and not the others because then they won't match!
I feel like I'm missing something. I wanted a dark theme for my Pixel 2 and downloaded a handful of those themes. Everyone of them gets the notification dropdown background dark/black with the text still black. I do restart the phone after each theme I apply. I can't seem to find the setting to change the text color.
Edit: How can I add my screenshot as an attachment?
Does anyone know how to change the accent colors? Seems odd that there are a myriad of themes with all possible color combinations but no option to change the accent color manually. Thoughts?
The only way I've heard of is picking a theme with a accent color you like and then disabling/changing the rest of the theme. However I have not tried this myself only read about it. So I'm not completely sure if even that is possible.
Why they don't have accent color as an option by default is beyond me.
