One click rooting method in less than 2 minutes - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Root your phone without unlocking the bootloader. How? A new application called UnlockRoot does it all for you! Literally, all you need to do is download the UnlockRoot.exe, run it and enjoy your new rooted device. I can confirm that it is 100% working and took about 2 minutes from start to finish.
All you have to do is connect to your computer, enable USB debugging which is accessible through Settings>applications>devlopment>USB debugging
open UnlockRoot.exe and click root, after that it should take the comp. 1 min tounlock then 1 min to reboot then voila you have it rooted! You will then see the superuser app inside your app drawer. I recommend you to download busybox and titanium backup to have full control on your device. I've just rooted my xperia play and my wife's arc s using this method. Both of them are running v2.3.4 so this should work on older android versions.
If there will be an instance wherein your device didn't reboot automatically, manually restart your device. :

Have fun

Please leave a comment if it worked for you and please mention the device that you're using.

My optimus 3D also not successful. After clicked root, it was running to check the mobile and a box popup (this version is not support your phone and tell us to wait for upgrade), something like that. My device is version 2.3.5 and V20c.

i finally rooted my xperia neo v through this method, i experienced errors before, unlockroot can't detect my phone so i tried to adjust some settings. first make sure you have pc companion for the mtp drivers so that your phone will be detected, some computers can't download the drivers if you don't install pc companion first. also make sure that you enable usb debugging and connect your phone via media transfer mode (MTP). you can adjust the connection mode in the notification bar when your phone is already connected in the pc, just slide it down and click the "change connectivity mode" you will find the connectivity settings there

I am not able to root my Micromax A75 mobile. Please assist.

thanks for ever my frind this post is very goood

It worked on Sony ericsson Live with Walkman, Thank you

Rezound not detected
I tried this on an HTC Rezound ADR6425LVW, Android 2.3.4 and it immediately fails on trying to recognize the phone. I get a dialog box with blank boxes where the name should be. This phone got the updated GB push from Verizon. Not sure if that is the problem, but so far this doesn't seem to work. Currently I am running this in a Windows XP VM under Mac/Fusion. Not sure if that makes a difference, because HTC Synch can see and identify the phone just fine. Any hints?

[Q] Problems with rooting

Hello,
today I wanted to root my g3, because i flashed a stock firmware. Now with super one click it doesn't work anymore but many times before it always worked without any problems. Super one click says:"Waiting for device.." and after that nothing happens. So is there any other possibility to gain root acess??? My firmware is JPU and i flashed G3 Mod kernel 2.3.
Thanks in advance
Isn't g3mod prerooted already?
No, Superuser isn't installed. Set Cpu and Titanium Backup can't obtain root acess
There are also many other ways, I've read about it. But I ended at SuperOneClick also. Check this method out (rooting is on 3rd page, but try to take a look at previous, too). I see (from my FF internet history) that I've read it once...
And, please, tell if it worked

You probably did this since you already used Super one click but I will still ask...
Have you enabled USB debugging mode?
you can use unlock root if superoneclick don't work.for me it's the best for root
I'll write a little guide and you'll see if you forgot any steps...
1.) Activate USB debugging (settings > applications > development > USB debugging
2.) Unmount SD card (settings > sd and phone storage > unmount sd)
3.) Shut down phone
4.) Open superoneclick and connect phone to computer via usb
5.) Click ROOT
6.) When it says waiting for device turn on phone and wait
7.) Superoneclick should show msg "Your phone is rooted"
8.) As soon as it starts up, phone will be rooted and ready

I would assume none of these steps worked because the same happened to me once and I couldn't do anything
How to fix: make sure debugging is enabled on phone and put it away for now. Uninstall Kies and Samsung drivers and then re-install them. Now simply reinstall Kies and connect phone. Voila, you can now use super one click to root. (Make sure you use 'rage against the cage for old version and auto for new )
I think g3mod is indeed pre-rooted and it isn't recognized bij superoneclick (I think). You just have to install superuser from the market. This works for me. It only takes some time the first time superuser access was asked.
The G3 Mod Kernel is really not rooted
-> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1252698
The G3 Mod ROM however is
-> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1252719
Easy to mix in mind.
T1ll is using stock ROM with G3 Kernel.
-> no root by default

This happends to me too, but I didn't enable USB debuging mod.
I have another probelm with SuperOneClick, as I try to download it my NOD32 antivirus detekts some trojan virus inside, so I would it not recomend anymore!!!
I just rooted my i5800 XXJPS with Unlock Root application.
After I finished with rooting, the instruction was to restart my phone, and than
my phone started to flash white light.
I had to take battery out, and than I started my phone.
It worked, the rooting was succesufull, but I don't now why my phone started to flash???
just give a f*ck to any virus scanner warning on your pc
its an exploit (!), so the virus warnings are consequent
do it or let it be
or
use a CR, they are all (?) prerooted

yes, i got that problem in JPU too.....just try "rageagainstthecage"

So I take it the Droid 2 Global is impossible to root?

Okay I have searched and searched through these forums through and through and there is no possible way the root a Droid 2 Global. I have tried all the ways listed here Pete's way the One Click and the Superone Click and I tried Z4root and that didn't work either! Is there a new way to do this???(When I had my HTC Eris that was unrootable too.) I think Im gonna give up and on my next upgrade I'll probably just get an iPhone 4s or something, because any phone I touch will before outdated and unrootable and unable to flash any of the cool custom roms and play emulators and crap. I'll just an iPhone 4s and talk to siri.
Thanks anyway for all the help guys and thanks developer for all your hard work!!!

Z4root will NOT work on stock 2.3.3. I've been using a Droid 3 one click root tool for linux and it's been working without fail. I've noticed this tool also works on the regular D2. Z4root will only work with the original stock.
EDIT: As far as cool roms, I'm using MIUI ICS. You like ICS but don't want to spend 700 bucks for an off contract phone? That's right. Your D2G runs it just fine lol.
MIUI isn't really ICS. It's just bits and pieces of the framework.

Nothing. Once it finds the phone and the rooting process begins it will say running expoit 1 of 3 (setting up symlink) and it will remain at the reboot screen forever!
my phone says:
Bootloader DO.11
Battery OK
OK to program
Transfer Mode:
USB
then nothing happens!
This time I got the "server not running" error!
Make sure your phone is set to PC mode with USB debugging on. I usually have to run the script twice. The first time it doesn't do anything. End it and start it again and it works for me every time.
Also, as far as MIUI ICS, it's technically android 2.3.7 but it's still ICS to me lol. It's enough like it to make me happy.

I just tried the latest version of SuperOneClick and again with this screen on my phone:

Battery OK
OK to program
Transfer Mode:

I'm starting to think somehow that this screen somehow not allowing me the further root my phone! With the SuperOneClick the program running and then immediately stopped responding!
Any ideas?
what is the latest version?
I thought you just need it in usb charge mode and have usb debugging on

1. Make sure you have Motorola drivers installed.
2. Download and unzip 'MotorolaOneClickRoot_psouza4'
3. On your phone: Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging(check box)
4. Plug phone into computer and select "Charge Only" mode
5. Navigate to 'MotorolaOneClickRoot_psouza4' folder and run 'MotorolaOneClickRoot.exe'
6. Now just follow the instructions in the command window and unlock the phone after each reboot.
For Windows XP users having trouble try this -> v7 .bat One Click

Hi,
i am definitely not an expert, in fact everything i know about android i learned from reading other people's threads but i managed to root my droid 2 global yesterday using superoneclick.
the first time i tried to run it the program froze up in the middle of the process and wouldn't do anything, including close. while i was trying to figure out how to fix i came across a post that said to start the program while usb debugging is off and then turn it on when it says waiting for device so i tried that and it actually worked. go figure.
i have no idea if it will work for you or not but i thought i would share in case you wanted to give it a try.

HTCDev root Unlock issue

Hi,
Since ICS update I have been going insane with the speed of my phone, and today I saw my friends Desire HD running Jelly Bean and it was flying. So naturally I have spent the last 5 hours reading up on how to get it!
I'm an absolute noob with Android, this is my first android and I my other smart phones ran windows 5.5 and 6.5 so however buggy the new OS it can not beat them.
I am confused about a couple of things and I have found many many guides that go in circles. my HBOOTS 1.29
1. Do I need S-off or do I just need my device rooted?
I have found the following guides that seem the most effective:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1661631
2. What is Flashing Firmware and why do I need to do it?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1472298
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1377759
3. It seems the best ROM is this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1782009
Are there anything better?
I don't care about looks, I want the usual phone features, speed, GPS, better battery life and bluetooth connectivity to my external Pressure Variometer (I use it for Paragliding). I don't care about issues with Wifi!
Many Thanks and sorry for repeating previous posts at times
You have 2 options. 1.) S-OFF your device, following the guide you linked. It opens up the whole phone, so after that you can do whatever you would like to. (Recommended)
2.) Unlock your bootloader through HTCDEV.COM website. (If you choose this, you can still install custom roms, but are unable to flash firmware/radio. For more info how to install custom roms with s-on see HERE)
Flashing the newest firmware is "always" an extra. They all come with stability/performance/radio... enhancement. ICS firmwares are 3.32 or 3.33. Whichever you have installed on your device, you are good to go as all recent ICS and Jelly Bean roms are working under both firmware. Some of them recommend 3.33 but are still working on 3.32. As far as I know 3.33 comes with newer radio...?
Rom-wise... It is really up to you what you are looking for and what you expect from your phone. Have a look around in the development section, there are plenty of custom roms/kernel about, either it is aosp/cm or sense based roms. They are all excellent and come with amazing support.
Have fun and good luck! :good:
edit: Have a look HERE too for some more info!
S-on/off
Is it possible to install a ROM on the phone with S-on and on the new rom later turn S-off if required. As I mentioned I'm new so I want to do one step at a time.

LINK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9x7AY7o2gU
All the tools needed are in the video description, and I will try to answer all your questions both in the Youtube comments or here in this post.
Happy Easter and enjoy root!
(and sorry for my english )
Nice tutorial but Im having a little problem.
Today I was trying to root my M2 Aqua (D2403) with your old tutorial and now I tried with this again.
So, the problem is that when I flash JB kernel the phone turn on normally, not in bootloop then root xperia toolkit doesnt work.
Also tried with only ftf kernel of another thread and turned on in bootloop but flashtool and root xperia tool kit doesnt recognize the phone, maybe drivers?
I had problem installing the drivers on Windows 8.1 but worked in flashmode.
Thanks for tutorial and help.
Good tutorial! I think this will help people who have problems rooting their phone

First, you installed the drivers with driver signature check turned off right? (From advanced reboot in windows..)
I think you might try as I did in the video, I mean, when preparing the phone, connect yours (while still in KK, still haven't flashed the JB kernel) and then open flashtools and check if you have any warning of adb. If so, hit REMEMBER (very important STEP) and then hit OK. This is because while in JB there's no screen so you cannot accept that petition. That's the reason.
After done that, try with THIS kernel. I know some people used it and it worked. Flash it, boot your device, wait for about 5 minutes, connect your phone and open the RootXperiaToolkit. Let's see if it works now

Yes, I installed with signature check off. I used drivers from Flashtools 1.5
Also checked remember adb warning and I guess its weird, when I flashed using full rom the phone turn on and initiliaze normally as if I had not flashed the old kernel.
The kernel I told get bootloop is that you posted now.
I did exactly as on video but when phone is in bootloop the Root Xperia Toolkit doesnt recognize it and Flashtools(opened just to check) say the drivers arent installed.
I will try in another OS, thanks. :good:
