Just curious if anyone here is having problems with lines and spots in the screen on low brightness in a dim room? It looks kind of like brushed metal. I found another site with alot of people talking about it and it sounds like alot of people have it. Its not too bad on my screen but if its a known problem I didn't want to take the chance of exchanging it if I might get one its worse on! You can see it really well with a black background

Here's a thread devoted to the issue. No cure though. I've never noticed them but I get the impression they affect all our devices the same, just have to 'look' for them

I had some spots on mine when I bought it. Exchanged it right away. It was suuuuper mild but I was like "F that!!" and exchanged it. No issues now
Yeah I exchanged mine but still have the same issue.

not affect the phone or the touch, but it is annoying. Playing with the fingers and the thumb appears to move away like water, but then returns to the site

i have seen a bunch of threads around here about people having the same problem...
this is a manufacturing defect...and its called as newton's ring.
couple of threads for you reference:

if you have insurance/warranty from your wireless service provider, you should ask for a replacement..or you should try contacting HTC..and ask for replacement(contacting htc...you might be charged extra)
thats not the same :S, because I have a full image perfect on screen :S
it is called as newton rings...
as far as i know, it is called a newton rings...some where here one of the member actually took the device apart and cleaned the screen...
anyways please search for "newton rings in touch pro 2"...and you will come across many threads..
i pulled the pic below from a xda thread that i randomly came across..

So its bothering the hell out of me right now. It doesnt look like a dead pixel, I see it when the screen is off. So its more like a piece of dirt stuck between the screen and the glass.
Its mainly bothering me since its a brand new device.. Should I just settle or do I bother to go back and exchange it?
I've never dealt with Sprint CS before. Any tips? Can I just walk in and ask for an exchange? I'm not the main account holder though, my sister is.
If you go to a corporate store they order a new one. Good thing for you since this phone is new that you probably get a new one and not a refurb. They will run test and probably ask you to do a hard/soft reset to see if that fixes it. But you SHOULDNT have a problem.

Hm sounds good.
What counts as a corporate store though? Any of the big yellow sprint-only stores?
Theres one near my campus but I dont know if I trust it, shady neighborhood haha.
I'll drop by and see what they say though.
I bought a Galaxy Note 10.1 yesterday and I was using my note today and I started to realize a black mark appearing on the screen and growing. I had the note perched between my thumb and hand right where this mark was appearing and it looked like I was putting pressure on the screen from behind. Is this a known problem? The other thing I was wondering is I just rooted and installed Hyperdrive along with the overclocked kernel, could the processor be over heating and causing a mark on my screen? Otherwise I did buy this tablet returned from Staples and they assured me it was restored to a new condition and this has been a problem all along and I just didn't realize it. Any thoughts on what could have caused this to happen? I am still under warranty and have 13 days to return it to Staples. I really like this tablet and I am hopping that I just got a bad one.
Photo attached. This photo greatly dramatizes the problem.

Have it replaced.
I have not seen this happen at all. Could just be a defective unit.
Yeah, replace it. I have 2, bought one for my brother and also a friend. None of them have this on it....
I've had the phone for a month now, and I just noticed there's these circles when taking videos and pictures. Is this a hardware issue? I flashed CM11 a week ago so could this be software?

I was referring to the inside of the lense, I would RMA it since it's a pretty obvious fault and quite distracting in the pictures once you notice it.

My friend's samsung note had an issue with the display recently and she said that it had happened before (like some months ago) and she managed to get it fixed at the repair shop rly cheap, but this time round she had the same issue and when she brought it to them they asked her to change the LCD which would cost much more (close to 50USD??)
she can't afford it cuz her financials arent really doing great, and i was wondering if anyone could help ??
she didnt get it fixed and it kinda magically fixed by itself but a few days later it went back to that^ again and i am slightly skeptical of it being an LCD issue
i checked many threads with similar display issues but i couldnt find pictures of how the screen looks like in those cases... but many people said it was just a flex cable/LCD cable issue
anyone has any similar encounters?? is it fixable by replacing the cable (since its much cheaper to replace i heard)
her screen is like blue/purpleish and doesnt really seem to have any blurry issues whatsoever apart from the colours being really off
