I currently have a trusty hero on sprint I'm looking to upgrade soon but idk what I want I do not want a Samsung phone because of past experience so is thr a phone coming up I should wait for or should I just grab the evolution 3d for 99.99?

Get the Motorola Photon 4G, trust me you will not be disappointed.
I initially really wanted the Galaxy SII since at the time I had an evo 4G and a Galaxy Tab 10.1 and loved them. I was also following the rumors of the next google nexus (codename Nexus Prime at the time) possibly coming to sprint in in Q4 and then I really really wanted that but my evo had finally given out. I wanted a new phone so I went to sprint planning to get the galaxy s2 but wasn't do for another month or two. I was going to grab an evo 3d as a place holder till the galaxy came out but, they were out of stock or not do for another week too and saw the Photon. I decided to get it as sort of a place holder till the Evo3d was available then after a month with that the galaxy would've come out and I would have been able to exchange it within the 30 day window . I've never been a motorola fan whatsoever (was strictly HTC kind of guy and liking samsung cause of the tab) and was actually kind of bummed that I had to walk out with a Motorola phone. After having it for about a week I had completely fallen in love with it, so much so that I didn't even want an evo 3d, when the Galaxy SII came out I was like fk that'll be a downgrade from the photon and couldn't find any reason what so ever to switch phones. When the Galaxy Nexus initially came out, (even though I know it's not on sprint) I also couldn't find a good enough reason to want to upgrade when It does get released on sprint.
I absolutely love my Photon and can see myself actually holding onto this for the next 2 years which I've never even considered with past phones. It's got Great consistent signal, the longest battery life of ANY smartphone I've owned and haven had a single problem with it. Even on the stock rom, I didn't have the need to flash custom roms just to get it to work correctly or get better battery life or to make it faster, it was just all that straight out of the box. I only rooted Initially to use a few root apps that I always use. I recently started flashing custom roms but only because I WANTED to, not because I NEEDED TO.
Just take a look at the the other phones forums and then the photon section and you'll see barely any complaints or bytching about the photon we all just love it. You will not be disappointed, I promise you that.

I honestly don't plan on upgrading any time soon, unless maybe the Photon 2 is released and even then, It would be an upgrade because I would want to, not because I would have to. I love my MoPho
MoPhoACTV Initiative

Don't really know why not a samsung phone but from an owner of an HTC Hero , and an EVO 3D for a couple of week I can assure you the SGSII Epic 4G Touch wont dissapoint you its really the best phone i've owned but if not I would recomend to wait until a month or two after the MWC when all the supposed quad-cores and 720 displays come, i assure you an htc will arrive within a month after that right now i wont recomend the EVO 3D except for the dev

I don't want a Samsung product because ive had issues with their customer service and products (OG galaxy tab,SGS 1) just not a fan of the company personally

Considering the spec sheet shows HSPA+ bands, it could very well be a T Mobile phone, also considering the other 3 major US carriers are in the process of or already have rolled out LTE networks.

I was hoping that something comparable would come to sprint after MWC
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using xda premium

Go with the Galaxy SII.
Never go Motorola over Samsung.
Seeing as the Photon is the only thing comparable.
I sell a lot of both of those phone and I only see the Photons coming back.
And I am super happy with my GSII.

i think im gona wait til after mwc at the end of the month just to see whats upcoming i wana get a tegra 3 phone i think im not sure hopefully a new htc device coes out with tegra 3, sense 4.0, ics, and beats audio thats my dream phone..oh yeah and sprints new LTE network!

[Q] Best Android Smart Phone

Hi all, I just wanted to post a quick question. I'm looking to upgrade from my sad Kyocera Zio M6000 to a top of the line, best in the market, Android smart phone. I thought I was going to get the HTC Thunderbolt until I spoke with my sister who works for Verizon and she said to hold off because it's having issues right now with switching from 3G to 4G. So I wanted to check here and see what you all think right now is the best, top of the line android smart phone out there. The most powerful, can handle -ANY- games out on the market, can record HD video, has 2 way camera, all the bells and whistles and is going to last me liekly years before I even think about getting a new one. I made a mistake getting my Zio and I've been regretting it for 10 months now and I don't want to make that mistake again. I plan to play game son it, watch movies,.. everything on it .. I appreciate all your responses and thank you for your time! ")

Samsung Galaxy S 2.
there are loads of good phone out there, but it depends on what you want to do with it, as lot of people root there phone and put custom roms on there.
if i was you i would wait for something like the HTC Pyramid or if you really want a android handset then go for the Samsung Galaxy S 2, but it is upto you mate.
Best Android phone in the market: The one YOU can wait for.
Right now, Galaxy II.
Soon, stay tuned.
If playing games is important to you, though not the best, you should be getting the "Playstation Certified" Xperia Play that opens you up to those Playstation titles on top of the normal Android ones, and you get a near PSP controller that you don't get anywhere else.
Google Nexus S i think
if you can, wait for the Nexus 3
ok maybe I should have qualified this with 1 other thing, a phone I can order service for and setup this week or next. I like the idea of the Galaxy S2, but last I looked it's not out till the fall and I need to replace mine right now lol.
LG p990 i think :O
for me there is no better idea than my desire at the moment

What are everyone's opinions of the HTC Thunderbolt? I keep considering that one as well due to the fact it seems to be the top of the line right now from Verizon. And yes Monty, I am in the US.
Heard lots of good things about the thunderbolt and it has some pretty great dev support. If I could pick any Verizon phone right now the thunderbolt would be it.

Galaxy Gio
Well I have this one, more because of size and weight than anything else. Of course all those 4 inch 800x480 + displays and dual cores are better but are also bigger, and tend to drain battery faster.
Anyway I would love to have something in the same size as the Gio but with the "power" of Galaxy SII

[Q] Need help deciding which phone to get.

I'm looking to buy a new phone sometime in the near future, but thought I would get some feedback from you all here. I have a HTC Droid Eris now which I hate, and been having problems with flashing ROMS and a bunch of other things. Anyways, to the point.
I'm looking at a few different one's right now.
1) Thunderbolt
2)Motorola Droid Bionic
3)Samsung Galaxy S2
?) LG Revolution
Just would like feedback from you all please.
Thanks for all your time and comments.
By far galaxy s 2 is the all around best. What provider?
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
It will be Verizon.
Yeah, the gsII blows the other phones away. If money isn't much of an issue and you can wait a couple (?) months, then definitely go for the gsII.
Yup. Word around the blogsphere is that US will be getting 1.4 ghz gs2's. Bionic might be nice if it comes out soon. Revolution isn't so great. And thunderbolt has awful battery life.

Thanks all. I think I can wait a few months and maybe thrown the cash out, maybe an work a deal for a new 2 year agreement for the G S2. Anyone have an idea as to when it's coming out and the $$$?
If your decision are stuck with Verizon on caming July new plan hhmmm. LG revolution is best

You think so? i don't have battery issues with my bolt as long as I plug it in on my way to work, while at the office, on my way home, overnight.....
If I don't go for the galaxy s2, which would be the next best phone to get with verizon?
Samsung's great -- as long as you don't have to use KIES (which is only good for firmware updates IMO -- at least, that's the only thing I use it for); I'm happy with every Samsung device I own (smartphone, tablet, television, a few other things)
Gonna be several HOT new phones by years endl.
I keep reading about several new phones due this year. Most promise to beat anything we have now. I love my Eris running GSB 3.6. Only thing slow about it is loading web pages, other than that it is a great little phone.
I'm still up in the air on which phone to get if any suggestions after the Samsung G2
Hey guys & gls
I'm Sprint premium customer. now time to change my EVO 4g which one is best from EVO 3D or Motorola photon ?
I know a both phones have dual core . Please I need help to decided
Thank you in advance

if you want to pay get the galaxy s2
Samsung galaxy s2 is great.
i would go for s2 on phone with dual core processor or thunderbolt if you live in 4g zone
++ Samsung Galaxy S2 ... it's lovely.
So far I'm using Galaxy S, and I'm loving this machine, if I had money, I've defenitivly buy SGS2.
I think it will between the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the Motorola Droid Bionic, but need to get better reviews and comparisons when they both are out.

[Q] How long will the Infuse 4G hold up?

How long do you guys think the Infuse 4G will last in the Market of ever improving phones? Will it last the next few years, say until an upgrade is eligible? Or will it simply fall apart compared to upcoming phones in the next few years? Personally, I love my Infuse, and I think it'll last at least a year to three in terms of specs and software. Please, discuss.
Ok, this is one thing you need to learn when it comes to new phones / laptops/ technology in general. In a year, IT WILL BE OUTDATED. I got the Samsung Captivate and could not imagine a better phone ---besides it's constant GPS issues and until the charging port broke on it...but that was partly my fault. I got this phone and it is great as well--even better than the Captivate. At the time, I did not think that was possible.
The thing you want to do is buy a quality product for the time. The Infuse is one of those things. If you take good care of it, it will last you. I fell off of my bike a few weeks back going downhill. I was pretty banged up. My Infuse, even though it was in a case, got pretty banged up--- cosmetically around those silver edges. It is fully functioning otherwise. It is a solid product. It will last you a long time if you don't abuse it.
For example -- -I still have the Samsung Blackjack 2 as my backup phone and I use it when my "newer and better" phones give me problems. I've had it for forever. It is still a good phone despite being years old. You have a decent phone now--- we all do, as far as the Infuse is concerned. I haven't heard too many complaints, but only time can tell if that will change. Treat it well and it will remain good to you.
The sg2 looks identical to the infuse(slightly smaller on at&t) , except with a better resolution and much better cpu, so I think the infuse will be obsolete when the sg2 hits the states. Nevertheless, I love my infuse and I think it's one of the best phones out right now.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA App
I'm just asking if you guys think it'll last the above-average Android user the next few years. I know it's already outdated. It was probably outdated before it even came out.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA App
depends on the user. there isnt much the phone can't do but it depends on samsung releasing updates and on the community to put out quality mods. to be honest with a good rom a droid could still be a viable phone. my friend has a nexus1 and loves it. i actually kinda envy it, i love the screen and media capabilities on samsung phones but as a phone the nexus is perfect and there is no reason it should need to be anything more.
i have a phone lust though. i will likely get the sgsiii or whatever comes after the sgsii long before my contract is up.
The Infuse right now is still the absolute best phone on AT&T.
And will stay that way till the SGS 2 comes out....

Sgs2 and infuse have the same resolution. 480x800 wvga.
I was looking at the specs of Galaxy II and the one thing I won't switch my infuse for is battery. It has 1600mA while Infuse has 1750mA. So when it comes to dual CPU, it should drain battery down pretty bad. I mean why will you ever even use that power on the phone unless you compute rocket science data using it. 4G also has a big mouth for drinking the juice out of your phone.
I'm not trying to say it is horible, it just would be a major concern if I'm a heavy data user.

phones are always out of date typically within 6 months of being released there will be a higher end phone, with few exceptions. (i use to sell phones personally)
anyways, i had a samsung captivate which was the best phone when it came out, currently out of date, but it broke i payed money throuh insurance and luckily they were out so i got an infuse. very happy so far, and i can save my upgrade, im going to wait till i get a high spec (probably htc) lte phone

The phone is already outdated when you bought it, but that is the rule with all tech lol. Will it last 5 years. If you take care of it sure but will it still be getting upgrades. Most likely not sense we are seeing higher and higher system requirements to run the newer updates.
It is confirmed the nexus S will get the ics update, hardware wise there's no reason the infused couldn't handle the update also. It's up to att and Sammy.

I am not saying it couldnt handle it, just saying that after the first OS update I would not look for any others. IF it gets 1 more after that then it will be lucky. As for the Nexus S, I had great hopes for it but then I found the Nexus S was by samsung and thought ok ill wait for the next and not the new prime may be a samsung as well so looks like ill wait till the next nexus is an HTC. But if it is a samsung or HTC as long as the phone is bought through ATT dont expect to get the same number of updates as the Euro versions of the same phone. They always will get more updates then its US counter parts. As always been the case and always will be.
This is why the nexus line is a safe bet typically, as it is 'googles' phone, the updates are fast and frequent. The S is a Sammy, but no need to wait on them making the updates play nice with tw .

Sure it's a real solid phone, but if you're upgrading from the carrier and getting their discount I'd go for newer technology personally. I won't be replacing my inspire till it dies or I find a ROM that needs a faster processor, but I don't think i'd actually buy one new.
Honest opinion, as much as I'd like to get a new phone (one x), my inspire suplies me with everything I expect from a smartphone, but if I were to upgrade from, say a OG Droid or something from those parameters, I'd get a newer phone.
I've had my Inspire since Feb 2011 and I still love it. Since you can probably get one for next to nothing now, it's a great buy. But I agree that if I was going to upgrade right now I'd get one of the newer devices to maximize my discount.
Inspire 4G
I have had my inspire since June of last year. It was my first Android phone coming from an iPhone and I love it. It does everything I ask of it and is very hackable. I have lost track long ago of the number of different Roms I have try ed on it and it seems to keep getting better. And since I will not be able to get an upgrade from AT&T till January I'll just keep trucking with it and enjoying it.
I traded my Titan 2 for an Inspire (+ cash) and I'm so happy. The phone is EXCELLENT! To me, the default GB ROM with Sense was super ugly and reminded me of my old HD2 when it was running on Windows 6.5. So within an hour of having the phone, I rooted it and put ICS on it and I can proudly say, the Inspire is here to stay .
I sold my new galaxy note for 500$ and bought an inspire for 160$.... I'm happy with the decision
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA
I thoroughly enjoy this phone, but with all of the new and fancier ones coming out, I would lean towards those. Then again I like to mess with things a lot, so if you're looking simply for a solid phone, the Inspire definitely fits that description.
I enjoy the phone if you one of those people like me who doesn't mind not having a front camera then I'd say go for it I've personally flashed a ics ROM but that's just me
Sent from my Desire HD using xda premium
For a phone of this age (by today's standards), it still is a worthy device. I had my phone running stock for the first 6 or 7 months i had it. Didn't slow down at all. And the amount of development going into it is pretty crazy so there's no way you can get bored once you root
It's a good phone, one of the best that I ever had.
Also I ear good news from HTC that the HTC desire HD (sister of the Inspire) will be receiving the ICS update!!! And hopefully, one of the developers will be able to port this into to the HTC Inspire 4g
I have a HTC Inspire 4G and it still is a really good Phone; However, better phones have become or will become available in the near future. It really comes down to your preference. Samsung, HTC, and Motorola all have really good phones out now so search around and find a phone that fits your needs and get that one.

Lost my beloved Inspire 4G, what to get next?

After almost two years with my Inspire, I'm very sad to have lost it, up til the end on jellytime was awesome and it was a new era.
Now I need to get a new phone, and the market seems overwhelming. I saw the developer RandomBlame from Jellytime being pretty happy with the nexus 4, but I'm not so sure I can live without a SD card slot.
I'm interested in reading about experiences from other people who for one reason or another have migrated from an Inspire/DHD to something else.
You guys who used to love you're Inspire/DHD, what phone made you equally or more happy? What phone do you regret going for thinking it would compensate for the ACE you had?
Happy New Year, D.
Sorry about your loss...my condolences.

That sucks that you lost it. When looking I had my list narrowed down to three phones: HTC One X, Samsung Note 2, and Samsung Galaxy SIII. All three have good specs but it is up to you what you prefer more. I decided the Note series was just too big. I would have to use two hands to operate it and figured if I was going to do that I would buy a tablet first. Loved the HTC but the killer for me was the lack of SD card expansion and the lack of changing out the battery. Ultimately the S3 was my final choice. Love it so far. Had it rooted by the second day and have been cruising along with it for over a month now.
I'm hearing that there will be an SGS4 coming in April 2013.

I love my inspire as well, however even using the cyanogrnmod 10.1 unofficial sporting android 4.2.1 isn't enough to compensate for poor battery performance. I have had the phone around a year. I think I am sold on getting the Galaxy Note 2. With its huge battery and juggernaut hardware specs I could get two or three years use out of it. Not to mention it has an SD card slot which I too love.
