Sound popping/cracking - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Has anyone else had any issues with their phone plugged into an auxiliary port and the sound popping coming out of the speakers? It happens in my car all the time with my phone only, it happened when I plugged into a jawbone jambox.
It's pretty annoying, just curious if it's a known issue with the skyrocket.

I'm not sure if it's the jambox. I first noticed it in my car. Then through my bluetooth. I've used other phones in my car that worked just fine. I returned my jambox anyway, I'll give it another try when I get my note.

[Q] Sound blaring from speakers when when plugged into earphones

What is up with that? At the coffee shop and played a newsclip fron cbs app with my earphones on. Halfway through i realize through the vibration to my hands and the various people starting at me that sound is playing through both the speakers and earphone. I about died.
These bugs are adding up pretty quickly.
Anyone else having this issue?

I hooked mine up to my stereo and had no problems. Speakers on the TF shutoff and got a headphone icon in the notification area.

I've seen that happen before. LOL People can be so judgmental... (I was actually next to the person and I just started laughing)
Anyway, are you sure the headphones were plugged in all the way? I've had that happen multiple times where they were only plugged in half-way.
I had that happen on my iphone once. Unfortunately I was playing Meco's Disco Star Wars tune on a NYC subway. Really loud. Was getting all sorts of looks and laughs. Talk about major embarrassment.

Galaxy S3 cracking noise in headset

Is anyone else receiving intermittent crackling sounds when playing music while using a headset or not. Any ideas?
Nope, everything sounds perfect to me. It could be something wrong with the headphones, headphone jack or the music app that you are using. If the problem persists, I would just use my warranty and get a new one.

Totally agree, power amp is simply the best

i am having the same crackling/pop noise issue when i tried to do BT audio streaming on my samsung galaxy s3, i have used my PC's BT 3.0 as well as the BT 2.1 Audio Receiver but they all exhibited the same problem. this seems like a problem with the BT driver, or audio profile in the phone.

Thanks, Will keep that In mind If I ever do use my headsets for the S3 also If I do experience the pop/crackle issue.
I get the same crackle from time-time with the standard music player. I also use MOG, and have never experienced it there.
I just got an S3 32gb for VZW. Almost freaked out it crackled horribly when going into screen save mode. It did this with the same mp3's Ive had for years on numerous devices & with the speaker, wired/bluetooth headsets. Tried all the power settings etc no help. Poweramp fixed it! Thank you
My friend had the same issue so he just used a different music player and the cracking noise is gone.

Loud Speaker problem??

Hey everyone well the other day getting out of my car, the infamous lap drop getting out happened to me. I have a case on it but it didn't help. Picked it up and works but later noticed the loud speaker sounds staticy when it plays sounds, videos, and whatever... Anyone know how I can fix this? Someone told me it's a motherboard issue which I doubt that as I use it normally without a problem and deal with the staticy ring tones. But maybe someone can advise me can diagnose the problem to eliminate a motherboard issue and just a loud speaker issue. Thanks

Nexus 5 Audio Leak from Speaker with Headphones connected?

Hey guys, I know the title sounds weird but has anyone gotten the problem of Audio coming out of both headphones and speaker randomly while listen to music or watching a video?
I have a 32GB nexus 5 and I was watching a video and all of a sudden the volume went down and I could hear from my headphones and speaker as well. Just wondering if it's just my device or someone else is also having this problem.
If so, you think it's a software issue or hardware? Cause if it is, I'm gonna get it returned or exchanged asap.
Bump. Anyone has this problem?

Lool. Thanks for the thanks.
Trust me I did that. When i watch YouTube sometimes and put it landscape the audio starts coming out from the speaker while headphones are plugged in. I reboot the phone then everything goes fine but sometimes it comes back again. This was the second time so I am worried whether it's a hardware issue of software. I feel it's software.

Just to echo: I had the same problem whilst listening on poweramp on my headphones, I declined a call by sending a text and all of a sudden I have audio coming out of headphones and speakers. Very embarassing on the tube!
I have restarted the phone and all seems to be good, but Google need to fix this.
I got the Mobile on the day before yesterday, and yesterday only I first connected the headphone, and I experienced similar issue. While playing music through PowerAmp, all of a sudden the volume on the headset gone low, and I heard its coming through speaker also. I pushed the jack all the way in, but the problem persist all the day long. when I put the jack in, it starts playing on the headphone only, and randomly it starts leaking. while playing through headphone whenever I press the power button, it starts leaking, whenever I go to the eq screen on the poweramp it starts leaking. along with that it starts leaking randomly. Today after seeing this post I rebooted and till then I have not experienced it again. Please let me know, did u RMA it? or the problem solved?
If anyone else has a opinion or a suggestion please respond.
On a side note, my speaker volume is terribly low, I didn't know there was a shutter sound exist, until I read from the forum today.
Bump

I have a similar problem with my nexus 7, after buying a new audio jack/ micro USB port assembly. About two days ago the audio just stopped coming out of my headphones and instead plays from the speakers and I have know idea whats going on, if it is the assembly then I've wasted $70.
Bump Galaxy Tab A SM-T550
Same here.. Android 4.4.2. with PowerAmp.
When I'm listening "poweramp" I put to charge the audio leaks from the speaker
Just had that happen on LineageOS 14.1 (based on Android 7.1.2) OnePlus 2
While watching a YouTube video.
After doing some tests I found that it was happening when a notification was received during playback. The notification sound was coming through the phone and after that the media sound was also coming from the phone.

Anyone have Bluetooth distortion issues??

Hey everyone,
Found out my company is ditching Sprint for Verizon which means I have to part with my beloved Nexus 5.
Anyway, from what I've been reading on here it seems like the M8 is really the only Verizon phone that can be rooted. I've had a few HTC phones over the years, including the M7, but they never seem to get along with my car's stereo. The phone part works fine but when I stream music via Bluetooth there is always a great deal of distortion in the high end. Especially on cymbal crashes. This makes it pretty much unlistenable. I'm curious if anyone has experienced anything like with with the M8? I've Googled it a few times and found threads about the One X and One M7 having this problem but have yet to see anything about the M8.
I don't stream to my car often, but on the handful of times I have, I didn't notice any sound issues. This was using Pandora and Google Music, on a Ford (2008 model).

Just got my jaybird x's today and guess what. Filled with static. I could not be more annoyed with this particular phone right now. Three defects in one model I mean come on. Speaker crackle. Screen is creased and looks like you're pressing down on a TV and now Bluetooth has static

I can't say for certain, but I imagine bluetooth audio issues would most likely be due to whatever is actually playing the music, not the phone. Bluetooth audio, in general, is terrible - unless you're using something like the HTC Stereoclip which does not use that same audio codec that just about everything else does. You could have lossless flac files on your phone, and 9/10 times it's gonna sound like crap over bluetooth, no matter what the music is being sent from.
I stream daily over Bluetooth and it sounds amazing. Vzw.

Just plugged mine into my aftermarket JVC GPS stereo on a my truck which gets only occasional use these days. Have to say I was somewhat blown away when I pushed some Comfortably Numb into the 5 speakers (Inc sub) and cranked up the volume. Most impressive...
The wife gets terrific sound from her N7 to some small bluetooth speakers we got last year and has no issues unless she's using TuneIn at which point it goes from OK to awful.
I say this to simply point out that the invariable rule of YMMV seems to hold sway here but I don't think the M8 has any generic systematic failure with bluetooth audio.

This is true. But I'm talking hiss/distortion like a speaker is blown. I'm just streaming Spotify to my cars stereo and not expecting flawless audio but the issues I have with the M7 were unlistenable.

From what I understand, it has something to do with HTC setting the bitpool value too low. Which, in itself, might not be a big deal but it might just be a issue with that value combined with my car's stereo. I just don't want to lose root when I move to Verizon.

Maybe the stereo in your car just sucks? Streaming Pandora over BT in my car usually sounds great. I mean granted it's not as good as using headphones, but it sounds pretty damn good.
Also, I streamed some more over this last weekend, and while the quality was still good, it did disconnect once for no apparent reason. And once it happened, I remembered that it happened a few weeks ago as well. Same thing, I was just driving along both times, and my BT just seemed to shut off. I turned BT back on, reconnected Sync (it's damned annoying how Sync never automatically reconnects), and it worked again for the rest of the weekend.

I saw that an OTA for the M8 pushed out today (I think) that was supposed to fix some Bluetooth issues. I won't if the disconnects were addressed.
I'm M8 should be here on Monday. I really hope it works out OK. I don't want to send it back for an iPhone. :crying:
Another OTA? Has anyone else heard this? I am having a really rough time with bluetooth headset outgoing voice quality so some sort of fix would be awesome.

If the phone volume is at max it will distort. When I turn the volume to max while streaming Bluetooth to my car stereo it sounds crackling and distorted. Turning volume down 2 clicks to about 85% on the phone fixes it

It's not a volume thing. I've tried turning it down when I had the M7 and it sounded the same.

Again, sorry, but it may just be your stereo. When Bluetooth streaming to my car I always have my phones media volume maxed and I control the listening volume via the car volume, and it sounds fine.

Do you have an aftermarket stereo? I've had 4 different head units on my car, all high end Sony and clarion and all had same thing with max volume all my previous 3 phones ( rezound, s4, and m8). Just curious if it's just aftermarket decks that have this issue which I really don't consider an issue. I prefer to have the volume lower on the source and let my deck and equalizer provide the output anyway.

No, it's a factory Ford stereo. If you know someone with a factory BT compatible stereo, maybe try pairing your phone to their car and see if streams with or without distortion?
I mean, it's possible your particular phone itself could be bad. I just don't think it's all M8's since I don't have a problem, and because I imagine we would have seen a lot more complaints.
For six months I have been playing music in my car with a one (M7) via Bluetooth, with very annoying vibrations that eventually damaged my car stereo. I just found out that if I launch the media app via the "HTC car" app, the volume is much louder and I don't have those vibrations anymore. By default the HTC car app in the M7 only includes the default "Music" app, but other media apps may be added.
Hope this may help for the M8 too.
By these vibrations detroyed my car stereo, and I had to change it. I am pretty annoyed that HTC doesn't mention this anywhere, and leaves it to the user to find out.
