[Q] EOS ICS 4G-NFL mobile won't run - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi.
I'm running the EOS ICS on my Verizon 4g Xoom (which totally rocks btw), but I can't get Verizon's NFL mobile to run. It starts up, then gives me a message that NFL mobile is only for Verizon wireless customers.
I have Verizon obviously, and I also have Verizon login app installed. I am also unable to run that. Doesn't seem able to run; can't even open it from the market.
NFL mobile ran fine when I had 3g, and fine once I got the 4g upgrade. I also swear that it ran when I ran an earlier EOS build (to it may have been some other ICS ROM, I forget for sure).
Has anyone had any luck getting NFL mobile to run on a recent EOS ICS build?
I'm running stingray-47 and gapps 10.5.
Thanks,
john

[Q] Hotspot still free

Now I am getting very confused. It is the 13th of July. I keep reading about the update thats out. I have had no option for the update, and I can't say I'm all that interested. I am still getting my Hotspot free and the phone is still working like great. Now I found that most people have been getting a msg. to contact VSW for mobile hotspot activation, but this message has not been an option for me as of yet. I have been waiting for them to take my hotspot away before rooting the phone. Just wondering how many of you are still up and running, or if anyone has an explanation available for me on this matter.
I'm thinking that you will still be able to use the free hospot feature as long as you don't update to the new 1.70 base that is out with the new ota..I believe the software in the new update disables the hotspot and requires that u contact verizon to continue use..I'm still on MR1 and still have the hotspot feature..I have no plans on updating running liquid thundersense 1.5

[Q] Rooted HTC Inspire 4G - Tether Issue

Hi, I hope someone can help me. I have been using the ClearDroid ROM v1.2.2 Stable with the Mod and its great. The only problem I have is the usb tethering will not work without using something like "Easy Tether lite". When I connect my Inspire 4G to my laptop and select the usb tethering option i get an error that i need to "contact AT&T to enable tethering on this device". My provider is Telstra (Australia) and prior to rooting the phone this worked ok. Is this how it should work since it has been rooted and flashed the Cleardroid rom?
I have also noticed that my Inspire has AT&T Hot Spots still running, but using ClearDroid AT&T bloatware should have been removed. Has something not worked or is this normal?

Without the AT&T hotspot app present on the device, I am not sure that users would gain access to the free AT&T wifi across the country, so I left that in there purposely. The purpose is to only add to the device's functionality, while not taking anything away that might be useful.
As for the tethering issue, you are using the stock tethering app. When AT&T updated the device to gingerbread, they locked it down hard. I am still working on how to unlock the stock app for that.
There is a second tethering app in the app drawer that has been there for many builds now, and it is guaranteed to work as it should. Use that one instead of the stock one and you will be just fine. Many users even report that they like it better to begin with. I hope this helps until I can get a real fix on the hotspot.

Sorry to revive an old thread. I was hoping there was an update on getting the stock tethering hotspot app working in Gingerbread. I've recently starting using an unlocked Inspire 4G on Ting (GSM/T-Mobile network), which allows tethering, but the stock app complains I need to call AT&T to enable tethering.
I was hoping there was a setting in the setting.db I could change, like I see described for other devices, and worked for my Nexus 5.

[Q] (help) motorola xoom 3g verizon ..updated to ics wifi only os

Hi guys I need help or info about this Ive always wanted Motorola Xoom wifi only but I received Verizon one with 3g not upgraded to lte . I rooted it and installed ics for the wifi only system from Google or android website its stock ..
And works actually very well no 3g ..nothing about service I don't mind since I'm not with Verizon and not planning to go with them I just need wifi but my question is ...is it right I mean everything works good only the battery It seems like honeycomb stock verizon build battery stays longer is it because of wifi only ice version ..or something I'm not sure if somebody can help me with info
Hmmm ... me too. I have a Xoom tablet arriving this week, and it was listed as "MZ600 Xoom, LTE ready, Verizon". Which rom version should I install? I do not plan to activate it with Verizon, as I already have a dinc running CM7 nightly build 258, and waiting for ics. I would just like to run ics on the Xoom. If I don't activate the Xoom, which rom should I use, or CAN I use??
If both of you are not planning to activate with Verizon, using a Wifi only ICS ROM won't be a bad idea. I too have installed this to a friend of mine and he hasn't experienced any issues. You will not be missing out of any features because the only main difference is the 3g / LTE radio.
So anyone has seen the stock ICS for the xoom 3G version?
AFAIK wifi only is the only model to get an official update. Running the wingray build on cdma or lte is just fine.

Daily steals xoom questions

So I got the 32gb Verizon 3g/wifi Motorola xoom off daily steals (hasn't arrived yet). If I'm correct it comes with 3.1 but is upgradable to 4.0. I don't intend on using it on Verizons 3g network but I do intend on using it on my wifi. I have a nexus 7 and I'm loving jb so I want to eventually get 4.1 on it. I could always root but I always second guess myself on whether I should or not. Are the jb roms stable enough for daily drivers? Is it possible to get the stock jb update that went to the wifi only version? If not should I root on 3.1 or 4.0?
Edit: so I did a little research and from what I've read the eos jb roms are the best but I failed to find one for a US Verizon 3g/wifi xoom. Would the US wifi only one located here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1764751 work and just disable 3g capabilities like some have said

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Victory Tether

I have the samsung galaxy victory 4g lte on virgin mobile and I want to use it to tether. I rooted it but no tether app I use is working for me. Does anyone have a working tether on this phone? If not, what are some generic tether apps/ways to get tether working?
Thanks
Well, even though this thread has no replys, I will explain what I ended up doing with the Galaxy Victory:
I originally was trying to get mobile hotspot to work with Victory using whatever app I could. However nothing worked. I then just tried to use PdaNet+ (FoxFi) USB tether and that ended up working with a regular PC. Then I just used the computer (desktop) to broadcast the network using Virtual Router Plus.
So far this has been working, but hopefully I can eventually get the mobile hotspot working directly from the phone. Although I think this might require a new kernal which I have no experience in making/modifying.
you can try easy tether.
Easy tether lite
Easy tether
wifi tether working on mine

Thanks for letting us know what you did. I have the sprint device, but have not tried any tethering apps. Also, the kernel already supports tethering but the stock tethering app and associated framework try to block tethering from another source. Thanks again and If you're interested in some mods check out AndroidForums. There are not a lot of users, but since Virgin, Sprint and US Cellular all sell this phone now hopefully more will join us. Thanks again.
Tether problems
I am using the wifi tether app with the TrevE Mod, with all the settings everyone else seems to be using and I still can't get it to work on my Virgin Mobile Galaxy Victory. Anyone have any ideas or tricks i could use to get it to work?
