[Q] Missing Notification Bar on Droid X - General Questions and Answers

Hey all, this is my first post. I have a Droid X that has been running with Launcher Pro Plus for the past few months.
I rooted my phone the other day and everything was going fine. I downloaded Titanium Backup, ShootMe, and then Metamorph.
I've been checking out droidpirate.com and downloaded a few different notification bar color schemes, which were working fine. Today I downloaded another and decided I wanted to change it, so I switched to a new one through Metamorph, applied it, and rebooted my phone. Upon restart it was still the same color as before, so I applied again and before I could restart it gave me an error message that the status/notification bar (not sure which it said at the time) had crashed.
I restarted it, and ever since then I've had no notification bar. I've tried reapplying the color schemes in Metamorph and restarting after, but nothing has changed.
I've gone to the Launcher Pro settings and toggled on and off the "hide notification bar" setting which hasn't changed anything. I've restored my backup in Titanium Backup and it is still the same. I'm not sure what else to do at this point.
What do you all suggest? It really sucks to not see my battery meter, time, etc. when I open my phone. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

bump, if there is a better thread this should be in then my bad, just let me know which

bump? any help is greatly appreciated

bump, this will probably be the last one.

What exactly is meant by "flash the same ROM again"? Sorry, I'm pretty new to all of this.

A Theme ?
what Rom ?
what sbf ? 2.3.15 or later ?
It's the full gingerbread theme on this page 1.5......my rom is 2.5.18 and I'm running 2.3.340...I have a screen replacement running when I tried to install the theme....could that be it?

Hi I had that same issue with one of the colored themes I think it was green could not get the phone to reboot into clockwork mod either. Solution was plugging the charger in and turning phone on after thee battery charging symbol came on and it rebooted into recovery automatically were I had to restore to a ealier image backup I had that was the only way I could get past the fc's.

Can't download or install apps from the market

Exactly what the subject says. I tried clearing all data in the market app but that doesn't seem to be the problem. I'm running stock 2.2.2 with an OC kernel. Any help would be appreciated.

What are the symptoms that you are experiencing when you try to download an app
Sent From My Stock G2x
It says "Your item will be downloaded," after which the download bar appears. It disappears after a second as if the download had never even begun.

Try deleting dalvik cache, fix permissions. Turn off the phone for few minutes, turn it back on.
Did this started to happen after flashing kernel?
Make sure you are in a good reception area as well.

I think it did happen after kernel flashing. Sounds like a good idea. I'll try that and if it doesn't work I'll try reflashing Google apparently. I've noticed authentication errors. Barring that it's back to stock. Thanks for the advice

Same thing happened to me.. I fixed permission from Rom manager then reboot.
Now its working fine.
Just tried that myself. It seems to be working again

Good to hear that is working

This same exact thing happened to me after changing kernels. I went back to stock and it was still happening. Four hours later everything was fine again. Weird.
Not only do you need to clear market data.. But make sure you clear 'download manager' data too in applications
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
The problem started up again and continued after flashing back to stock. Someone else said that in this thread. I'll try the download manager wipe suggestion too. Thanks for all the input. I'm on a wifi network with a strong signal so it's a stable connection... Aaaaaand... starting download... still starting download... still still starting... At least it's doing something. I'll check back in later. Thanks again!
If I wipe dalvik cache, cache, fix permissions, and reboot after letting the phone sit for 10 minutes I can download four or five apparently after which the problem returns. I've also noticed that Google talk can't seem to log in.

[Q] [ROM][2.3.5] MIUI 1.9.23 for Infuse Q/A

Wifi sometimes won't connect.
Market won't let me download anything.
How to fix that?
Thank you Dev Mikey, Love Miui. After many tries, I was able to make it work.
this rom is beautiful!
For those who haven't been able to flash, odin back to stock and root+3e recovery then flash defuse kernel. put miui rom in internal sd card, wipe data/ factory reset. flash miui rom. after it's done flashing, pull battery out. reboot into recovery with 3 buttons and flash miui rom again. Enjoy!

Thats the long way. Just clear all caches and reboot twice and done market will work again.
I was on infused 1.60 no kernel change. Put MIUI on sd card. Go to recovery factory wipe and wipe all caches and done.
Anyone know how to get the Car Home app installed? Market doesn't see it as a compatible device. I would settle for "samsung" car home or Google car home but I am not sure how to get it on there.
Google is your best friend remember that.
One you install Car Home (google) the icon to open it won't appears. (don't know why)
Installing Samsung car home will just make shortcuts to google navigation and maps.

You can't install it at all, it's not that it doesn't work. Google Car/Home says incompatible device. Samsung car/home doesn't show up in the market at all.

Stuck on unlocking the SIM card
Hey guys,
I'm currently stuck on the unlocking the sim card. I put my code in to unlock and then it just keeps stating "Inlocking SIM card..." I've seen a couple people having the same issue as me on this rom and haven't seen any solutions so any help would be greatly appreciated. As far as I can see the rom looks awesome!
Thanks again
I have been using this rom since it was released into the wild, and everything has been great (until recently ). I played around with the themes and changed the fonts up a bit, and now after a while of use my characters get all jumbled (some Chinese text mixed with English on top of English). It happens across apps and doesn't go away until I change fonts again. I thought switching back to the default would help, but so far no luck.
Has anyone else seen this (or have a solution)?
Thanks

This thread will get it working......Skip step 2 paste the Libflash.so file in the right place and give it the proper premissions.
i know he says you will have to do this everytime you reboot(but it will not work unless you Reboot after you paste that file)
from what i have came across, this is true on both the august build and September build of miui.
im having a hard time finding my screenshots. they are not located in the MIUI folder on the sd card like the website says they should be. if there is a fix to this or if anyone knows where it puts them that would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Ack. What about the factory reset? The downside is losing your contacts if you haven't synced them, memos, IMs, call logs, etc.
Can you do a factory reset on a routed phone? Last time I did that on another phone I had to start ask over
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
You can do it, yes, but you will pretty much have to start all over.
Barring that, can you be more specific on what you uninstalled, what was FCing, etc?
thanks for your help bud I just pushed the system app folder to my phone and now its back

Changing Icons causing FCs

I tried to change my battery icon through rom toolbox. It went fine then I rebooted to get a long string of force closes, followed by an even longer string of swearing on my part. I restored and I am back working, but is there any way to change icons without this happening? Is this a known problem or is it something I am doing wrong? I'm running Sonya v3, and the icon did update, it just caused problems
I've used Rom Toolbox to change battery icons without issue on other Roms. Maybe PM the dev of that ROM or post it in the ROM thread.
The End.
