Hi,
i jsut got my Xoom MZ601 (wifi / 3G) and need to know what rooting method is the best for this TAB.
What ROMs are the most up to date nad coolest for this Xoom?
If i root is can i charge using USB?
Use the Universal Xoom Root Tool, available in the Development section (created by solarnz).
The EOS ICS nightly builds (also in Dev. Section) include the build for your UK 3G model...check it out.
The Xoom doesn't charge on USB...it has two batteries and still charges very quickly with wall charger...USB charging would be impossible.

[Q]: xoom MZ601 EUR 3g+wifi HC 3.1
There are so many threads about rooting/clockwork etc.. im quite stumped..
can somone point me in the right direction/thread please.
I have a xoom MZ601 EUR 3g+wifi, and id like to flash HC 3.1 and be able to use a microSD
clocking up the device would be a ad
hello
If you follow this link step by step you will have a UK 3g xoom with 3.1 on it. Working SD card and USB host function. Any problems pm me.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1089695
"Unlocked and rooted Euro XOOM with clockwork recovery"
how about that?
kinda afraid to use the wrong approach.. been hearing you wont be able to update to 3.2 etc when that comes..
future
in the future there will come a time when motorola wont push updates for the xoom at all
it takes them months now !!
dont worry about getting 3.2 at some point just because you use one of the guides here to get 3.1...
to be honest once you use the methods here your going to get a chance to update to 3.2 long before anyone else because some xda member is bound to release a working version that you can flash with cwm !!
so its a win-win really, as long as your happy with the risks ( what risks! ) your better off using an xda guide to upgrade to 3.1 and keep coming back for updates forever..
personaly my xoom is a UK xoom running 3.1 as instructed in the development thread ....." in 5 easy steps..."
.
Hi,
Got my xoom about 2 days ago and looking to put the team eos nightly ics rom on it,
However, I dont know what model my xoom is, The box does not really help. And the model number in settings just shows "xoom"
The xoom was bought brand new from America (Im in Australia) and it is the WIFI only version
Also i was wondering the easiest way to root the device?
Thanks

The Wifi only is MZ604 or sometimes referred to as Wingray. Here is a link to rooting:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17129803
And here is a link to unlocking and flashing:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11598889
Thanks for that, Ive just got to sort out how to set up adb, No idea on it..
the way it seems, The Xoom is much harder to root & install custom roms on than the Optimus 3d, SGS and the SGS2
Ok so im following this guide,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1249798
and have installed drivers and adb and all that stuff,
When i double click on fastboot, It pops up for about a second then goes away?
Not exactly sure what to do
Edit: Nevermind got it
Trying to figure out how to install CyanogenMod on my Xoom MZ600 (ICS Verizon OTA Upgraded) tablet. I searched several links on xda-forums which seem to apply to the xoom2 and xyboard which I (don't think) I have. I also found "Rooting WiFi xoom" on xda-forums but when I got there, it talks about and update for model MZ604 and my UPC sticker says "MZ600". I searched for rooting mz600 in the xda Xoom forum, and found "OUTDATED" guide. I then checked out the CM wiki which gives instructions for installing CM for "Wingray" but I'm not sure if Wingray is "Xoom" or "Xoom2" -- it only says Wi-Fi which presumably, the Xoom2 also has? Gaaahh!. Where is the correct place to go to find correct info for rooting my mz600 with ICS Verizon OTA update? ICS is way to slow for me and turned tablet into useless. I want to put on CM9 or CM7 on it. Thanks!
Hi,
I think you can try giving a look at our device FAQ It may answer lots of your questions
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2145522
Hey,
I followed the FAQ yesterday and was able to root and flash my Xoom(MZ602) with success! I used the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2088705 JB MR1 4.2 Stingray MZ604 Verizon 4G LTE. I would recommend it if you have a 4g Xoom as opposed to the Wingray because, if I am not mistaken, Wingray is for the WiFi only Xoom...someone with more experience might be able to verify.
Whatever you go with be sure you backup before you flash the ROM, it is never a bad idea to backup!
Good luck you won't regret it!
Sent from my Xoom using xda app-developers app
wingray is the wifi xoom
As I have a XOOM 2 running Android 4.0.4, I'm searching for further update for this device.
I found that the EOS Team has released Android 4.1.2 nightly build for XOOM, but not the XOOM 2 version.
Actually I haven't seen any 4.1.2 build for XOOM 2. So I want to ask,
can I use XOOM rom on the XOOM 2? if Not, is there any stable room for XOOM 2 in the entire forum?
if there is, i hope that you will send me a link of the thread.
thx for your help!
No
I Dont know much about the xoom 2 but the bootloader was never unlocked therefore no custom roms thats why theres no dev support

I've recently received a Xoom 2 but it's running 3.2.2 , You've updated it or it was the original version came from the company?
another interesting matter is that I've not seen any motorola device managers that support Xoom 2!

Tablet is upgradeable directly from Motorola to version 4.0.4 (versions can be checked e.g. https://motorola-global-en-uk.custhelp.com/app/software-upgrade-news/g_id/1994). Some time ago in some language version there were not clearly stated, that 4.0.4 would be the last version for Xoom2, but now it seems that it is.
Device manager at least for US version: https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/prod_detail/a_id/78644/p/7901,8197

Hi guys!
I have 2 x TF300TG tablets with original ASUS Android 4.1.1 installed. As far as I know they are unlocked (3G) and can take any operator (I've only used one operator since I bought them though).
Is there a newer ROM available which meets the following requirements:
Stable
3G works
Transformer docking option works
If so, which is the recommended ROM to go for and what do I need to make it happen?
Thanks!
There are no roms for the 3G model at all, never were
