[Q] Superuser zip install problem - Samsung Galaxy R i9103

I'm facing the same problem as another user at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1406880&page=2 (posting in general as I'm new at XDA).
I follwed the instructions in the beginning of the above thread to root my SGR. I installed CWN properly. When I tried to run the superuser zip file it gave me error in zip as well. However super user app seems to be installed properly.
I'm not sure how to proceed, should I try to download and run superuser again? Is there any way to detect whether there are any problems in my superuser?
Thanks.

No, you can ignore the error, it will still work fine.

Clockworkmod won't load..

I installed the clockworkmod touch 5.8.4.0 on my rooted and unlocked 1.85 One X, and whenever I boot into recovery it shows the loading screen then boots back into my OS. Even if I use rom manager I can't install the custom rom. Trying to install the cyanogenmod but can't do nothing. Any help? Tried posting in the other subforum they told me to come here so I'm not double posting! Tried fastboot erase cache
I don't think CWM Touch works on this phone. Try flashing the CWM that is in the Development subforum, or TWRP.
Will try, thanks!
Got the 5.8.3.1 to work, thanks again!

I'm trying to install a custom rom but when I get into installing it, it says formatting cache then stays there and at the bottom says next, if I click it, it says it has been installed when really it hasn't. Trying to install the jdroid exodized. any help?

Did you try running the motochopper or the Xperia_L_Root script again?
Delete SuperSU and maybe try again. And please tell if any errors occurred during the running of the script(s).

I did root once again using Xperia_L_Root script and before doing that I had uninstalled SuperSU.
Also, there was a problem while rooting. The script said 'Failure' somewhere but still it continued and also said the Exploits were pushed successfully

Have u tried using motochopper only?
Update SU from play store (don't open yet) and install Busybox. After installing busybox, open SU. SU will recognize busybox and install the binaries!
If this dosen't work then use motochopper again.
I just ran that script once again, it works now. Thanks

Hey Navneet thanx,,,,,, The problem is solved.... Here are the steps that i followed
uninstalled super user from my device
rooted the phone with motochooper
Installed superSu (when you root with motochopper you will already have super user installed on your device but the binaries were not installed so instead what i did was installed SuperSu of chanfire so that i will get a conflict message and the chainfire will unstall the default super user and update the binaries for me.
And Bingo! Luckily it worked...............

Almost the same problem as above but not really
Hello guys! My name is Vlad, this is my first post here and this is my first time trying to root a phone. I got a little problem so I would really appreciate if you could guide me a bit step by step out of it.
I have a Sony Xperia L phone and I have tried to root it using an app that uses Motochopper exploit, downloaded from this link:
htt p:// ww w.4shared.com/zip/6WyYYjpCce/Xperia_L_ROOT .html
delete the spaces in order for the link to work. Sorry for not respecting the rule but there would be no other way to show what I used
It seems to work but I have an error that occurs at the end:
"Rooting phone...
This may take a few minutes.
Failure.
Cleaning up...
Exploit complete.
Press enter to reboot and exit."
I have tried the ideas mentioned until now: reboot, reinstall, update, etc. but nothing seems to work. Any idea to help me please?
P.S. I am not trying to offend anyone by saying this but if I need to use some program to install something complicate please explain me as I am a beginner into this.
Thank you!

There is no way you can get back TA partition if you lost the backup too. But its just for some warranty and DRM purposes. It shouldn't affect the user experience in general. As for Whatsapp and other updates, its completely unrelated to rooting or TA partition.

[Q] Root Problems (Solved)

Hi,
I'm having issues with my OPO root. After unlocking Bootloader, flashing TWRP recovery and installing SuperSu, I installed some root Apps. The first one worked (gave permission), but the second App said I have no root installed, and the first one said the same. When I restart my phone sometimes it works but only for some seconds.
Hope someone can help.

Therefore I dont know what to do. the post said the extension is supposed to be zip but there are in in only two img files, which when connected to the phone, won't even be recognize. so how can i flash the phone?

Now I think I do have a clear idea o the issue: I followed all the steps this time
however, SuperSu would pop out at the end and when I check: root access denied: I think the previous root that I did not perform right, is the issue somehow. Is there any way to get rid of it or go around it?

Did you flash a kernel? If you did then download super su from the market and try TiBu again. The error means that TiBu was not given super user permissions. So either you dont have a rooted kernel or you dont have SU installed to grant the requested permissions. OR you have both and just didnt grant SU permissions when asked.

The market has a super user app for managing SU permission requests, you may already have it. It will look like a pound sign "#" and say super user or SU. If you dont have that app you need to download it. The developer is named chainfire.
TiBu is short hand for Titanium Backup
Waouh I am learning a lot from you guys. O, I will be looking for that SU with the # sign. It is definitely not what I currently have.
by this sentence: "OR you have both and just didnt grant SU permissions when asked." : do you mean that the phone may have already been rooted? without SU telling me? because honestly, I dont know whats wrong.

If you already have SU then you would have been prompted to grant super user permission by a pop up dialog. If you mistakenly select deny or wasn't paying attention (it has a time out that will select deny but only temporarily if no user input is selected). If you mistaken selected deny then you would need to open the SU app and remove the TiBu entry, restart TiBu and select allow.. That is only IF you have the Super User (SU) app installed..

Hi, I just realized that I am not done yet. More new issue with the phone. It looks I did not do something right or one of the softwares is not correct: after we rooted the phone yesterday, IO had it unlocked with the help of stilfilz. However, ever since , when I make phone calls, the phone would go off by itself after a while.
Have you heard of previous similar mistakes? If yes, any ideas about how to fix it?

You need a different kernel. You should give me the model number of your phone and I will point you to the most recent arter kernel. I am assuming you are rooted with noble which was known for kernel panic during phone calls which caused reboots

[Completed] Note 5 SM-920C Bricked from disabling SuperUser and rebooting

I own an Note 5 and i managed to soft brick it while trying to get android pay working for my rooted phone. In the process I was asked to turn off superuser in the SuperSu app and then reboot. After that my phone wouldn't boot.
List of things I tried:
I tried to flash the recovery.tar to my phone
Flashed Twrp and wiped my cache and davlik-cache
Also tried the fix permissions option.
Thanks in advance
Hello,
Welcome to XDA.
Boot to TWRP(flash it again if you have to) and flash the superSU.zip and then when you reboot go to Playstore and find the Hide My Root app and you can use it to hide root from the app you want to use instead of disabling superSU. If Hide My Root doesnt work then try finding other apps that do the same thing.
I hope that helps. Good luck
Hey I was wondering how to put the zip file on my phone?
Thanks k

Put it on sdcard with PC or boot to recovery and push it to phone via adb on PC, then you can flash it in TWRP.

I haven't found any decent totorials for the adb push

I was trying to give you a simple fix since you said the issue started when you disabled superSU but obviously something more is wrong.
You'll have to post your question in the forum linked below. I could help you further but we're only supposed to point you to where you can find your answer, we aren't supposed to post here until the issue is fixed.

You'll have to post your question in the forum linked below. I could help you further but we're only supposed to point you to where you can find your answer, we aren't supposed to post here until the issue is fixed.

I can help you further if you post where I linked you, I just can't do it here because we are supposed to keep it short and simple here and just send you where you need to go. Make a new post in that forum and just give me a mention by adding @ to the beginning of my username like this: @GraphicMarble. I'll get a notification and then I can reply.
