In order to install a rom, you need root.

Please do your own research. Rooting your phone is not just something anyone should do.

I have rooted my phone while still being froyo. I read that kies wont be able to read the phone once rooted. And I understand if i try to use kies to upgrade it. It may cause a error. What are my option??? I have found a thread to solve the problem but I can't seem to find it anymore. Sorry if i repeated this thread. Thank you for any information. have a nice day.

If you had gone into the general section and read the titles you wouldn't noticed it's exactly what you want
Yea. That link you gave me is for fresh out the box t959v. After reading it a couple times. It doesnt have anything for rooted phones. I want to know how to upgrade with a already rooted phone with froyo to gingerbread.

You need the KJ6 Heimdall One-Click. The guide for it is in the second post in that same thread. Look again.
Or click the second link in my signature.

It doesn't really matter whether your phone is rooted or not, that's the beauty of these phones. Just follow lumin's instructions and you'll be set.
He can't use Kies mini because he is rooted. I think he only saw the guide in the first post and that is why he thought it wouldn't work.
Which one would i use? Bootloader or non bootloader? Again.... thanks for all the information. It is highly appreciated.

Hi, I recently betrayed the Apple clan and converted to Android.
I have an Infuse 4G and currently under going developing my device.
however
I have rooted it using super one click using a video I found in the development section of this forum. However, it did not continue on to show me how to install kernel and ROM.
Which brings me to my next issue: according to a fellow android user, I have to install a kernel....whatever that is. Can anyone provide a trustworthy link to install kernel from?
And also after that I apparently have to install ROM, but the choices for this are endless?
Sorry. I REALLY suck at this kind of stuff.
Also, are these ( FroYo, ICS, GB), ROM or kernel?...

Hi,
has anyone ever rooted a T-mobile MOVE 2.2.2 phone?
I have found extensive topics about rooting other phone models, but found only one topic about the MOVE model: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16049789#post16049789
Could anyone confirm whether the "GingerBreak-v1.10.apk" actually works?

The MOVE obviously is not a very popular phone (given it is still on Froyo lol and I've never heard of it. I pretty much know every brand name phone so...), so it is doubtful that an actually user can reply
If you want to take on this tone, then allow me to ask you why you even posted this in the first place? You post when you need help, NOT to confirm if something is working or not when you have not even tried it. XDA is a dev forum and you will always be wondering if something (such as a ROM, recovery, mod) works, is compatible with your phone, if it helps in x or y way, etc.
The best way to answer your question is to try it yourself, and that is why my answer answers your question.
Given the fact that someone else used it and is the only source you could find, isn't your question answered? Thus this thread is useless and could you explain how this thread has any purpose?
In simple words, don't get fresh with any member who definitely knows more about rooting than you.

I know i sound noobish asking these type of question, but there's a reason why i ask...
What is the most stable SAMSUNG ROM?
Like i said, i know its noobish of me to ask and many will say to try them out and choose, but the thing is the tablet is not mine, it is my sisters.
The reason why i'm asking this is because a) the tablet is not mine, therefore i don't have the time to be checking one by one which one i like and b) seems like my sis is having trouble with her contacts not appearing unless she does a reboot and if i'm gonna mess with it well might as well flash it with custom firmware .
I am looking for stock experience as i don't want to "disable" features such as spen and stuff like that so that i wont confuse her.
If anybody has any recomendations please let me know, appreciate the help!
I have to ask why not just fix her contacts bug instead of dropping a nuke on it and potentially brick and/or void the warranty on a very expensive tablet that you don't personally own?

i guess im a flashaholic lol, and at the same time since im gonna mess with it, might as well "optimize" it... but that is a very good point an also am thinking about it

Stock is the simple answer as of this time .
There are not that many roms you will find so you can read their threads .

Good morning. Let me try to help you out... There are a ton of detailed instructions in the forum for your device. Below I am giving you the link to the General forum. Check out the thread titles to find the things you're looking for, and definitely read the stickies at the top of the forum. Nobody is going to retype everything that's already right there, but there are helpful people who will answer questions if you have them after reading the guides for yourself first. Check 'em out:

If you haven't rooted the device and it has Android on it then you are on the stock ROM right now. So, follow any of the guides written out for your device (link above), which will tell you how to first root the device, then to install something called Clockworkmod Recovery ("CWM" it will be called), and then to make a backup of your stock ROM ("nandroid" it will be called). From that point you can read more about custom ROMs and start to have fun. Read first though, trust me. It's worth the time to make sure you don't brick the thing by doing something you shouldn't have.
Enjoy.
thanks a lot friend i ll try it for sure

I don't know what a root file is, but if you go to that forum all the root guides and links are stickies. Thank you so much. I needed that. Lol. You literally just quoted the answer to your own question. Like, someone asked a question, I answered it (last summer lol), then you quoted my answer to ask the same question. Oh, this made my day. Thank you... lol.
In case that's unclear... my answer to your question is the answer you quoted. Ah, I love it. Cheers, mate. I don't mean this as rude, it's just hysterically awesome. :good:
you can find it on galaxy s2 subforum for custom rom, custom recovery and root tools
if you have installed the custom recovery and root, do a nandroid back up of your current ROM (system, boot, data) in case you want to go back to your old rom

*Yeah right...you cannot insult people and then saying 'no mean to insult'. Just letting you know smartypants... I dont say this to insult you...as you say
Thread given in link was far to complicated and needed TO MUCH search (my opinion). I found the file to another thread. By saying root file I mean the file I need to root my phone. I found a file called SU or smthng like that. Thank you though mate.
