[Q] Post GB Upgrade Packet Data Issue **Solved, please delete - Samsung Infuse 4G

**Mod could you please delete this post? Discovered an incorrect setting that was causing this problem.
Ever since doing the official GB upgrade I've been having problems with my "Use Packet Data" option staying selected. I wiped my phone before and after the upgrade so it should be a clean install.
Is anyone else having this issue? Was also wondering if this has anything to do with the issue of "long" messages failing?
Any thoughts, help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Data only works while in-call?

I've noticed this problem yesterday in Serendipity 4.3 and I thought it was just me. I upgraded to 5.2 and also did a Master Clear and still have the same problem.
I tried updating my modem from JK4 to JL3 and it's still the same issue. Web-browsing/Data will not work unless I'm currently on call with someone. As soon as I hang up, data doesn't work anymore.
Anyone know what the problem is? I have "Use Packet Data" checked in Wireless Settings also.

After you flash roms, are you doing a system data restore? If so, that has been known to cause problems.
Nope, all I did was restore user apps, that's all.
I've got serendipity 5.2 and don't have this problem. Try flashing back to stock and master clear, then upgrade to 5.2 or 5.3 and before you restore anything, test it.

[Q] Captivate Issues, Bizarre Behavior (Cyanogenmod to blame?)

Hey everyone,
As you can see, I'm new here, and did my best to search (both here on the forum and elsewhere) and tried to put this in the right place. If I did something wrong, if you could politely let me know, I'll fix it.
As far as the problem goes, a couple of days ago, my phone just started having strange issues. All of a sudden it's been telling me all sorts of things are crashing, and force closing them. It's also been randomly telling me there's no sim card, and wont let me make phone calls. I'm also not receiving incoming text messages.
It's a Samsung Captivate, running Cyanogenmod 7, Mod Version: 7.0.0-RCO-Captivate-Kang
I'd try and grab screen shots, but Shoot Me can't get root privileges.
EX: "The application Email (processcom.android.email) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
^I get a similar one for the messaging app, as well as facebook, but they flash too fast to read in their entirety.
Ex: Dolphin has Crashed
An unexpected error occured forcing the application to stop. Please help us fix this by sending your error data, all you have to do is hit report.
Here's what I tried to to:
I've tried restarting, pulling the battery, and a hard shut down and restart, but no dice. I figured I'd have to restore to the stock firmware, then tried to do this with the captivate toolbox, but no dice. I think it's because Cyanogenmod 7 makes everything think its a Nexus One. So what do I do? Should I try and update cyanogenmod? restore using Odin One Click?
This was my first flash, and it'd been working okay for a few months, but all of a sudden I got a ton of problems.
If you need more info, let me know.
Thanks Everyone.
Do a wipe data/factory reset in cwm. Do not restore anything and see if that helps.

You can always flash stock with Odin.

Using CWM worked, or it seemed to anyways. Thanks for the help guys.
Does anyone have any idea why it was doing that?
Sometimes our data with Applications and other programs may have a conflict with one rom to another.it just does.now I have found on cm7 that sometimes it can be just about anything.I just like to start fresh on any rom.

Please look around the forum before starting new threads. There are stickies in the Q&A subforum for ROM-specific questions, which is where this should have gone. Always search before posting a new thread.

[Q] MIUI service and data issues

Hey guys so I decided to flash miui again but this new version giving me data problems. When I try to download a new theme its unable to connect to the.server. also the market sometimes says retry connection! I never had this problem before I also tried that new APN and it didn't really work. My data is usually on 3g now not hspa and its always been hspa... anyone having the same issues? If you can help me out that would be greatly appreciated! Thanks XDA community!
I am having the same issue and haven't been able to find a fix for it.
First guess would be a bad flash, necessitating a wipe and reflash. Did you upgrade from an earlier MIUI? If so, how did you do it? My data acted hinky a couple of times, so I just reflashed my *J2 modem and all was right.
Hey guys thanks for the replies. And I'm coming from infused and I've reflashed about.5 times I don't think its from that. And can you tell me wat this modem thing is I haven't flashed a modem yet.

Anyone getting market download errors (495) when trying to update?

I have no success updating my apps, I get an error 495 for the updates. I have cleared the cache, and still persists. Any ideas?

Having this issue as well after updating to the new Google Play app. Although, I'm unsure of whether it's the apps fault or the fact that I got a new modem. Will be testing with another wi-fi connection today.

Maybe synchronization with your Google account? You could try to go to settings and synch your account or remove it and re-add it. Things like that. If you did everything you could with the app then the account may just be acting up.
I've noticed the Market/Play will tell me an update is available when it's not and randomly the tablet will tell me to log into Google account with no loss on WiFi connectivity. I usually reboot to solve that. Good luck.

are you rooted? i have the same problem when updating apps. it justs hangs there.
problem fixed at last!!!
I finally managed to solve the problem. Just follow these steps, but bear in mind that i'm using a custom ROM so it might be a little different with you. Go to Settings > Wireless and network > Mobile networks > Access Point Names (or APN). Now select the APN that u are using. (I chose MTN Data since i'm MTN. Now go to "Proxy". There should be a number in there, delete everything that's in there and leave that field blank. Go to "Port" and clear everything as well. It worked for me.hope it works for u too. Let me know.
Yeee Peeeee!!!

No sd card found - it doesnt think there is anywhere to store anything.

Hi, ive just upgraded to Android 5.0.1 manually (13mb update from 5.0 didnt flash) by flashing each img Individually.
The problem in facing is that my phone no longer thinks it has any storage. Ive tried various different apps and some detect it and others don't. The only thing I have done that might of caused this is recovering my user data, but other than that, everything went fine.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Or does anyone know a fix?
Thanks in advance

I had the same issue, 4 reflashes of the full 5.01 later .... grrrr
I can't say what caused it, I can only attribute it to a an app that was causing it. I had google restoring all my apps at once and each time I let it do that the SD would disappear/unmount.
On the last rebuild I installed apps one at a time and so far it's been all good. If it was an app I don't know which one, I haven't installed absolutely everything I had on originally.
No help at all huh ?
Cheers

I had something like this happen . Are you using 4.4 and 5.0?
This happens quite often. Download a terminal emulator and run "su" (enter) and then "restorecon -FR /data/media/0" (enter) and reboot.

Haven't tried this yet but I wish this solution was around a week ago, I've had to reinstall everything manually, rather than restoring it
Thanks nonetheless

The solution has been around in a thread called "sdcard problems" in general for a long time. Always try to search
