Car dock problem - Optimus One, P500, V Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all, I just wanted to know is there anyway of removing the sticky thing of the car dock from the suction cup? I put them on the wrong way (sticky side sticking on the suction cup side, not the surface) I already tried water, but it's too tight. Sorry if this is the wrong section.

Simple Home-made "dock"

Hi all
I just made a Really simple Dock for my sgs. it's not really a Dock it's more a stand which fits to the phone. It's useful for listening to music or to use the sgs as alarm.
I used a 0.8 mm alu plate and just cut and bended it in the right position.
some pitures are attached
Tell me what you think, please
looks good, i have been trying to find some sort of dock for ages, could you incorporate the connectors into the stand somehow later on? id be wary about any rough edges that may scratch the phone. you could cover it in some type of material or fabric if you wanted to help protect it this would also help it stay in place.
I didnt put the usb cable on the dock cos i've got only one micro usb cable..
i've got no problem with sharp edges cos i rubbed(is that right?) them an my phone wears a case.
and the metallic loo looks good to me. sorry for my bad english, i'm swiss

DIY Smart Cover idea. Feasible?

So while I was looking at various case solutions for a number of tablets, I came across the repeated notion that any tablet without magnets cannot have a smart-case style clip on cover. While this is generally true, I had a thought....
The TF101 has the added bonus of having 2 great big clips on the bottom for the keyboard dock.
This lead me to wonder, how realistic would it be to make a smart cover/origami cover style case that clips to the side using these docking clips.
Once the cover can clip to the bottom, it's easy to attach that system to a chopped up existing case and boom, we have a simple clip on screen cover/stand.
I don't have the keyboard dock so I dont know how the clips work, so does anyone think there's any real potential in this?
My honest guess is that this is too ambitious and will never work, but it's always worth putting the idea out there
Edit: Crap, wrong section. Accident, my bad. Can a mod move this to accessories if that's more appropriate? Thanks
Hi!
I think the way the dock locks it up is with a switch in the hinge, which makes some kind of connection in the connector. That's just my guess though.
If I'm right, obviously the "smart TF cover" would have to include a dock connector and some kind of simple switch to do that connection...
Maybe 2 metal plates that when they touch the aluminum Bezel (and therefore contact between them is made), shut off the screen.
Someone that has dissassembled the dock can check and confirm how it works. I just bought it so I'm not willing just yet.

To be honest, making it do the "smart" stuff like that would be awesome but is also more complicated than I was thinking.
I was just looking at it doesn't look like theres even a dumb version of the smart cover, which is essentially what I was thinking.
I mean this as in, it doesnt need to control the display, it just seems like a more stylish, slimline way to protect the screen and use as a stand if it clips onto the side and only covers one face of the tablet.

How to increase tension or lock down car mount?

I have the HTC car kit for my Sensation and love it except for one thing: When driving over rougher roads or when taking hard right turns the mount moves, so instead of the phone staying nice and level it droops. My car's on an pretty firm aftermarket suspension so I wouldn't be surprised if not many other people have this issue... Is there any way to tighten or flat-out lock the mount's arm? There doesn't appear to be any visible tension screw I can tighten, and because the arm is chromed no adhesive I can think of really sticks to it. (at least super glue and silicone adhesives haven't ) Any ideas?

Got a picture?
Of the mount itself? It's this one: http://www.google.com/products/cata...a=X&ei=qDK1T7SzFMqeiQKdr7H1AQ&ved=0CHsQ8wIwAQ
The part I want to be able to tighten or lock down the the ball and socket you can see at the base... If this gets much more annoying I might end up grinding away the chrome from the ball portion and using something like JB Weld to secure it to the base.
It looks like the base should be able to come apart to tighten the tension on the socket for the lower ball.
Is there an external adjustment for this?
I checked and couldn't find any adjustment anywhere. If I pull away the suction cup it looks like the metal base is pressed in so I can't even get to the ball joint. Since the ball joint is limited to roughly 180* of rotation, I just rotated the entire mount so it's already at it's limit for the counter-clockwise rotation and therefore can't sag in that direction anymore. That leaves the power cable sticking out of the bottom instead of neatly out of the way at the top, but I ordered a micro-USB cable with a 90* end that should minimize that too...

Sliding windshield mount

So basically my 2 year old LG Car Mount Cradle Holder SmartFit2 for WCP-300/WCP300. Mount is sliding slowly over my windshield like a slug. This started when i couldn't park in my garage for about 3 weeks in the summer and now it wont be still. Ive cleaned the windshield and tried to put it back but no good.
If you are not familiar, it is NOT a dry suction cup. It has a king of sticky substance on it as well.
Another is $50 on ebay and i don't want to do that. What is it and can i reapply it?

Remove it, clean it with soap and water, let it dry, and clean your windshield as well. Reapply it. If it still doesn't stick solidly, scrape off the old adhesive as much as you can and get a double-sided adhesive rated for high temperatures (dashboards get super hot, windshields slightly less so). You can find great 3M outdoor adhesive strips or patches at a home improvement store for really cheap.

Trying to Find Folio Keyboard Case for SM-P580 with NO MAGNETS!

Hey Guys
I've had an SM-P580 for a few months now and have had trouble finding a keyboard case that doesn't have any magnets. I've done a little research and it looks like cases that just have magnets to hold the keyboard don't seem to affect the Wacom digitizer. I would also accept a case that doesn't have a keyboard as long as it has room to put one in. I want one that has a wide bottom part so I can hold it in my lap, I go to college and sometimes its impossible to find a desk or table. This is the style I'm looking for:
https://www.amazon.com/Vivefox-Deta...eywords=bluetooth+keyboard+samsung+tab+a+10.1
But as you can see this one has the auto sleep/wake function which means MAGNETS
If you guys could help me out in finding one without magnets or one where the magnets don't affect the Wacom digitizer that would be greatly appreciated.
Worst case scenario I'm just going to get one with magnets and rip them out.
