Hey folks, i tried searching here for my issue. I found many similar threads, but nothing that solves my issue.
Two days ago i started having issues sending picture messages, today i start losing network signal until it cut out alltogether.
I tried multiple sims from different carriers and got nothing. Ive tried the following:
Factory reset.
Rebooting and reinserting sim
Resetting apn settings, custom apn settings.
I have WiFi, and the symbol says "no service" nothing about emergency calls only.
The new information i have, which i didnt find on other threads here is this; i found a sim card app and tried it, its able to pull my sim card information off the card, (phone number etc.) yet i get no cell service. Any ideas?

Hey @kimsgrim
Hmm so u already did a factory reset? And didn't restore anything before test?
Really stock or u changed anything (Rom or Kernel)?
But ur phone doesn't say "No Simcard found, please insert and reboot" or kind of that?
If no the simcard is fine and the phone also seeing it. The sims u tested where card which definitly work on other phones?
So two things possible in my opinion:
1) System problem: Anything is reset or not working, which should be done with a factory reset or maybe flashing another stock firmware over
2) Hardware defect of antenna. Would be sad, but no other point for be atm.
Much success

Sounds like the sim card reader is messed
Hello
i changed phone operator two days ago, i put the new sim into my phone but it do not recognize the sim card. i went into network settings but some options like "access point name" is disabled ( i guess because it do not read the sim..). even if I try to connect to wifi..it does not work..it wont evene scan for network.
It was working just fine before i changed the sim...i also tried a factory reset....but nothing...i put different sims but it just wont recognize ( the new sim works fine on any other phone...)
Any suggestions??
is it something can be fixed via software?
Thanks
it is my uncle's phone
SM-G920F Galaxy S6 (G20FXXU5DQA2)
flashed back to stock and everything is 100% stock but the mobile networks in settings is missing and the sim cards wont work, it detects them being inserted but doesnt seem to connect.
Please help, couldn't find anything
Messing around with mobile data gives "insert sim card"
tried to factory reset from recovery, clearing the cache and reset from the Smart Switch desktop software.
Could possibly be an issue with the sim card slot, does the phone show a valid imei number?

100% hw, faulty SIM reader, cold solder, or something else on motherboard.
Try to ask in Samsung authorised repair center, maybe if you are lucky like me, factory warranty would be accepted.
I just told them I bought the phone second hand and it does not recognize SIM, did not go into details
force stop stuck on s6

The same thing happened to my G920P and I was stressing out looking for a solution. Finally, I figured it out myself.... I used idonne apps unlocking service awhile ago and still had their unlock app installed on my device. After trying repeatedly to no avail to unlock again I finally started looking thru the 3 dot settings and manuvered to the IOT HIDDEN SETTINGS TAB. From there I went to the "test mode menu" setting. Then to HW Test setting, down to #7 NV Rebuild All. Clicked that and let it do it's thing and all settings returned, no more stressing. Hope it works for you.
So I have a Samsung J3 (2018)(SM-J337A AT&T) I got from the US. I noticed that the WiFi doesn't work so I tried to factory reset it, thinking that would fix it. Nope, just made me stuck in the start. It just keeps me from moving past/skipping the WiFi connect because of the FRP and when I do try to connect, it doesn't connect even though it can detect. I tried multiple other WiFi connects like pocket wifis or mobile hotspots but no luck.
It gave a message at the start saying "Insert SIM Card to access network services." so I tried replacing the AT&T SIM Card with a local SIM Card but no luck either. It didn't detect either of the SIM cards.
Is there any way I can fix this?
I bought this smartphone from Turkey and it is most probably a clone/modified handset. The IMEI number written on the back of the device is different than the IMEI number shown in settings. I currently am living in Bangladesh.
However as shown in the picture, in the settings there are two numbers under the heading of united Arab Emirates!
I tried flashing this phone with stock firmware but no result. Everything works perfectly except the SIM card. I have tried with several sim cards but none is working. Every time I tried to call it says 'Not registered on network'.
One of the street mechanic was able to fix this problem a few months ago but then I reset the phone and the problem came back. I couldn't find that mechanic due to covid-19 lockdown. Other mechanics failed to make the sim work. Other connectivity such as wifi and bluetooth are working fine. Please help me solve this issue. I can provide any details you want.
