Pokemon Emulators - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Hey any sound advice for getting pokemon games on my skyrocket? I'm researched it and it seems there are ways to get some older ones on, but I was wondering if the newer black/white era ones were available.
Thanks

No the black and white games are ds games. There aren't any ds emulators that I know of. I play leafgreen and emerald and they play great on a gba emulator.

Idk if emulator and or roms are allowed to be discussed here but their is a DS emulator thats in demo stages i believe.

There is nothing wrong with emulating games and talking about them in these forums. One thing that should not be allowed is uploading the games or giving links to download them. They should be backups of the games you own.

What he said. NDS emulators on phones are still a ways off. I believe the major problem would be simulating two screens at once. But there are other emulators that let you play Pokemon games from GBA and GBC. Personally I think GameBoid and GBCoid are the best. They are very fluid when playing games and I rarely ever have issues with them. I actually just finished a run of Pokemon Yellow the other day. Lots of great memories.

It can be done, it just probably wouldn't look very good or wouldn't be very easy to program that in. But some PCs have issues running DS games. They typically require good CPUs.

I have a Intel Core i5. DS games run fine on it, they make my fans go off like crazy though, just saying.
They did start a DS Android port, but our devices are pretty slow for it. It's not like running a Gameloft game which is optimized.

The Bell released version of this phone has not got its update to ICS and I am encounteringa problem where on any of the "oid" family of emulators where the A and B buttons overlap on the transparency layer. In short, pushing either button counts as pushing both. Rendering the emulator useless. Is anyone able to confirm if the SkyRocket had the issue pre-ICS update?

I am running emulators on stock gb from my skyrocket without any issues. I use slideme market to get the really good emulators from Yongzh. They are all free but don't think they have been updated since google pulled them from the market/play store.

N64oid!

This is a great Nintendo 64 emulator now available on the market!
Here's the link:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.androidemu.n64
For me, using an Xperia X10 and Advent Vega (Tegra 2) Banjo-Kazooie runs smoothly.
But Super Mario 64 runs too fast! I asked yongzh (the developer) to add a framelimiter, so hopefully it'll be implemented soon.
I'm amazed at this, especially after looking at how hard development of alternative N64 emulators has been.
E.g. http://forums.ngemu.com/misc-n64-dis...s-android.html
P.S. I posted this in the 'Android Apps and Games' section as well, so that as many people as possible can know about it.
Imediatly bought. When I saw your post it's amazing and works great

This Emu will be balling on the S.EX Play.
Bought myself a WiiMote and a Classic Controller attachment for my x10. Best thing ever for playing classic games.
Is the ocarina of time and major's mask working?
I am gonna try this tonight or tomorrow.
oh godddd i hope super smash bros works.
downloading now.
it works.
slightly choppy. only SLIGHTLY. frameskip set to manual, 6
this is great !
Ow I can't test this I thought it was for free, but I can't pay for apps on the market.
Maybe it's coming some day on applanet.

How is the performance on the games for everyone with x10's, mario runs great, as does Smash Bros, but OOT is a little slow for me to really be playable and goldeneye is unplayably slow :-(
If anyone has had better luck with different ROMs let me know, I have stock 2.1 with jit.
Not bad at all though and kudos to the dev for making this possible, this kicks psx4droids ass
BTW, If you have an x10, don't bother updating to 1.12, i think its come out today. It squashes all the controls at the bottom which means you get the beautiful axis-crossing problems :-(

Yongzh put all his emulators on slideme for free after his problems with google, just go to slideme.org and search for Yongzh - the other emulators are pretty neat as well.
You may still buy the app from the market if you like it though !
I've 1.1.4 version, is working great, I played a lot of games for this emulator an my x10 and all are running smoothly. I play in mario 3d, the games are only about like mario 9mb, but so long for.

N64 emulator?

I've heard there is a good one. Where is it and what is it called?
There was one but it was taken off the market. It was called n64oid. It was taken off due too bugs and complaints , Mario 64 and zelda ran smooth as the real thing for me

Here is the link for the n64 emulator and as for the Roms, I would recommend rom buddy.

Yeah, I agree with you there. FPSe is way better than PSX4Droid or whatever it's called, but it's not as well known. But schtrucks, the creator, has been developing FPSeCE, the Windows Mobile version, for many years, and he just released FPSe, the android version recently, but it's already as good and advanced as the winmo version because he already knew what to optimize from the years of working on FPSeCE.
gahh tried this on my HD2 and it's lagging like crazy.

Many phones can - (the ones with 1Ghz+). It plays fine on phones like google nexus s and other 1Ghz+ phones.
Slightly laggy on a galaxy s. Playable, but you will hear the music skip frequently. I hardly notice any lag at OC 1.2ghz
I have had fairly good success running N64oid on a CM7 Nook Color OC'd to 1.2ghz. Can't give you a frame rate but Goldeneye, Starfox and Mario 64 all run smooth enough. (Sometimes it lags during cut scenes). I've also tried Perfect Dark and Rogue Squadron, but those won't even open on the newest version.
The Nook hardware is hardly latest generation. I would probably compare it to the original Droid.
I have a vibrant and it works flawlessly with no lag at all

I think a dreamcast emu is the last console to ever work on the xperia play and that might be a long time away.
I've been using emulators for years now and I think the general rule of thumb is that you need 10x the processing power of the original console to be able to run the games at full speed.

Yea my info of 10x was from years ago too so things could be different now but the n64 had a 93.75mhz processor so theoretically we won't really be able to have any newer consoles emulated to be playable. And I have also tried many emulators in my gaming computer and the gamecube emulator runs like crap.

sorry i meant ATI graphics not NVIDA, i get confused, im more of a console gamer its just onboard graphics too that came with the CPU chipset. either way its far more powerful that the sexplay, it can play 1st generation 360 games like bioshock, but not the GC emulator
GC emulation is underdeveloped. Last I checked, the building instructions for Dolphin took two pages...
gamecube/wii emulation on pc works quite good for me. Not all games but most games do. Just hook up a x360 controller or wii motes and use upscaling+anti-aliasing and you can get better graphics out of it then the cube/wii can themselves.

A Gamecube emulator? Lol.
The most "powerful" console you will emulate on a Xperia Play is a Nintendo 64. And with a lot of luck and work, maybe a Dreamcast, but that's far, far away from being a reality.

I have Nesoid and N64oid Free (original right?), The n64 one's roms are larger files but are great other than that. I play Galaga on Nesoid pretty much everyday before my Chemistry class.
You can get both of these at the SlideMe Marketplace, niether are avail on the Android Market, they're too good for the market

[Q] What Emulators work well on this device?

I am planning to download some emulators, probably a gba, nes, snes, ds and a psx emulator onto my phone. I have noticed most of the emulators cost money, which isn't a problem because I am always for supporting developer. However, I do not want to pay for something that doesn't work on my phone, so could anyone who uses emulators on their phone tell me what they use and any hacks they may have to emulate to get it to work.
By the way, I am running a rooted device with the latest temasek build with CWM.
Pretty much all of them work. I used to play PlayStation one games on it as well as 64 games.
I run gameboid snesoid nesoid and n64oid all work great on the phone
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
FPSE worked pretty well for my playstation games, and for snes the best by far that I've used is snesdroid. Just watch out for an app called snesAD, it really interferes with other apps and extensions.
Go to slide me market. Gameboid etc by yongzh iirc. Those are the originals imo and they're pretty stable and I haven't had any issues with them. The only paid one is n64oid iirc.
