Ok first off sorry if this has been asked already I looked around but couldn't find anything.
I wanted to see what progress had been made on the lord's 4.0.3 beta so I downloaded the zip. Made a CWM backup and flashed the beta. Then I was finished looking around I wiped/factory reset and the cache. Then used CWM's recovery to get back to my old and stable rom.
I rebooted many times but cant seem to get back my 4gish connection (I'm on AT&T). I checked the radio and its fine.
Please help an explanation as to y would be great. I'm trying to learn as much about this as I can so I can maybe start a little development in my spake time.
Thank you and dry again it this is a repost.

What speeds are you getting? There may be network issues in your area.
I'm only getting about 0.5 to 1.5 mbps. I had averaged around 3.0 and sometimes even up to 5 sometimes before.
Sent from my HTC Inspire
I have the same problem.
I'm starting to think it might be a problem in the build.prop or framework.apk configuration data of Lord's ICS.
I've noticed that I can re-flash my radio to 26.10.04.03_M and get back to HSDPA for like two hours, then it gets stuck in 3G.
I recovered Android Revolution 6.3.1 and it also was stuck on 3G, this worries me that it might be a radio problem.
Still looking for a solution, if I found one I'll let you know.
Thanks
I just flashed Lords v1.5 and my signal is good so far. My download speeds are extremely good compared to what I had before. Averaging around 4-5 mbps! We will see through out the week how it goes though.

Seeing great speeds on V1.5 also. i'm thinking it may be a service issue. I can get 3-4 mbps averaged, and then depending on location from my main tower only 3 blocks away, will see a drop of nearly 50% in speed. then returning to the area will restore speed to normal.
I cant say for sure, but my opinion is that the kernel in "not" the problem...and the current hack kit radio is running just fine also...
I'll monitor for a few days, and post any negative connection issues. (if any)...g

I did an at&t pushed update on my wifes stock motorola bravo last night.... After doing the update I noticed under mobile network type her phone now has HSPA. I am on a rooted HSUPA rom on my inspire and under network type on my phone it say HSDPA.
Is my wifes stock phone getting a better connection than my rooted rom'd phone.
Thanks
Have you tested each devices throughput yet?
Just using speed test and they were close to the same ... That being said I live in a crappy location for checking speeds using speed test or something .... I can run a test and got 2.0 down 1.5 up and then hit the restest button and get
100k down and 100k up.
So my speed test results are all over the place
If I remeber correctly on her bravo under network connection type before the update last night it use be UMTS
Well the rooting process and flashing a Rom breaks the "4g" connection. I was on the inspired saga Rom yesterday and it showed the h+ icon so I can I speed test. I couldn't even get above 1 megabit so I returned my phone to stock because I'm getting this one replaced. I ran a speed test again and get 2 to 2 and a half down and 1 up

That's incorrect. I'm running CM7 and consistently see low 2's to mid 3's down during off peak times and 1.3-5 up.

You caught my attention when I read that you were getting 5mb/s HSUPA speeds. But then I looked at your screenshot and you're maxing out at 1.3 up just like the rest of us (your higher upload speeds have the wifi icon next to them).

I see how what I wrote could easily be mistaken. What I meant was 1.2 to 1.5 up. I'm sorry, I worded that poorly.
For anyone who wants to flash just the EP4P Modems only. All radios are independent of rom version.
I take no credit for this whatsoever, as it was simply pulled from the most recent leak by P3Droid. Flash at your own risk! If you need to be explained how to do it you most likely shouldn't!

Seems to be working great! Up/down is 12MB/9MB. Sometimes I get 30MB/10MB, but my average is 23MB/7MB. I'm not complaining. Thanks!
Been using this modem build for almost a week now...so far these are the clear gingerbread favorite in my opinion. great data speeds and almost no 4g to 3g drop-offs. i'd definitely give it a try over any of the other gingerbread modems.
Better Wifi
I installed this an have already noticed a drastic improvement in Wi Fi signal. Thanks!
I am getting the garble robotic voice crap on this modem anybody else have that issue im using Humble 5 at the moment.
I've been running these with the Humble package, and haven't been getting good results. Data drops and slower speeds. EP1W seems best IMO.
Gotta be better than my data on and off for days.Gonna try it again.

I still get a little robot voice too. Maybe not as bad as it was. However the terribly annoying cut in/out seems to be gone for me.

I've tried other radios and every time I lose data. I'm I missing something?

Well it took a while to get into download mode, but finally and this puppy is installed. Like someone said, there is a huge increase in WIFi signal and the 3g signal is holding mostly steady at -95 dbm which is excellent in my house. It usually is and -105 or -115 dbm.

Oh, I am running Frayo. See!
This (not very scientific) test was all done on Serenity KJ3 4.2. I ran the test 3 times and in order to get an average. It was done in the same location, with the same server chosen in SpeedTest Mobile app. I did this mainly to pinpoint which captivate modem worked best for me in my area (South East Florida), so keep in mind that you will probably get different results depending on where you are.
I'm just sharing this in case someone finds it useful. I'll try and add new modems as they come out.

Well, I ran this at like 4 am when I couldn't get to sleep.. Don't know how many people were on at the time, but I'm sure it's less than usual lol
Either way, like I said in the OP, this a very non-scientific test.

What about 1900 vs 850mhz?
I've done the "test" in the past with i9000 modems.... but I separated the frequencies cause it makes a difference.
Also signal strength..... I made sure that I had greater than -85db

Good suggestions.. I'll do a more in depth test when I get a chance. I just got lazy since these modems are RAT Restricted, and doing the little trick to change frequencies takes longer..

no problem... I do think though that the RAT issue is phone related...... I have no issues getting in to service mode.

Hi.
I have recently bit the bullet and upgraded my sensation to one of the leaked ice cream sandwich roms purely because I fancies a change. My initial impressions were that it was not really offering anything different however one major plus is the battery life as it's definitely better. Not sure what they have tweaked or turned off however its certainly better.
Anyone else noticed any big improvements when running one or three leaks?
Cheers

Yep, I thought the same, I'm running RCMix v2.1 and it seems better than it did with stock, could be an illusion though as I only had it stock for a few days so was constantly using it!
Thats one thing I have noticed, its a nice new look, and battery is a lot better
ty
It is definitely better battery life. I'll post up some stats once I settle on a ROM.
i noticed that,too...and it's on stock kernel, imagine how good it will be when htc releases kernel source and our great devs make them even better
Pretty light usage. 50 minutes screen on time and just 20 minutes of calls. But still 75% at the end of the day is awesome.

I've got the opposite experience, been trying 3 ICS ROM:s so far and the battery life is overall about 2/3 of the latest offical sensation rom release. The standby time has improved, but i watch a lot of videos and the battery then burns about 30% per hour.
I'm on the verge to revert, as it is now I have to charge atleast 2 times a day.
Have you upgraded your firmware to match Billun?
My Sensation worked fine without issue without using the firmware on an ICS build but then I altered to the new ICS firmware and my battery life nearly doubled.

Yes, I did upgrade the firmware aswell.
I've also tried to install the full RUU beta but the battery lifetime is the same.
As it is now I have to charge atleast once every 12 hours.
The standby time is very good but as soon as i start using the phone i can literally see the battery disapper.
I've been using the ICS version of Insert Coin for a couple of weeks, and I've found the battery life to be worse than under Gingerbread. I'm hoping that's just because of the beta nature of the ROM :-/
I have recently noticed that my wifi has dropped in download speed since changing over to cm7. I've been trying to read up on the cm7 forum. But its a daunting task and haven't found anyone with the same issue. I went from averaging around 18mbps to 22mbps download speed to around 6mbps on wifi. Upload doesn't seem to be affected at all, still running at around 4mbps. Ping time has also gone up.
I work for the internet provider so I have trouble shot everything on my end.
Just wondering if there is a patch or fix or even somewhere to read up on this issue. Cause right now my h+ speed is almost as fast as my wifi and that sucks.

Well I've tweeked about everything I can think of with no avail. Still can't get the wifi back to stock performance.
The thing that boggles me the most is at one point I did a battery pull and on reboot my phone for about 60 sec. had peak wifi download speed. But after that it went back to the same slow speeds I reported in the first post. Anyone with any ideas or has had and fixed this problem please let me know.

What do you mean by mode? Its running dhcp/static IP, wpa2psk-tkip security. Running on channel 11 mode supports B,G,N bands.
Doesn't seem to show what band my phone is actually connecting in the status.

I really don't think its the router. Running blast internet on the newest gateway Comcast offers. Plus I've changed all the settings removed all security and same issue.
Wifi worked fine on stock rom before and after s-off with bubbys root. My girlfriends optimistic/Phoenix droid gets good wifi.
Wifi has been choppy and slow every since I loaded cm7. No change when switching kernels from cm7's to lorDmods.
Talked to lordmod and the issue doesn't seem to be in his kernel. Which I figured because it was since I didn't work with cm7s either.
From what I can tell I have the right radio combo.
I'm wondering if there is a setting in like build.prop to adjust the band. It seems like I'm running b or g bandwidth. Or a conflicting code?

Not really sure what did it. But just for the record.
Loaded leedroidv5.1.1..... [edit].... full factory wipe internal and SD, Reloaded cm7, manually loaded all apps, flashed GPS patch (works great), changed wifi scan in build.prop from 15 to 180, reboot and golden!!!!!
It was either the GPS patch or the build.prop edit or a combo of the two that did it.
So happy!
