I think a CM9 version for the O3D is not that far away. I think I remember seeing a video where arcee (the CM developer for the LG devices) was showing an early ICS build.
More important than ICS is ghost call issues on GB BB. If it continues in ICS then I will get rid of the damn phone and get SGIII.

IF LG botched GB after making us wait 3 month extra claiming that they are taking their sweet time to release a perfect GB then I think with ICS either they will not release it or when they do it will be buggier than GB. I think when they designed this phone it was designed for froyo. Our only hope is a good CM ROM, I have completely lost faith in LG to fix the issues with this phone.

They said Q3, so you can expect it in September, if not later. Maybe around July/August we gonna start to see any "leaked" ICS ROM out there, but it is just a maybe, we know how LG is.
CM running ICS but without 3D is IMO worthless, It is great when I run it on my Nexus S for example or on other devices, that doesn't have 3D functionality ,but on O3D ? without 3D I don't really think it is even worth a try. As soon as I see CM9 with 3D , I would be the first one to donate more than a couple of beers to them, I do really appreciate their very hard work.
there will not be a ics port for the o3d until a ics compatible camera driver shows up either coming from a p920/925 or similar omap device.

I thought from these forums the original Froyo was just a test? It wasn't perfect. I remember Windows 3.0. It wasn't perfect but I still bought computers. I just played with them and waited. A high school student posts a rooted version of the update within hours of it arrival. Open source and bright people, a good combination. The changes will come, now a tip of the hat to these folks who work so hard.

LOL, a leak of a leak. You def didnt come from the Vibrant camp, we had something like 5-6 Froyo leaks before we got it pseudo-officially, it was ridiculous

Of course this isn't official. These companies know if the put these "leaks" out we will gobble them up, test them for bugs and let them know about them.
Early adopters of anything tech are always beta testers. I was one of the first with the G1 and the Vibrant. While I'm no dev, I feel (as we all should) part of what has made android what it is today.
LG is still relatively new in the android game. Next year (or sooner) I'm sure we'll see them drop another beast but they will know a lot more. Sort of along the lines of the Galaxy line.
And this isn't really development.

Use the LG Mobile Update software. I don't know how much official this can get from the manufacturer.
The Samsung Vibrant started having leaks like every week, they ended up having a gb update through their kies program that tmo said wasn't official

SWEET! THANKS! I cant wait for it! I know this is not ICS and to some may not be as exciting as it is for me. I just wanted something to flash... I and I'm sure many of others have the flash bug where we need to flash a rom every so often to feel pleased lol. A debloated, de-odexed, zip-aligned rom HAS to be worth flashing... Its not ICS but hell its better than nothing since development for the T-869 is pretty much non existent until now. Hopefully a dev with kernel skills can bring that to the table for us and make it even better!

I think T-Mobile's pretty good with updates, although I could be wrong. I think they just need to wait for Samsung to get off their @ss, after that tmobile needs to bloat it further with their software AND test it. So I would wager late summer/fall at best. just my guess.

I agree. I think that developers will be able to whip something up off of the ICS build for the SII though.
Only reason i wanted ICS was for the CM9 Progress to maybe have a bit of a headstart....if we don't get ICS by my sophomore year than i might as well ship my phone back to Samsung for a refund and do some business with Klondike.

The main thing I'm looking forward to with ICS is the alleged better battery life/management.
Other than that, the videos I've seen with TW over it make it look pretty much the same as it does now, so I'm not sure we gain that much there...

haha first, well actually I was I hope you enjoy it, its a major improvement and step forward from what we have so far, if you happen to get any lock up on boot just battery pull and power back on it'll go through, worse case scenario fix permissions in recovery then boot if it gives you any problems. boots right up for me though, a few minute delay but it goes.

Thanks, I just wanna see it done, I'm not doing it for the thrill of credit, I'm doing it because I'm aggravated Samsung devices are booting HTC ROM's that we can't even get on our device. Its total BS that the Epic got a booting Sense 4.0 ROM before us.

I think a good reason they got it before us is that they have a whole lot more devs then us... We've lost a lot of devs to the new HTC One series and the HTC Evo 4G LTE.. I doubt I'm going anywhere for at least a year. I bought my Shift out of contract and hooked it up straight to CricKet, $55 a month and can do everything Sprint can do. Only way I'm moving on is if I break it or lose it.

im really surprised too. i would have thought AT&T would have been the first phone they worked on. im so desperate for a new rom, ill take anything. even a debloated stock rom. im really hoping for a speedy release of cyanogenmod.

The At&t roms is difficult to find, and i have this phone and i lived out of the us , and is very disgusting SEE this logo of at&t every day and i have issues with the LTE in my country, despite is the same band of AT&T y need to know if a new rom can resolve my problems of Conectivity and LTE in my device, the At&t rom blocked the menu in the phone for a changue BANDS: GSM - EDGE - LTE and i cant changue or SETTING a band, I need to know if is probably to find a rom like the rom of 855 or better version and forger forever the STOCK room At&t pleas HELP
You know you guys can use an app called 3c ( formally Android Tuner ) and you can DeOdex your stock ROM , Trim Partitions, ZipAlign + all sorts of other very useful stuff. You can completely debloat your phone as well.
In the mean time that's what I would just do, although I greatly appreciate a Dev bringing a stock debloated DeOdexed ROM to the table, you can pretty much just do all that yourself and you'll learn a thing or two on the way!

People are working on roms they are not a quick release. Non stock roms will come it just takes awhile. You have to build a proper device tree then troubleshoot to get the bugs worked out. Once the device tree and bugs are worked out most roms will just have to be compiled from source. It will happen but I think it will be a month or two. As for modified stock that takes time too especially if you want to add modification without the use of xposed you have to decompile apk's and modify them using smali and that takes time.

The major thing I think people are forgetting is that their might be a few and/or a lot of kernel/roms ready to release already...we are waiting on The bump website to be released so that we can bump the New roms and kernels. I know that I have a built kernel waiting on that very thing and it's flash city!!! When the bump site drops I wouldn't be surprised if you don't see a few flashables drop within hours of that release. It will come I promise you that and when it does people will be fussing about ETAs on Lollipop builds. If you have been on XDA long enough you realize it's the nature of the beast...the endless cycle of why we have forums rules yet a lot of people do not abide by them nor read them. Peace out
