Hi all, I know that there are a couple of threads about the OTA already but they're all fragmented and not quite helpful, so I thought I'd pitch in.
Today an OTA of 2.3.6 was publicly released for the A2. Although it's not ICS, or even 2.3.7, it's still much more stable and faster. Here's some of the details:
-Much improved camera app! (The original was pretty faulty)
-Enhanced keyboard
-Possibly the first AT&T bloatware to ever be useful, with visual voicemail and ---Syncing of texts/calls to the cloud
-Improved Hotspot and Webtop
-Fixes to any problems with haptic feedback
-Call ending does not lag! (as much)
-Uses MUCH less RAM
For all the details check out this link.
At the moment no one has discovered a root protocol for our version of 2.3.6... i.e. it can't be rooted. I personally have tried flashing/reflashing the fxz, updating, and trying different exploits, all of which has failed. I doubt that we will find a way to root this 2.3.6 any time soon. However, the devs here are working hard at implementing 2.3.6 with root in their ROMs. (The latest Supercharged ROM is based off of 2.3.6!) If you want to have your device rooted with 2.3.6 and you're currently on 2.3.5 (rooted), follow these instructions:
With a root explorer, navigate to /system/bin/ and edit the mount_ext3.sh file. If you used a 1-click root method, then add the following lines to the end of the file (if you manually rooted then you might want to omit the 1st/2nd line):
Code:
chmod 4755 /system/bin/su
chmod 4755 /system/xbin/su
chmod 4755 /system/app/Superuser.apk
To apply the update, go to Settings->About Phone->System update and it should prompt you to update. Make sure you're connected to wifi and then hit "OK". If you have heavily modified your phone then I suggest that you flash the fxz first, then root it, then apply the hack above, then update. Also, although the A2 has the ability to uninstall most bloatware without rooting, the update requires that ALL BLOATWARE MUST BE INSTALLED. If you uninstalled any bloatware then you will have to flash the fxz first.
NOTE: once you apply the update you will NEVER be able to flash the 2.3.5 fxz! You need to replace some files first! To flash the fxz, follow these directions:
-Download this file: View attachment replace.zip
-Unzip it and move all the the items in it to the stock fxz. You might get a warning about replacing files, just click OK. NOTE that Windows might not be able to handle the size of the fxz. I have 6 GB RAM but Windows still wasn't able to perform a drag-and-drop through the fxz's zip. I recommend that you just unzip the fxz and then put the files in. (You don't have to rezip it either, RSD Lite will still recognize it and will flash faster).
-You should be able to use RSD Lite to flash the file.
Please note that this is not a support thread, it is an info/how-to thread... if you have any problems then make a thread about it, and be as detailed as possible.
Enjoy!

-Replace the following files from the fxz with the files found in the OTA download: cdt.bin and device_tree.bin
-Now edit the xml file found in the fxz. Delete the following lines:
Code:
<step operation="flash" partition="boot" filename="boot.img" MD5="8E9D7DD161180EC898E4F2BA5395B29E" />
<step operation="flash" partition="recovery" filename="recovery.img" MD5="E0F3D8A778ECE612869E8200F0C21B26" />

Does anybody have cdt.bin and device_tree.bin from 2.3.6? I think that my /cache was erased by FXZ so I can't pull it using ADB.
edit: Thanks So Much to Jim!!!!

The issue appears to be resolved with this update.
Major improvement in battery life
I noticed an oddity with my update. I shelled in to apply the forever_root hack and thought I'd watch /cache/ for the update file. (btw, in the absence of vi, echo "yer text" >>' works quite well) I started the update download and watched a new file show up in /cache. There were two:
Blur_Version.55.11.16.MB865.ATT.en.US.crc
Blur_Version.55.11.16.MB865.ATT.en.US.zip
but these have the old MB865 OS version, what gives?
the update completed and says I have the new 55.13.25 OS.
btw, root was preserved and the update went fine after unfreezing all bloatware.

I knew i wasnt the only one. It really is better.
Keyboard seems more accurate. The vibration feedback is much less intense now.
I really like this update. Makes the almost perfect phone that much more perfect.
Since the app install issue is gone, memory card issue gone (i had to buy a new card), better battery life. I cant think of anything id change.

I just attempted to upgrade to 2.3.6 today, and it seems to be in a boot loop. It does the M logo with the ripples and proceeds to the AT&T thing, but then restarts? Is this normal? What should I do?

Your on the right track. My guess is you were rooted and removed something the patch affects. Likely one of the bloatware apks. Good luck!

If the update failed at the beginning then flashing the stock fxz is what you should do. If the stock fxz fails to flash then that means that your phone was at least partly updated, so follow the instructions for flashing the fxz from 2.3.6 in the OP.
Either way you are on the right track.

In either recovery you can do a nandroid backup. Do a full backup in case anything goes wrong you can restore phone to its previous state. If you have apps2sd running you will want to select the option that does ext backup as well. Basically its best that every time you have your system working the way you like it to do a nandroid backup so you always have the most recent restore point for your phone.
Alternately, if you simply want to backup applications or system settings individually download MyBackup or Titanium backup You can opt to save application data so that all of your application settings and such are saved as well.

Enable Swap
**Note** Each location on a flash memory card can only be written to so many times before it stops working correctly. Since swap will cause the swap partition to be written to frequently, there is a potential issue of wearing out part of a flash memory card. If a card wears out while using swap, your system will malfunction and crash.
Wear leveling is a mechanism that distributes write wear uniformly over the entire memory card by dynamically remapping logical memory blocks to different physical memory blocks over time. This largely alleviates the issue of card wear when using applications such as swap that tend to write to the same memory blocks over and over.
Anecdotal reports on the 'net indicate that most Class 6 microSDHC include hardware wear leveling, while Class 4 and lower cards typically don't. A-Data and Transcend Class 6 cards were specifically cited as having hardware wear leveling. Many people have used these cards for swap without issue. In the end it is your decision on whether you want to take the risk of running swap. Many respected developers here recommend you not use it.

I can throw it on there as well, but I think it belongs here as much as it does there. xda-dev forums are here to help all, and have a much larger user base. A large number of g1 users here use cyanogen. And besides a lot of this can be used for other roms as well. It's simply a quick reference guide to help people out.
To be safe, if you already have the newest radio 2.22.23.02, I say DOWNGRADE to 26i. That way when you're flashing the Danger SPL you decrease your chance of getting a brick.
I know thins because I accidentally bricked my friends G1 because he had the newest radio(2.22.23.02) when I flashed Danger over it..
I wouldn't know how to write out the steps so if you kindly would.
And if you already have 26i whoopy dooo for you less work.

I'm talking about the SPL. When I flashed Danger over 2.22.23.02 I bricked my friends phone.
What xaueious means is that flashing a radio or SPL through recovery has been proven dangerous. We don't fully understand why, but we do know that you run close to 0 risk if you flash through fastboot instead. Danger has been shown running on old 1.x radio's before, only if they are flashed through fastboot.

Yeah, it really is. I must say that this is the best ROM so far. I do have one major issue where I cannot select an APN and therefore have no 3G / 2G connection. Needless to say, this is a huge issue which may render the ROM to be unusable for me... Let me know what you guys experience if there's still some people willing to install new ROMs on their device
Do you mean there is no way to set the APN? I'm seriously considering flashing this ROM, but this APN issue that you mentioned is holding me back...

When you make sure you create a backup you can check and always restore the backup. The APN issue might also be related to my carrier or SIM card.
Please note that I definitely had to format /data (ie. factory defaults) because it will not work with the data of another rom. Also make sure to make an extra backup of your backup onto your system, just to be sure - in my case it has created corrupt files many times (ie. 0 kb)...
Good luck!

Hi all,
I checked today and the external SD is available, but not under /mnt/external_sd but under /mnt/sdcard/external_sd. Not sure why it is in a subfolder, but see below some screenprints to demonstrate this. If anyone knows how to solve something like this, let me know
Regards,
Nika.
Well, that was easy, changed the vold.fstab and build.prop files and zipped it. Works fine when installed using cwm recovery. /mnt/external_sd is now the correct external sdcard
You can download the new version here:

While searching for a solution to fix my APN problem, I also changed the default language into English. APN is still an issue, so if someone knows what can cause APNs not to list in MIUI ROMs I'd love to know
Here's the download for the English version of this ROM (including the external storage fix ):

Be interesting to see if this will flash to my device, seeing as none of the other custom ROMs have ever done so...
EDIT: Well, it installed OK and runs, but like you, I have no APN's and setting them up manually doesn't seem to work. Also, a fair number of FC's, especially when trying to search networks...
EDIT2: This appears relevant to the APN problem: http://www.modaco.com/topic/351027-cannot-add-apn-with-both-cyanogen-and-miui/

I've not had any FC's - did you Factory Reset / wipe cache etc?
For APN, I'll see whether I have time to test this week. My device is getting buggier by the day, sdcard is not working anymore and has random reboots, so I may need to take it apart again. sdcard is quite a problem as that is impossible to reach without spare-parts did you see the "take device apart" device on the russian forum? quite cool

I needed internet, so for now, I've flashed back to my previous ROM. TBH, I'm not a fan of MIUI, but at least the bloody thing installed!
Oh, what I wouldn't give for ICS or better, JB, on our Smarts....
Yeah ICS would totally rock on the Smart ! too bad Vache broke his, he only needed to fix 3G on CM9. Well "only" may not be the word. Thepasto is using Vache's source to get CM9 on the Liquid MT and they weren't able to get 3G working so far.

Damn..
I really wish more devs would pick up Acer devices... I'd do it myself, but with a full time programming job and a family, I just don't have the time to learn the intricacies of ROM building.

Agree, but I must say, that MIUI build is half not as bad as I expected! It really is good, definitely better than stock (other than the APNs not working for some SIMs - note the Russians do not seem to have any issue with it)...

I don't suppose there's any ROM builders out there who can take a look at this and see if they can do anything about the APN issue, is there?
Hi all,
Anyone interested in TeamWin Recovery Project (TWRP)? I've build an initial test version:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1882747
To figure out how to mount the internal sdcard, can someone run the following commands on their device?
Code:
adb shell
su
cat /proc/mounts
cat /proc/emmc
ls -lR /dev/block | busybox egrep -i "rec|sos"
Regards,
Nika.

Hi KR,
It can be done from both terminal on the phone or PC. Did you root your device? You should be doing to following when doing it on the PC (easiest):
1. Root your device, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17569226
2. With rooting you also install drivers for adb, so that's ok
3. Connect your device with USB
4. Open a Command Prompt
5. Run "adb shell" (adb.exe is also available in the files for the recovery)
5. Type the following commands:
Code:
adb shell
su
cat /proc/mounts
cat /proc/emmc
ls -lR /dev/block | busybox egrep -i "rec|sos"
After each command you can copy/paste the results. Wrap the results between CODE tags when pasting it here or use stuff like http://pastebin.com/ and return the results
Thanks!
Regards,
Nika.

Root Transmission: the ONLY app that allows you to root other phones straight from your own device!
Inspired by Kos's p2p-adb hacking toolkit (http://hak5.org/episodes/hak5-1205), this app is a pleasant, easy way to root other phones while away from your computer! Just two buttons, Root and Unroot! Connect the cable and root away! It couldn't be simpler!
Even has its own terminal window so you can see exactly what's going on while your phone does its thing!
You will need a ROOTED device capable of USB hosting (USB On The Go), a USB OTG cable and one-click root scripts for the devices you wish to root.
Scripts and their associated files should be placed in /sdcard/RootTransmission/*devicename*/*version*/, otherwise it will not be available for use. *devicename* and *version* can be whatever you want.
Note that this is an UNSTABLE version, and you use this app at your own risk. Occasional force closes are to be expected (though they will most likely not break the phone you are trying to root). Incorrectly written scripts can permanently damage or brick both devices involved, so only use trusted 3rd party root scripts and at your own risk.

Please do not mirror this apk, it is to be downloaded exclusively from XDA-Developers. Failure to comply will result in the removal of this app from XDA.
I've attached a zip with the files needed to root a Verizon Galaxy S3 (SCH-I535), extract it to /sdcard/RootTransmission/ to use.
Note that since I only have one USB host-capable device (my own S3), no warranty is provided over the functionality of this zip since I am unable to fully test it. (It is a repackaged version of the DebugFS one-click root found at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1883984 and thus will only work if the device to be rooted is running ICS, which shouldn't be a problem as of yet.)
Again, this is an unstable test version. It should mostly work, but no guarantees on its functionality.

In order to run the app, your device (the device that is already rooted) must support USB hosting/USB OTG. Most newer devices have this.
This app uses adb and scripts (which you must provide) to root devices. If there is a root method for the device that uses adb, then it will work.
In the case of the Verizon Galaxy S3 (my primary device), the root method for a stock ROM is to use adb to push an exploit that will allow us to install Superuser and the su binary. I believe the Asus Transformer Prime uses a similar method.
If the only root method available involves using a program such as Odin/Heimdall or a manufacturer's phone flashing utility, or a zip must be flashed in recovery in order to gain root, it will definitely not work. In the case of the HTC Sensation, you must flash a recovery and boot into it, then flash a zip containing the su binary as well as a controller app such as Superuser in order to gain root. So the HTC Sensation could NOT be rooted with this.
In the future I plan on building a compatibility chart within the app to determine which phones can run this app and which phones can be rooted with it, as well as downloads for the rooting process. In the meantime, if there is a phone you are looking to root with this, let me know and if possible, I'll craft a zip to use with this.
Updated Root Transmission to 1.01unstable.
Following changes were made:
-bugfix: app occasionally FC'd when closing app
-bugfix: app crashed if scripts directory did not exist
-smaller size (166k, old version was 1.62mb)
-made it available only for 4.0 and up (had it set to 3.1 and up by accident)
Available in first post or in the Play Store.
Keep sending in those bug reports, it really helps!
Also, if you have any new features you want to suggest, let me know.
I'm considering the following so far:
-Downloading scripts in-app
-Nicer GUI
-Help text
Added script for the Asus Transformer tablets (TF101/TF201/TF300T/TF700T) to the first post. It will only root tablets on 4.0 or below.
This app looks promising, keep it up this great work, :fingers-crossed:
Theoretically could this run any script over adb on another device. not just a root one?
one x
Hey does this work with the one x international version?
I believe that in order for the app to work properly, adb must be running as root, so no. It's not possible to use this with a non rooted phone.
HTC One X should be able to be rooted (as well as other devices relying on fastboot), but I haven't added support for it yet. A fastboot binary for ARM is available, so I'll package that into the app for next release. Stay tuned. However, I don't know about unlocked bootloaders and all that on HTC devices, so beware.
I'm also going to take a look at the Heimdall source code later so that you can perform Odin flashes over USB. This means that basically any Samsung phone should be able to be rooted, even without a one click root script.
All this stuff will take time though, and with school still going on it might take some time. But I'm definitely working on it!

Would it be possible to use this app to flash unsecured boot.img and then recoveries? Basically have it set up to download the recoveries and boot.img from a ftp or something? Can we basically just use the host phone as a standard ADB and Fastboot commander? Using regular commands?

there is a problem parsing the package
there´s any fix?

That would be awesome, let me know if you need some help testing. I've been wanting to be able to do this for awhile. It would pretty much eliminate the need for a computer when flashing roms on devices that have their bootloader already unlocked.

EDIT : No offence for calling you a rookie , I may have underestimated you , because your work is amazing , but I was talking the Java side of your knowledge , sorry if I offended you !

I know that the options menu is there, but I'm planning on adding to its functionality so there's no point in removing it yet. Don't worry, I didn't forget about it
Also, I only have one year of experience in Java, so my skills definitely are not the most top notch out there. I'd say not bad for being self taught though.
Anyway, in app downloads should be working by this weekend, depending on how much homework I get this week. Did a lot of it today, just need to make the frontend for it. After that I'll work on improving the GUI, because I really couldn't be bothered to spend more than 5 minutes making it what it looks like right now.
Expect an update in the next few days

Here are the steps required to backup the Fuhu Nabi 2, install a custom recovery, root, and gapps using Ubuntu(12.10) Linux.
This also works on Windows(other than installing adb and fastboot) if you just remove the 'sudo' from the commands.
For a scripted Windows install, check out Nabi Lab: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36758895
Original root from jmztaylor, Includes the new gapps(t499user) and the new TWRP 2.3.3.0 from aicjofs(thanks!)
You should do all of the OTA updates before rooting(otherwise you might lose WiFi) When I posted this the latest version was 1.9.37. Settings>About Tablet>Update>Check Update
Download the needed files then extract all of the files to your home folder to begin. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6529005/Fuh...Backup-Root-Recovery-Gapps 30December2012.zip
Open a terminal(ctrl+alt+t) and run the following command to install ADB and Fastboot (Universe).
Code:
sudo apt-get install android-tools-adb android-tools-fastboot
On the device, enable USB debugging in Settings>Developer options, then connect USB cable.
Just in case the adb server is already running, lets kill it using:
Code:
adb kill-server
Now we will start the server and reboot the device:
Code:
sudo adb reboot-bootloader
Once the device has rebooted into the bootloader, we will flash the new recovery image using fastboot:
Code:
sudo fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
When fastboot is finished, boot the new recovery kernel on the Nabi2 by pressing vol+ then vol-(down to recovery) then vol+ to select.

We will push the follwing files to the device.
First we will push the Root file.
Code:
adb push root.zip /sdcard/root.zip
Now we will push the Google Apps File
Code:
adb push gapps.zip /sdcard/gapps.zip
This is the script that will backup then install Root and Google Apps onto the device.(you can also skip the script and do it manually if you like, but make sure you do a backup)
Code:
adb push backup-root-gapps.openrecoveryscript /cache/recovery/openrecoveryscript
Now we will reboot the device and let the script do it's thing.
Code:
adb reboot recovery
Once you log into your device, start up SuperSU to make sure that root 'sticks'.
Your Fuhu Nabi2 is now rooted, w/gapps, and a custom recovery, Now click on the "thanks" button
NOTE: The following is if you ever need to do an OTA update, which requires the original Nabi2 recovery.
Download the original Nabi2 recovery image to your home folder https://www.box.com/s/9ogqkk8uu71bqrnpz9w1
Reboot the device into the bootloader
Code:
sudo adb reboot-bootloader
Finally we will flash the original recovery image to the device
Code:
sudo fastboot flash recovery nabi2_original_recovery.img
Thank you very much! In about 10 minutes, everything was the way things should be! Specifically, a nicely rooted tablet so that my son could thoroughly his tablet! Now if I can get XBMC working properly, then life would be perfect! Thanks again!!!!
Fuhu Nabi2 Common issues and FAQ.
Glad it helped you out! It's a great little tablet.
To make Nabi2 more like a regular tablet now that you have Root and Google Play, you can prevent the tablet from starting Nabi Mode/Monarch UI by checking the box in Settings>Security>'Set Parent Mode as default mode'.
You can also remove the files in the /vendor/app/ folder if you want to free up some space. Just make sure to have 'Parent Mode as default mode' checked before you remove these files, or when you reboot the tablet it will give you a blank screen.
Code:
NvCPLSvc.apk, fuhu_AddApps.apk, fuhu_AppZone.apk, fuhu_Books.apk, fuhu_ChoreList.apk, fuhu_Crafts.apk, fuhu_Fan-a-tech.apk, fuhu_KidzMode.apk, fuhu_NabiCare.apk, fuhu_NabiCloud.apk, fuhu_NabiSpinletsPlusICS.apk, fuhu_NabiSpinletsPlusParentICS.apk, fuhu_NabiSync.apk, fuhu_OOBE.apk, fuhu_ParentalDashboard.apk, fuhu_SpinletPlusVideo.apk, fuhu_SwitchKids.apk, fuhu_TreasureBox.apk, fuhu_University.apk, fuhu_Videos.apk, fuhu_Web.apk, fuhu_nabiMD.apk
I used ES File Explorer to remove the files. First you have to go into the ES File Explorer settings and check all the boxes in 'Root Settings'. Alternatively you could use the file manager in the custom recovery we flashed in the first post or any other file manager with root capabilities.
If you need to get into fastboot or recovery manually, turn off the Nabi2 and then hold the vol+ and power button until the menu comes up. You use the vol- to navigate and the vol+ to select.

Thanks for this man. The only thing I'd recommend is adding a piece, or a URL, on how to add the repo's for apt to pull those adb packages. These commands you step through are handy in *nix or Windows(-sudos). Thanks again!
Thanks, I didn't even notice that adb and fastboot were in the Universe repos as I had it enabled already.
I'll go double check then. I am running Ubuntu 13 off USB stick now and had enabled universe repo but maybe didn't get a clean update before checking for pkg. Will try again and see what's up...
I thought it required some custom repos, nothing preconfigured. If it is in universe my bad.

Here is a quote from tikiral on installing ADB and Fastboot on Windows.
tikiral said:
Speaking of posts
@shizzy t499's post is really an excellent guide. The only thing you'd change if you're on Windows is that instead of doing the 'apt-get' you'll just download and install the SDK Tools from Google (http://dl.google.com/android/installer_r21.0.1-windows.exe) > Start up the SDK Manager.exe file from the install directory > Scroll to the very bottom > Check off Extras>Google USB Driver > Click Install packages...
After install, you should be able to go into Device Manager and update the driver's on any stray android devices and bam, you should be all set to go.
Thanks again for all the info @t499.

Finally got a chance to perform this on my Nabi 2. Installed with no problems what so ever and was quick too. I performed the install using Ubuntu 12.10. I found it much easier and less stressful this way. Now I have to do this to both my daughters Nabi 2 tablets.
I just finished up removing the Monarch UI apps for a normal tablet. Man I really love this tablet. I have almost all my G apps installed which I have been wanting for some time now.
Just follow the instructions to the letter and you can't go wrong with Linux. Now if we could get Jelly Bean on this it would be awesome! I posted a question about the Nabi XD in the Q&A and posted specs comparing both if anyone caught it. I am pretty sure it's possible if someone can get a hold of the XD and port it over.
Thanks again t499user and all the devs that worked to make this tablet usable.
Glad it worked for you! I would love to see some JB action on here.

The default recovery would only be needed if you have to apply a new OTA update. Other than that, I would just leave the TWRP recovery, but it has no effect on the play store.

Have you tried to restore the unrooted stock backup that was made in the beginning of jmz rootpackage, if you didn't make 1 or use it. There are some stock posted. Unrar and put in TWRP/BACKUPS/your number folders and restore from TWRP recovery RESTORE. I have and was completely back to stock.
You can find stock in jmz files but it is any older version. Look thru the many post tho and others have posted stock 1.9.37

I have tried to just flash the stock recovery. I thought this should be enough to do OTAs. Maybe I could find another stock recovery besides the one noted...

That is the stock recovery, it will happen that way if you don't install root.zip, and possibly after an update.
To get to the menu of the stock recovery, after getting to android laying down, you push the vol buttons.
Really hoping someone can help me. Im trying to Root the Nabi 2 on my Mac. Im following the command lines, without the "sudo" text, and when i flash the recovery, my terminal says waiting for device, and nothing happens.
i know my adb is working, bc it detects the Nabi 2 when i run the ADB devices command, and it will reboot into the bootloader.
Any suggestions??
Edit
Found this link, and all worked out. Didn't have to root, or flash recovery or anything like that, but i only really need youtube as of right now, so it worked well for me

Guess might be your tab............works for me. just perform a wipe, reboot the back into recovery and wipe once more.
Install rom, wipe and install rom again.
Reboot and see if it works for you. (can flash gapps later and super su if u need)
Can't access download link
Its weird! AFH says I dont have access to file, Dev-Host just direct me to their homepage, and mirror link is in chinese so I dont have any idea what buttons to hit. Is it just me? Anyone here who can guide me how to download the file?

Downloading now! Using google chrome I was able to translate mirror link page to English.
Edit 2:
Successfully flash the Rom via TWRP 2.8.6.0
As mentioned in the OP
- quicksettings pulldown can only be pulled once.
- adjusting brightness slider do nothing
- torch is working
- system apps seems to load faster than cm12.
One thing that caught up my attention is that simcard is not recognized. Have to goto settings/about tablet and found out that baseband version is unknown. Shame cause I really think this rom is more fluid compare to cm12.
I was unable to test user's app due to simcard unavailability, hence 3G as well, as I heavily dependent on it.
Also noticed that 1st & 2nd boot is ok but on 3rd boot is only showing blank screen ( omni bootlogo not showing ) have to longpress power button a couple of times until omni bootscreen appears.. P6200 user here.
Thanks again to this ROM, pretty much stable , no soft reboots. Battery is good, Minor issues i could see.
Video playback is still an issue i believe, even in YouTube.
Thanks again
If this rom could see the daylight I will really love it. It's much better than cm12 . Aside the baseband issue in p6200 really would have preferred this .

Have just installed latest version 20150518. Installation process without any problem. System is running stable.:good:
But SIM-card is not found. Tried several times.
It's no problem with CM12.1 rom. So I'm back to CM12.1.

Well I guess I'll just have to wait for the next release. I'm sure @daniel_hk would fix this in future updates.

I don't have problem showing the baseband with or without a sim card. Don't know why some p6200 can't. It's the same modem chip and I'm using the same lib for both too.
Clean flash, Wait for a few minutes, etc.
Can anyone confirm that?
If really can't, in a terminal emulator type:
su (already rooted of course)
rild
see if any error message
here is the result:
WARNING: linker: libsec-ril.so has text relocations. This is wasting memory and prevents security hardening. Please fix.
rm: /data/misc/radio/dlink: permission denied
it is also showing invalid IMEI and unknown baseband version.

The first one is just a warning because of the only old blob we have.
The second line means the daemon is not start. I'll look into it but I need someone with a p6200 to test for me.

I think I found the reason. There is a file missing. View attachment libsecril-client.zip
unzip the above zip will get the file libsecril-client.so. Copy the file to /system/lib with a root browser (eg. ES FileExplorer) will do.
Hoping it work for t869 too. t869 owners are welcome to test too.
Good luck!
PS. Will include it in the next build

Was about to try that and alert you. Compared the lib folder for cm12.1 to that of omni and Realized the same missing libsecril-client.so and a couple of others. Looks like you got to it first. Anyway thinking of creating a flashable package for it. [emoji4] [emoji4] [emoji4]
OTG -Wifi???
@daniel_hk This may be stupid but i have to ask u.Does this kernel support USB Wifi with OTG?
Tried the lib files provided and a couple of others from cm12.1...................same old. Installed CM12.1 again and tried the rild check and got the same error as mentioned by PugeAko , though baseband is working with that rom.
Will be pulling the lib from stock MF1 rom for our dear p6200 soon, to see what comes of it.
Will post my findings soon.
Edit:
Checked radio directory in cm12.1 vrs OMni and some files are missing in Omni. Pulled that from cm12.1 but this constant black screen booting of Omni is making me frustrated at the moment. Too much black screen. Trying to see if I can get a boot.
Edit2:
Giving up. Don't know what it is but cannot endure this constant black screen any longer and time is not a luxury that I can afford now, its preventing me from helping figure out how to fix this baseband issue. Going back to the buggy cm12.1 rom. This rom is promising though.

Each USB Wifi probably have different chips which requires drives supplied by the manufacture. For it to work, it requires HAL drivers/firmwares too. Normally there is a CD or place to download. Window might have some driver for a few chips. Linux (Android) would be another story.
Normally, a kernel would only have the drivers for the on board chips.

cm12.1 is probably the wrong place to try. Omin for p6800 would be the wiser choice.
Anyway, I will try to get it work on the next build.
