[Q] Can you use the bluetooth keyboard and mouse as a controller? - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is it possible to use the xoom Bluetooth keyboard and mouse as a controller in GTAIII for example?
regards,
Armitagej

no. Gta3 doesnt allow external controls (yet?).

Which controllers are supported in ICS then? Information seems to be sparse and out of date around the net.

Assuming you either have or buy a USB otg cable you can use the ps3 controller, wiimote and other Bluetooth devices. There is no support for external controllers in gta though.

Hey 063_Xobx thanks for the info. Much appreciated.
Oddly enough though, when I go to the nvidia Tegra Zone app, there is a little green check mark that says "controller" next to it. Any ideas?

Sorry but i forgot to add this. Read through this link i think what your looking for is in here!!!

and if you need to download other emulators from the developer "yongzh" which by the way his emulators cannot be found on the Market because Google is being big jerks about it, you can still download them using his website.

Just a warning/observation. While from reading, though I haven't tried it yet, you appear to be able to use two controllers via bluetooth, hooking two differnt working usb contoller to the usb ports on the dock doesn't work in either the snesoid, nor N64oid. Instead you will find both controllers control both characters on the screen.

with Snex9x Ex the app allows you to make a wiimote player 1 and another player 2.
I have used my wii remote (plus classic controller) with n64oid but 1 player only.
To do this I used WiiController from the market first before opening n64oid.
It may not work 2 player though as it seems to map wii controls to the keypad.
i'll give it a go in the next wee while
Edit - Just tried and I couldn't get n64oid to do 2 player.
Consolation Snes9x EX should do no problem.

Super Gnes has two player. I use sixaxis for PS3 controllers.
I'm looking for two player MAME/CPS2/Neo-Geo. Especially with this coming:

??? two player ???
Hello, I was wondering if I can connect 2 controllers to sixaxis and play it on N64oid. I tried one controller and works awesome, the second controller connects on sixaxis, but when I open a game on n64oid first controller works and the second one doesnt do anything. I then switched the controllers, but only whichever controller synced first works and the second one doesnt do anything. Please help...

You need to go into input settings and map the buttons for the second controller
Typed by my thumb.
Hoping to get an answer through this thread....
I have a TF201 with SNESoid from "Yongzh" and two PS3 Six-Axis controllers. Is there a way to play two player games using each of the controllers? I can get them both to "work", but they only control the 1st player. I have mapped one controller under controller 1 and the other under controller 2. Thing is, the button that is assigned to each control is the same, which is obvious since they are the same type of controllers, but I can't get the emulator to distinguish the two. Not sure if I make a ton of sense, but if you have a way to play 2 player on an SNES emulator for the TF201, I'd love to hear it.

Game Controller for the skyrocket

Searched but didn't find any info about the skyrocket.
I haven't tried one yet, but I think a Phonejoy may be a good option from what I have read.

Any updates?
anything on this?
Either the Wii remote or the PS3 controller?
As long as you have Bluetooth, both should work

Samsung replaced the regular Android Bluetooth stack with their own that doesn't support game controllers.
In order to get a Wii or PS3 Bluetooth controller working, going to need to use an AOSP-based build like Cyanogenmod.
There's a program from the Market that will enable support for Playstation 3 controllers. They can emulate mouse mode with their thumbsticks, etcetera, but the hard part is trying to find a game that's controller enabled.
The app sixaxis controller off of the market will work for our skyrocket. It will allow you to sync up to 4 ps3 bt controllers. Sixaxis controller also requires root access to work.
I am using mostly emu games and used Sixaxis seems to work well but you have to connect it manually from the PC if you connect your controller back to the PS3...
So I tried the wii but it wont connect...

[Q] Xbox controller and galaxy note

When ICS comes out for the galaxy will i be able to use the USB/BT joystick center app to use a xbox controller (with a wireless dongle) to play stuff like nova 2 etc. Just wondering if it'll work once the update is out

To quote their app description in the Play market;
- Support for Wireless Joysticks (PS3, X360, iCade, Wii Remote, iControlPad, Zeemote)

The app definitely supports the xbox controller.
As for your device, I see two main parameters that will determine whether it will work.
Android 3.2 (or newer) Device with USB Host Port

On the Samsung product specifications page for the note, they state that it does have a USB host port.
As well as:
(ICS 4.0.1) has no “USB Host API” support. You need ICS 4.0.2 to use USB Joysticks

Do you know what version of ICS it will have?

Well its been delayed slightly and the recent leak of the galaxy ics rom was 4.0.3 so i think that'll be the version
I think the OP is trying to use a wireless Xbox 360 controller with the USB receiver. Not sure if that will work, it might require special drivers. The wired controller would work though
well the software i was talking about has the drivers for the wireless receiver so i don't see why it wouldnt. I was also wondering about its compatibility with games etc.
hey guys i m not able to connect xbox wired controller to my galaxy note ! when i connect controller via OTG cable the controller light flashs 3 to 4 times and then the light stops flashing ! is there any way to connect wired controller ?

[Q] controller support?

i was wondering if anyone has tried using a wired 360 controller with the 7 inch tab?
i just subscribed to ONLIVE and was wondering if the 360 controller is supported?
or maybe the ps3 axis controller?
any info would be useful, thanks
I use the ps3 sixaxis controller with no issues. I use it for emulators. Available in the play store as "sixaxis controller".
Requires the use of your computer "first" to download the sixaxis program to "manually" input the Bluetooth ID into your ps3 sixaxis controller for pairing.
yup. sixaxis is compatible with tab 2 7.0.
see my personal video for games tested.

thanks for the input guys. has anyone tried the ps3 controller on the onlive app?

I'm going to take a shot in the dark with your question and say that it should work because sixaxis registers itself as a keyboard input. So you should be able to remap the onscreen inputs for onlive to the corresponding buttons on the ps3 sixaxis.
I'm not familiar with onlives controller so let's say if the onlive app has 4 action buttons that are registered as "a,b,c,d", then you would just remap sixaxis' "square, X, circle, triangle" to "a,b,c,d".
Hope that makes sense.
would a 3rd party ps3 controller still work?
I know nothing about these things but I can get a 3rd party controller a bit cheaper purely for my emulators
edit: I have a wired 360 controller here, how would I get that to work? thanks

For wired USB input devices, you need to buy the Samsung USB Connector EPL-1PL0BEGXAR. A wired 360 controller is plug and play.
Roughly about $10 on amazon

[Q] Controller App (Android to PC)

I was looking for an app that would emulate an XBOX 360 Controller on android and make it work via wifi to my PC.
It's like this apps of Mouse/Keyboard remote, so I could play away from PC, like laying on the bed. Is there an app like that?
Hello,
I never seen that kind of app.
How could an android (phone?) device replace a gamepad?
Or so, how could you use it?
To have an idea, test a snes emulator and you'll see that's not realy playable without true buttons/cross/sticks...
I would buy a wireless gamepad for computer or use a PS3 controller with a BT dongle.

The same way there's a WiFi Mouse & Keyboard app could be one WiFi Controller app.
I agree it's not as comfortable as a real gamepad but you get used to it. I have no problems playing games on ePSXe for example.
