RND 2nd battery charger and dock - Epic 4G Accessories

Just got this from Amazon and I love it! Has a cradle to charge (or sync, but I only use it to charge) and space to charge my second battery. I use a 3500mAh battery in addition to my stock battery when I travel. This charges both and works great. Has some nice features (little light that tells you when it is charging and when it is done, came with 2 USB cables.)
For under $16, you can't beat it.

Great Find!
I have been using that type of charger and dock for a while. Only thing is you cannot fit a extended battery 3500mAh because it will not fit into the cradle. You can always dock phone with regular size and charge the extended battery.

Sorry for the slow response; was installing Cyanogen last night. But Comando156 is spot on, that is the one.

Just a quick note for anyone looking to use this to sync their phone with their PC. That works just great as well. The more that I play with this, the more I like it.

Thanks, but how does it charge in that position ? That new technology idea ? Like the mats ?

The RND Power charger, the one from Amazon not the Newegg one, charges my 3500mAh battery just fine while also charging my phone (if I have my stock battery in, of course.)

Where can I get a dock charger for my 3500mah battery?

I've purchased two 3500mah batteries off ebay and would like to have some sort of dock charger so I can just charge one of the batteries while my phone is using the other one. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Yea, but I'm only seeing a dock charger for the phone itself. I need one for a 3500mah battery.
check this out
http://www.buy.com/pr/product.aspx?sku=224072509&sellerid=16060654
and it has a slot for a 2nd battery...sooo cool
I bought a 3500mAH battery and external battery charger from Amazon. The external charger plugs into 120VAC, has a 5V USB output and a charge indicator which indicates when the battery is fully charged.
Here's Amazon.com pages for just the charger:
http://www.amazon.com/LG-Battery-Ch...B8/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1324233294&sr=8-16
http://www.amazon.com/Battery-Deskt...QF2G/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1324233626&sr=8-2
I never charge my phone anymore, just switch out batteries using external charger
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
Have to make sure you get a charger that takes the battery right0side up (same way it goes into the phone)... On my Vibrant, I had the official Samsung spare battery charger, and it took the battery upside down. Which meant that the contacts on any extended battery wouldn't match up as the battery is too thick.
EDIT: Oh yeah, this might should be in the accessories forum....

[Q] What chager comes with HTC Sensation?

Hi,
I bought HTC Sensation as a second-hand (used) phone, and I got a charger which has written "Made in China" on it.
Although it does look like the same as I see in unboxing videos, i have some confusions. So, I tried to charge my phone with it and left it overnight. The battery was half charged in that long time and was losing charge percentage if used heavily while charging.
Since then, I did some attempts and notices following results:
>I used my brother's Sony Xperia Arc's charger on my phone and the results (charging speed) are better now.
>I also used Samsung's USB cable to charge via pc and it is also giving good results.
>When I used HTC's (so called) usb cable which I am using for charger to 'connect and charge' via laptop, it shows same result as when connected to charger.
>It was written Charging (USB) when charging via HTC charger and Charging (AC) when charging via Sony's charger.
>I can also see a noticeable difference that HTC's (again, so called) charger has output of 200mA and Sony's original charger has output of 850mA.
I understand that this makes a big difference.
Now, I want to ask that does HTC really give chargers of 200mA?
Finally, coming back to the title, how can I recognize if my charger is fake or not? Any indications etc.?
(I am trying to attach some pictures of it).
Aaaaaand, one more question!
Does battery always drop down by 10-15% or even 30% if I use camera for less than 10 minutes or is 'my' battery having problems?

and yes mine also charges very fast till 80% (with Sony charger)
Do you use it continuously and heavily with very short breaks for 8 hours or does it just sleep on standby?
If I leave mine on standby, it drops only zero to 5% charge in whole night. If I use it for like 6 hours while installing apps and browsing via opera mini, it drops down from 100% to 30%, sometimes even lesser.
I bought many adapters from Ebay, and all were fakes, If you would put original and fake charger together you would see little differences like little bit moved logo. Also it depends on cable, do not you longer than 1,5m. I have 2,5m cable and it is behaves as you written, it is too long distance for it, I do not really undarstand it but it does not charge it normaly. Normaly you should buy 1A charger. I bought 0,5A external charger and it has same results as you mentioned. 850mAh should be allright but I thing that best you can do if you are going to use more USB charging ports - buy on Ebay 4 USB PORT charger witch gives really good result and best thing that you can charger 4 things at same time on your cables. I am using it all time. That was best investment in chargers. Price about 7€

Thanks a lot for your input. I will buy htc charger because sensation users have told me that the charger is fine and that the problem is with mine only. I don't think that length of cable can be the problem because my SE's charger is a bit longer than htc's and it charges faster. My old Nokia's charger length was also very long and it also used to charge quickly, actually it still does (on other nokias). I will buy from market.
Normaly you should buy 1A charger

what's 1A ? I have only heard that mAh determines the speed of charger. Is Ampere and mAh similar?

1A is 1000mAh. My charger is a 1A 5v output. 200mAh sounds a little low. Even a USB port is 500mAh.

Don't worry if the battery takes more time to charge aboove 80%, it is due to the electrolyte in the battery....the material used has that characteristic....and it is used widely...it cannot be helped as of now....

Hi mate.. Don't worry about original HTC charger.. Numbers on it are lil bit confusing but it outputs 1000mA(1A) so its powerfull enough to charge any phone out there if not broken or st..
Hello,
your charger seems ok, when you carefully look on sticker, there are input and output characteristics. For input you have 240V and 200mA (current is irrelevant for input, it is lower because of high voltage on input) and for output 5V and 1A (you should look at this value of current) which is normal for original chargers. If you have battery fully charged in 2h than you dont need to buy another one. Charging is always faster on the beginning because of higher voltage difference and on the and it slows and probably change charging type so dont worry, it is ok.
mAh is value for capacity (battery capacity based on current usage), mA is for current value (current usage, charging current etc.), very big difference...
mAh (milliampere-hour) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ampere-hour
mA (milliampere) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ampere
Regards
Thanks for your replies.. The charger whose images I had posted is still sleeping in my drawer because it charged very VERY slowly (yes, it's in caps). I thought that it was original and had some problem in that specific set. So, I bought a same new charger of 1A and I mistakenly connected in on a wall socket which was slightly loose. After some minutes, it started making noises of continuous sparks within it. So I disconnected and tried on another socket without the mobile connected this time. So the charger again produced a big spark which affected the voltage of whole house for a second, thank God it did not touch me. It now rests in garbage. Now I bought same charger again thinking that the loose socket part was my fault, but the same thing happened again when I connected it on another SLIGHTLY loose socket, where all chargers of home normally go. And I got the same results. So then I realized that I am not going to get an original one. Finally I bought a kyocera charger, for 1.5$ (converted amount) which is still working by the grace of God.

wireless charger

hi, someone know if this charger is working with nexus 4?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/QI-Wireless...l_Phone_PDA_Chargers&var=&hash=item3f3363ba76
I have the orange and black one, you just need a charger that states its qi standard or complies with it.
Mine doesnt charge at as it gets warm (tickle charge), the temp sensor must stop it charging, this is the second ebay qi that has done it,looking into a offical one instead
I have black+black one and it works just fine with original nexus 4 adapter. You gotta put the phone on the exact location to prevent heating and "tickle charge". If I do it right, phone get charged kinda fast, not as fast as with wall charger but faster than with USB. I bought it from here. http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Black-Portable-Ultra-Slim-Qi-Receiver-Adapter-Wireless-Charger-Charging-Pad-for-Lumia-920-Nexus-4/1502839948.html
I also got one. It works fine with N4. I am using original wall charger.

Just received one of these today! Seems to work pretty well - you know when you've positioned it correctly because you get audio feedback. Seems to charge OK, looking at the battery graph.
On the back of the box in the specs, it says "conversion 72%". I guess that means you lose 28% of its charging potential via wireless, compared to wired?
Still, it feels fast, and does its job.

Impressed with Qualcomm Fast Charge 2.0

Thought I'd give my thoughts on the Qualcomm Quick Charger 2.0.
Just received the HTC One M9 yesterday.
After a full charge with the stock charger, I had it running for 13 hours without charging.
Woke up this morning and noticed that it had dropped to 34% so I decided to try the Qualcomm Quick Charger 2.0.
Wow! Impressed how fast it went to 100%! Actually I had my doubts about it going 60% in 30 minutes, but it does seem legit.
In my opinion, it is worth well purchasing, specially if you suddenly find yourself with no power left and in need of charging it fast!

I got the CHOE brand Quick charge and it is indeed very impressive. What Ticks me off is that's the charger that should have been in the box with the M9. That's poor of HTC to flaunt a much better charger on their website after shipping out the normal ones to their loyal customers.

I don't have the M9, but from unboxing videos it looks like HTC included the Quick Charge 1.0 charger with the phone. Looks very similar to the one that came with the M8. But I agree, with the M9, HTC had NO excuse not to include a Quick Charge 2.0 charger.
I was wondering if you guys knows if the actual charger of my Nexus 6, could be compatible with the HTC One M9 ?
As it's not included in the M9's Box... If i can keep my actual one, that'll be great !

Just so everyone knows, fast charging a Lithium batter would work best going from 0 to 70-80% any more than that the battery charges really slow, that's just how chargers are designed for lithium tech.
Example, from 0% if the charger is giving out 2Amps, then as soon as it reaches a high point of 80% the power output goes down from 2Amps to around 1Amp, and so on it keeps declining as the battery get higher.
Does this work with any good quality micro USB cable?
Quick Charge with Verizon phone?
Has anyone with a VZW M9 had any great success with a quick charger? And if so, what have you used?
I have the Tenergy Fast Charger, and it is faster than the charger that came with the phone, but it's definitely not super fast. We're talking just slightly over 1% per minute.
This makes me wonder if Verizon has somehow limited quick charging with this phone such that any charger I try is going to be met with limited success or if I should indeed try a different charger.
Is anyone else having trouble getting the fast speed? I have a T-Mobile variant and it seems to be only getting about 1% per minute as well. At 60% charge, it estimates that there is about 50-60 minutes remaining to completion.

Same here, with both Samsung adaptive fast charger and Motorola quick charger from a nexus 6. No idea why, but after using an s6 that charged extremely quickly, it's a little confusing.
I wonder if some of the carrier variants that received the update had the QuickCharge 2.0 functionality disabled. I've tried the Aukey, Anker, Getwow and Onite chargers and they all are not charging at the rated spec.
Quick charge is neat, but it's also destructive for the battery. 95% of the time my phone is only on charge over night, so no need for speed there. I'd rather it have the regular charger for the overnight charge, and maybe having a quick charger for on the go situations.

don't think so. there are batteries that claim to be at higher maH but in reality its usually the same or even less maH. I would just get another Samsung battery .
I use an external battery. I'm not getting another Note until the external battery option comes back.
I have spare batteries.
Spare batteries mean double or even triple or even more capacity without changing its form factor.
Extended battery can offer conveniences in battery capacity without restarting device but some of it change the form factor.
I have a Quick Charge 2.0 external battery pack that I just use to top up the phone. Easy and quick; works for me. Just put the phone on the pack for a little while and you can go for hours. You can also get a Quick Charge car charger that will quickly top up your phone. I wouldn't want to keep taking my phone out of its case to swap batteries or have to deal with a huge battery and case as part of the phone. Amazon has several Quick Charge 2.0 packs and car chargers. Plus these will still work when you eventually upgrade your phone.

I own a small USB meter that can report both Volts and Amps. I have checked that this car charger is working correctly on Quick Charge with the Note 4 and it is. Both ports are QC 2.0 ports. One advantage of this charger is it is really small.
I used to use a spare battery, but it was always a pain remembering to recharge the one in the phone, then switching out. Eventually just bought an external battery (actually 2 different sizes) since that's really easy to recharge. I can top it up any chance I get and charge both phone and pack at the same time (with 2 chargers or course). Also I can use it for my tablets and win 8 tablet when I'm traveling with both. But I don't have a need for it very often since I can go most of the day without charging and then almost always am near an outlet or car charger. If I ran out of power mid-day every day, I'd go for an extended battery.

I keep the spare charger in the center console of the car. If I'm low or dead I just swap and let the spare charge as I drive. Never worry about forgetting it. And it's almost always fully charged by the time I need it which is much more since the lollipop update. Thinking of going back to KK.
I use the spare battery kit. The spare battery comes with its own charger housing.
I can keep on using the phone while the other battery is charging in my bag or at the wall charger. Don't have to endure carrying the already large phone while connected to a power bank

I like to use both. Spare battery is when I'm out and about and don't need to worry about a dead battery as I can swap it. When I know I'm going to a place where I will need my phone to be an entertain(For myself) for however long I need to stay at a certain place to kill time, I would use my extended battery. Can't go wrong with either IMO.
