Hi XDA,
Honestly not having a good time with my Sensation's here pissed at HTC for the rubbish build quality they have been providing.
I have previously had three standard HTC Sensation's and I can confirm that none of them did this. Nor has any other phone I have ever owned that is 'Aluminium Uni-body' so I know that it isn't usual. I've had a Desire HD.
When plugging my HTC Sensation XE in to charge, as long as the device isn't touching anything such as wood the phone becomes charged. If you touch the Aluminium you can hear a humming sound and it feels 'tingly' to touch. I thought that maybe this would have something to do with the screen grounder, as the entire body of the phone creaks at the top right and goes in a lot (not under a lot of pressure either)
On several times I've actually been hurt when picking up the phone and it's on charge.
PLEASE HELP
Put a case on your phone.
Also I would suggest sending it back because one of the live wires has clearly come loose

I use always a clothe under the phone .
Do you think that it's likely one of the wires has come loose? I can't see any other way that the phone could become charged, it's not like there is any power source touching the outside of the phone.
I've looked everywhere on the Internet and I've been unable to find any referencing to this. Is it dangerous to my phone?
Thanks.

I think its highly likely a conductive wire has come loose and is touching the aluminum body of the phone. AFAIK that is the only way you can get the buzzing noise and the electric shocks because of the electricity conducting. You should probably send it back as I don't think its normal. Mine doesn't do it.

Hi there. I just updated from Revolution HD 3.0.1 to 3.6.2 xe and I must say I'm impressed. I am having an annoying problem though: the "clear" button on the notifications pulldown has completely disappeared. Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't seem to get it back at all.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
Did you flash radio? If so can you please help me? I've tried the command prompt and everything but it gives me errors.

It magically reappeared by the time I woke up!
Not sure if it has anything whatsoever to do with the specific ROM (which is actually 3.6.1 XE, apologies for the mistype before) but it seems the solution here is to wait a bit before asking for help.

bovpassat: I'm possibly not the best person to help, but I would recommend you elaborating a little so people can understand your exact situation -
i.e., what does the error actually say? You say you tried everything, what else did you do aside from cmd?
Also, are you radio S-OFF?
I guess that's what I'd want to know first.

Got it to work, but now no clear notification like yours. I'll wait like you said and see if it comes back

Did it work for you in the end?

Hey dear Sensation lovers
Since some weeks my Power Button seems to behave weird. And no he doesnt work at all. And now he doesnt work at all. If my phone turns off, i can only start it over adb .
And now my question is: can you edit the build.prop or some File , that the search Button is like the Power Button? Is this possible? Start the phone by pressing Any other Button?
Thanks .

I dont know if you are rooted or not,but if you are you can try brick kernel,it has swipe2wake feature which is a solution for you and its cool also.
Yes i'm rooted and also have sweep 2 Wake, but it's kinda annoying .. i'm using insertcoin with faux kernel...

Replace the power button, flex cable and contact chip - about $25 in parts but needs good eyesight and a steady hand!
Okay thx i'll have a look

Is there no way to use for example the search Button as unlock/Power Button? If my handy boots down i can only get it started via Adb.. kinda annoying
Good luck that there is sweep2wake... But.. yeah..

power switch contact chip
Where is the contact chip placed in the phone ?
Is it in top where the power button is?
I accidently broke the black tape which is on top of the power button, will the contact chip solve the problem ?
I have HTC SENSATION T-mobile. any rom I put is not stable. it always reboot itself from time to time. sometimes way too much. then after rebooting the battery suddenly drain. or the when I use the camera sometimes the phone reboot itself.

Have you tried some of the reboot fixes like a piece of paper/card where the battery slots in.
If that doesnt fix it then you will have to be much more specific as in logcats, last_kmsg, what kernel you are on etc etc.

^^ true, if no Rom is stable then you gotta check if something is not right on your end

Yeah I doubt its the ROM because I'd assume they all go through pretty rigorous testing before being released though I can only speak for myself, I spent an entire two weeks testing my v7.0.0 before I released it

Most all of of the roms I've tired have been stable and I've tried a lot of roms. It's very unusual for me to have a reboot as a matter of fact I don't have reboots. Have you thought it just might actually be your device causing the reboot and not the Rom? An example would be a wiggle in your battery- causing the connection to break. This could be fixed with a paper wedge to stabilize battery. You might look into something like that and see if that's causing you're issues. Sure certain roms might have small bugs once in awhile but usually the developers are upfront about them. Also they usually are not major issues.again I think you should look at your device itself. It very well could be the problem.

I'm having this headphone issues that when I connect some headphones I can't hear anything unless I giggle the connector and I need to be holding it so it can play on the left side. If I release it spa again. The headphones are recognized on the phone though when I connect them. I tried without the back cover and it's the same. I guess it's an hardware problem because I tried with more headphones and it's the same.
Is it possible to fix this?

Hi,
Do you have anything stuck at the bottom of the headphones hole.
There may be something preventing it from making proper contact.
No mate, I don't. I cleaned it very carefully inside. Is the audio jack replaceable or do I need to change the whole board?

I also have this problem, albeit it isn't as severe for me. I found that pulling out the headphone pin a little bit solved the issue.
