[Q] External 3D video player? - LG Optimus 3D

Hi, is there such a thing? A video player that can be downloaded from the Market, and that plays 3D videos? But with support for other video formats? The default Video player of O3D currently doesn't play .WMV and other files...
Any help will be appreciated!

I use it too, it's pretty good, but there's no option to play 3D. Where did you see that option?

Hi guys, I'm thinking about buying O3D instead on Galaxy S2 (much cheaper here).
I like to watch movies in bus/train and would like to use O3D for that purpose.
Can you please confirm whether O3D is able to to playback HD movies, 1080p mkv files with DTS sound, without transcoding?
Thank you in advance.

no option. if it is 3d then it plays in 3d. you cant adjust depth or anything though. no button to view 2d movies in 3d either

Well I tried all ways I can think of to get it working in 3D. It doesn't...

works sort of
The only way i could get mx video player to work is by first opening one of the original 3d video files that were on the phone then skipping through to the video i wanted to play. theres got to be an easier way like a "3d" tag or sumit that lets the player know its in 3d cant see one anywhere tho. anyone got any ideas?

not a clue why this is happening to you. I just go to my gallery choose the vid I want to play and when it asks me which program to use for opening I choose mx video player and it plays just fine in 3d.

Have you tried something like TCPMC or Core Media player as i have no problems at all and the performance is great. I can play MP4s no problem.
Sorry just noticed that you said you used other media players

play 1080p (HD) video on HTC HD2

hello is there any player can play 1080p video.
thanks
hi.. first of all, we do have a specialized Q&A forum, so please post your question here so it would be better assisted.
as a reference to your question, you won't get any joy in playing 1080p video on a WVGA screen (480widex800high). the picture just wouldn't fit (1080p hd is, you guessed it, 1080 high)..
but if you want to force it, there will be a lot of processing involved to scale the picture down to a resolution an HD2 could play... nicely. it's like forcing a BlueRay player to play HD movies on a Standard TV or playing Halo 3 on your grandma's bunny-ear kitchen TV (though it would play, it's just not worth it).
it would be pointless to develop an application to do such on a device that simply won't cut it anyway. well, except if you want to use a TV out function (to play the video on an HDTV - making your device an HD media box), which the HD2 doesn't have.
so to answer your question. No. none that i know of.. but you know what? try to post it on the forum link i gave you and you might get lucky..
good luck.

The joy would be not having to convert it before watching! I think it would be great. But I don't know of a player that can do it sadly.

Decent Video Player

Hi All
I have searched and downloaded numerous players but all seem to have a flaw or don't work as expected. Can someone please point me in the direction of a good all round player, or a good convertor
Thanks in advance.
I am using the Hero with 2.1
Have you tried meridian player?
As for converter I recommend Super by eRightsoft.

Hi All
Thanks for all your help
After trying various players and converters I have finally found a solution that plays back smoother than a cashmere codpiece
I actually used the HTC player that is pre-installed but converted the movies with the Realplayer converter. It actually lists a few HTC phones and converts to .wmv and plays like a dream.
The only problem I have come accross is it will not show the title of the film just a snapshot, but at least the movie plays in top quality.
Rockplayer used to be my favorite, but it doesn't use your phones GPU to play higher quality movies. So if you want a video player that can play mkv files and divx WITH subtitle support that also remembers the position of every movie you play...
GET mvideoplayer
...assuming your phone has a decent GPU. I doubt it would be good for snapdragon phones... but it's better than the default Galaxy S movie player

I can't find ArcMedia player. Seems like it is gone from the marketplace. Too bad... it looked like a winner.
Act 1 is very refined with lots of options. It will only do h264/mp4, but it does them really, really well.

I checked out developer's website for rockplayer specifications and came to realise that it actually supports .srt subtitles if u only put them in same folder as movie.

Good media (FLAC/OGG/mkv/mov/avi) players

What is a decent media player for the G Tablet that will use hardware acceleration for video playback? I using a modded firmware with the standard Android 2.2 and Marketplace.
Rockplayer
Tried that but I can't get hardware accel to work.

Did you update it? The one in the market normally will want to update to a version that works with our processor type. If yours did not I think you can download and install from the website. I have checked the hardware button and mine sticks when it did not used to with the old version.

I quite like mVideoPlayer. Works nicely for me.
Any recommendations on a player with good subtitle support? For both external subtitles (e.g., .ass, .srt, .ssa, etc) and embedded subtitles (e.g., mkv).
I have no idea which one has a good subtitles support, but i found Real player beta.
It is fast and capable of reproducing my mp4 videos when no other could.
I can't play mkv movie on my vegan-Tab. I tried with Rockvideo,mVideoplayer...
They can not play.
Please help me .
Thanks

I can't either. Don't think it is supported yet. I just convert them to MP4 with Handbrake.

I have rockplayer but I just installed mVideoplayer and whenever you first open it, the changelog shows all of the subtitle formats being supported in the new release.
Well I did that and it will play my mkv file in software decoding but stops on hardware decoding. Any ideas.

If it plays does it play ok? If it does then why does it matter if it is hardware or software mode? MKV is hard to play as it is which is why I convert them. The players will get better, just need to give them some time.
ahhh more confusion...
so if i put a dvd into my computer and convert it to mp4 is this the best to play on a stock gtablet? will quality be fair -good -great?
heck the reason i purchased this thing was so i could watch movie and browse the net while on vacation! and it has become a crazy pain...thought it would be smoother than it is...tons of web pages wont open cuzz the are flash?? supported so i get crazy gobbledy gook on he page! maybe i should have jut bought a net book?
The Flash problem is easily solved. Go to the FAQ thread and follow the instructions to install the correct Flash plugin. It works fine.
As for video the best codec for quality seems to be .mp4 in my opinion. .avi files work well too.

VLC of andoid. ARCMEDIA. runs flawlessly on any android version. here's the apk
Argh this is frustrating. I had a $100~ chinese tablet and it runs any video smoothly while this thing refuse to run a lot of videos due to codecs...

[Q] What 3D Video formats does O3D support?

Hi gentlemen.
Well the title says it all. I want to know what 3D Video formats does O3D support.
I`m sure about .mp4 and .dm (judging by the default sample videos) but I`m not sure about anything else.
Thanks. Much appreciated and sorry for my bad English.
mkv works also.
It can play MP4/DivX/XviD/H.264/H.263/WMV files

Thanks a lot.
Not all WMV files will play though. I tested some SBS wmv8 files and the default video player displayed an error. Runs fine in other players, but alas not in 3D.
3D .wmv video?
Are there any 3D movies with the .WMV extension that can be played by the default video player? Different resolution, or codec (sorry, not very knowledgeable about codecs) ?
