[Q] Paid apps on custom roms (market problem?) - General Questions and Answers

I have tried 7 different rom and realized it is not about the ROM but market does not allow paid apps on rooted phones. How to have paid apps listed and also download the ones I already paid for?
I did download some of those I paid for via appbrain market but after few minutes vlv fails and I get message about the wrong license.

[Q] Amazon Appstore "Application not installed" Error message

After loading a new ROM, redownloading the appstore, I cannot restore my old apps. I get the above message. Downloading new apps works fine. Any suggestions?
Same here. I am guessing that it stores the app purchase with the phone, not with the google account like the android market does.
If you have Ti-Backup you can install from there and it has always worked for me. Also make sure you are signed into Amazon in order to download your apps.
make sure your appstore is up to date too. mine did this before but now it seems to be smarter about which apps are on your phone but not installed and which ones need to be downloaded. otherwise try uninstalling/reinstalling the app, or sign out/in.
It stores it with your amazon account, you can change phones or roms all you want

[Q] Market Enabler still not working

Hi guys, I live in a country where paid apps arent supported. I have rooted my S2 and installed market enabler. Whenever I go to a paid up and I click buy, the error "The item that you were attempting to purchase could not be found." I've tried searching around but to no avail.
Any help will be appreciated.
Cheers

I have a ME version working. Send me your email and I'll send it to you.
Does anyone know of a work around for this problem....it is really annoying. A vpn connection to the US does not work and I have a US credit card set up on my google account.
I stumbled upon the following workaround that works for my SGS2.
1) ensure your phone's off of 3G and WiFi
2) revert to factory installed Market app
Settings>Applications>Manage applications>Market>Uninstall updates
3) prevent automatic updates to Market app
rename /system/app/MarketUpdater.apk to MarketUpdater.bak using Root Explorer (mount as r/w).
4) Reboot
This reverted my SGS2's Market app to 2.3.4. If step 1 doesn't give you an appropriate version for your device, I suppose you can do a restore from before July 27, 2011. I verified that I could purchase and install a paid app.
Then I manually installed Market 3.0.27 (com.android.vending-27.apk). I then verified that I'm now able to purchase and download paid apps using the latest Market 3.0.27, so somehow this re-enables Market Enabler, at least on my SGS2.

[Q] New android market v3.0.27 paid apps can be aceess by VPN?

I live in Taiwan and now google close the paid apps in market now. We do not know when Google re-open the paid apps in market. Now the new market v3.0.26or v3.0.27 can be download in some android forum. I am not sure the new edition market paid apps can be access by VPN. (I access paid apps by in old vision 2.3.6) May someone know it or ever test it?

[Q] Market Apps are now incompatibe! Is it so??

Most of the latest apps at android market says it is incompatible? Why is it so? I downloaded a few from other sources and works really fine! Is it the end of our phone's support for games?

just look in which section we landed!
and just cause the android market says something, doesnt make it so
On a sidenote though... ARe you sure that you
1. are logged into the browser using your phone's market account?
2. are you using market enabler on your phone? and if so, do you start it on boot or just when u need it?
the browser market thing shows ALL apps, even apps that are not available in your country so its always best to look for them in the market app directly
1. This usually happens when you use other market sources like Amazon where you get paid apps for free and then you try to update them from android market.
2. This also happens if you installed warez (cracked apps) from sites like Cyberandroid.com and then try to update them from market.
Otherwise there is no chance of this happening.
You will need to update them from the source you got them.
Plz post question in general section.

No this is not true. I had the same issue (Market app saying that app is not compatible with my phone) when I had the phone running with a changed LCD density. After visiting the Market via the app also the website showed me that many apps are incompatible. The only solution for me was to reset the density. After that everything went back to normal.
I also do not see where ayushextreme said that he is using a specific way to install apps from the market. Not the app nor via browser.
But I agree to vishal24387. This question is something for the general section.
