Has anybody got this working. I followed a tutorial and ran the bootsnd.sh through terminal emulator and can clearly see "bootsound" in system/bin but I can't seem to get any sounds to play on the boot animation. I've renamed to "Android_audio.mp3" and "poweron.mp3" and placed in system/media and still nothing. What am I doing wrong? Any ideas?

Can't see any lines in build.prop to do with bootsound Where is that line & if it doesn't exist, what line do I have to put in? I have PowerOn.ogg & android_audio.mp3 files in *sdcard/system/media* (also in system/etc folder!) I've tried the bootsnd.sh trick in adb/cmd prompt & terminal emulator to enable sound on boot, but have had no luck!
Edit

i didnt make this or anything, im just simply passing it on! Droid Bionic boot animation...pretty bomb!! i just moved the file to system/media and replaced the current one with file explorer, but every phone (or rom) is different
oh, and if u want the sound file, its http://www.droid-life.com/2011/08/26/download-official-droid-bionic-boot-animation/ there...just couldnt upload the ogg file
This is actually pretty cool! I'm gonna give it a try on CM7.
you aint got a pic?
nevermind i seen it.. looks hot go perfect with my red theme.

u dont open the file, u place it in the correct folder or adb push it into the correct folder of your phone that handles the boot animations......in CM7 case, u just put the file in system/media folder, where you will see a bootanimation.zip file already, just replace it and reboot!
Thank you : )
So i haven't messed with adb at all and when I try to put in system/media it says installation aborted. I am downloading it to my computer then transferring to system/media because when I download to phone it doesn't show up do you think it could be a file error on the sd card? Thnx in advance
I can't get this sh*t to work at all so imma say cm7 does not work for this boot animation as far as I know. I tried replacing it in system/folder and got nothing Idk what to do.

i have CM7....u need to get an app called "Root Explorer".....that app will allow u to overwrite read-only material and alter them! In this case, u download the animation, u then copy or move the file to system/media, but make sure u click the Read/Write thing otherwise it wont work....then u just reboot
The boot animation looks great. But I would rename your original bootanimation.zip file to bootanimation.old then place it in the directory. Just ing case you are unsatisfied, you can just delete and go back to whatever you had originally. Also does anyone know what I have to rename the sound file to to get it to work properly in the /ui directory ?

to my understanding (although i havent done this), u just keep it as a .ogg file, and in the audio folder, u make a "poweron" folder, and rename the file "poweron.ogg" and put that into the poweron folder.....but i havent done it, so idk if it works
edit: didnt work....idk how to do enable the boot sound

Use Root Explorer. Name the old SystemUI.apk to SystemUI.bak just in case somemthing goes wrong(Pay attention to permissions). Paste the NEW SystemUI.apk into the System/App folder, set permissions and reboot.

Sure. Use your root file browser to get to the /system directory. Replace the system.ui file that is there with Bigfau's modded version.

The status bar should disappear when you rename it. That is normal. After you paste the modded version in the /system directory, the status bar isn't going to come back until you reboot.
If you rebooted already, I would double check that the file is there.
I do it,happy too. Now I'm testing it.
As a further problem, the clock can not I select update, always GMT,the GMT +7 time I need, how to fix this?

not all animations have sound. u can make a PowerOn.wav
You just need to convert the mp3 file to .wav
Here is one i found free- http://download.cnet.com/Free-MP3-WMA-OGG-Converter/3000-2140_4-10793572.html

Sound Instructions
1. Download PowerOn.wav
2. On Root Explorer go to /system/etc and find PowerOn.wav and you can either delete it or add (.bak) after file name. If you dont have it on your phone it should be fine and still work.
3. Past the PowerOn.wav file you downloaded in /system/etc
4. Then reboot and there you go! If you still have some questions or need help here is a link-http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1367645
So get a .wav file or convert an audio file to .wav and rename PowerOn.wav, then put it in /system/etc
Can't confirm this method works and is safe so do it at your own risk (although I don't see how it could cause any serious problems)

I don't get it. My stock rom had it in system/etc as PowerOn.wav (and I tryed all steps above as PowerOn and poweron) so why won't it work now? I'm useing the glorious+overdose v2 rom. Using the absolute system methed I just tryed it with a mp3 and no it didn't work. This is what it looks like
480 800 7
p 1 0 part00
s poweron.ogg
p 1 0 part01
p 1 0 part02
Now I just seen should my sound be s 1 poweron.ogg (mp3)
Or s 0 poweron.ogg if I want it to loop
And I have my actual sound file I'm system/media when sync with absolute system then moved it to system/media/audio/notafacations then install with absolute system in system/media and data/local

I think I have found a fix to our little problem. I have been working on mine for quite some time trying to change boot sound(poweron to be technical) and I have finally found the solution. I had to change the permissions to "rw-r--r--" while in root explorer in order to get it to work. WAHLAH! I have custom boot sound. hope this helps.
I seen your reply and got so happy I went to root explorer and the permissions looked as you sesond pic I changed it to the 3rd pic and it is now rw-r-r and reboot fingers crossed ans silence...
