Nope.
Not yet.
Maybe some of our devs already tried but didn't succeed.
i like ics with sense ^^
there is some work on going on in the DHD forums with regards to this which means we should have it soon, but to be honest i think all that work will be a bit of a waste with the announcement of sense 4.0 next month. Just sit tight and be patient and we'll get something good
The main reason is, that the Sensation has a qHD screen.
If we port the ROM, resizing and optimization has to be done.
Whereas now, luckily for us, HTC have announced plans to upgrade the XL which has the same screen as us.
So we just need to wait for a leaked XL ROM, and devs will port it.
It will be muh easier that way, rather than having to resize and optimize the original Sensation ROM.

That's right. And that's the reason that the best ROMs for the DS (like Endymion) are based on official Sensation XL (Runnymede) releases instead of the Pyramid (Sensation qHD) - they just fit better overall! So just wait a bit and you'll have a very very sweet tooth munching on ICS with a Sense 4 icing!!

Love that concept
Pretty soon i think Endymion will evolve to ICS + Sense based of the XL
Or maybe Lowveld might give a different approach and name it as a new ROM

I personally don't think Endymion should ever be taken off the grid, and turned into an ICS based ROM. It should continue as a Sense 3.5 GB ROM as it has always been. To morph it into an ICS based Sense 4 ROM would be the same as having developed Hyperion into a Sense 3.5 ROM, and doing away with the original Hyperion (which fortunately, did not happen!)
So I think Hyperion and Endymion should remain as proud flag-bearers of what GB with Sense was meant to be... and the ICS version should be inducted as a new member into the elite family of Lowveld branded ROMs.
Lowveld, i know you're reading this...so please do consider keeping Endymion alive as is... and do not merge it with the ICS branch that you will eventually develop - something that we all know is inevitable. (I mean that is at least more realistic than expecting you to release Android 5.0, right?! )
P.S. : Oly, I just realised that we've hijacked this thread and turned it into an Endy thread! +1 for Viral marketing!!

Hehe
I suppose...
All devs have different approaches to their ROMs...
RCteam and Virtuous focus on a specific device port
E.g - unity = sensation, affinity = XL
And they are usually based on the latest build available .
So if the XL got ICS, Affinity will be updated to ICS.
I thought lowveld was having the same approach:
Hyperion = Desire S, Endymion = XL.
So if we did officialy get ICS, Hyperion will be updated to ICS etc.
So I assumed that Endymion will soon be based on XL's ICS
Oh well, I guess all devs have their own approach
Who cares anyway, so long we get to taste some sweet ICS, and Sense 4.0 icing

Just read it.
Also in response to Oly, I don't connect ROM names with particular devices. Hyperion is Hyperion, Endy is Endy, not a "XL current port". I even stopped rebasing Endy on the latest XL builds as I don't think they have anything to offer.
So, no, Endy wil not "go ICS". It's also not going away, while I don't go away. I don't stop supporting anything while there are users, period. I'm becoming a little stretched, currently maintaining 3 ROMs and being a team of 1. But fortunately the community tends to help itself, and lots of questions get answered without my direct intervention (thanks Enigmaamit and all of you! ).
If I ever develop something over ICS, and that's a big IF, it will be a different ROM. And, as always, I will only release it if it is consistent, bugfree, and adds something to the community (Remember the no-go on the Bliss port?).
Cheers

Thanks for clarifying lowveld
I just made a wild assumption
Either way, it doesn't really affect us.
I do hope that porting the XL ICS will be an easy job, with no bugs - like Endymion
Yeah, its strange how to Bliss (bassed on virtually the same specs as Desire S) had some nasty incompatible radio stack thingy which broke Bluetooth
Hopefully ICS doesn't change too much!
It would be nice to see what you could do with a future ICS base though
Just wondering though, will that mean a new kernel would be required? So unity9 base won't be compatable for future ICS Sense?

My first sugestion was to say delete FB account (alongwith with any others that you have like twitter etc) but,t it douns like you've already done that
so my only suggestion left, is delete Google account - which means starting again - as this is same as full reset!
Good Luck

You could always:
take a nandroid backup
perform the full-reset
test to see of problem is resolved (enter only google and facebook sync'ing details)
restore backup - until such a point that you have the time to reset up your phone
At least that way you'd know if that will help!
EDIT: Does this and the sentence above look like it's in a smaller font to the rest of the post (when read from a PC) it does for me and it seem's like that always happens when I use the LIST option...

@olyloh6696 i have the same problem 2,but it doesn't affect me much as i flash different ROMs often
but try a cache+davlik cache wipe before doing a full reset
Thanks guys I notcied in my people app, I get no pictures at all, but when i get a phone call, or text, the picture comes up :S whichis weird
Also when I add a person to the people widget, their pic comes up. Strange... It's not coming in the people tab.. I will try doing a reset in the next few days...
Thanks guys for answers!

Hello, Going totally off topic here...But...(figured this one was closed for now)
Have either of you two tried this [ROM] [16 SEP] Desires S Android 2.3.5 Sense 3.0 [v1.1 STABLE][Official Desire S ROM] yet? I have and it's great, apart from a few small cosmetic issues that can be easily overlooked and don't really effect use - it appears to be fully functional.
I never previously liked any of the the re-sized Sense 3.0 ROMS (like Virtious Unity) and even though I flash most of the Sense 3.0 add-ons to the LBC base I don't use the 3-D Rosie launcher, but by comparison this one is great - as if it's literally made for our device In fact I'm so impressed that I'm having a hard time in deciding whether to use this or LBC as my daily ROM.
Hopefully, LBC will take this (or ideally the next more polished leak of the same thing) and use this as the base for LBC v0.7.0 As this needs the a little attention and tweaking to get the best out of it. Its very close to LBC on battery usage and runs just as fast - even with the 3D launcher.
Thoughts? Comments?
ps
then of course there's always [ROM][17 SEP]RCMix3d Runny S v1.2 [Official runnymede sense 3.5 Android 2.3.5]
bit of a work around, but try the free app syncmypix on market, works v well when the facebook app fails
edit: this has the bonus of linking the facebook photo to your google contacts too

Hi Ben, I tried 0.8 version of that ROM last week. Not tried the new ones. My first impressions were, I liked the stock look and feel, but sadly i found the ROM to be slow and unresponsive. Wow, I wonder if 1.1 is fast! If it is as fast as you say, I'm quite tempted to switch from 2.1 sense! Never tested battery as I just played with the ROM for about 15 minutes. I'm just waiting for the official 3.5 sense build (hopefully) which can be optimised for stock modified performance roms (I.e - lbc mod)
Because I hear 3.5 was desgined for single core, whereas 3.0 is for dual core... So I'm quite reluctant to switch!
Atm, I'm rocking out leedroid with sense 2.1+3.0 mix very satisfied desire s user! (Especially since solving my issue!)
I think I may consider going back to lbc. Because I had a increased battety drainage on roms with my old battery, but now , with the new battery replacement from HTC, its lasting me real good
What about you? Have you decided to move from lbc to sense 3.0?

I'm currently swaying between the two...as there's been a recent lack of progress and even contact with LBC (I imagine that he's got a lot of work on), not that I can blame him as he's a one man band (with a family) whereas some of the other groups appear to be larger and multi-skilled and therefore have far more production time.
Currently, I've got a couple of ROMS the v1.2 Sense 3.0 one and what I regard as "old-faithful"/LBC and I'm simply using one, then backing it up and restoring the other then continuing like that ever few days.....watching whats happening elsewhere....
I didn't know that bit about sense 3.5 being designed for single core... which is promising although the leak sense v3.0 is from HTC for the saga so suggests it will be on our official OTA upgrade patch....It would be good to get that ROM optimized and tweaked as all good customs are....not just STOCK which is roughly what it is now.
Saying that I'm about to give [ROM][17 SEP]RCMix3d Runny S v1.2 [Official runnymede sense 3.5 Android 2.3.5] a go as it looks like its been tweaked for performance with the latest versions by the Desire HD devs...
Although it's ultimately designed for a larger screen size and I always felt that the shrunken sense experience don't look as sweet - we will see if this one looks better.
Either way looks like a good future! I'd prefer more options then less.

Yeh personal life is more important, so we can respect lbc is busy.
I read about 3.5 being for single core somewhere... Because it is leaked from the bliss (800mhz device) and dhd users report it being smoother, snappier, and a lighter UI to 3.0. When the custom roms for 3.5 start popping up, I'll be glad to give them a go , for now, pretty satisfied with Sense 2.1+3.0 mix.
So is proxusers 1.1 sense 3.0 ROM as smooth / fast as lbc? Especially that is only a leaked stock ROM, imagine an optimised version by our devs of that ROM!
Please let me know (in the ROM thread) how you are finding that 3.5 sense ROM. I haven't tried it myself, as I'm quite busy atm, and don't have much free time! Would really like to see whether it really us smoother and better optimised than the 3.0 sense..
Cheers mate!

i tried Gingerbread 2.3.5 with Sense 3.0 {v0.8} sometime back & i found it a little slow compared to vu & also i didn't like the widget size,i prefer the size from vu
so i switched back to vu for my daily use,i would really like to try v1.1 as i heard its a lot faster
i would also like to try sense 3.5 but i think i will wait till there is a full release
(i tired the bliss version & i liked the animations a lot)
i am unable to test many ROMs as my life is sucking all my free time
can anyone who tried sense 3.5 from runnymede tell me if there is much difference from the bliss version?(other than the menu button bar)
From what I gather there us a massive difference, bliss is intended as sense for girls, where's the new 3.5 Runnymede had been referred to as mans sense the full experience, I'm planning on giving it a whirl later it came out too late last night and I wanted to ensure that there were no significant issues before I have it a whirl, from what I've read the latest version has been tweaked big time so is a great deal slicker as the desire hd devs have put all their normal tweaks and hacks in.
Although I'm currently really enjoying the sense 3.0 leak for desire, it's fast and every thing works although needs a Dev to add tweaks and hacks to make it great, hoping LBC well take this as I his next base and make it slick and improve it or else might be tempted to have a go myself as would like to learn some more Dev stuff
EDIT:
Although apparently after I went to bed apparently another ROM has been released and proxuser have ported it already, this is based on sense 3 leak but tweaked
and improved by the desire hd devs (so wishes do come true ) Its called RCMIX3D_VoidU_v1.1 will be loading that now! literally spoilt for choice!

Wow! Proxuser is doing a fine job here! We gave many roms to choose from now!
Just out of curiousity, what exactly would you like the dev (lbc) to tweak and modify the ROM by?
I'm quite tempted myself to try this new ROM!
Sense 3.5 Runnymede is for men haha! Lol, I never knew that!
But runnymede is a 4.7" 1.5Ghz dual core phone!
So will runnymede sense be as smooth as bliss sense??

What we need is LBC (or another dev like him) with the same improved stock philosophy - which is what I like anyway. Someone that just improves and slickens the stock experience (with the same care and love that LBC puts in) but, possible changes the base to either Sense3.0 for saga now that that's out (even though it's leaked) or maybe even 3.5 but it's too early for that. But either way use Android 2.3.5.
Just the above normal tweaks, hacks and organisations that are always missing from stock, plus cut out all the un-needed crap applications and some of the useless HTC stock stuff that's just never used and eats CPU/memory and bandwidth!.
I'm still yet to try Runnymede, so can't really comment although when I have time I'll give it a go. Although as it's designed for a large screen will be fearful that it will look cut-down and re-sized.
But, Bliss is certainly cut down version (for girls! ) so I'm not interested and will avoid (unless I hear wonderful things).
Going to give this a go in next hour or so.. RCMIX3D_VoidU_v1.1 (even though its only sense 3.0 and just watch what happens with the sense 3.5 ROMS.

Well I'm about to try the 3.0 dhd port as it sounds like the first proxuser sense3.0 leaked ROM just tweaked.
I'll be honest I'm not 100% sure if you need the new HBOOT? the method of getting new hboot also depends on if your S-OFF'd via XTC or AlpharevX, there are a couple of threads on this subject, so I'd suggest that you give them a read

I see that there is an HTC 3.5 ROM for the Desire HD and the newest Sensation has HTC Sense 3.5. Will there be a ROM to upgrade to 3.5 for the original HTC Sensation???>
there is a rom with sense 3.5 for the htc sensation...check the development thread
Also Android revolution has a release pending for Sense 3.5
ARHD 4.1.0 has it
So does Energy now, as well as InsertCoin.
Which would you consider the best as a daily driver?
At the moment, none of them are stable. It is a test leak, and has some issues, especially if u flash the radio. I wouldnt consider any daily driver material yet

Actually, I have been using the Insert Coin ROM for the last 2 days and I haven't had any issues with bugs. It's a REALLY stable release. Expecially with the new Bricked v1.0 kernal from show-p1984.

Yeah.. don't make assumptions until you actually use one of these ROMs. The leaked ROM is actually very VERY stable. Haven't had one problem or "FC" yet. You're missing out if you're not running it yet...
Mine, albeit stock with a few tweaks, is rock solid. Had one black screen in 4 days but that was my fault. The ONLY issue is the new radio, but just use the one from the 1.73 RUU and you're laughing
Man... Energy ROM is the best.... you get a STABLEest sense 3.5 ROM plus the lightweight customized BLUE & transparency Mods.... just try it, and you wont regret my recommendation.....

You're right! Don't make assumptions.
I've used all three and they all gave me problems with FCs. Initially I used the recommended up-dated radio, but that was even worse. Furthermore, all the developers suggested going back to the previous radio.
I'm now back to ARHD 3.6.1, with no problems at all.
Furthermore, even Mike1986 says quite clearly at the beginning of his ROM post that the 4.1.0 ROM might have problems. Here's an exact quote from Mike:
TEST RELEASE SO MIGHT HAVE BUGS
So, as you said, don't assume. Furthermore, I wish people would simply stop insulting others, or telling others that they're doing something wrong if things don't go right. Remember, even though we may all have a particular model of phone, there are numerous variations of that model depending on where in the world you got it. One may work well, while the other may not.
Peter
Addendum: And you being a developer, I'm shocked you would make such an all-encompassing statement. Don't paint everyone with the same brush, as they say.

I reverted back to Android 2.3.4 several times yesterday but flashed the latest Energy 2.3.5 + Sense3.5 last night.... it works well and haven't seen any FC or strange issues.
Suggest you try it out or missing plenty of good stuffs, indeed.
I have been using energy 3.5 and there are no fc or any such issue. It's a very stable release. And 3.5 sense is a big step up from 3.0 imho.

Hi guys. I want to know which is the best ROM for daily use ? My gf has a Desire S and the light sensor doesn't work properly during a call so it's very easy to accidentally touch the 'mute' button (or any button).
Anyway, as I am not a Desire S owner I don't really know which ROM is the most stable and battery friendly.
Thanks.
LE: Sorry for the wrong section, I didn't see the 'Q and A' section on the main page so I thought it doesn't exist at all
Hi mate,
Obviously it's a bit subjective, but I really don't think you can beat lowveld's Endymion 3.3 ROM. It's still htc sense so your girlfriend won't have to get used to a new UI, only a more updated one! I've tried everything else and I'm always back to it!
It's very stable, I've never once had any problems. Battery life is the best of any ROMs I've tried too, I get nearly 2 days of moderate/heavy usage.
But the ROM requires any partition layout (on my Desire I have 1GB ext4 on my SD card for apps) ?
I think the best ROM for Saga is Endymion.
It is very stable and best thing is that the support thread is amazing.
Not jus the developer, but also the users are so knowledgeable and helpful. It's almost like a professional support center team!!
I like Endymion too...
But i also like CM7, becuause it is much faster!
Take oxygen Rom rock solid
Best Sense-Roms (for me): Endymion and Coredroid
My choice atm Reaper 1.2 (CM7.2 based) with an older version of zeam-launcher (for scrollable widgets). Fastest/Smoothest Rom i every used, no problems noticed and the battery last longer than on other Roms.
Depends on what your gf wants. If she just wants a rom with everything straight out of the box, it's better to pick a Sense-based rom. If she likes customizing, pick CM. And if she want an iOS feel for her Desire S, pick Miui.
The problem with the light sensor doesn't sound good. You should download an app to check the values of the light sensor. You might need to send the Desire S for repair. Better wait with flashing a new rom.
For me best room is ICS.
With sense 3.5 and android 2.3.5 (ics Virtuous Quattro RC1 is almost but not enough ready for me), i prefer RunnyDrOiD By PVTEAM
Thanks guys. My gf is not a ROM freak so she doesn't want to flash new updates for her ROM every day... so I'll stick to Sense 3.5. ATM I'm downloading Endymion V3.3 ROM and hopefully it'll work like a charm . I'll post here after I flash it...
CM 7 Room
I wanna try the CM 7 Room.. wich is the best? with no bugs or problems
Check out lowveld's "Reaper" ROM, it's based on CyanogenMod but with a number of tweaks.
I switched to it yesterday out of boredom, and I'm amazed by it, it's superfast, I've had zero FC's, and best of all it has lowveld's seal of quality so you know the support is top notch!
Check it out in the development thread.
Cm7 is super fast and has a great battery life but u won't have all the sense features, so It's up to u. I'm running on endymion 3.3 and i like it very much. Think I'm gonna wait for a stable ics Rom before shifting.
Cheers

I use CM7 because it fast and clean, I don't like HTC sense at all. And with ICS roms getting more stable I will probably switch to one of those soon.
I think CyanogenMod is the best for performance )

+1.
I like Endymion because of HTC Sense and its functionality.
But I love CM7 due to its legendary performance.
Its up to your GF. But you should note, the smaller font size on Endymion does take quite a while to get used to!

Hi all,
I know there are some similar threads that address this, but I was hoping we could have one specifically for DS users who have been trying out the new ROMs to provide some ongoing input on what they have found to be their favourites and why.
I'm most interested in which ROMs have the least bugs, the greatest stability and the best performace. My current favourite is SenseMOD FlashONE v2.0.2, though it's close between that and PrimoS.
Having been on Endymion for quite a few months, I'm missing the features and all-round brilliance of that ROM, and am hoping lowveld is working on something But for now I am interested in testing the new releases and am enjoying the new UI and features of Sense 3.6/4 lite.
Please share.....
Thanks!!
Yeh primo-s........ or the new port from the russian version there is talk about within the primo-s thread
Right now, Primo S and FlashOne are your best choices. If you want to try something different, use AOKP by Tectas. Pretty awesome.
Off topic - You actually have your nickname after Endymion? Wow, lowveld really has something special there. Really hope he cooks up something for ICS soon....
Thanks a lot,
I searched for that, too :]
im running Tectas unofficial aokp and must admit i have been blown away by how efficient it is. makes the desire s an even better phone than before, think that the ics camera software has improved the shutter speed
Thanks guys, any input is appreciated, especially over the next few days/weeks, as the current ROMs see some improvements and some new ones appear.
I am back on Primo-S for now, might go back to FlashONE after the next update (being uploaded as I type this) but for now Primo seems the best.

Endymion has been the best ROM on here for some time in my opinion, I appreciate the AOKP/CM based builds, but prefer lowvelds releases, and would rather have Endymion instead of Reaper; there's only so much customisation I'm interested in doing myself, and with a ROM like Endy with it's own control centre on top of RC tweaks, that's about enough to keep me satisfied.
Lowveld is quiet on the FTL/Endy threads, I'm hoping that means he's at work on something
- jacmeister/shrome/other tectas aokp fans - what would you say were the advantages over the ROMs based on the virtuous leak, and also over something like Endymion?
I am not too bothered about cam use, as I only occasionally use my phone for pics/video. I'm most interested in speed/stability and an aesthetically pleasing UI Too much customisation options and I end up spending an unhealthy amount of time on my phone tho
Thanks!

Wow wow, I need to try it out soon! I tried a really early version months ago, and it didn't differ too much from CM9.
I'm waiting for nk111 and his CM9 build with kernel 3.0, then hopefully Tectas can extract the boot.IMG for his AOKP ROM!

The Customization Options on AOKP are amazing. But I want a real stable ROM for daily use. So hopefully the Kernel related problems will be eliminated now. I'm just waiting a few more days for a Real Stable Release and new Kernel in a AOKP Version

Let's just say i'm having a psychological meltdown to resist flashing those new V3 Roms , i'm on virtuous saga and i love it, not the snappiest nor the most responsive but i can live with that i guess ^^;
Surprisingly, i fell in love with the russian ported primo-s mentioned in primo-s thread. Nothing fancy. It is the original and pure sense4a. No tweaks, no mods, no rosie. Just exactly like in the One V. And i keep the menu button as recent apps, don't want to fix it. I find it easier than hold down home button as i switch between apps a lot. And did i mention it's very stable and buttery smooth?

My first android phone was the nexus one and have always got the nexus variant when it came out. But always preferred the build quality of HTC. Which is probably why I like Aokp on the DS so much as its like a more modern N1. But this tectas build is rock solid and the customisations are insane. Has been really snappy and nothing seems to be dragging or slowing down the phone functions. I will try this primo s rom soon just to compare

Appreciating the input on here
What are people's opinions on the new releases and updates? My current favorite is lowveld's Fallout, that's the one I've found to be the most enjoyable experience so far. Saying that, I haven't had the chance to try the latest htc-phones rom, which had a new update today and a further one planned for tonight/tomorrow, with the Full Sense4 experience.
As much as I'm enjoying these new roms, I have not found one that I am able to feel completely satisfied with; I am trying to decide whether to stick to Endymion for now and check back on the new releases (Fallout esp. ) without flashing for a while and wait for the range of mods and tweaks that are to come.
Endy provides me with everything I could ask for, but the Sense4 experience is enjoyable and it's good fun to be riding the wave of these new developments. For me though, it's kind of a trade off between the consistent greatness of Endy or the new and exciting, though rather limited, experience of Sense4.
I imagine those coming from CM9/AOKP to Sense4 must perceive its limitations to be greater than I do - are many people sticking with Sense4 from now on to watch its improvements, or would you prefer, like me, to TRY and wait for the customisations and tweaks that will appear in the coming weeks?
Apologies for the long post....

After trying Fallout, I'm never going back to Endymion! It's just the right combination of light, fast and beautiful. And ICS is the future anyway... so makes sense. Plus, all the magic that had to happen on Endy has already happened. It's got everything working, with nothing to fix. Fallout on the other hand is still to receive its goodies, and i need that flashing experience to satisfy the craving inside of me!!

I would say Android Revolution HD 6.7.2 because it is the fastest and most stable stock base Rom I have ever used. Now if you want sense 4 I would recommend insert coin v2.2 For me its even faster then arhd I got over 4100 in quadrant but mind you that no oc and battery life isn't as great. Hope this helped. Picking a Rom is a personal thing .what's best for me might not be best for your needs.I highly highly recommend you try out SEVERAL different roms for yourself and then make your choice for your daily Rom! That's the fun part! I've probably tried almost all the ics roms available! See what suits you're needs and style! We are lucky to have such wonderful developers to give us many different choices! So instead of asking what's best in others opinions, see what's best in YOUR opinion! Each Rom has a area that tells you what's working and what isn't, they are very up front about that so read that area, decide what you want, try out SEVERAL different ones then make your OWN choice! For me I really like the lightning Rom. However it might not be for you! So have fun and experiment with different things and form your own opinion. Best wishes and I genuinely hope this helps you out. Happy flashing!

I'm using CM10 at the moment but my opinion WILL differ from almost everyone else's.
Yes, but not everyone has the time to try each and every ROM that comes along. So thanks for your suggestions guys!
Were only saying to give each Rom a shot and form your own opinion. Do it little by liitle if you don't have a lot of time but it is always best to try for yourself and form your own opnion...

the best ROM is the one that comes when you buy your phone, STOCK. But when you want something customized for your needs, you gotta try those available ROM. for me so far, i have Insert Coin for sense 4 in my phone always also the viper 1.1.0 but I'm still testing other ROM. What counts for when it comes to ROM is performance first then the looks. :good:
Enjoy Hunting :highfive:
I'd agree with trying the custom ROMs and work out what fits best. Like a try before you buy session.
REMEMBER, take Nandroid backups at every opportunity so you can revert to a previous ROM easily. That's probably the most important aspect.
Yep, take a few for a spin! I went from awesome Virtuous to awesome Lightning! Happy Flashing!
Communisation
Lighting
I agree there are just too many ROMS to try them all. But there are also way too many threads of this sort. For all those wondering which ROMS are good here are my recommendations-
ARHD or InsertCoin if you want closest to stock Sense 3.6 with preference to ARHD cos its updated more.
Elegancia Sense 3.6 if you want a tweaked version. I adore this ROM. Themed version available.
ViperS ROM if you want an extremely flexible Sense 4.0 experience. Elegancia 4.0 if you want a themed Sense 4.
OpenSensation for AOSP.
BerserkMode if you want Sense parts with AOSP speed and smoothness. It's probably better than Virtuous Inquisition now thanks to updates and improvements.
MIUI if that's your taste. There are about 3 or 4 threads. I'm personally waiting for the AOSP version update.
New Roms that may be worth a try- Lightning, TRAD Sensation (both Sense 4)
ROMS that you absolutely HAVE to cultivate to your own taste (for purists)- the hyper roms. props to Splder for carrying on Kristofs work.
Others- CM10 by Bruce if you're adventurous and don't mind temporarily sactificing your camera.
Personally I'd start with (Elegancia 3.6 Stock/themed is upto you) its amazing.. ViperS and BerserkMode of of course CM9. After that you have a pretty decent experience by which to judge other Roms. Happy Flashing! Hope this helped you and any others with the same question.

Paranoid Android! Hands down!
The ability to put your HTC into tablet mode is wonderful. As is the ability to custom choose the DPI for each individual app on your phone. After using Gmail in tablet mode I never want to go back to the preschool-like interface Gmail uses by default for phones. And with all the themes available for CyanogenMod you can REALLY customize the look and feel of every visual aspect of your phone's UI. I held out for a LONG time, I thought Sense was "pretty" and the way to go. But I've found ROMS based on AOSP/AOKP/CM run circles around Sense performance wise. Sense is a HOG for resources plan and simple. Install Apex launcher in Paranoid Android and it's quite close to perfect. Fast, themeable, visually pleasing, and the ability to take advantage of the fact your Sensation has an HD display.
That said, if you're still a sense holdout, the Viper ROM wipes the table with pretty much all other Sense based ROMS (though Daemon looks a bit promising).
For a STABLE ICS AOKP ROM, I like the EyeCandy ROM. (I boot into this restore when I need to use the camera as camera isn't functioning in JellyBean yet)
*edit*
Unlike a lot of other posters, I pretty much have tried EVERY ROM available for the Sensation. I have a tech addiction!
After a while the Sense 4.0 ROMS all start looking the same, except for the truly innovate ones that stand out from the pack like Viper, Daemon, Lightning, and RMS Blue Sense.
I tried ARHD, but once I found there were Sense 4.0 ROMS for my Sensation, I never looked back, never bothered trying another 3.6 ROM/ Sense 3.6 just seemed outdated to me at that point.
I prefer AOKP-based ROMS to CM as AOKP lets you tweak a heck of a lot more of the UI as well as system performance tweaks.
And I hate MIUI with a passion. Stay far far away from MIUI unless you really enjoy giving yourself a headache.

I prefer AOKP-based ROMS to CM as AOKP lets you tweak a heck of a lot more of the UI as well as system performance tweaks.
And I hate MIUI with a passion. Stay far far away from MIUI unless you really enjoy giving yourself a headache.

You can look in the change logs of the roms and they will tell you EXACTLY what is working and what's not.the developers are very open about that. Each Rom has a area what tells you EXACTLY what is working. So there are no surprises. Most roms have most everything working . They will tell you what's not working on page one. Around the change logs. Always look at that first then you will not have any surprises if something is not working. I really hope this helps you out. So if you find a Rom your interested in just read that area and it will clearly tell you what to expect. Best wishes.

Currently 1.9.5a .. I've used 1.92 as well as 1.4 in the past.
I know a lot of people will probably say arhd because it has been the most popular rom. However, my Sensation kept crashing/randomly turning off with it. The only rom that hasn't caused me too many problems is InsertCoin and OrDroid. I have been using OrDroid for several months now and couldn't be happier. I will probably stick to OrDroid for a while.
