[Q] How do I mount internal SD with a broken screen? - Captivate General

Is there anyway to mount the phone without the screen on? My screen when out, I can still hear things going on when I touch the screen but nothing shows up. I would like to be able to get all of my stuff off of the phone before I get a new one. Thanks

1. Please search, you would've found this thread
2. If your search proves unfruitful, please post questions in the Q&A section, not general.
Thanks and good luck.

Frozen/Extremely Slow - Please help!

Hello:
I have searched to forums, but did not find a thread that addressed my specific problem. I'm hoping that someone here might be able to help...
I have a Fuze running the EnergyRom August 1st build. I have not had any problems to date except for the occasional lag and the battery drain. I've never had to reset or anything.
Last night the phone was working fine, I set the alarm, plugged it in and went to sleep. At 2:30 this morning I woke up to my voicemail message on the phone. The phone had somehow called my voicemail. I hit the end key - no problem - but after that my touch screen would not function.
At first I thought the screen was broken somehow. (There are no cracks or spots; it hadn't been dropped. I did not get the "broken screen" or any black/white "noise" that others referred to in their posts.)
I did a soft reset, no result.
Hard reset, no result.
Then I realized that the screen actually works, but so slowly that it is almost imperceptable.
Right now I am on the align screen part of the boot-up. It is taking approximately 8-10 minutes for the phone to register each touch of the target and move to the next.
I assume that eventually it will boot, but my questions are:
Where do I go from there?
Should I just reflash?
What the heck happened???
Any and all advice would be appreciated. Thank you!
Flash back to stock ROM, then reflash a custom one.
Your issue will be resolved
Hi, Bruce. Thanks for responding.
I tried what you suggested, but still no luck. I flashed back to the HTC OEM ROM, then to EnergyROM 'Genesis' (SYS 23016). Now I am stuck on the "tap the screen to set up your Windows phone" screen.
No response at all when I tap the screen.
Any thoughts?
There's an empty text file you can put on your sd card that will let you skip alignment, but I don't remember what you need to name it. Try searching for skip alignment in this forum. Also, there's another recent thread in this forum where 3-4 other posters had sudden screen problems with that rom or one in the series. They may have had black screens. The phones still worked, like with MyMobiler, but the phones were messed up. Search for that thread to see if there's any help. This may be return time, I'm afraid.
When you flashed back to stock, did you see the same issues or only on Energy ROM?
I would say try another ROM.
As Ted said, many users had issues like this on his ROMs.
I looked it up, and the file you need is called "welcome.not" (no quotes). Just rename a blank text file that and put it on the root of your storage card.
Here's another thread on screen issues with that rom.

Need help with FX05 froyo android

I'm using sprint htc touch pro, using raph800 startup.txt.
When I turn off the android (not "off" but just press power to turn off screen), I can't seem to wake the screen back up, the real buttons (keyboard/volume) seem to work since I can hear them but the screen stays off. I have to soft reset it back into windows to be able to use phone again. I looked on around and found someone suggested changing the pm.sleepmode to something else, and I've tried them all and problem still persists.
Sorry if this isn't good place to post it, it wouldnt let me post in the android section where it's more relevant.
Anyone know of this problem and a fix for it?
edit: well a temp/probably permanent fix was to switch to the new gingerbread, guess this thread can be deleted now

[Q] Magic Problems with SFM 3.0

I installed the SFM 3.0 rom in my HTC Magic, great rom, everything works great, but... there is a little problem that is bugging me, every time I try to turn the phone on pressing the power button, it won't turn on!!, the only way to solve the problem is to pull the battery off the phone and then put it back in place, press the power button and... voilá!! the phone turns on again. Is there any way to solve this problem? I'll appreciate any help.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

[Q] 8013 Stuck on "Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1" Screen

I apologize for the redundancy, but I've looked through lots of threads on this issue, with many different suggestions and solutions, for varying models. And the issues are all slightly different. So I don't want to proceed without getting some feedback on exactly what's going on with my tablet.
It had been working fine until it suddenly displayed the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 screen and stayed there. I wasn't even using it at the time. It was on, and sitting on my desk. The screen woke up, displayed that, and has been that way for about almost a week.
I'm able to get to the little green Android guy briefly, but he disappears and it goes back to the "Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1" screen. I've read suggestions on flashing this or that, but I can't figure out how to do anything with it at this point, and could really use some help from someone with more knowledge than I have.
It's a stock ROM, but rooted.
Thanks in advance,
-Lori
167 views and no replies? Nobody? This thing is still stuck on that screen, and I can't figure out anything to get it out of that state, to even factory reset it.
Any help?

No one reply because we are moving on to a new device or you provide us too few details of your device or you didn't search the forum properly (because this kind of problem/solution is all over the forum).
Anyway.....try enter Download Mode (Odin Mode).
To enter Download Mode : Press & Hold Volume Down+Power button until an instruction screen appears.
If you can enter Download Mode, then you are OK, just search the forum for flashing stock/custom ROM via ODIN/HEIMDALL
Sorry, I thought I added as many details as necessary in an initial post, to prompt questions if necessary. And I did many, many searched online and in this forum, but finding none that described exactly what I was experiencing. Hence, hoping to get some direction on this particular problem.
Thanks for responding. I can get to download screen, but can't seem to do anything once there. I'll keep searching I guess.
UPDATE: So, I can get to the screen that says DOWNLOADING and instructs me not to shut off the device. But that's it. And I can only get to that if they USB cable is plugged in. And if it's connected to my PC, my PC doesn't see it (although it used to), so there doesn't appear to be anything I can do at that point.
Unless someone's got some other information. I've searched and found this (as well as many others): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2713297
But I can't get to download mode without the USB cable plugged in, as instructed.

Method 1:
Uninstall the old device driver.
Download & install a new one.
Download & run Odin v3.XX
Set your device to Download/ODIN mode.
Connect your device to your PC
Look if your device is recognized by Odin.
Flash your ROM
Method 2:
Use another computer that is proven free of malware.
This step & the rest is similar to the above....
If both methods failed, try checking your cable/connector.
Try different cable (I prefer OEM cable to cheap one).
Replace the 30 Pins connector (ONLY) IF NECESSARY

My phone "reset" itself, what should I do?

I've posted this on a few other forums without much luck...
I have a Moto E (1st Gen) and it had some trouble rebooting after it powered off because of a low battery. It kept hanging on the "M" startup screen so I held down the power button and eventually it turned on properly again.
However, after it booted up the layout, app preferences, and default apps have all been reset.
The MicroSD card I use is also acting up. I can view pictures stored on it on my phone but nothing else, the apps I have on it won't show up.
When I put it in my computer I can see them in a .android_secure folder with ".asec" files, and in the Android > "data" folder.
My Google account(s) and wifi settings were still intact and third party apps on my phone's storage are still there.
How do I get my phone back to the way it was before?

I don't have this device but, your best bet is to post this question within the following Q&A thread that's specific to your device.
