[Q] Audio tags when driving - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

I have a Galaxy S2 and I really like the fact that I can play my music with Bluetooth over my car speakers. Unfortunately, the only player that recognizes tags (artist names and song titles) is the stock player. This may seem trivial to some but I like seeing the artist name and song title on my car screen.I've contacted a couple of devs regarding this and was told that Android Developers do not allow access to the code for the tag protocol. Therefore, they are limited when it comes to this and there is nothing they can do about it. I don't understand why app developers are not allowed to do this. I think that they could probably sell more product if they could.
I don't know if this is the place to rant about this. I just want to know where I could call or write to make a complaint....please chime in if you know
Thanks

[Q] I'm new here. I would like to commission a media player with song rating support.

Well would you look at that!? Looks like Meridian (my favorite player) already has the feature I'm looking for in their pro version!
I'm a big fan of Android but I just can't find a music player that is worth a damn. The one feature I would like to have the most doesn't work properly on every single player I've ever tried. That feature is: song rating support.
I would be willing to offer money to someone who could write a decent audio player with song rating support that will sync with J. River Media Center or at the very least Windows Media Player. I know "decent" isn't exactly the most descriptive term in the world, but it's the best I can say for now.
To me, decent means...
It doesn't freeze and isn't buggy
It plays MP3s (I could care less about other formats)
It sounds OK (I'm not an audiophile, I just want it to beat radio quality) (I don't care about having an equalizer)
The UI must provide easy rating viewing and editing (must use the standard "5 Star" system)
Shuffle, repeat, play, pause, etc.
Album art display (must read folder.jpg)
Secondary features...
Playlist functionality (creation, reading, editing, copying, etc.)
Gesture support (tap album art to pause, maybe other stuff)
Automatic updating of other 'playing' tags like "last played", "times played", etc.
A player that meets my "decent" standards is worth at least $### to me. I'd love for it to stay updated and stuff too.
As I wrote in the title, I'm new here. I hope I haven't broken any XDA rules by posting this. I'd like to get a developer on board for this project but I obviously don't want to pay a bunch of money for something that isn't worth-while. How have [bounties] worked in the past? I'll come back to this thread to see if there are any respondents.

Can Android v4.0 play albums??? because android 2.2 cant

I have 473829 'albums' on my phone because i play 'albums' all the time
bought 2 'albums' this week
Just noticed that my android 2.2 can't play albums in order????????
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!
It doesn't even acknowledge 'tracks' or 'track order' - so it just plays the track in alphabetical order!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Whats all that about?????
Some moron has sat down and spent maybe a month designing a media player - played an album in ALPHABETICAL ORDER and thought - great that it!
I cant beleive it
Last phone I had, that did this was LG i bought in 1980 sumink and even that was updated/corrected within few months
I'm gob smacked that you can buy a phone in 2012 that does not know how to play an album
I supose as well as the morons that designed it, most kids today dont know what an album is so wouldn't know any better
but it like watching a movie with all the scenes payed in alphabetical order instead of the proper order
I wondered why people pay £500 for iphone and starting to see why
Its a mistake only a total moron could make - prolly the same guy that decided to make sure you are wide awake to operate the 'snooze' function
I mean - the designer must have had 100000000's of opportunities to put it right and totally failed to even notice this blunder - which doesn't look good for the future but i have to ask

Music is a deal breaker for me so it might have to be iphone for me
I'm guessing you're using the stock Android music player(is that Google music)?
Well something the iPhone can't do is let you change the default music player, so just because the player it came with doesn't mean it can't be replaced.
Some of the popular music players are poweramp, playerpro, mixzing, doubletwist, cloudskipper, and Google play music
Sent from my DROID2 using xda premium
This has nothing to do with what Android version you're on and everything to do with what music player you choose to use. There's a ton of them out there, find one that has the features you want. I'm using a Sony built one called Walkman, it's the shiz.

And this part leads me to believe you are a total douchebag not willing to do a tiny bit of research before blasting an entire OS. So disregard what I said before, buy an iPhone, please. You'll fit in well.
Playlist Manager app to play albums
this will do it for you
visit the Google store ands search for Playlist Manager by THEOKLINK
it has a nice feature of selecting whole albums randomly.

Need Mod developed for S2

Hello Developers,
I am looking for a MOD in S2 that will allow me to play a music file during an active call and will let the other person on the call hear it. This is a feature available in Nokia phones. Someone suggested a software (Poweramp player) that lets me play a music file during an active call but the other person on the call doesn't hear it even on speakerphone. This is because phone speakers are away from microphones. I don't know how Nokia does it, but they might be playing it internally and the sound is being captured in the phones microphone. Is it possible to do this? I am willing to pay a fee to have this developed. Please let me know...

[Q] Is there a way to listen to audio books and read the text at the same time?

Hello,
I bought my 8 year old a 9.7" android tablet.
I would like to get him an app or some way for him to listen to audiobooks and read along with the audio.
When he gets tired from reading, he could just listen to the audio and when he doesn't want the audio, he could just read himself.
I would like to emulate the experience of me reading to him pointing with my finger at the text, where we are right now, so he gets more familiar with the words.
I let him play a lot of Civilization 5 and give him advice on what to build etc, which makes him have to read 90% of the time he actually thinks he's just playing
I'm just trying to make reading a more enjoyable and less tedious experience for him because oftentimes he reads the letters, but can't figure out the word, it's supposed to be, especially when their foreign words.
I'd appreciate any advice you guys might have.
Just play the audiobook mp3 while the e-book is on screen. Almost all Android tablets support multi-tasking, so even when you switch to the view of the book, the mp3 will still be playing. This would not require any additional resources that the tablet does not already come with.

That's of course possible, but when you're not THAT good at reading yet, it's hard to find the exact line of the text, where the audio is. So, I don't know, something similar to Karaoke would be cool.
It'll especiallyhard, when you want to pause or start again, switching between the apps, without a hard button to push or to go back a few seconds or a paragraph

How can I get audio mixer output or playing music stream?

Sorry this is not "general" question but I have no enough posts to ask in developers room. I do not want waste a time therefore I ask what I really need. Please answer on topic.
I need get stereo PCM 44/16 audio in buffer but I still cannot find good way to do that. I can get "mic" stream but it is not exactly stereo - buffer has odd samples equal to even. It is 2 channels mono instead. Any solution for native Qt/C++ or Java code is acceptable for me. But it must work in all Android versions starting from 4.0.3. I need "what you hear" signal or at least "now playing music" stream. This must work with any music source. I look at tiny-ALSA but I'm not sure if it will solve my task. Should I distribute tiny-ALSA with my application or it is built in all Android devices? Or may be I can get just a stream like OSS /dev/dsp gives? I tried copy from /dev/snd/pcmC0D0 but without success. Any help appreciated.
