Try to flash a phone if you do not help means that the operator, or reset settings
Do you have the correct APN (Access Point Name) set for your network operator?
Some apps that allow you to turn data on/off rename the APN from for example:
internet to _disabled_internet.
If you use the app to switch it off then uninstall the app, it leaves the APN with the wrong name.
Do you have the these settings as follows:
Settings > Wireless & network settings > Mobile Networks > Data enabled = True
> Use only 2G networks = False
Yes i think that i have the correct apn .

I usually used wifi at home/ company, rarely use 3G, so I used to turn it off by using APNdroid.
Today I needed to search something online so I turned my 3G on by using APNdroid. The 3G icon didn't show up. It didn't work even I switched on the "data roaming" in setting, reboot, switch to airplane mode then switch back.....
Anybody can give me some advice?
I'll second this for the battery savings

With APNDroid in the "on" mode, check your APN settings in Wireless Settings > Moblie Networks > Access Point Names. If there is nothing there, try Menu > Restore Defaults.

First make sure 3g is on, then open your dialer and dial *#*#4636*#*#
From the menu that now pops up, select phone information, then scroll down and under preferred network type, select WCDMA preferred.
That work?

Check you have the correct APN settings active.
Settings > Mobile Networks > APNs >
Google the APN for your provider then compare to what's been loaded on there.

Hey There,
Have a Rogers (canada) version of the I727R, I followed all the instructions to root and get SkyIceCream v7.2 up and running. Looks great but the data connection did not work after I made the updates. Wouldn't connect through the browser or market.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Check under your mobile network settings, if you have an lte plan set your apn name to ltemobile.apn
sky cream sandwich sets your apn to the non lte apn name... And if you have an lte plan that won't work.

After you set it uo run the apn backup app for the next time you flash

I went into Network Settings and made sure the LTE option was set. But that didn't solve it. Is that what you mean by APN?
Sorry n00bish question.
Thanks

Go to Settings -> Wireless and network -> Mobile networks -> Access Point Names
Do you see it set to ltemobile.apn or another server? If it's not ltemobile.apn, you'll need to add it so click the Menu button and choose new APN to add it.
I will give this a shot tonight.. Thanks!

What he said ;-) , sorry I assumed you knew how to change or add a new apn. Hopefully this works for you!

Network Icons?
Guys, not the same issue here as my network seems to be working and connecting properly. For some reason though all network icons at the top are gone. The only think I have is the battery icon. No wifi, 4g, network, nothing.
Any thoughts?
I have an unlocked nexus one for t mobile and k haven't been able to get mom's messages ever since I unlocked it can anyone help me with this problem?
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA
You have to have correct mms setting to receive and send those messages. You can get your settings from your carrier.
Settings -> wireless & networks -> mobile networks -> GSM/UMTS Options -> Access point names -> press menu -> New APN
These are the fields I had to set:
Name
APN
MMSC
MMS proxy
MCC
MNC
Authentication type
APN type
I used android 2.2 for this instruction so there may be slight differences.
Had the same problem with optus here in oz, rang them got the mms settings now alls good

Try clearing the data through settings, manage apps.

The APN settings are found under Settings-> Wireless and Networks-> Mobile Network-> Access Point Names, or the equivalent on your phone's ROM. You can edit or create the settings from there.

Hi,
When I am on 3g network no websites open on dolphin and stock browser but on Wi-Fi I don't face this problem. I can access whatsapp, play store and all apps that access the internet on 3g and Wi-Fi. Please guide the solution. I am using Samsung Galaxy S Advance GT-I9070 gingerbread.
May be u would have enabled the ' use only 2g' option in the settings menu.....

In connection type I have tried auto and WCDMA only. Even if it was GSM only (2g) than would that block websites on browser and allow other apps to access the internet?
Try rebooting your phone or ask for network settings from the carrier network
Hit thanks if I helpes you
Try going to your about phone settings, and updating PRL and Profile, it may solve your issue.
An alternative option if you have a recovery available, is to flash your radio/modem. I had terrible 3g connection issues, and that solved it for me.
I found the solution. The proxy setting sent by the service provider was 0.0.0.0 and port 0.Changed both to blank and it worked
