one of the main reasons I am keeping the sensation is that it has a big enough screen (4.3") and at the same time the phone itself isn't too big. I think the only other phone of similar size that has a 4.3" screen is the GS2.
who else here dreams of a 4.3-4.5" screen phone with minimal bezel? now that the 4 buttons could be replaced in ICS
That's too big. 3.8-4.0 is the sweet spot. The Defy almost had it right.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App
but anyway I look at it, GS2 still shows its massive black bezels (top/bottom). Sensation is the closest thing to minimal bezels.

4.3 is good for me. I absolutely love it.
I wish Rezound would be available in Taiwan..
Still, theres Ville and Edge. If these two are still US carriers only like the Rezound..hell I'll rage lol.
Yes, 4.3 is perfect for me. Been in love with that size since my HD2. My Defy is to small for me. I wish HTC would make a 4.3 inch waterproof phone.
4.3 is my sweet spot not to big, still light and fits into my pocket, and most of all with my ageing eyesight I don't struggle to read anything
If I go back to a job needing a suit I would pop for the 4.7 inch

You should check out a company called Liquipel (had a booth at CES 2012) that can waterproof anything by putting a nano coat over the phone. From what I understand it only costs like $60 to do a phone.
i remember my HD2 which i got at release... everyone was mocking me about how HUGE my phone was now its standard.
to be honest, 4.3 is perfect! everything above is to big to hold, anything under is to small/not optimal.
HTC needs to make thinner phones though... to thick in general. HTC Ville will be grate, but worried about Edge :/ (sensation could be thinner)
I think my last phone, the Incredible S was just about the right size at 4". At least it seemed right in comparison to my XE.
I find the sensation 4.3 screen just perfect, the screen is quite big, but it easily fits into my pockets. I dont like the s2, its kinda ugly lol.... i dont like how its so thin and plastiky. The sensation is thicker, which many people hate, but I adore >< Feels great to hold.
Sensation screen size and amaze screen size is perfect. 4.3, bunp up to 4.5, too big. Bump down to 4.0, too small

After owning my Sensation and hearing about all the issues on here. and having one or two myself. im having mixed feelings about keeping the sensation over my Desire HD. Anyone else feel the same way
Just wanted to really know how many people own a sensation now or keeping it or selling it off.
might help me make a decision. or see how other people feel.
After all it is potentially £450 ($600) daily part of our life

me too, i have noticed that my network signal is not far behind from my dhd. sometimes it sems better but majority of the time it is the same or 1-2 bars lower than my dhd. its easier to deathgrip the sensation.
but dhd does suffer from deathgrip too i tried it.
Also im thinking the problem may be cured a little either by HTC or if different radios are released and roms.
So far, im very pleased with mine. Great screen with realistic color reproduction and resolution, Sense is nice for stock and i really enjoy the shape of the curved glass. The phone feels slim in your hand because of it's palm friendly shape.

I must say I am keeping mine. the full price @ 648 isn't worth it but I'm a phone addict. This screen and sense 3.0 is beautiful. If you put your hand at the back of the phone to have the audio come up and it bounces off your hand then the speaker is loud but unfortunately it shoots out in the whole room and its low if you don't do that. The phone gets hot sometimes but not as much as the first day. It's was burning up. Beyond that, the memory isn't an issue!

I thought i'd never see a phone that felt better than the Nexus One. Then hearing it had a 4.3" screen, I thought it would be a behemoth like the HD7, the only other 4.3" phone i've owned. But it feels much smaller and natural to hold. And i've always been a fan of Sense.

I love mine, but the internet connection is very slow most of the time. If I'm not on Wifi, it's pretty bad. Maybe a custom ROM will help, or new radio, etc. But yeah, definitely keeping it, barring some tragic accident or malfunction, in which case I would just buy a new one lol

If the bootloader is unlocked, I might consider it. However, odds are, it isn't. MySense isn't exactly my favorite. The device itself is basically a chubbier Glacier with a keyboard, and not as nice of a screen as the Sensation. I really wish they would've ditched the ugly chrome stylings, but I guess that's their "brand" for this line. The 3.7" form factor is also a little too small for my tastes, and I'm looking to get at least a 4" screen next time. Not to mention: I'm still kinda pissed that T-Mo dumped the Glacier so hard, providing only a single crappy official accessory (BT dock) that didn't make use of the phone's docking pin feature, and smashed in the power button.
The camera is interesting, but the standard Google camera app leaves a lot to be desired, and I would be rooting this thing for sure.
At this point, I think I'm happy with my Glacier until the Nexus 3 comes around. If I had to pick a phone between then, I would prefer the Galaxy S II or the Sensation. How about you guys?

Exactly, why can't they make a 4" or 4.3" qwerty slider. Don't think people will mind the bigger bulk right...?????
I don't think you need a bigger screen if you have a keyboard ... Just my thought ....
Sent from my My Touch 4G using XDA Premium App
While having a bigger screen does mean bigger touchscreen keyboard and less errors, nothing can ever replace a hardware keyboard thats/as was solid as the g1 imo.
I just can't understand why every manufacturer has a hard time making a 4' screen with a 5 row keyboard? I agree the G1 had the best keyboard, hence why I just upgraded last week because it was extremely outdated.

After having a lot of ergonomic issues when I had a GS2 for a little while, I was wondering if the Sensation was better in this respect as it's still a fairly large handset.
Depends on your hands though right? For someone like me who liked the Galaxy S series and felt the 3.7" phones are too small for portrait at least. (I can't type portrait on a iPhone). I suspect you'll have to go to a smaller phone :/
I have small hands and it feels fine. Thanks to the curved shape of the back it fits quite nicely into my hand.

Actually the sensation is slightly bigger at the longest points but the curved edges create the

I've held both and i have to say that the feel of the sensation is one of the things that made me choose it! Not only it feels like a more premium device, it has better ergonomics too! I've been using it for 3 months now! GS2 is a great phone but it could have had better build quality! Cheers!
I have long fingers, and it wasn't until I got my Sensation that I noticed how cramped my hands were around my Nexus one. I honestly think I could use an even larger phone...
But to answer your question, IMO the Sensation has a very good feel to it. Its very comfortable for me. I would recommend it to anyone.

They are big. I personally think its much higher quality than the Sensation.. (Just because its aluminum doesnt make it a better build quality) infact i think that about Samsung compared to HTC anyways.. Sammy makes strong light devices.
Even with a lower resolution the Amoled + screens are far superior to the LCD screen HTC uses and the Note has an HD version of the AMOLED + Makes me really want one.

Yeah, it's very good. It just simply, works. No waiting for this or that to come out for it or waiting for some dev to fix something that apple should have fixed long before releasing only to have that one dev go buy a completely different device and forget about you.
Android has better hardware but piss poor work ethic from the manufacturers.
Apple has much nicer looking products with lesser hardware, but they make damn sure that your never notice the lesser hardware. This iPad 2 is fast! I am typing this on the on screen keyboard. Something that was a pain in the butt on my dads toshiba thrive.
Android needs to finish what they start. I got tired of waiting for others to make my android devices what they were advertised to be. I got tired of having to devote most of my time learning how to do something on a forum that was supposed to work straight out of the box.
I love my sensation, but not all the drama that I have gone through to get it to where it is today. A lot of buttkissing devs and being *****ed at for eta asking has pushed me closer to apple. If it weren't for tmobile having me by the balls, I'd have an iPhone. People will say to go get what you want, but that is so dillusional. We wind up stuck with what we have and then have to deal with the issues. I was disgusted to see the sensations early problems needing fixing and then watch Htc come out with four clones of the sensation each new month rather than fix and finish what they started. Finish what you start!
Matt
Samoled is amazing, better than Sensation screen but also takes up that much more power. Sensation screen is also great not take away from that. 5.3" is a bit much dont you think? I had the vibrant it felt bigger than our Sensation with its 4.0" . Also I didn't really appreciate the plastic but it was/is really sturdy. I don't anyone had their phone break. I also have to say if the Note's glass is anything like the Vibrant's then you will be happy. That screen is almost impossible to scratch. You could literally take a key to it without a screen protector. Wish our sensation glass was like that. And lastly, touchwiz isn't bad at all. Give it a chance, with all the modded twiz launchers and alternatives its a fun device. Also theirs a sense look alike launcher I used for a couple days on my vibrant. So all in all it comes down to preference. But I have to say one thing, Samsung sucks at updating android versions. We got froyo 2 months after gb came out. And its not about to change either.

Agreed.
One thing I do notice however .... the phone seems to be the benchmark the other manufacturers shoot for or want to beat.
Then there's the guys who like to say they have a better option then the Sensation.
It would seem this phone set a new standard.
This is a phone... That is a phone... They do pretty much the same thing. Why make so much of an effort for a bigger better screen with a juvenile u.i. Atleast wait for something like a quad core and impressive games/apps exclusive for the quad. I swear i dont see anything that the sensation does which the desire hd couldnt. IMHO, these frequent minor updates dont make much sense and also ruin the fun after updating to a much more capable phone which is just better at everything.

I completely agree. My girlfriend has an S3 and the blue tint is incredibly noticeable to me. The One X has the best screen of any device I've ever owned, by far.

After owning an iPhone for 4 years straight, I vowed to never purchase a phone with a physical home button again, and I will stick to it! Samsung dropped the ball with build quality on the SIII, anyone who argues in favor of it over a HOX simply hasn't had enough time with both devices.
