[q] help! Deleted bootloader in my w7272 - General Questions and Answers

I erroneously cleared all the NVRAM, included the bootloader, using "Smart Phone Flash Tool". Therefore my phone is now a brick.
Now, it does neither switch on, nor it connects to the Flash tool.
Is there a way to re-flash the bootloader and, eventually, a complete ROM?

If you deleted the bootloader then you phone won't boot. If cwm works then you can try flashing a rom but if that doesn't work then your phone is bricked

[Q] ;Help please. Can't get my Touch Pro's boot to start

Hello
I've flashed my Touch Pro several times in the past 2 years and everything went always OK. The last time I've flashed with TAELROM_v5.23138_17SEP2010
Everything went OK for several days, until yesterday:
1. battery drained very quick after full charge (6 hours);
2. Can't put it to charge again;
3. Can't wake it up, even with other battery fully charged;
4. No boot menu;
5. With just access to bootloader mode
Some info:
Is the device HardSPL'ed
Yes: SPL-1.90.Olinex
Is the device unlocked
Yes
Access to bootloader mode (tricolour screen)
Yes (won't start the phone even if I try to soft reset in bootloader mode)
How can I revive?
Thanks in advance
If you can get into the bootloader just plug it into your usb port and flash a new ROM.
I've done it already, and the problem stays the same... Although the installation runs normally, after reinstall the phone doesn't restarts unless in bootloader mode!
Could it be a hardware problem?
Try pulling the sd card (and maybe the SIM card) and resetting. A corrupted sd card could jack up the device.

if that does not help then is something wrong with hardware probably.
I always pull out sd card and sim before flashing with new rom just to avoid that kind of problems.
expert.. help me please..
i also have same problem as u'r.. the device stuck in 3 color bootloader, i already flash it with original factory rom, but nothin' change.. try using axe box to create goldcard, but the problem still not solve. can somebody help me pls...
1. when updating with factory rom (RUU_Raphael_hTC_Asia_5.07.707.2_signed_Raphael_52.58.35.30_1.11.25.01ship) it stuck at 25%
-message: error(226): flash write -iu634
2. when updating via sd card the message that appear is -updating failed, wrong OS..
what should i do next to survive my lovely phone?
My advice in this case is: try task29 before flashing your rom (without sd- and simcard in TP)
so, what i should do now my friends?

Do you have hard spl? Or were you flashing a stock rom with a gold card? I would try flashing the stock rom for your device/carrier. You may be screwed, if you don't have hard spl.
In my case, the problem was hardware: charging malfunction.
Thanks to all of you who helped me

If you can get into bootloader, then try flashing hard spl. Then flash whatever you want.

[Q] My Nexus S won't boot at all... Help, please

Hi
I'm facing a problem with my Nexus S, before it was working... but, unfourtunatlly i just make some modification in the system file and now my phone not working and stuck at the google logo black screen... exactly, i think the problem in the java runtime.jar file that was in the system folder, i replace it with another file and all that done since i want to add another language to the system so that it can understand it. but, the device now is not working....
I tried to enter the recovery mode and wipe all data, but nothing change. its keep the same. so i tried also to format the system (from the recovery) since, the modification done in that folder... also, its not working....
So, I think the best way right now is to return it to the default rom(official one from google) , i download it, and tried to flash it using the "fastboot" command but it keep give me error when writing for system.img file....
What can I do right know ??? I can't use my device at all...
Help me Guys, please.....
For future reference Factory wipe doesn't touch /system...just /data.
If you formatted your /system, and it actually formatted, all you can do now is restore a working system.
If you didn't make your own nandroid backup of the system (and you ALWAYS should in the future before messing with system level modifications) to have a known working configuration, then your best bet in my opinion is to go to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=884093
Download the nandroid image from there and flash it to your phone using Clockwork Recovery.
Good luck.

But, The question here is.... how can i flash it when i can't get access to the memory(since the Nexus S doesn't have sd memory slot) and to the system ??
when i enter the recovery, all i can do is use the fastboot command.... can i use it here ??
Thanks alot .....
If you boot into Clockwork, you should be able to use it's mounts menu to mount the sdcard...then use adb to push the files to your sdcard. adb should be active and working in clockwork.
If that doesn't work out for you, you could also try the Odin and "download mode" approach from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=947950

Hello guys
I have the same problem, but i guess for different reasons.
I applyed the superboot from the modaco´s forum on my nexus s, but I guess I did it with the wrong version (i had got the 2.3.4 ota before doing so and used a 2.3.3 version) and now my phone won´t boot. My rom was stock. Now, it remains on that google initial screen. I can´t get to upload anything for the device since I guess the usb debug mode is off, although when I connect the device to the computer, the system shows the usb driver. I guess my device is GT90 something, can´t say for sure. Have to check at the box.
That said, I´d like some help on what to do about it.
I´ll be forever grateful!

The thing is that i already have clockworkmode installed and i can access it through bootload, in fact is the only thing i can do. My problem is that i just can´t send the recovery.img from the pc to the phone. And I also think that the usb debug mode is unavailabe, so I can´t activate it.
I´m new to this thing so the only way I could move files into the phone was through windows explorer drag and drop. Honestly I´m lost without it.
Is there a different way to push it to the phone ?
I understand this forum is intended to more experienced users, and for that I apologise.
Guys I found a solution by enabling USB from clockwork! Thanks! Keep the good work!

Hello "ectole", could you let me know how you get out of it. I am in the same problem. I followed this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13800735#post13800735 to root my phone, now I always boot into clockwork. I can I boot into Nexux again?
Hi guys,
I'm in a similar situation. I tried to install CyanogenMod 7 to my Nexus S (ATT), got stuck at the skating dude.
Booted back into Clockwork, and tried to flash back to the stock firmware, but I think I accidentally flashed the wrong one (for the 9020T instead of 9020A) build. Now I can't get into ClockworkMod or anything on the screen whatsoever.
Does anyone have any tips at all? I'm really screwed here, would appreciate it a lot...

Hey bante just go to clockwork then to mount/dismount menu and the last option should be mount USB storage. Mount it and stay there and your PC should see the sd card. Then upload what you want.

Odin went thru the whole process and said success, then my phone shut off, and will not power back on. Any ideas?

need help soft brick after ics update

I rooted the phone following the steps here on the xda thread and I tried afterwards upgrading the firmware to ics. I followed these instructions http://www.android.gs/update-htc-one-s-with-rooted-android-4-0-4-ics-2-31-401-5-firmware-rom/ and afterwards my phone just keeps restarting and restarting. I didn't make a recover image because I was too confident that it was going to work. Afterwards I panicked and pressed factory reset, thinking everything will turn back to normal. I lost all the files I saved onto the sd card and I don't know what to do now. I can't even use the all in one kit. Please help, I greatly appreciate it
Why?!?! This is a Q..belongs in the Q&A! Run an RUU.

Lock your bootloader. Flash the Factory RUU from this thread. Everything will be wiped but you will have a fresh clean phone. Then you can use my toolkit to root your phone.
Also, this should be in the Q&A.
how can i flash the rom if i cant even connect my phone because i wiped my sd card and it doesnt recognize my phone
1 - Post in the right section.
2 - READ other threads and do the work yourself. I suggest the thread that talks about fixing a brick.
C'mon people...
i apologize for posting in the wrong forum im desperately in search for a solution and i cant find one so what am i suppose to do?
Bro you just need to to lock your bootloader..go into bootloader, open a cmd window on your computer, and type "fastboot oem lock". Then run the carrier specific RUU..

[Q] Vodafone Smart 2 Brick

I'm not sure where to post this, sorry for that.
I haven't found any help or so in any threads about my phone on this forum or on others...
I own a Vodafone Smart 2 (Alcatel V860) mobile phone that I rooted, had the original ROM (got rid of the Vodafone mess ) for a while and then flashed Roeddie's v 0.9.9 (OTA 4) ROM and it was all going well...
Until a couple of days ago when I saw a thread on HtcMania.com claiming a clockworkmod recovery for this phone, so I said why not... (not allowed to post the url...)
I've put the .zip on my SDcard and flashed it via the original recovery. The cwm loaded, but at reboot it was stuck in the original recovery. Sort of Boot Loop.
Happened this before (when flashing some idiot cm7), so I wiped data/factory reset, dalvik, cache partition and I restored a previous backup, supposed to solve that Boot Loop. But, this time, it didn't... The phone was still booting directly into the original recovery.
So I tried another thing. I've started the phone in fastboot mode and used the fastboot method to write that backup. That meant "fastboot erase bootloader, boot, system, userdata, custpack, recovery, cache" and then "fastboot flash the images from the backup", method that I used before and worked without any problem.
But, this time, after I erased everything, when I started to flash the images from the backup... the phone, somehow, POWERED OFF, I still don't have the slightest idea why... :crying:
When i powered it on, the bootloader was missing so it just froze with the Android logo on the screen and after a few seconds it shut down.
I tried starting it in fastboot mode, but no luck. It starts just like that every time, but if I plug the USB cable in it, it doesn't shut down anymore, freezing with the logo on screen.
Windows won't recognize it under any circumstances, no matter what drivers I have. no adb, fastboot. So it's pretty much useless.
If i restart it like 5 times, Windows eventually recognizes it as a Modem. Useless.
I think it's a Soft Brick, because it starts but it has no idea what to do without the bootloader. It would generally be recoverable, but, as you can see, I don't have any method to communicate with this phone...
I would consider the jtag, with a RIFF Box. Taking the motherboard out of it and "writing the dead body", but I don't think the Riff Manager supports this sh**ty phone and I wouldn't like to pay for it.
The phone is still covered by warranty, but I'm not sure if they are going to do it for free, because I messed with it.
I can try that story: "I was taking an OTA Update and the phone never powered on." maybe they are going to buy it.
So is it any other method to write at least the bootloader on it, any other that the ones mentioned before, methods that I have no access to ?

It could be a hard brick and your info seems to confirm this but don't take my word for it. Search on google for issues with your device I seem to remember reply to a thread similar to this a while back.

The I think.this is because when some phones are bricked they show the manufactures name such as on a hard bricked htc device it sometimes shows qhsusb_dload (don't quote me on that if my spelling is wrong) and it connects under a Qualcomm USB device driver. That is because sometimes on devices the chipset is made by Qualcomm but on your device the chipset is made by Broadcom and that why it shows a Broadcom named device driver.

Yes, the bad news is that even JTAG could not repair my hard-bricked vodacrap II. My advice is to be really carefull when installing the custom android version, especially when using another sim than vodafone, some of the mods won't let you insert the network cod (eight of 1), mine didn't work with any version of the mods, sometimes I wasn't able to receive calls, sometimes to make calls, depending. Take it and keep it using vodafone or in any other case don't buy is not worthy.
i accidentally erased boot and bootloader.nor download mode nor recovery work and my pc recognize it like Broadcom USB wireless modem.Any solution?

Nexus 5 stuck on boot, help please!!!

Hello to you all, I am new to XDA and it is because of this problem I am having.
The other day, my N5 shut down unexpectedly and kept that virtual power button pressed (I've seen this happen to a lot of people). The next day, it stopped doing that, but the next big issue started: The phone was stuck on boot animation. Since then, I am not able to boot the phone, so I entered the bootloader (which is still functional) and tried to unlock the bootloader (I blame myself for not doing this since the beginning) from my PC but every time it reboots the phone to keep the changes, the bootloader locks itself again, preventing me to fastboot an image to my device
This is the main issue here, I can't start up my phone, the bootloader won't unlock and somehow, I can't ADB because my PC won't recognize the device. In other words, it seems my Nexus is bricked (may be the first Nexus in the history to be bricked).
I believe there must be a solution for this problem, can anyone help me please!?!?!
Thank you all!
this is how I fix mine.

Hey, thanks for this help, I'll let you know how that goes. And yes, I can boot into recovery.
My device isnt recognized on ADB, and everytime I try to unlock the bootloader, when the device restarts, immeditaly locks the bootloader again.
did u factory reset and wipe dalvik / cache? did u install a correct PC driver? did you ever using adb to connect to your phone?
I remember someone said sometimes you need to unlock the bootloader several times to get it unlocked.
from this and this, your nand flash seems has problem.
Try using LG Flash Tool to flash facory image, it doesn't need to unlock bootloader, but i think it's better not to write anything to nand flash as you don't know if it has problem or not, do so might make your phone completely bricked.
