I don't know~

Hidden network on ICS
I'm running Ice Cream Sandwich, so if you're not then disregard because I don't remember how that works.
Goto Settings/WiFi
At the top of the screen it says "Add Network"
Type in SSID and security info click "Save"
go back to Settings/WiFi
select the network from the list and hit connect.

Wifi

I've got an Xda Orbit 2, which I like. I use the wifi connection a lot, but would like the phone to default to wifi if it is available, instead of trying to make a data connection. Is this possible?I've seen this somewhere before, so apologies if it's been covered before.
TIA
Desmac
Go to settings -> connections -> connections... then tap header advanced... then press button choose network...
for both options choose company network...
now the device is not using other connections anymore...
now you can turn on your wifi... it establishes a connection as soon as there is one reachable...
Thanks, sinoo, I'll give that a try

[Q] 3G is not working at Android 2.2 installed on HTC HD2

Hi guys, I checked a lot the forum but couldn't find an exact and complete answer for my problem. So decided to open a new thread that it may be a guide also for others experiencing similar problem.
I have a HTC HD2 and there was Windows Mobile 6.5 on it just before setting up Android 2.2. I have Android 2.2 on my phone now.
Complete software information I've installed is:
Android Version: 2.2
Baseband Version: 15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14
Kernel Version: 2.6.32.15-g66f6ed7-dirty
Build Number: 2.29.405.5.CL293415 release-keys
Software Number: 2.29.405.5
Browser Version: WebKit 3.1
My exact problem is that 3G which is not working after installation of Android 2.2. (Wi-fi is working.) 3G was working perfectly with WM6.5.
If someone here knows the solution and steps to activate 3G, I will appreciate it very much.
Thank you.
same here
have you found a solution yet, as i also would like to know how to get 3g after flashing MDJ's 2.2 NAND version.
its very fustrating without 3g
Any solution for this?
Do you guys have found the solution for this problem? If, please share.
Thank you.

Yes, search for APN settings on the forums. You'll need to go into the mobile data section of your settings and change them to epc.tmobile.com if you haven't already.
Search APN settings. Insert them as instructed.
Hi lahanadar,
Follow these instructions:
- Press the main screen button “Windows hardware button, goto setting and then go to “Wireless & networks”.
Select and check the following option on Mobile network:
“Mobile network ~ Use phone for data connection when WiFi is unavailable”.
“Mobile network ~ Set options for roaming, networks, APNs”
“Access Point Names”. Note – A blank APNs page will be shown.
Go to “‘Windows hardware button”. It will bring up 2 options ~ ‘New APN’ and ‘Reset to default’.
Select ‘New APN’.
Key in ‘My APN’ by clicking on ‘Name’. Note – you can key in any name you want. I selected ‘My APN’.
Key in ‘My APN’ by clicking on ‘APN’. Note – you can key in any APN you want. I selected ‘My APN’.
Click on ‘Windows hardware button’.
Then click on ‘Save’ and choose on ‘My APN’.
You are done.
Try to disable Wi-Fi connection. Your phone should connect with the Internet using 3G data connection now. Enjoy…
Continues to drop connection
Thanks for your suggestion! It worked at first, but it keeps turning off anyway. I don't know if I should go with another OS since I haven't been able to find a fix.

First make sure 3g is on, then open your dialer and dial *#*#4636*#*#
From the menu that now pops up, select phone information, then scroll down and under preferred network type, select WCDMA preferred.
That work?

Check you have the correct APN settings active.
Settings > Mobile Networks > APNs >
Google the APN for your provider then compare to what's been loaded on there.

[Q] 727R - Sky Cream Sandwich - No Data Connection

Hey There,
Have a Rogers (canada) version of the I727R, I followed all the instructions to root and get SkyIceCream v7.2 up and running. Looks great but the data connection did not work after I made the updates. Wouldn't connect through the browser or market.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
APN?

Check under your mobile network settings, if you have an lte plan set your apn name to ltemobile.apn
sky cream sandwich sets your apn to the non lte apn name... And if you have an lte plan that won't work.

After you set it uo run the apn backup app for the next time you flash

I went into Network Settings and made sure the LTE option was set. But that didn't solve it. Is that what you mean by APN?
Sorry n00bish question.
Thanks

Go to Settings -> Wireless and network -> Mobile networks -> Access Point Names
Do you see it set to ltemobile.apn or another server? If it's not ltemobile.apn, you'll need to add it so click the Menu button and choose new APN to add it.
I will give this a shot tonight.. Thanks!

Network Icons?
Guys, not the same issue here as my network seems to be working and connecting properly. For some reason though all network icons at the top are gone. The only think I have is the battery icon. No wifi, 4g, network, nothing.
Any thoughts?

[Q] Phone number is "Unknown

If I go under "system settings" > "about phone" > "status", under the "my phone number" and "MIN" labels, it says "unknown".
Does anyone know what that means and how I can get my number back there?
Thanks

Go to Settings > Wireless & Network > Mobile Networks > CDMA subscription and change it to NV. Once you do that, hit airplane mode and once the airplane icon appears uncheck it and it should bring you to an activating screen. Hit the home key and go back to CDMA subscription and change it back to RUIM/SIM. Try that!
