Most of the roms or other mods developed by the developer are being uploaded to the file sharing sities...but frm few days many of the popular file sharing ities are being shut down or are running down...even on sum sities there was a warning frm FBI or smthing.....
many threads are now unsueful becoz of the links being down.this is a serious matter as the valuable work of data foe the community is unable to get to the community.....these file sharing sities must be restored....even filesonic.com says u cn only download files that you have uploaded.dont wants the future of internet......

yup seems to be.....just found this awesum rom for my device and wat a work and creativity by the developing team but tried every single downloading link but wasnt succesful...m getting this warning....

You are NOT allowed to upload ROMs to the FTP but everyone has been posting links to ROMs found outside the XDev site.
But reading the posts you would probably have found the link just like I did. It is always better to use the SEARCH feature of this forum befoire asking questions. If you're a noob, I bet you any questions that you might have, have probably been asked a couple times already.

i have setup a website www.our-xda.co.uk as a portal for downloading roms and other cool stuff that used to be available from xda-developers ftp site.
i have started by uploading artemis roms etc the phone i actually have but in order to be effective i need other roms from the other devices. please can users with these devices log-on to the website and upload whatever they have and i will make them available for others to share and so we can continue to develop these devices.

Just wanted everyone to know that me and FB and desexton will be chaning the links around as we move All team acid works to Sorceforge most of mine and FB's are already there we need to move desextions work there to. We are also going to make it link to a folder for the rom .
what does this mean for you. It means if you wish you can go back and try older versions of the roms as we will be updateing all the downloads with version numbers and leaving the old versions up on our respatory for edcutational purposes people can download them try them make your own modifications. we just ask if you do please reference the original rom if you decide to post it.
We are also working on a Sorceforge homepage and Sgs4g Wiki that will be searchable and will provide links back to xda and rootz wiki where you will find the answers you need.
This also means You can submit bug reports directly to us though sf on the sf page.. This in no way takes anything away from xda or rootz wiki but it should help the poor mods when having to flush out 4000 pages of redundant questions or threads
for those of you who dont know goo.im has been up and down over the past few days while upgrading its server. But lately it has wiped all devs uploaded roms from their servers. while alot of devs have already reuploaded, alot have not. which makes it inaccessible to any new users. that makes a huge problem if they dont have a mirror, which I know some do not. so lets fix this: by creating our own mirrors. Im going to use my goo account and mirror creator account to help you guys mirror it, and help provide organization for all roms.
what I want to do is any rom that is hosted only on goo.im, and has not said no mirroring allowed, is to mirror the files users have. Ill leave a list here for all mirrors for each device and dev, so that can see if their work is mirrored, and can ask to remove it if they want.
if you want a file mirrored, send a link to the original rom thread, what version you have, and someway for me to get the file. Also if you already have your own mirror, I will just use that. Also you MUST post on the original thread a link to the mirror for users to see.
Also when I upload it ill put in another zip with a .txt giving credits and original link, and anyone who asks, i will remove their work. If anyone thinks this is a good idea as a temporary fix, tell me. if is a waste of time, not helpful, or too much work, also tell me. its just an idea I had.
also If i put it on goo.im it will be under devs/evodev/othersroms/devicename/developer/rom devicename for example is supersonic, your phones name, and DEV is the name of the dev who mad the rom. and I will make sure there is a way to see the original thread.

Some devs don't want mirrors...just because the website was wiped doesn't give us an excuse to "break the rule." I'm sure you mean well but really there's no rush, devs will update it soon, why cause the extra hassle?
Guys and Dear Senior Members,
It seems like none of the dev host (d.hst) links are working. At first I thought the problem was with the particular link I was downloading from...but since then I have tried downloading from many other threads(for custom ROM,Patches etc) and none of the links are working. I use IDM(Internet Download Manager) for downloading and every time I get this error message as quoted below
" An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host...."
Hope You guys can clear our doubt and tell us when we can start downloading again.
