but when i try flash system.img
its stuck on sending system.img
i have no idea how to fix this
please help

What happened immediately before getting this problem?
I had a similar issue trying to root my MZ601, however fastboot mode worked fine for me to recover via USB.
What ROM are you currently running? Can you get to recovery?
You may have more success copying your *.img files to an SD card and flashing via recovery.
Good luck!

Yes, at the top of the Xoom, to the left of the Audio jack. The actual slot is located inside there below the cover and the slot closest the screen is it, hence the (microSD)

Did you backup your device? If so you can just factory reset and clear everything then just restore from your backup.
Or if you can get into boot loader, there is an option inside clockworkrecovery to mount your SD as a USB device while your Xoom is connected via USB cable.

-SOLVED- [Q] Trying to root, but can't boot into CWM...can anyone help?

I was using this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1078019 to unlock, install CWM, and then root. Unlocking was fine, installing that version of CWM seemed okay, but when I enter command "fastboot reboot", then hold down the volume - button after 3 seconds of the Moto logo showing, then pressing the volume + key, I get only 1 option....-->Android Recovery. I press the Volume + key, get "Entering Android Recovery Mode", and below that "Reading ODM Fuse 1", then the screen switches to an android with a yellow hazard sign in his tummy.
From that screen, if I press Volume + and power, I see:
Android system recovery <3e>
Use volume keys to highlight; power button to select.
reboot system now
apply update from USB drive
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
I don't get a choice to apply something from the microSD card I have installed with the WiFi_RootTool_3.1.zip I put on the card.
Has anyone had this happen? I can't ask in the development forum. I also just got the Xoom back from a repair, and it was wiped to stock, then I did the 3.1 update when I got it back this morning. Is the fuse thing something they may have done to block rooting?
Have you tried reformat your sd card?

I reformatted my sd card, but I still can't get CWM to work and boot into recovery. Same message-
-->Android Recovery
Entering Android Recovery Mode
Reading ODM fuse: 1
And that's it....no options to load the root zip from an SD card or anything. Is there a way to push root without using the SD card? Or is that ODM fuse thing making it impossible?

Nothing at all to do with CWM.
OP: Try flashing the recovery again. To get into recovery, type adb reboot recovery, or use an app such as Quick Boot.
Edit: You can't use CWM to root, you need to do that first.

I have to root first? I'm not sure how to do it....can't find any other methods of rooting 3.1....everything on Google just points me to the same method, using the SD card that won't work cuz I can't boot into recovery. Ugh.
Hey jump hour PM me.
Hey guys,
I called JumpHour and we tried to troubleshoot this over the phone. We aren't able to get into the recovery because of error "reading odm fuse: 1". The OP is using Windows 7 64 BIT and has the SDK installed properly. He updated the sources and installed them so those are up to date. We also verified that USB debugging was enabled and that the correct files were in the tools section in the SDK folder.
We ran the commands:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot-recovery ........ (we typed it in correctly accoriding the thread)
fastboot reboot
and we get that error message.
This was all initiated while the Xoom was powered on. JumpHour stated that he had to send his Xoom back to Moto because his Xoom got messed up during the re-locking process when he unrooted a one click root and re-locked.
We then went ahead and downloaded the recovery image again and replace the one in the tools folder. We ran the commands again and we were getting the same error.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on with this process? Are we missing something? Is something broken?
Get the official images. I am assuming you have a USA 3g or wifi model.
Follow the steps to return the device to stock. But do not issue the reclock bootloader command. There is no need to relock.
From there power up the device and turn on USB debugging.
Then adb reboot into recovery. That should bring you to the stock recovery.
If all goes well from here just do what ever else you where intending to do in the first place.
You most likely can just flash the stock recovery but I would just do a full flash back to official images minus relocking bootloader.

Then let the ota update it to 3.1 and so on.

What's the status JumpHour? Did you get it to work. I told you it may have been due to the images. Hopefully that fixes your issue. Take care dude.

Hi, thanks for the response. I'm gonna try it now. I was up REALLY late last night, and just got up a little while ago. I'll definately respond after I try it out.
Finally, I did it!
Okay, I fixed it finally. Reloaded the stock images, and it's now rooted with SD support. Yay! Only took 2 days!
Thanks for all your help guys.
Can reflashing with original images fix recovery mode mount problem?
Does any window is flashing to the original images can restore access to the sdcard IF the recovery mode in the official recovery mode (not CWM) says that you cannot mount the sdcard?

No I did not succed because I don't have the driver for VID_0A5C&PID2132 and sw for 860 to flash it.
I tryed to edit original files from SD card and installed with error device not started but that driver did not worked, at connection PC I get error, phone it is not detected by sw you posted for ALCATEL OT-980 /OT-981 recovery here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1144773
Look like it is required alcatel service program for V860 that is able to flash the phone when connected at USB.

Sorry I can not seem to make the root, which file should I put in the sd? I put the file but when I go into recovery superuser.apk alcatel 1.0.0.0.1 that file does not work
help me please?
can you make a full backup (from recovery) and post here?
you have to put the file in the root of SD and do a "install ZIP from sdcard" (don't use install update.zip)
I did a backup a while ago and it seems to be in sd card in a folder called <<alcatel-onetouch(1)>> it contains 10 files with .img extension and one with .md5
it's a "clean vodafone" backup? (factory settings, no app removed, no root) ?
can I flash in my phone via recovery?
I have a clean backup from Vodafone Smart 2 phone if you need it, phone was newer turned on with SIM card inside.
The only problem it is lenght of the archive ~300Mb and because I don't have any account on any upload sites ( and don't want to have one ) you have to tell me exactly how to send it to you, I will not send by email, use PM for details.

Question about instaling CM10

Ive looked around the internet, and here, and cant really figure something out. Do I have to install CM10 from fastboot or can I just install the zip using TWRP?
I ask because I tried installing the stable version of CM10 using TWRP and when I reboot I just get the spinning Cyanogenmod logo for a long time. Nothing ever happens.
Am I doing something wrong?
Did you make a backup of your stock Rom? Log into that. Get flashimagegui and use on the cm10 zip then boot back into twrp and install the zip.
Or
Open the cm10 zip on your computer. Extract boot.img. put your phone in fastboot. Put the boot.img in your fastboot folder and type fastboot flash boot boot.img

Is flashimagegui an android app? Thats the only reference to it I can find.

Well, looks like something might have gone wrong and I fear I might be SOL. I used flashimagegui then returned to TWRP to install CM10. I still got the spinning log. I went to restore my backup and I cant boot back into my back up. During bootup a HTC logo comes up with some red text (like its going to go into revocery) and then the screen goes blank. Nothing happens after that. If I turn off the phone and power on again, the same thing happens. I can turn it off then and go through the steps to get back into recovery. I have no idea what do to now. Any recommendations?

what version of hboot is on your device? if it is one of the later ones (1.12+) then you'll need to flash the boot img seperately. If this is the case, (and it sounds like it , as the same thing happened to me and the symptoms where the same).
Extract it from the ROM that you are flashing (open the zip file and drag out the boot.img). Then while TWRP is running, connect the USB cable to your comp and fire up a terminal (you'll need ADB/fastboot set up and working - search google or XDA for how to do it in your operating system).
Once you have adb/fastboot working and TWRP running -> at a terminal (or command prompt on windows) use adb to push the rom onto the sdcard, and then reboot to bootloader and select fastboot.
run "fastboot flash boot boot.img" without the quotes. This should write the kernel image to the boot partition, and then you should be able to load TWRP to (wipe cache/dalvik and then) reflash cyanogen mod.
Good luck
If you can still boot into recovery, you're fine. Manually flash the CM10 boot.img with fastboot, do a full wipe in TWRP and then reinstall the CM10 zip + gapps. Should be good after that.
Thanks for the info, from both of you. Im going to try that right now.
Im trying to flash the boot.img file, but I keep getting an error. Any ideas?
Heres what I get
C:\adt-bundle-windows\sdk\platform-tools>fastboot flash boot boot.img

did you do a factory reset from the bootloader by any chance? this can corrupt the sdcard, and might cause this. only use the factory reset from recovery.
if you did, try this (http://forums.team-nocturnal.com/showthread.php/1050).

Check that it says fastboot usb on your phone. You might not be in fastboot mode.
Otherwise, maybe try a different USB port on your computer, I've had issues trying to get it to detect through a usb hub, so plug it directly inot the computer to rule this out.

I didnt use the factory reset option from the bootloader. Being that I didnt, should I still try the directions on the link you gave?
When I go into fastboot is start off just saying "fastboot". If I press the volume up or down button is changes to "fastboot usb". I didnt even think about trying a different usb port, I will see if that makes a difference.

can you get into TWRP? if you can, go to the mount menu and see if you can unmount and then remount the sdcard. If you can do this, then you have no need to do the team-nocturnal sdcard fix.
I was able to unmount and then remount the sdcard. Actually, when I went into Mount menu in TWRP to begin with it gave me the option to Mount, then unmount. Is that the same thing? Does that mean my sdcard is not mounted and should I mount it in TWRP?
I was finally able to flash the boot.img. I then went into TWRP to install CM10. It installed and now is back into the spinning logo. Im ready to give up on this. Any more suggestions?
Just a thought, should I be removing the boot.img from the CM10 zip Im trying to install?
No don't remove it. Did you wipe data/system before installing. And wipe cache/dalvik after? Also the first boot could take up to 5 minutes sometimes

No worries man, good luck with your One X, I hope the worst is behind you now.
If you are feeling confident, there is a method to downgrade your hboot so you don't need to stuff around flashing the boot image separately. This however does involve bricking and then de-bricking your device, and you'll need a linux computer to pull it off, so this isn't for everyone.

delete radio from SD card

I am stuck in the booth loop (CM10 unofficial). Problem is that I have a radio file on my sd card. So when I try to boot into recovery (power + vol down) It takes me to HBoot, ask me if I wanna apply update. I cant get into recovery from that point whether I choose yes or no. I have also tried rebooting with usb attached, still cant get into recovery.. Any idea how can I boot into recovery?
Thanks

found the solution for now.. put the sd card in a card reader and deleted the radio. Would be nice to know if there is any other way of doing it..
I had to do the same thing. Unfortunately I haven't found a way. After I flash a radio I just delete it from the SD card just in case.

Hello,
I'm in need of some help. My little brother attempted to root and flash the tablet I gave him but he went wrong somewhere and we're unsure about how to fix it. He said he followed the guides here well but failed when he attempted to install the zip file (Something about a red X on the Android figure) it wouldn't allow him to. Currently the tablet only boots up in ClockworkMod Recovery and we can't seem to get Odin to install older Firmware since it won't recognize the tablet since it only reboots into the recovery screen or copy the file onto the external Sd since the computer won't recognize it as well.

Did he make a backup in cwm first? Try booting into recovery and selecting reboot and then download mode (Odin mode.) If that works, you can flash to stock jelly bean through Odin.

Try to take the SD card out and load software with pc directly to sd card (use an adapter if don't have a micro sd card slot , purchased with a micro sd card if necessary as any will work)

To enter the bootloader use Power + Volume Up
Then Odin should detect your device
Have you tried "factory reset" in recovery yet? Also as @rap3rman said you have to boot into DL mode before Odin will work. Try looking in tthe development section at the sticky posts for the everything thread and find a guide to help you along. 2 min of searching and you can find all kinds of good stuff here.
