I'm about ready to dump my Samsung Moment and upgrade to a new phone. I know I want to stay with Android (my wife will be getting an iPhone 4S though).
Right now, I think the most likely choices are the Motorola Photon 4G, the HTC EVO 3D or the Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch (why is that name so long?).
I've been trying to decide which is the best, but I need more input! Also, is there an awesome Android phone on Sprint that I've missed?
And now I'm beginning to remember why I quit posting at XDA... thanks for all the help guys.

What was the point of these posts? I had already said that this was pointless as no one was helpful and I decided on a new phone already. And that's when you guys decide to make these posts?
Anyway, in case someone else is curious about the phones I was considering, I am very happy with my choice. The Epic 4G Touch is an awesome phone and I would highly recommend it. Especially with the mod support for it here.

I don't know, this thread pretty much shows that's not true. I'm sure some of the 120+ people who viewed the thread would have an opinion on at least one of the phones I listed.
The only vote it got was a troll (amusing though) and the only comments were useless, no offence.

Somehow I always forget that emotion is lost online. I was never 'getting mad' about this thread. I just found it sad that no one was interested in helping out.
And I was genuinely amused by the troll vote on the poll - that was well played.

Just curious, why are XDA people so uptight? If you don't like the thread, don't respond. It will get shuffled down to the bottom eventually. It's not that annoying if someone miss posts, or decides to create a new thread when one already exists... Unless you have no life I guess...
If you want to speed it up, send xcal some money... it's his magic that lets you run all the i9000 stuff in the first place.

Well that would also go against the AOSP thing hah. But i agree that would be awesome to have a good camera going in CM7. I also am hopefull for the things that this I9000 source can bring to CM7 and MIUI even if it cant help the camera (or maybe it can lol)

Why the attitude, the guy is just simply trying to avoid cluttering the forum. A simple "Ohh I didn't know, thanks for pointing out" should have been enough. Why are people so deffensive?. I missed the old WM days.

Well, we have to consider many things.
First and most importantly, Google just acquired Motorola's mobile phones division for $12.5 billion. That means that they are gonna be a major hardware manufacturer and the phones that they make will probably be able to handle Android better than the rest of the competition.
Also, don't forget that 2011 is the year of the rabbit. The rabbit is a swift little creature and it doesn't like to get caught.
If we compare cyanogemod to the rabbit, and then compare that to google's purchase of Moto's mobile division, then we can clearly see that there's no connection between any of these things.
So long story short, yes, we still don't know. We're all just sitting tight.

Very understandable. In the time I've been with this forum, I've seen a lot of that going on and it's ridiculous. Internet browsers should pop up a notice saying "Don't forget the search feature!" when somebody opens a new tab or window lol

CM7 nightlies will be here soon (hopefully) Meanwhile you can try nosense script and some mixed ROMS (meaning it has some things from Sense and some from AOSP)

Just wanted to say hello as a newb who's hoping to learn a lot viewing these forums as I already have just creepin around. Even though my mT4G (which my bro sold to me for $30) is somewhat limited on Straight Talk where I live it's the cheapest option I have for prepaid, but it's a HUGE step up from the Samsung Galaxy Prevail from Boost I've been putting up with for the past year.

Whether or not they are being like security guards, they are right about this going in general. As there is currently no actual development taking place, this is just a thread clogging the dev section. Until there is at least a preview build, this should be moved. Honest mistake by the op. Now, according to somebody in the HD2 forum, it would be difficult because, "the problem is going to be to hack the security and flash HSPL then magldr over that new bootloader." I've no clue what that means. :shrug:
