Small MMS fixed with out reflashing rom or loading any zip files! - HTC Sensation

I've been dreading the fact that my z710e recieves tiny mms..I know there's a zip file to correct it but I don't feel like reflashing my Rom to load it..so I started messing around with my settings in my messaging and wtf..I fixed it..I now recieve large mms..tested it with a friend I would always recieve small mms from and now its large. Here are the steps to do it.
1. Download Handcent from the market, its free and I think a better sms/mms app
2. Go in to settings in Handcent tap Custom Style then tap on Bubble Settings
3. On the box to the right scroll down to Other. It's the last option.
4. Check the TRANSPOSITION box. It seperates the conversation. Yours on the left of the screen and the other persons to the right of the screen.
That's it..once u check transposition go back and recieve your large mms!!
I'm running Revolution HD Rom 3.6.12 incase that matters.

Remember you can disable the notifications on your stock messaging app so you don't get 2 notifications. You can also set handcent to be the primary messaging in handcent settings. I like the pop up quick reply feature.

did this work for any of you guys?

No not for me :/ had to flash the rom and fix again.

handcent: see all sms received

I try for some day handcent sms,I like it a lot,but I have a problem:
Handcent don't display the old sms that I receivet. it display the last (i don't count the number) that i received.
How can I do for see all sms received?
someone can help me?
I believe if you go into settings in Handcent you should have a setting to show a button to display older messages. It is either in receive messages settings or customize, I forget which. Unfortunately, this may only work AFTER you have enabled it. Try going into the stock messaging app to see if you can find the message(s)
you are looking for. Also, there is a setting that is in both Handcent and the stock app how many messages to save. Try setting it to a higher number (500 instead of 200). Hope this helps.

[Q] SMS Notifications with Sense Messaging app

I've found that I seem to prefer the stock htc messaging app over any others so far. When I use sense-less roms, I use GO SMS. Right now I'm trying to stick to stock messaging app as to maintain the sense look and feel across my device.
Everything seems good in the stock messaging app except one thing, I want the screen to turn on when I receive an sms message. Just so I can have a visual cue if I cannot hear/feel my phone when it's on vibrate. I've looked through all the settings I can think of but cannot find anything.
Is there a way to just make the screen light up for say 30 seconds with a preview of the text with the stock message app?

With the stock messaging app, no. Not that I have found anyways. Now...you can use SMSPopup. This is almost all the features you would find within GoSMS, but uses the stock app. Basically, it just adds extra features through it's own program, but for use on the stock app. Check it out, you'll probably like it a lot.

Outgoing sms marked as unread!

When I send a text I usually press the home key after pressing send but I've noticed that when I go back to send another text the app shows an unread message to the person I sent the first message to! Im on the default messaging app but I don't use HTC Sense.
Anyone else noticed this? If not I'll try a factory reset.
same here, but only happens if u leave msg app too soon
I've noticed this too, it's pretty annoying. One of several bugs in the messaging app. I'm surprised how buggy it is, coming from the original Desire. Has anyone else noticed that the word prediction seems to be weaker than the Desire by a little bit?
I too have noticed this bug along with my reply to a message being shown above the one i'm replying to rather than below it if i don't wait at least 1 minute.
epicfail: u can fix it with downloading "SMS Time Fix" from market (free) and set it to "Adjust SMS to phone time"
Glad it's not just me. So is the answer to install a 3rd party text app? Can't wait to for s-off. I lost my Desire and it was replaced with a Desire S. The Desire S is OK but I really miss my Desire with Oxygen ROM

Sms not being sent

I installed Go SMS because i love the features especially the pop notification. Using the app, I've come to realize that text messages are not being sent. It just stays there and never sends. I looked at HTC's messaging app and the text also displays there are being sent but never sends.
Has anyone else had a problem sending texts with GoSMS?
I uninstalled Go SMS and using just the default to see if Go SMS was the one causing the issue
maybe I am the only one.
I've had this issue as well. Sometimes it will just say text not sent and never send.
Other times I will get an error saying text not sent but it did indeed send so I end up sending two of the same.
Best thing you can do with this is pull the SIM card and re-insert it. This problem, if existing, affects more than just people who use GoSMS as GoSMS is just a skinned texting surrogate. Sure, it sends and receives texts, but it does so using the frameworks of the main messaging app on your device. I've encountered this problem with the main messaging app, and I just pull the SIM or put it in airplane mode for a few seconds then take it off and it's fixed it every time.
Hope this helps.

Does the issue go away after doing that or does it come back? Should I turn off the phone when I remove the sim or should I do it while it is on?
If a text doesn't send for me I can still send one right after and that one sends fine.
so for the past 2 days i used HTC's messaging app and everything always sent. just now i redownloaded GO SMS and the second text i sent, it did not send so it must be something else

it's an uglier app but I did download it. So far so good
For what it's worth, gosms works fine for me other than the recipient used to get duplicate messages. I froze the stock messaging app and changed gosms settings to control text delivery and it's been all good so far. It's not an ics compatibility issue, it's sense. Hope that helps

Can you tell me how to set up GoSMS to control the delivery of texts?

I will keep this in mind. I haven't rooted my phone so I can't freeze the message app.

So i have found out what is causing my text not to send. If I reply to a text using the pop notification while I am in another app like Google Chrome or draw something, the text does not send. When I go to go sms, I can see the green arrow showing that it is sending but it never does. The only times I can successfully 100% of the time send a text from the pop up notification is if I am on the home screen instead of within another app. Can anyone else test this for me to see if I am the only one with this issue?

I had the exact same problem with duplicate messages. the freeze worked for me. i had no more issues with messages being sent but i no longer have root access so i can't confirm if that would have changed over time. I have no issues right now.

So even if you reply from the pop up notification while within another app, your text message sends?
Since there is no way to root the AT&T HOX without it being discovered by htc/at&t, I haven't rooted and therefore can't freeze the messaging app

Not sure if you have solved your problem yet, but ChompSMS has worked well for me since the latest update to cater to some of HTC One X's quirks.

I had completely forgotten about chomp. Thanks for reminding me. I started using it and while I still get messages not sending if I reply to a text from the pop up notification, it doesn't do it nearly as much as go sms. With go sms, the message not sending would happen one after another but not with chomp. And even though I don't like the sound, I've set chomp to make a sound after a successful sent message so at least I can tell if my message has sent without having to open the app.
Thanks again for mentioning chomp

I'm having the same issue with texts not sending from the pop up window. It doesn't happen all the time but enough that it's annoying and I always go to the app to make sure it sent, which kind of defeats the purpose of the pop up. I haven't noticed whether it was when I'm in another app or not. However, it's not that it just doesn't send, it's totally lost. There will be no record of it. Other times messages seem to just get stuck sending and I have to click edit and resend in order to get them to go through.
GO SMS has also become very laggy. I can't really type when it's sending or receiving a message. If I'm typing during this time, it's delayed in showing what I've typed and auto-correct and word suggestion don't work. Also, when I leave a conversation and go back to the main screen, it takes several seconds to update the threads. Long enough that I can click on one but then it takes me to the wrong one because it's updated. I thought maybe I just have too many messages. I've set it to limit messages to 700 per thread. Anyone else experiencing these issues? I think I'll try Chomp again until these issues are fixed.

[Q] Go SMS Pro Notification Not Working Properly

I've been having this issue for a while now, but for some reason i dont get notifications from Go SMS Pro unless i have the Stock Messaging App's notification on.
I used to keep just the stock messaging apps notification on except i dont receive the notification for a text until like 10 minutes after i get the text unless i manually turn my screen on. Thats the only way.
I'm on TeamPkMn's Sense 4.0 ROM btw if that helps.
Same problem here...
What happens with me is, I send a text, but it doesn't really get sent. It just shows the arrow, signalling that it's being sent but it never does. I have to delete the text and then again write a new one and send it. Then it works fine.

You should keep "Delivery Reports" on to see if it gets sent to the SMS Center at least. If it doesnt, then you know to send it again?
