STOP!
Please read everything UNHURRIEDLY, before you apply for this project.
take your time, if you are not sure, the project will not start immediately, nor end up soon
People!
I am calling you to serious develop with me a new ROM for realistic daily purposes on our beloved Galxy Fit.
I am experienced in many things, according to computer usage since about 30 years and nearly all new Media.
Also I provide leading-abilities, which means -not just as it will be a public domain project- to administrate, not to command.
System specific, I for myself feature the following abilities:
Administration; mean I am able to organize a project
Graphical abilities for eg Theming
Sound programming, by meaning I could produce new Ring- and Notificationtones, Bootsounds; short everything which "sounds"
some minor debugging and arrrangement of ROMs
Also I will provide a temporary forum, as well as a Dropbox-Account to interchange data, just for this project.
This is not meant to exclude the others or to leave XDA, but for better overview about the project.
These are the basical vertexes of the project:
BASEBAND XXKPP
no OC
ext4
minimalistic app-amount
new UIs (instead of recoloured/resized)
fast and useful standalone launcher
Of course this is just a rough list only to see where it will lead to and by writing daily purpose.
I don´t mean the phone to be a paddle or ready for showroom.
No!
Nothing extreme about it, but the size of ROM, and a cool design for maximum stability.
So I politely request you, to ask yourself the following questions:
- Did you really read all this above?
- Are you able to work in team and accept criticism?
- Do you have:
endurance? which means you are not "just" avid for the first moment.
about 10 hours free time per week (just approximation, ther is no need to hurry)
ability to read and write english firmly, short it will be necessary, that we understand each other
... then please apply under [email protected] with subject: DAILYROM and tell me your abilities.
I do not need suggestions for improvement at this point
This can be all done within the group
I read all of it and I'd happy be happy to help in any way I can

We use marcellusbe's private server to develop and build CM9.
It helps a lot and improve the development speed. But unfortunately, it has a cost.
So, donations are greatly appreciated. We decided to give all donations to marcellusbe as he rents the server.

But there is already a thread named [project] ICS port or something like that and a group of devs are contributing. You should join with them and delete this thread. It saves many different people doing the same thing and the more devs the merrier.

Finally, I can post in dev section ^^
The point of trying to port cm9 is that it's brand new, and way more fun to start from scratch than catching up on a well advanced project.
Besides, developpers are once again free to choose which project to work on, and if people want so much cm7 to be completed, they still can set up a dev environnement, and get to work !

Not all people have such knowledge. Anyway it's their choice. I'm just saying it will probably take already 6 moths to complete this whereas it will only take 2 to 3 moths max finishing cyanogenmod 7 if everyone works together.

so watever u have to say use this thread n keep the development thread clean..............so that the devs can build it easily.....
thanx for reading n understanding !!!!! we hope ur cooperation!!!!!
Hello Sachin ,
If you can please answer the following questions then it would be very helpful
1) Why is it very Difficult to develop a cyanogen mod or Miui (How do the devs go about the process) ?
2) Can you give some details about porting roms (I know dsixda's Kitchen has an option of porting and i does a very basic porting) ? once its ported using dsixda's Kitchen which tool is used for debugging for the errors which follow ?
3) Is there any other method of porting Rom's which is better ?

answer 1: there no proper source files for cm7 n miui thats y its very difficult ro make a stable version of em n the files we have r broken n even no documentatiion for them that's its difficult!!!! secondly lack of developers is also a main reason if team samsung wud have taken the work on their hands we wud have gotten cm7/miui by now....but unfortunately our devices are not so popular!!!!
2: check this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1168916
you can use dsidia itself it has a option for checkin errors n for the bugs u have to corect them urslf by using brain like if some procees giving error replace its files with another rom's file!!!! thats wat i know if there is sumthing more i cant tell u as i dont know abt it
3: yes there is see this http://android.modaco.com/topic/348695-guide-how-to-port-a-rom/ and this http://www.freeyourandroid.com/guide/porting-android
n lastly thanku for using this thread n not bugging the development thread!!!

I just use the facebook app from market to sync all contacts ,have you tried it ??
And il flash the rom when i reach home on wed then il maybe be of more help
I tested it for a couple of hours. And was better than I expected, the phone was working reallly fast and smooth.
The most annoying bug/issue was that my Wifi wasn't working well, I couldn't find my Network.
I'll read about news, this'll be one of the best roms.
There is a quick and dirty fix for that. Just add a network manually, then scan. it works fine that way.
Indeed, ICS is very stable and fast on i9003, the biggest issue is probably Camera/Video.
Also, just as with CM7, no forms of tethering work. I use easytether.
how to enable the soft keys ?

It's so nice to see how this great ROM that is Cyanogen is developing, when i first get my I9003 i though there was little modding for this smartphone, thanks to Zeus it isn't like that!
I come from a Defy and this is my first Samsung.
I would like to know if anybody knows how often are nighties or kangs released or where i can find 'em
why there is no /system/usr/idc/mxt224_ts_input.idc in cm9?
and
does deleting 00 android from /system/lib/egl/egl.cfg and keeping it to 0 1 POWERVR_SGX530_125 improve graphic performance?
Weird problem.. unable to download anything from either market or stock browser.. the downloading bar appears but nothing gets downloaded.. surfing is ok.. just no downloads.. there is free space in sd card..
Problem on wifi and 2g as well as 3g internet..
Downloads were fine the last time i installed cm9 for testing..

You're telling me the keyboard isn't working ??
well I have some questions , while setting it up , how many languages does it state ? many or just a couple ??
OFF TOPIC
I guess I'll never understand....
Why do iphone users try to port android to their iphones?
Why do android users try to copy the look and feel of iOS to their devices?
Why not simply buying this or that?
However, no need to discuss about, no need to start a flame war...just a thought...
Good luck with your ROM and work, seaskyways !

Hello again!
I present to you Oxygen ROM 3.0.0 (ICS) for LG Optimus One.
Oxygen ROM is a highly optimized AOSP rom with only a few added features. I also intend to keep it that way. There will be no added features unless the good people from Oxygen want to add them. The rom is like this for a reason. So requests like "can you add theme manager?", "can it make me coffee?" will be ignored.
As usual, there is no Theme Manager and FM Radio so don't even bother asking.
The rom is for new baseband only!
How to use:
The rom includes an OTA (Over The Air) Update app. This means that you will get a new update whenever it is released and you don't need to download it manually from the download source. You will receive a notification on your phone and you can download the rom and flash it right away. (Requires: internet connection, Google Account for push notifications and custom recovery [I've tested ClockworkMod but others should work as well])
If you flash the rom from the OTA app then (at least with ClockworkMod) it might take a bit more time and it might look frozen. Just give it a bit of time and it will finish and reboot in your new fresh version of the rom.
I've had some issues with CWM 5.0.2.0. My advice is to update your recovery to 5.0.2.7 (new bb)
You can find the download link, issues and change log in the blog: http://oxygen-for-p500.blogspot.com
If you want to submit issues please do so on the Google Code Project Page. Remember to add the label: "Version-ICS" at the bottom of the issue. It should be added by default but in case you don't see it, add it.
Credits:
Oxygen Team for the awesome rom
CyanogenMod Team for all the patches for low end devices for ICS
Code Aurora Forum also for patches and kernel for P500
Team M.A.C. for their sources. They should get all the credit for doing the hard work!
OTA app courtesy of OTA Update Center
Kernel courtesy of LGICS
And last but not least: YOU! Thank you for encouraging me and pushing me to continue development on the ROM. Also thank you for the donations that keep the project alive. Nothing could have been done without you, the user.
You can find the sources on my Github.
Enjoy responsibly!
Oh Yeah! Downloading now!
thanks popdog...would you mind make a discussion thread in general section for the people who have noob questions like me?
Well bugs are submitted on the google code page, other details are on the blog, so just go ahead and ask your questions here. I don't think there's need for a discussion thread.
thanks man...my sd card is not partitioned yet...should i partition it before flashing your rom? cause you said it has a2sd script
and also does this rom have all the languages that are present in cm7?
Amazing!
@omidreza
No you don't need to
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda
If you want to use a2sd (which i recommend due to the small internal storage) then you have to partition the sd card. Otherwise you don't.
Also there are a lot of languages in the rom (don't know how many are in CM) but unfortunately I had to remove dictionaries from the keyboard. So many system languages, but only english dictionary.

cool rom, like the other 100 just without any mods
can you say something about the ROM please?
what are your aims in this rom?
what makes it different / better / worse than all the other roms?
fantastic. "NEXUS UI"..is this new? all cm9/AOSP stock are nexusUI...u added only UI sounds and tw memo app, right?
this isn't spam, or flame, i don't want create this but I think that is not a "national forum" on all can post own rom that have two apps over original cyanogenmod

Everybody starts small. Give him time to learn and provide useful Feedback. Its a Forum and everybody can post his work if he wants. Stop freaking out :silly:
I think it's not a bad Idea to replicate the Nexus Rom and dont let the other User discourage you
And btw @Rom_Tester: Your signature is really annoyning.

Hey Rom-Tester, guess what, I'm actually building a custom rom also based on aosp but I used the icons and some themes from remics job.Anyways I'm gonna make it slim. I'm still theming my phone till its fully themed.
Edit: oh and jack or what's your name, if you want to theme, just use ninjamorph. Extract your framework and extract a theme that you like then try to bind your selected theme into your framework.(p.s just take some things from Res drawable-hdpi)
Thanks for the hint. I'm gonna try it

hey, please dont say that im trying to 'talk small' or that i try to discourage jack94. I'm simply asking for some info prior to installing and testing the rom on my own beloved phone, I dont flash everything there is out there, must be some respect in the game...
I am very happy to see inspirations ! ! !
You have given some info/explanation of what I should be looking for after your rom already a few posts ago, so that's ok for me, i hope that you include and guide people properly in the first post (as it is in other threads).
Good luck and remember, haters gonna hate (i dont want to say who exactly though)!
RC1 Relased.
Enjoy
