Everything has been fine with my Xoom since day one. Now a week after my OTA ICS update things are getting funny. For some reason my Xoom cant locate all my picture albums anymore. I had about 12 albums of pics and now their is only 2 albums present. Also the two albums that are being shown seems to be the only two photo albums i have on my SD. So all albums saved directly on XOOM is not being recognized. Can someone please let me know if they had a similar problem or know a fix for this?
Also I have just noticed that my XOOM deleted all picture files from its hard drive. Every picture from every folder that was on my XOOM is now GONE!!! Also every video is now gone as well!! What happen? Someone please let me know if you can help. Like my signature says I have stock everything, no mods no nothing. I got the ICS update over the air. Everything has been working fine until this morning when i woke up.
Did you lose only pictures and videos? Other data are still there?
However I think the best thing would be to backup your data and perform a factory reset.

yes only pictures and videos was lost. Do you think the harddrive is currupted.

when i first start my tab, after a minute it just crashes...screen goes blank. I do a reset and from there on its fine. Anyone else?

I would suggest reflashing the rom of your choice, w/wipe data & cache.
It may be you have a corrupt installation.

I'm running VEGAn beta 5.11 at the moment. For the last week or so I kept getting Google Framework Services errors and my Market was whacked out (kept asking me to re-accept the terms as if I was setting it up new) and also apps both purchased through the Market previously or apps I got from other sources sideloaded wouldn't install anymore.
So, after dealing with this for like I said about a week I booted into recovery via ClockworkMod and wiped my data, wiped my cache, wiped my delvic cache, and then reflashed VEGAn beta 5.1 then rebooted into recovery again and installed the VEGAn 5.11 update. Now my gTab is running like a champ. Most everything shows up in the Market (with the exception of QuickOffice which I purchased before). I was able to sideload my copy of QuickOffice on my gTab and now it is as solid as I can expect it to be.
While the sympthoms my gTab displayed isn't what you're reporting but perhaps a reflash will do your gTab good.
is it me or do most of these roms end up needing to be reflashed after a while? My tab was rock solid up until the last week or so.
Had a strange one as well last night
I tried viewing photos from a Samsung digital camera on my Gtab running vegan 5.1.1 and at first it was working great. It then locked up on me in my gallery, so I rebooted. Upon reboot I went back into the gallery and noticed the amount of photos was going down. I shut it down and pulled the sd card - all photos were wiped!! Luckily I have Pandora Recovery & an micro SD card reader, was able to recover about 98% of the photos.
No clue what happened!!!
add an empty file named ".nomedia" to any directory on the external sdcard. Gallery wont see them but they wont get erased either
Redid it last night. Running great now. I think it all started when my wife ran the battery dead a week or so ago?
OK, finally got a problem I couldn't fix with searching.... My Feeds & Updates widget has never been great about updating on its own but now it won't pull the pictures down for the contacts or their posts. I still have them if I go into contacts and then to activities. But liked being able to pull up pics and such without using the browser. I can still refresh F&U manually and it pulls the new posts. I have tried stopping the SNS pic service, clearing both facebook and F&U data, pulling the battery after shut down. Is there a file somewhere I can delete and let it rebuild it to get this back? It really isn't the end of the world but I hate it not working right. My wife's works fine. Hers is newer though. Any help would be great. Oh and mine is stock 2.2, voodoo lagfix, rooted, only removed the bloatware. F&U was working fine after all this had been done for several weeks. This place has been a huge help, everything I have done I've been able to do without having to ask any questions but this one has me stumped.
well it seems the problem took care of itself. it's working now like it should. for now anyway.
Whenever I open the app, I can't scroll through the list of artist or albums without every album cover flashing on and off. It's almost impossible to find a song now (I could go to a list of songs, but there are 14,000 of them to scoll through).
I've re-installed the app a couple of times and it works for a while, but then it flashes on and off again. Anyone had this problem and fixed it?
Atleast i am not alone... i posted this weeks ago.
I too have about 10k of music on Gmusic... it seems it is constantly loading up the album covers. flashing on and off.
The only fix i have which is not a fix is if i am really inpatient needing music right away i have to go to settings/app/ g music and clear data. but you still have to wait a few mins for everything to load back up
Or recently when i turn it on and if it is flashing ( i am assuming because i always turn off wifi ) it must have to reload everytning- I go to tune in radio and play a song and usually after one song i go back to gmusic and everything is loaded and flashing has stopped.
I have not heard of any permanent fixes. I have even tried to uninstall and reinstall gmusic--doesnt work.
Patience is my only work around right now.....

Thanks for the "fixes." Does clearing all the data delete the music on my SD card? I've been reluctant to try it b/c it seems that it would. I'll try the Tune-in Radio fix.

no it wont wipe your sd. After you do it you will need to go back into gmusic setting and connect your gmail account to pull music from.
[UPDATE] My phone crashed and then got stuck in a boot loop, so I had to reset it. I would still like input from anyone concerning the below, because whatever caused the internal storage problem directly contributed to the boot loop.
I have seen several other posts about this issue for several different phones, all from April, but it hasn't been resolved in any other forum, so I thought I would start here. My issue just started today. I have a Droid X that is running a CM7 nightly with a couple of zeppelinrox scripts. I have had CM7 installed since January, so I believe it does not relate to CM7 or any other mods I am running. I was thinking that it must be a virus. What happened (and continues to happen) is this:
- My phone played the message tone, and I got a notification saying that my phone storage was almost full and that I needed to do something about it. I thought that this was very odd, since I have 6.2 gigs of internal storage, and I don't have that many apps installed, and I have all of my pictures and other media on my SD Card.
- I then got a notification that my text message inbox was full, so an incoming text message was rejected. I get this notification every couple of minutes or so.
- I deleted several of my largest apps on my phone, which should have freed up about 30mb. It showed that I had 12mb free, which quickly shrank to 5mb, then 100kb, than 0.0kb, as if something was actively filling it up.
- I deleted about 700 text messages, and still got the same error as before.
What should I do???
Well, you won't lose anything trying to use an antivirus app.
Is there a way I can install it from my computer to my phone's SD card? I have been attempting to download an AV app, but Google Play force closes itself whenever I try to do this. Very frustrating!
You could try re-installing the whole rom.
Well you can download an APK (if exists) of a FREE antivirus and install it on your phone from the SD Card.
If it's a virus i don't think that it's stored on the sdcard, it could be there but the system is infected anyway.

i have a droid x 2 global with cm7, I have the same problem . everything has been good but as of two days ago i started getting storage full and cant receive text warnings . i have like 6gb internal storage with very few apps installed and if i delete them and nothing really happens . i have pulled my hair out with this one. I did a fresh wipe "data and factory" and reinstalled c7 with an updated version . it all was good until 12 hours later bam same messages. did another wipe/reinstall when prompted to enter google account and stuff I deselected the box "allow google to restore phone" or something like that and haven't installed any apps. so far so good. i'm going to slowly install the apps i had and try to figure out what is going on. please let me know if you find a solution. the weird thin is it just started happening . i though virus but wtf ,
quigley, have you visited any websites on your phone that you don't normally go to? What internet browser app are you using? I am using Dolphin Mini, and I was researching some stuff with Google, and visited many sites I don't normally go to, so maybe a virus came from there.
Since my reset last night, I have yet to experience any problems. Thankfully, I had made a backup of all my apps and settings with Titanium Backup a week or so ago, and all my media was stored on my SD Card, so I didn't lose much. I never use the Google backup. And check this out:
Total App Usage: 289mb. Free: 6.3gb.
And this is the same set up I had right before the "event!" It must have been a virus. I see no other reason for 6 gigs to get that completely filled up in minutes. It can't have been CM7, because I haven't updated it in months! I wish someone could shed some light on this.

You can install it via the Web Market.

I have been using stock CM7 browser, and i don't browse much usually just google news, "never porn or torrent sites " i have a desktop for that fun. so i really don't think it was a virus from browsing . i haven't had any trouble since my second wipe and not using google restore during setup. i'm still slowly adding my usual apps. we will see what happens , P.S also when this happened i was unable to move stuff onto sd card , it showed full also. I really don't think it was a virus but it sure seems that way.
I'm having this problem on my Titan II but I saw this was a question asked in the HD7 forums a year ago and no one answered, so I figured this may be a general bug.
I was on vacation, taking a lot of pictures, when suddenly, any new pictures taken were not visible in the camera roll. I figured out that the pictures were still being saved to the device because I saw my storage space still going down so I kept taking pictures in hopes that I'll still be able to retrieve them.
I finally got home today and when I synced with Zune, all of those pics that are not visible in the camera roll were retrievable and synced back to my collection on my laptop. The weird thing is, NOW when I take a picture, it's being saved to and is visible in the camera roll. This is after performing a "Reset Camera" in the settings and a regular phone reset. Also, when I try to send the pics BACK to my phone, it doesn't sync because Zune says they already exist in my camera roll.
Has anyone else experienced this and how can make those pics visible in my camera roll???
Nobody's had this problem at all?
My workaround was to upload the missing pics to my SkyDrive and view from there, but it'd still be nice to have them in my camera roll.
