hey verti and x, I have seen reports that the param.ifs mod for the i9000 works on the infuse. I was thinking it would be cool to have some splash screens to use with that. also the Samsung screen that is compiled into the kernel can be replaced if you compile a kernel from sources. if you guys can get some 480x800 artwork together I think we could customize the startup process a bit. in a rom or infuse oriented way.

yeah. I was far from offended. well its been brought up before but the param.ifs mod adds a splash screen since the infuse either has two identical screens or has an all black one in param.ifs, the Samsung logo is in the kernel and can't be changed after the kernel is compiled. I was thinking it wouldn't be too hard to use an existing kernel since the sources are on git hub and make a rom orriented version as long as the art was good and the dev gave his blessing. the reason bedwa didn't change it( I think it was him who talked about it) was the Samsung logo isn't really bad and it was hard to decide on something universal that was tasteful. it didn't seem like as big a priority as on the captivate where the i9000 splash screen was a bit out of place on the ported kernels. also there was a big lack of themers back then.
I seem to have been seriously slacking here. Any requests?

The wallpaper is effing awesome, but it does make it difficult to view your thread at work I think it's a fair trade.. heh
I like the originality of the dock. Have you done any themeing for Sense? I'm guessing you built the screen shot in layers, if so you should definitely check out the images Sense uses just to be aware of their dimensions. You might be unpleasantly surprised by some of their inconsistencies and could creat a huge headache for yourself if you get things all sorted out then realize the restrictions you will encounter based on image sizes/layout/etc..
Good start though. The dock is slick, at least from what I noticed for the few seconds I was able to tear my eyes away from that amazing...uh... notification bar

In fact I have not, this is going to be my first project, I thought it would be fun to do in my spare time

Last night was an interesting night for me. With the help of jt1134, of course, I was able to get a semi-working build of AOSP to load and boot up on the Mesmerize. For those of you who have not seen this, it is pretty neat stuff. This means NO TOUCHWIZ on the phone at all. Pure google goodness! What this also means right now, is a lot of work for the people involved. These guys have been really going at it lately and it is slowly paying off.
I'd like to pay credit to these guys for their work so far and all their work in the future, as I'm hope they won't be stopping any time soon.

This required a modified kernel to be able to load and boot. Although I have built several kernels using jt's github source, this is the first time I have had to modify content and it gave me insight into some of what is going on in the kernel. It's definitely more than I had ever thought before.

I know you are all super excited about the updates, but if you look at the build number in the picture, it says 2.1-update1 ECLAIR.
jt has been working on this for 3 months. I just got the Mes to load up last night. Let's see how things go and maybe we'll start an Alpha ROM thread in the development section.

Yeah, there's a pretty good list of wallpapers in it. These guys are really putting some work in to making a top notch product. If we can get a few more kinks out of the Mesmerize version, I'll release an Alpha.

Looks like it's on the side burner for now. The good news is, the reason that it's been put on the side burner is that it seems possible that a 2.3 AOSP build may fix some of the problems that are happening in the 2.2 build. I don't have many of the details, but they've got the first steps working. As soon as there is a build that I can start to work with, I will post pics.

The only things you'll likely have some issues with is the gold card hiccups or hack kit errors at least from my end that was the case but keep at it because once its done no more worries ever.

Alright, My wife will not come off her iphone and this may be one way to do it. She would be running CM7 so it needs to be for desire based roms, i think. I dont have any pictures or anything. But circle battery with % pink somewhere, wait its got to be pink anywhere and everywhere. Different shades of pink on black. Get the idea, pink and black? LOL I unfortunately will have to install this on my phone so she can see it. But that ok. She also loves the pink diagonal burberry pattern.

I am currently using ADW skinned with yOrk's Pink ADW theme and I love it but I really miss some of the Sense features it lacks. It's great that I can swith back & forth between the two though. I would LOVE to see a pink & black HTC skin!! There is a devolper from ppcgeeks, Sprintgirl who has an awesome theme for EVO. It would be amazing if someone could create a compatible version for the Inspire! I have attached a picture of Sprintgirl's theme (1st attachment) as well as the ADW theme I am currently using (2nd & 3rd attachments) along with Bobclock3D (awesome customizable clock widget). Thanks again for taking an interest in what women want!

So I decided I'd do just a test task bar real quick to make sure my normal method works on the Inspire as well. And it does...
Here is a quick snapshot of the taskbar itself. Nothing else has been done yet, this is just a "sneak peek" snapshot... Once I get quite a bit done, I'll post a link to a Picasa album so you all can watch the progress. ;-)

i agree- pink.pink.pink would make me happy. i came from hd2 where i had it grrrled out- especially with lunie's awesome theme. i also dig purple. right now- i am into zebra prints either pink or purple. thank you for giving attention to us ladies. very nice...

I currently own a Captivate, but I am planning on getting the Inspire in the next few weeks.
I saw a video of the new Sense, and it is simply unbelievable!!!
So I definitely wanna give it a try!!
There are a couple of themes in the Captivate and I9000 forums that are gorgeous!!! Both come in different colors.
Here's the link for generation X. I flashed the pink one and it is sooo pretty!! It is a hot pink theme, but it is very subtle.

I like those themes quite a bit actually! ...Ladies, sorry I haven't updated this in a bit. A lot has been going on, and I got halfway through the theme and decided to scrap it.
I AM STILL WORKING ON A THEME FOR THE LADIES
I scraped it because I wasn't paying attention to what I was doing, and the colors began to not match. The shades of pink were clashing, and not in a good way.
Sooo..... I am starting over on this. I have learned quite a bit more about theming. And have learned what I can and can't do... So, with that said.. Please be patient with me.

Who wants to make us a Team Acid logo? Now that we're using the Aroma installer on more ROMs I figured we should have a logo or splash screen. Not being too picky here, just something of moderately high resolution so we can scale it down to fit our needs.
Seeing that I'm not too artistically inclined and since Raver's been working on other projects (he actually knows how to use Photoshop/Gimp) I'm asking for people to submit their artwork here! It'd be greatly appreciated.
Try to stick with the theme "Acid" (get it? Theme Acid? No? Haha? Okay, I give up).

We have made our choice.
After much thought, the other members of Team Acid and I have decided that we're going with theexel's green themed splash screen.
It's clean, simple and will go well on our the ROMs and installers.

Make this 2 requests. Any way you can make several versions of this to animate, maybe make some of the text or the biohazard triangle radiate a glow? We can have an animated boot splash and bootanimation for ROMs that way. Thanks again! (Keep them in PNG format)

Maybe you guys should do a competition and let people vote through a poll. How about that? Winner gets a taste of the next thing you guys are working on first!

competition seems like a great idea. Letting the community vote on THEIR logo not so much. If I had any artistic talent at all I'd help. Do have an idea that I'm sure others have as well. Team ACID needs a really psycodelic theme. Thanks guys and best of luck getting that theme perfect for you

A competition and voting isnt all bad.
People could help narrow it down. Ultimately the team has final say.

thanks for pointing out the mistake. showed up fine on the xda app though so didn't think anything of it. now on the being used by many others, i don't see how. the biohazard symbol maybe, but not the image as a whole. my submission was totally unique where i actually used layering and transparencies with the android logo and biohazard symbol and then used my own glowing effect settings through layering properties to get the desired effect. i could go into details on the actual settings, but don't want to ruin this thread. i am glad you do like this. actually made a series of these to try and make a bootanimation, but for some reason it don't work. maybe someone could help me out with it and see why it won't work. anyway, glad you guys like.
