[Q] Go Launcher Ex - Samsung Infuse 4G

Ok, I feel real stupid with this, but I never had this happen, and I need to know how to fix it. I've been playing with Go Locker and Go launcher themes, and somehow I locked my screens! When I long press the screen, I get a "Screen Locked" message in the status bar.
How do I unlock it?
I've been trying to find it, and I know it's probably something stupid or easy. Hard to believe I've been on Android for nearly 2 years, and the easy **** always gets me.

I use go launcher and I briefly looked at the settings and nothing stood out as to the cause. One thing you could try is, if go launcher is set to default, go into settings > apps and clear defaults for go launcher. Or, uninstall and reinstall.

I am almost certain that a cold boot will load your default screen lock if you have one...then you can adjust your Go Locker settings.
Hope this helps

Well, luckily I had a recent backup of Go Launcher and ran it, and it fixed it, but I still can't figure how it locked it.
Thanks for the responses!

on your home screen, hit the menu button, then on the popup menu, hit more, and it should then be on the popup menu to toggle locked homescreens or unlocked

Remove pressing MENU after standby.

Wanted to know if anyone has found the source to do this yet the guy who made lock2.0 He has done it.http://groups.google.com/group/lock2/browse_thread/thread/13c69be014e196ac
Have you tried rebooting after installing? Other users are reporting success after doing that.
Donate version only has the menu screen removed. Works great on my phone. Worth the donation. At least until A_C starts developing for android.

it works, donated version thought. and now has a password feature, its beta right now..
Maybe I'm a little confused here, but here goes.
I've tried downloading the free version just to see how it works, but I have NO idea where the heck to get different skins for this app?
Am I just a bit "slow?"

FWIW, how would you have it so that you don't press menu in order to get the swipe screen up? You would need to have the screen on at all times.
The difference between the paid/free versions are a nag screen. That's it.

Can't find it myself. There's talks of a "Skin Manager" - but I can't find it.
I should note that the Free version removes the menu as well now. He's doing the free versions 1-update behind the donate version. I didn't need to reboot, it worked instantly.

Power button. Iirc (don't feel like changing it back). Menu or power take you to the locked screen, this just swaps that screen for a slide-to-unlock.

Right, but this was a question for aad4321. Either the free or paid versions allow you to press any key to get to the swipe screen.
So I managed to get the different zip files with the backgrounds and whatnot onto my SD card and still no love when I attempt to change the theme or battery logo.
It says that it was successfully changed, then nothing happens. i've tried rebooting since then with no success either.
I was really looking forward to this type of app, I just don't dig the skull screen and grey swipe bar.
Lock 2.0 is a neat idea, but currently pointless graphical fluff as you can bypass the slide to unlock simply by hitting the home key. So pressing any button on the phone (home, send, end, back, or menu), pressing menu, and pressing home unlocks the phone.
If you were to take out the G1 default "press menu to unlock" screen, then pressing home twice would unlock the phone even with lock 2.0 installed.
Not to mention the fact that right now, the lock 2.0 home screen doesn't show signal (or even whether you have phone service at all), and doesn't show notifications. So I'd still want the option of bringing up the default G1 "press menu to unlock screen" until that's remedied by Lock 2.0

Mine shows the signal (upper corner) and currently activated devices (cell location / etc).
My procedure for unlock is:
Power Button to turn screen on > Slide to Unlock
Now mind you, I could very easily do Menu > Menu with the default G1. But I like to turn my phone on to see the time. The fact the default G1 doesn't allow for a background (a feature that I thought they definately should have included) on the lock screen kinda gives this program a boost for usage.
As far as I know, that is the same procedure the iPhone has (you press the one circle button at the bottom).
Seems like you guys want the screen itself to turn on to the Slide-to-Unlock screen by the sense of touch ..?

Those buttons don't have that same feature for me (I'm using the free version). The most I get when pressing a button from the lock screen is a popup that says "Free Version". I have to slide to get to the home screen, or hit Menu > Home Screen.
hmmm.. that does not happens to me.. i just tried pressing home twice and it does not unlock.. im using the donated version maybe happens with the free? :/
Looks good, but definitely has a lot of room for improvement. The menu still comes up for me, so I have to press menu, then do the slide to get out. I don't need an extra keyguard screen... :/
*Edit: The version on the market is newer than that on the site, I just tried and the market one fixes this problem.
HOWEVER, there is one other problem keeping me from installing it permanently-- the screen doesn't stay off, it turns itself back on by flashing the "Free version" notification -.-
Once I get a new credit card I'll try the donation version, pretty sure that will fix the problem since it will not be "free".
With the latest version there is an option for a password lock. You have to enter the password to access the menu too. Right now the password is 1234 only for now but once it gets updated it could lock your phone safer than the normal android lock.

Close current running app and go to home menu

Hi all,
I am looking for the following function:
when pressing the home button, close current app and go to the home screen. When pressing long on the home button, go to the home screen (not closing the app in front)
Any ideas/suggestions?
Tnx
oh the xphrone style home button i see
yes it would be great and I want something like this too.
hopefully some devs can do this but it wont be easy since it is not easy tho replace the home button to another shortcut as it directly hits the system file without detouring. (correct me if im wrong, or this looks confusing cause im half asleep)
cheers

Well, I don't know the xphrone, but it is something like the iPhone that I mean. The reason is that I open a lot of apps, and always go to the home screen. This means that a lot of apps are open?
So this needs a continuously checking of tasks running. So if you could close the app while going home, this should not be any worries.
I know a lot of people will now say, that the multitasking is gone this way, but if you want an app to stay open, you can still do it by long pressing the home button

[Q] How to properly quit apps?

Hello everyone,
I bought a HOX yesterday and broke up with my iPhone. Two words: awesome phone.
Anyway, I am a little confused about how the multitasking works. For example if I am done with an app, say the default radio app, how to a quit it properly? So it doesn't hog ram. Though I also read something here on the forums that you shouldn't quit apps since it doesn't matter if they are running or not to the ram.
So I thought, well okay I'll stop caring about that. Then I tested the Navigation app, set it to navigate to nearest BK and then quit it (using the "home" btn). 3 minutes later I hear from my pocket "Turn left". wtf?
So yeah, when I unlocked the hox I saw the GPS icon up to the left, meaning that it was still running. I can't find a quit option?
A little side question too:
Is there any app I really really should download now because it will make my phone so much better/longer battery life/faster? (Not ROMs, I'll wait with that)
All help appreciated, since I am a noob

quiting apps is easy just click on the exit or x button if available and if there is no exit button or icon just keep on pressing the back keys. As for your gps you can turn it off in the phone settings or if its on android just pull down the notification and there is an options there to turn gps on and off. You can also download task killer to instantly kill running apps though others doesnt recommend it but it is useful in a way.
well gps navigation have usualy EXIT/QUIT button. And if they dont have it, press BACK button (in the Main Menu) few times and it askes you if you really want to quit the navigation or something like that. Navigon has definitelly one of those options.
The back button is The preferred method to quit an applicatiin. You can also use task manager. I am also parted way with my iPhone 4. I am now happy on my heavily mod GS3.

I believe the best way to quit an app is by continuosly pressing the back key until it gets to the home screen, or the app will give a prompt saying "are you sure you would like to quit?"
Otherwise, its just jamming the back button

yeah i usually just use the back button or if there's a menu where i can click quit to make sure
Lol I must be blind. Found the menu now, little button down to the right.
It also worked mashing the back button
Thx everyone!

Anyone get widget locker to work with SGS3?

It runs fine but if I hit the home button, it bypasses the lock screen and just goes to my home screen. The power button works, its just the home button issue. Can anyone share their settings for widget locker or let me know what I'm doing wrong.

I've only been using Widget Locker for a couple of days but try this:
Go to the WidgetLocker app - Press the settings Icon on top right corner - Select Buttons & Inputs - Uncheck Allow Home Button.
See if that works.
I also have a question if anyone can help. How do I get Google now on the Jelly Bean Themed slider. I can get Google Now by setting the app in the unlock screen, but how do I make it look like the stock Google Now app?
Thanks

The slider I talking about is the slider to unlock the phone. You can chose from a list of slider like honeycomb, ICS, Jellybean, Sense, etc. I want it to look like my N7 tablet where if I slide it up, it goes to Google Now. I can still get Google now by adding the shortcut to google search, but I want the icon to look like the stock look. It's kinda hard to explain, sorry.

I think Home helper is for some launcher settings.
If you uncheck Allow Home Button under the Buttons and Inputs, then it should work, however it may be a bug that sometimes causes it not to work. I've noticed that widget locker acts weird if the phone is charging. I have only been using it for a few days so I'm sorry if I wasn't more helpful.

I had the same problem the other day. Particularly after I updated to 4.1.1. The lockscreen would unlock (once awake) by pressing home.
I solved it by using HomeHelper (widgetlocker settings -> advanced -> homehelper).
1) tick the "HomeHelper component" and choose "WL HomeHelper" as the default.
2) tap "HomeHelper's Launcher" and choose your default launcher (Touchwiz, Nova, AWG, Launcher Pro, etc.)
3) Make sure "HomeHelper Block Home" is checked.
4) (Optional) You can also choice "Block Home in other apps" to return to the lockscreen after opening apps from the notification bar or shortcuts.
HomeHelper worked fine for me, but I got the feeling it was slowing down my system a tiny bit. Most notably, the wallpaper would quickly blink every time I hit the home button (what is effectively happening is that the home button activates HomeHelper, that then activates the launcher). It was not a major deal but I personally found it annoying.
However, I may have stumbled upon the culprit behind all this: S-Voice. Once I upgraded to 4.1.1 I turned off the option to activate s-voice through pressing home twice (S-voice -> menu button -> Settings) because I was happy to use Google Now (aka Voice Search) instead. That is when I had the problem with widgetlocker's lock screen unlocking with the home button. After not liking HomeHelper's performance, I reluctantly went back to the default Touchwiz lockscreen (I maintained my custom launcher though, and reset the home button to default to it).
After Google Now failed embarrassingly to call the right people from my contacts list (most of whose names are foreign), I decided to go back to using S-voice. I reactivated the "press home twice" option. However, I still hated the "slide anywhere to unlock" Touchwiz lockscreen, as well as its inability to silence the ringer in one slide (you have to either hold the power button or open the notification bar first). So I went crawling back to widgetlocker for forgiveness. I activated widgetlocker (I did not meddle with the HomeHelper settings assuming those were already set), and later noticed that the lockscreen was not being unlocked with the home button, while the homescreen wallpaper was no longer blinking. I went into the homehelper settings and made sure it was turned off, and also made sure that the home button was by default linked to the custom launcher (not HomeHelper). I confirmed my theory by deactivating S-voice's double-press home option, and the problem above came back.
tl;dr. I theorize that the problem is caused by turning off S-Voice's quick-access option (double-press home). You can also use Widgetlocker's HomeHelper if you don't want to turn S-Voice back on. I hope my experience is not simply coincidence and someone could confirm this theory.
Found this thread because I was having basically the same problem. Widget locker's lock screen would be bypassed coming from sleep by single pressing home (power button from sleep continued to work normally). I could not fix this using any method mentioned here so far, except for enabling S Voice via double tapping home. I emailed the dev and hope it gets fixed, because I'd like to avoid the lag added to the home button by having double tap for S Voice enabled.
Anyone else have an alternate solution?

Oddly enough this fixed it for me too. I had disabled S-Voice yesterday and today noticed that using the home button bypassed Widget locker. I re-enabled S-Voice and all is back to normal. Hopefully the dev will be able to give us an answer soon.
Agh ...I was so excited to get back to WidgetLocker I got used to from my pevious phone, only to find out this little anoying thing. Are there any news, some reply from the dev ?
So I am using widgetlocker, and my home button only wakes to my widgetlocker screen (never see the touchwiz lockscreen). I have s-voice/double-tap disabled.
In widgetlocker settings, under "advanced" I have root checker checked, homehelper component checked, "select system home" is widgetlocker, and "homehelper's launcher" is the launcher I use (nova in my case).
Does that not fix the problem for you all?

Does your launcher blink every time you press home button while in the launcher itself ? If yes, then you know why it does not work for us.

No, these settings don't solve the problem for me. I messed with various combinations of the settings your talking about as well, but no matter what I still bypass the lock screen (and also experience a quick blink every time home is pressed, which would be a secondary concern). I'm also on the latest Cleanrom and use Nova.

Hmm, strange... One more setting I have: do you also have "appear on boot" checked under Behavior? Otherwise I'm stumped as to why it works for me and not you.
As for the quick blink, yeah, I have that too - I assume from widgetlocker being assigned as home, thus registering that before going to nova - but I hit home so rarely that I barely notice it.

Yeah have that checked too. Must be some setting slightly different somewhere though. Not that big of a deal, I've just been living with the slight lag on home press and sounds like otherwise I'd have to get used to the quick blink.
Btw never got a response from the developer so that's kind of disappointing..
It's working for me but I get the annoying flicker when hitting the home button as well. It's a drag for sure. Go Launcher is my launcher. Shoulda did my homework before paying for this one. Love what the lockscreen can do but has issues with the home button for sure

Thank you. It is what i want

Home key results in nothing

Last night, my AT&T HOX discharged completely. I'm thinking it might have reset and went into a constant bootloop, but I'm only guessing. So I plugged up to the charger and let it get charged about 10% before really messing with it. So rebooting the phone led me to a "frozen" screen. At first I thought it was the Picture Password Lockscreen app so I uninstalled it. No change.
I then realized it wasn't a frozen screen (although the slow start up continue after each reboot, but the home key would not function. Menu button will function, so would the back button. Only problem was that despite having the haptic response from the keys, I couldn't get to the home screen. It was just a white screen at and the notification bar at the top. The only way I was able to get a launcher to open was due to the Play Store notification that allowed me to open my ADW launcher from the app list. I installed a home switcher, but still, could not get the home button to work. The hepatic response was back, but it would not yield going directly to ADW as my default launcher, nor select one once I cleared defaults. So I dirty flashed my ROM (Venom XL 3.2.6) and again got the slow start and the inability fort he home key to bring me to the homescreen (or the option to select). I then thought the perhaps it was an issue with the kernel, but still the same thing occurs after flashing the stock kernel. I get the haptic response and the screen does a quick flash. Nothing else.
Has anyone encountered this before or have any idea what controls this function and how to fix it?
From launcher, check your hone button settings, preferences-gesture settings. Check Home key - it should say that it is set to Show home screen. If that doesnt work check to see if in pocket detection is enabled. If it is, try disabling.
