Sorry if i am being thick here but....
... i was thinking of updating my rom to the sensation xe rom from here
when ics comes out will i still be able to update and will it be affect by the xe rom
thanks
Do you mean the official update?
When you use a custom rom you can't get updates from HTC.
oh ok
so i presume that means i need to search out a custom rom with ICS on it.
What i am after is the overclocked processor and the Beats international and still to keep HTC Sense.
Any reccommendations on a good stable ROM?
Thanks

Hey guys,
I have been locking for a stock ROM of the Sensation XE but all I found where custom ROMS based on the XE.
Are there any working stock Sensation XE ROMs? Couldn't find anything with the search function.
1. S-OFF
2. Super CID
3. Flash the XE RUU
You now have a 100% stock XE, albeit with 1.2GHz rather than 1.5GHz

The Sensation and the Sensation do have the same hardware except for the battery right?
Is it possible to clock the Sensation to 1,5GhZ?
Yep, but you need a custom kernel for it

Is there a ROM which is basically stock but has a custom kernel clocked to 1,5 GhZ?
Kind of turning the Sensation into a Sensation XE?
Yep, InsertCoin or Android Revolution HD (not the Sense 3.5 versions)
OR, my stock XE ROM + the recommended kernel

flash EddyOS stock xe Rom then just flash a different kernel over it. You cannot I don't think have pure stock and custom kernel.

Hi guys,
first of all: i am using currently Android Revolution HD 4.1.9 on my HTC Sensation.
but, i am tired of flashing custom roms and looking for the "best" rom.
Now, i guess i want backt to Stock Rom. With flashing Eddies Rom is it possible to receive OTA's in the future (because of coming ICS).
Thx for short reply...

Look the thing is, as soon as any hint of ICS ROM test or official gets leaked, I guarantee that within 2 days there will be custom ROM's so best stick to non stock for now.
To answer your question, no I don't think it possible to receive OTA updates on EddyOS

Ok MrAngry ;-) yes i know when ICS is released the wolves will come out of the cave and produce a custom rom

Yes, with a rooted phone you can install custom a Kernel or Rom.
Download and install ROMmanager. This will allow you to install Clockworkrecovery. Once that is installed you can download your choice of Kernel - I can personally recommend Bricked or Faux kernels - found elsewhere here on xda. Save the downloaded file to your sd card and select the Install ROM from SD card option in ROM manager.
NOTE: Before you install this, make a NAND backup - you will get prompted by Rom manager - this will allow you to restore back to your current position if you experience any problems or are unhappy with the update.

FS61 post 13 stock sensation le rom from europe, works great in stuttgart, just left there.
Ok guys, I've got the HTC Sensation z710e rooted running sense-o-maniac (all credit to amazing V6-Maniac!) and I was just wondering. When the official ICS update comes out to the UK for my phone will I have to do a factory reset to be able to download it or something because in the Rom there is (quite obviously) no option to search for updates from HTC. Any Info??? really want ICS
You'll need to wait for the officially released RUU files to become available.
Or if you want it now, flash new firmware and install ARHD6.0.3, with the new 1.73ghz kernel - it's fantastic.

U can try InsertCoin 4.3.2 too...

I have an HTC sensation for tmobile I just recently got it and noticed it was already rooted and it seems to be running great but I'm afraid of flashing another Rom on it all I want to know tho is will I be able to get the ics updated even tho its rooted??

You'll want to flash a modified ICS rom instead of waiting months for a carrier update. You might get OTA updates if you're stock rom + rooted, but if it's a custom rom, you won't.
Seriously though, don't wait for your carrier to update your phone, they'll add their **** to it and ruin it.
Yeah I'm just gonna wait for a good stable ics Rom then flash it I never like waiting is there any u recomend?

ARHD 6.0: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14192842&postcount=4
ARHD 3.6.13 is a Gingerbread ROM compared to 6.0 which is an ICS ROM.
ICS Senseless ROM
I really love the Virtuous Inquisition ROM. It is an ICS based ROM without Sense and has the appearance and features of pure ICS.
You can find it here.
It is very stable and has great battery life.
I was wondering will I eventually have to update the firmware if I want to move to ICS in the future? Or is this just something we have to do in these early beta builds?
Its just on my G2 I could flash an ICS ROM just like flashing a gingerbread ROM, and I dont really see why with the sensation its so different...
Thanks
If you want ics on your phone you have to update. If you wait for an ota update HTC will update it for you. That's how HTC works.. ics needs more stuff to boot than gb.. it's easy though to update

Well if your talking about a stock ics, it's much harder to get it ported and done. That's why devs just wait for a leaked update from HTC for our phones specifically. I'm sure after HTC fully releases our final stable(ISH) ics update devs will be able to use that and make a more stable (and BETTER) rom then what HTC has to offer. be patient , if your a true sensation fan than you'll love it once it's here. (hopefully lol)

Moved from a Desire S to Sensation XE.
Now I am not a newbie when it comes to roms etc as I had ICS on my Desire and S-off etc etc.
Was wondering if its beneficial to s-off and install recovery etc?
Or is there an OTA ICS update?
Not switched on yet, still charging out of box.
o2 UK stock.
There is an ICS OTA but it's only for certain countries ATM. Seeing as you're on O2 they might take a little longer to release it with their customizations.
Rooting would be beneficial if you want ICS now IMO.

There's a plenty based on the official release that's rolling out to come countries in XE and non-XE flavours, you can flash either.
Ok, just to update.
Done the following...
1 s-off
2 installed recovery
3 rooted
4 super cid
Can i just go ahead and put roms on the root of sd card now and do same as with desire s ?
if you are planning to flash ICS based rom , you need to flash a proper firmware first
