Its pretty easy, but follow the instructions WELL.

I'm looking to root my phone, it's a Galaxy S2, but I'm so confused, I see like 3 different Galaxy S2 phones so ughh idk!
Under about phone:
The model number is: SPH-D710
The Android Version is: 4.0.4
Baseband Version: S710.10.S.FF18
Kernel Version: 3.0.15-SPH-D710.FF18-CL663858 [email protected] #3
Build Number: IMM761.FF18
Hardware Version: D710.10
It's on Sprint, on the back it says Galaxy S II. Like I looked up this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7pWjmKCsoc But his build number is TOTALLY different than mine. He also has another version for a different build number, but that build number is also very different.
Can anyone appoint me to the correct Galaxy S 2 thread for my phone, or a video for rooting? Thanks!
If its on Sprint, and its a Galaxy S2, then it is the Samsung Epic 4G Touch

check the second post.
If you are on the stock ROM, you would have to flash a custom recovery first. After that you can directly flash CM10.1, no need for any intermediate steps

Hello, let my introduce you to my dilema. I am quite new to this and I would like to ask what to do. I have rooted my Galaxy S2 GT i9100 with Odin in order to install Neat ROM 2 years ago. Now i would like to install TWRP and LineageOS which my friend recommended to me. How does it work? Should I install TWRP over odin? Because it looks like I already have some kind of recovery installed with Neat ROM (Apolo by pedestre - it is written in the recovery mode) And then it should be easy to wipe all data and install LineageOS through TWRP right? Can you please explain to me all these things and how should I proceed. Thank you.
My device:
Samsung Galaxy S2
Model number: GT-I9100
Android version: 4.1.2
Baseband version: I9100XXMS4
Kernel version: 3.0.101-apolo_4.14_Light-gf40153f

Hi,
I want to root my Galaxy S6 using CF-Auto-Root.
Unfortunately my model (SM-G9200) on Android 7.0 does not have my build available in CF-Auto-Root.
I wanted to ask, can I root my model with an older build of 6.0.1? The page states:
"To be clear, just because you have a newer Android version than listed here, does NOT mean the CF-Auto-Root will not work - there's a good chance that it will!"
Is it safe to try and use an older build?
If I try and it doesn't work, will the process fail gracefully without any damage to my phone, or will I brick my phone?
What if I try to use an android 7.0 build of another model with the same board and platform?
I'm a noob at rooting, so I'm not sure why I gotta root a specific build, as long as I have the same chipset as other S6 devices with different builds?
I'd be very happy if someone knows the answers to the questions above - I'm terrified of trying these stuff and bricking my phone.
Last thing - if I cannot use any of the methods above, can someone please ask to add support for my current build & model in the CF-Auto-Root thread?
Unfortunately, as I am a noob here, I cannot post in that thread by myself.
My devicedetails:
Device: Galaxy S6 (China Dual Sim - Hong Kong)
Model: SM-G9200
Android version: 7.0
Build number: NRD90M.G9200ZHU2EQE1
Any help will be much appreciated!
Thanks
