O2X or G2X ROM on R? - Samsung Galaxy R i9103

Has anyone tried flashing the R with a G2X or O2X ROM? Do you think it'll work? I may give it a try based on how many people want to know.

oh you got to be kidding me!! this is too easy here. I was going to tell you to flash one of those miui but I was once like you. THE ONLY ROMS AVAILABLE FOR THE INFUSE ARE; INFUSED BY GTG465x, REFUSE BY H8RIFT AND BIONIX BY NOPCODEX90!!!!!!!!! IF you flash any other rom your device will explode.
Where is my close thread button?

isnt that for the i9000? rom manager shows us the i9000 roms because we use cwm for the i9000. stick to roms you see on the forum, we dont have a aosp kernel yet. it isnt imposible to run miui on a tw kernel, the fascinate had a rom like this but it wasnt fully functional.

Psst, it was a joke, hence the recommendation to download Ultimate Unbrick first. gtg knows better
re: MIUI Rom
None of the ROMS in Rom Manager Download option is for our phones except for the GTG465x entry where you will find the Infused 1.5.2 custom rom.
I have NO idea why all those other roms even show up in our phones......
(Samsung Infuse)
It is very strange.... When I had the Samsung Captivate and I check the download roms section in Rom Manager ALL the roms there were for the Samsung Captivate.. I wish who ever is in charge of Rom Manager or the DEVS would fix the error.
let's make petition for MIUI rom
Who are you gonna make a petition against ? Look , first we have to complete CM7 then we can have MIUI. I personally think it looks like a retarted nintendo DS or something but thats me. Im almost done CM7 and when I get a hold of rz950, gtg and h8 we will have it, I assure you. Patience. I had to wait so long for any custom roms with my other phones, you spoiled brats should consider your self lucky.

Flashing with rom manager

Will flashing a rom from rom manager work with the t959v? I use it all the time with the vibrant 3g, just curious about the 4g!

ok let me reprhase that yes u can use rom manger but no it doesnt work lol but it will run lol and will cause 10000x more issues then just using cwm final by krylon or honk /krylons cwm built directly into the kernel
Yeah I've read that in other threads. Still kind of confused on the whole process, but I still have alot more reading before I start rooting and flashing roms on the vibrant 4g.

Everyone is saying dont use it.... but what is the reason besides the fact that it doesnt work? Is anyone working on a fix? Does Koush just need to update it??

Perhaps this is too good to be true. I suggest not to try it and especially the poster mentioned to use ROM Manager which our device is still not supported and may result a brick if used (correct me if I'm wrong)

Well some one has to take the risk and try flashing it or the other option is let a developer have a look at the room and then he will Decide

that´s the matter I also have ...
I don't see the point of android 3.1 on our device atm...
Honeycomb was made keeping tablets in mind, and batery life wasn't given priority over performance and stability...and most honeycomb apps take a two-panelled approach, for which our screen size is too less...so I think it is a bad idea...
Plus, I find the site a LITTLE un-trusty...and I couldn't find the links myself...
So I say, don't take the risk, coz u may hard brick your device...
Well as a.Cid said no use as 4.0 is ported to mini

Maybe. I heard though you can use a modded cm7 somehow. Except its hard.
no kernel = dead in the water
Ha well for noob builders like me can use this to our advantage if we ever get a kernel.

Dman,
ICS is great and it has potential on our infuse. Don't get me wrong, I love the work you do but I am very sure that with ICS/some glimpse of hope, shown to the masses here at the infuse forums will uplift some people and stop at least some, nagging.

Exactly lol. I know ics is not all that special, its just the theme, launcher, and framework have been made to look very cool. This method is just so us noobs can try it if the kernel ever is avail.

You're right, your ported roms are much better than ICS.
Multitasking alone is enough reason to get ics, you don't have to belittle it just because we have no developers working on it

From my understanding after reading a few post, there's now access to the drivers for ics which means stable custom roms don't take my word for it that's wat I think. Lol

Actually some Guy on the o2x forums flashed it and it didn't boot ( of course) but he said that there is a new LG logo though so at least this is a real ics leak

That's correct as I said o2x forums, and it has been confirmed by someone else. They knew that it was for the su 660 they only wanted to see if it would boot and the got a new logo but lost CWM so they nvflashed and restored a nand backup. I guess they wanted to see if it was legit and are now patiently waiting on the devs

Check out Tonyp's statement on the "leak" thread. This is some incredible news for us G2X owners who were abandoned by good ole Lg. IMO this phone is the one to have right now because once they unleash the hardware on this mofo, it's game on!! LOL I'm super stoked right now if ya can't tell

Some excitement on this front. But I'm with that dude who has the signature LG NEVER AGAIN.
Still, I'm hoping for something, til then I still got CM7 to kick around.
This is for SU990,korean optimus 2x. it seems to be an internal testing build. due to the extensive structural changes vs gingerbread without kernel source the leak basically means jack squat for P990/P999 (also is pretty useless for CM10 for SU990 on that note)
Linux kernel development isn't my strong suit so I'm sure something will come from this leak though. I have faith in our devs.
