Bootloop roms - HTC Sensation

Anyone have the slightest clue as to why when I load up a custom ROM all it does is go into a bootloop? I tried elglicas and vritious both with the same result. I've set my cid and flashed my ROM...

If they are the latest ICS ROMs you need a firmware upgrade also - or else the ROM will bootloop on load....read the instructions, etc in the ROMs post very carefully...

I meant I had flashed the firmware not the ROM but I had tried the lastest version of both englica and vritious

Where can I get a clockwork flashable zip?
Swyped from USA Tmobile Sensation
I would also like this for my stock rooted 2.3.4 s-off odex rom.
Anybody any idea?
Won't happen on an odexed ROM. Better off flashing a custom ROM

In my sgs days this was also quoted then all of a sudden was proved wrong! It is now readily available for that device on a stock rooted odex rom.
I haven't a clue about these things unfortunately.

How to install the 1.45 RUU

I want to install the new 1.45 RUU because I heard that it has some optimizations that we don't get from installing roms. How do it do that? Is it something that can be flashed from clockworkmod? Do I have to undo revolutionary and S-off? Please if someone could walk me through it, I will be grateful. I'm sorry, I realize this is a noob question.

Just run the ruu that's what I did. U can flash cwm recovery again after

what optimizations are you talking about? i read this somewhere as well and asked many times on here what the difference between a ruu and a rom based on ota was and i finally got the dev baadnewz to reply and he said there is no difference??? now im confused again

So you stay s-off after you ran the RUU? And after reflashing cwm recovery, everything went back to normal?

To go back to stock rom, you need a so called RUU file, which is an .exe file to be run from Windows with phone connected.

Sensation keeps bootloopin!

Hello all, got my HTC Sensation few hours ago! and im already stuck on a bootloop D: lol
So I found out it was hboot 1.18 (still had gingerbread), so I used the root method included in an AIO program.
Everything went fine, I'm s-off'd with 4ext recovery.
Then I wanted to do the superCID thing, but I flashed latest 3.33 universal firmware full from joaquinf thread first, and it never booted correctly, it restarted on the bootanimation always. So I tried flashing a the 100% stock deodexed rom of mike1986 and it also bootlooped.
So I came here to ask, cuz idk what to do now.
Thanks!
Once you upgrade the firmware file you need to DELETE the pg58img file off the root of your sd card or it will continue to update over and over when you go into bootloader. After you updated your firmware did you delete the file? Hope this helps.

Yes, I deleted the file with my computer. The thing is that im always stuck at the bootanimation and it restarts.
Are you trying a gingerbread rom with that fw? If so that's your problem and flash a ics rom and your done.
If that doesent work try flashing something like cm9/10 or touch cream.

[Q] A pending update to your boot partition has been detected - 4EXT

Good day to All,
I Need Help.
Intro,
My Phone is Sensation 4G S-Off, HBoot 1.27.110, Firmware 3.33 Universal.
Rom being Used is ViperS 1.41.
What Happened,
I was flashing a different kernel (that I used before multiple times) and my problem started,
The Problem,
The Phone starts, HTC Logo (behind a white background) and after less than a minute it shuts down.
I can access 4EXT Recovery normally after seeing a notification message stating ("A pending update to your boot partition has been detected") and after I click through it I can access 4EXT normally.
What did I do,
Tried flashing multiple kernels, Multiple Roms, restored Multiple Backups and still the same thing. HTC Logo and it shuts down, and if the phone is plugged in to the power it will keep boot looping.
I would highly appreciate some input as I can't use my phone what so ever.

Try running an RUU
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e using xda premium
Same setup as OP
S-off' hboot- 1.27
After flashing a kernel, and selecting reboot now, a message appeared about pending update detected. After reboot, will not pass HTC logo.
I've tried different kernel, roms, and backups, and still nothing.
This happened after flashing Sultan-kernel rc4 1512ghz. My phone booted before at higher ghz so I don't believe that's the issue.
Edit: Flashed different ruu, now hboot 1.29 s-off, still same issue.
Thanks for any help possible.

I'm using 4ext. The problem started after i received the prompt for pending update for booting (smart flash). When I boot into recovery I have to disable smart flash even though I'm s-off.

yeah i saw your posts in 4ext recovery thread
glad for you man:good:
Whenever I had this problem happen to me I flashed the boot.img file from the ROM I was using through fastboot then everything worked. Might save you some time next time something like this happens (happened to me a lot when I was S-on using 4ext) because you won't have to wipe everything and reinstall your ROM.
