I bought my Note 3 weeks ago in Asia and the skype video works there perfectly fine. Now, Im back in Italy and use my Skype ver 2.6.0.95 with my Note N7000DXKL2 Kernel version 2.6.35.7-N7000DXLA1-CL886914 [email protected]#2 and the skype video is NOT functioning anymore. Is there something to do with the regions & privacy? I already install/uninstall many times and still not functioning. Any help?
you using wifi or data connection ?
this should be in the Q&A section not themes
My first guess is APN setting from your carrier, is the same issue in Wifi mode?

Since I installed Skype on my Note, it always is on speaker phone at the start of a call.
I don't know if anyone else has had that issue. I searched the forum and don't see it mentioned. I have tried reinstalling to no avail.
Any suggestions?

There are settings to disable speakers after making a call. Also there are settings to enable Bluetooth to work with Skype.

Will not install on my stock Note. Does this require root?
same
I have the same problem here
I found that bug rather annoying too. I ended up using GrooveIP and my Google voice. I got GrooveIp for free in one of Amazon's give aways.
The current Skype app runs pretty well on the ICS roms. No speaker bug anyway. Skype works on Milka's, Stunner and I think I tried it on CM9 too. So I guess when the the official ICS comes out, Skype should be working.
For the past couple of weeks I've been forwarding my Sprint Calls to my Skype # and answering them on my Note running my unlimited ipad sim. It's a little quirky and I have to get use to the 1 second delay but it works.
Whatsapp suddenly stopped working on cellular, haven't tried wifi . It was working fine a few hours ago.
I've reinstalled, installed an old version, rebooted several times, wiped both cache and dalvik cache, and even flashed the latest version of CM10 10-20120908-NIGHTLY-maguro.
Whatsapp is the only app that isn't working, every other app is connecting normal, even push notification is working.
I'm thinking it could have something to do with whatsapp servers themselves? or my carrier?
Help is much appreciated guys
Edit: I tethered an iPhone with my data connection and whatsapp worked fine, so it appears to be not carrier related.
Update: Tons of people have been submitting bad reviews with the same problem on the Play Store since yesterday, about the same time it started.
Same Problem
i have samsung s 2 and it was working yesterday on 3g and not on wifi
today i woke up and it is not working att all not on wifi or 3g
i reflashed many rom gingerbread and ics same problem
i deleted whatsapp and wiped his data same problem
i think it is from the company itself
hope is get fixed soon

Hi guys I've got a problem that I can't seem to find a solution for I guess it has something to do with the specifics of my phone.
I've got an LG P920 3D Optimus running Android version 2.3.5 with a Kernel of 2.6.35.7 (BN GRJ90).
Everything was working fine but then I updated Viber to a newer version and it still worked ok right until the first time I ran Viber after that whenever I made a regular call I could hear everything but people on the other end couldn't hear me. It didn't help to switch off the phone or kill Viber in the application manager. The only thing that helped was uninstalling Viber and it started working even without restarting the phone.
I'm guessing Viber is somehow hijacking the microphone. I've tried reinstalling Viber multiple times but I guess there hasn't been an update to fix the problem.
Anyone have any ideas how to fix this because I now can't use Viber and it's inconvenient.
Thanks for the help and best regards.
Well there was an update for Viber recently and I installed it again. But the same problem happened. Viber worked fine and the first phone call I received via regular cell service worked great but the second regular call I received the microphone didn't work anymore.
Any ideas on how to get around this problem?
Best regards.
Hello,
I have the same problem. LG P920 (Optimus 3D). Android 2.2.2, Default ROM.
Installed Viber for the first time 4 days ago. Version of 3 December.
Skype and Viber works fine,
but in regular call listener can`t hear me on the other side, but I can hear him well.
And the same thing, that the first call in regular line also work great and people hear me.
And then somehow randomly 20th-30th regular call is also ok, but after that my microphone
is like broken.
I believe it`s not android or firmware issue.
Most problems I read about Viber on forums - is that microphone doesnt work in this software - Viber.
And I didn find any info about our problem.
I have no idea what is it, but if I find I`ll let know.
Did u connected to Viber support?
They replyed?
Good luck!
Viber support replied that my version of android (2.2.2) is not supported.
Must be 2.2.3.
And thats all.
So that would that mine should work fine since I have an Android than 2.2.3?
No I haven't contacted them. How did you do that?
Thanks for the input.
I completed this form:

lol
They replied very quick, just in 2 hours.
I dont think that problem in android version 2.2.2.
Maybe i will try to install old version of Viber (3.0).

Hi koji-lik,
The reason can be in lg sound drivers or something like that or viber will not support p920 at all.
Could you tell what version of Android u installed and what ROM?
Did you wrote to viber tech support?
Thank you!

Problem Solution of Viber mic hijacking
Hi All ,
i've got a same problem through a month ago and i finally got solution but first you should know the following facts :
1- When i faced this problem i sent my LG P920 to warranty office and after two weeks i received my mobile with new motherboard because they think its a motherboard problem so they replace my old one with new one but it's appear that it's not the solution because after one day when i setup viber on my mobile after first call the problem back to surface again and the viber hijacking mic again so its not a hardware problem
2- When you do factory reset or new software for mobile that's appear problem still there so it's not a mobile software problem
3- There is no official ICS for mobile till now so don't listen to people who's say that update to ICS because there is no official ICS for it and also it's not a solution and also ICS on lg p920 have slow responsive at all
and after some trails i find the solution and am try it and mobile and viber works fine with all performance and mic works correctly in both
the solution is :
1- uninstall the viber u have on your mobile from app manager
2- after uninstall viber pull out the battery for 5 sec. and put it again and power on mobile
3 - download this version of viber on your mobile and install it , here is the link of viber version
( http://www.4shared.com/android/VHN25e96/viber.htm )
4- open google play and from it's setting close auto update for ap
5- do not update viber to any new version if you get notification for update
Congratulations now your viber and mobile works fine without any problems or mic hijacking
Conclusion : the mic hijacking problem is a newer version of viber problem so you should use an older version of viber (link at step 3 )thats all so if you need the newer version of viber u have to wait till this problem may solve in the coming version
Waiting your reply after do it
Thanks to All

Thank you this did it. I will not update Viber since I don't need the exact newest version and it works. It's a solution.
Thank you again. :good:
My antivirus found that link suspicious.
But thank you anyway, i found and download viber 3.1.1.15 from secure place
and everything works fine now.
I dont think that viber will support p920 at all in future.
So, old viber version 3 is the only sollution i think.
Best regards.

Do not install the version of vibe as advised in the last post it is not what it is meant to be. It does not install but it causes more problems with your phone
Basically I just purchased this LG G2 (D801) and out of the box I noticed the audio wasn't in sync for any games I have (I'm using worms as my test) and netflix while the youtube app is fine. Any of the games I've tested the audio is out of sync and I have quite a few from the humble bundles.
I rooted my phone yesterday thanks to one of the senior members who posted instructions for rooting 4.4.2 (since my phone came updated). I ended up installing the latest stable Cyanogenmod which is 10.2 (4.3). The audio issues still persist. I also have a friend with a sprint version of the phone and he also has this audio issue now - his phone updated to 4.4.2 yesterday, I don't know what it was prior. He is not rooted and had no desire to root but now since Sprint pushed out this update he is also looking for a solution.
Has anyone else experienced this and/or have a possible solution to this issue?
Thanks!
I guess more to add:
My friend got back to me and his wife has a G2 that is on 4.2.2 still (which is what he came from) and she also has this audio sync issue. He says his streaming Plex videos are fine even up to 1080p while other applications (like netflix or games) are out of sync.
I have the same issue. Netflix sound lags a fraction of a second so the lips do not match the sound I hear from the speaker. It's not a speed issue - my other phone ZTE Awe works fine with Netflix streaming over the same WiFi network with the same speeds. My phone is the ATT model (D800).
Hi everyone,
So I've been using voip.ms as my phone service for a few years now, and the native SIP client on Android has always worked like a charm on my previous phones (Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexuis 5X).
I just got a Samsung Galaxy S7 G930F, and it seems like the native SIP client is broken and not working properly.
I got to configure the SIP settings by following this guide, but it seems like I cannot get outoing calls to work (incoming calls work perfectly).
Whenever I make a call, I cannot use the volume controls (stuck at max volume), and when the other party answers my call, they hear a loud strident machine sound, but they cannot hear me at all. I can hear them, but the sound is really choppy.
I've tried factory resetting the phone, I've also tried using the Google Dialer, but the problem persists.
Normal calls work just fine, so it seems like this has something to do with the SIP stack.
My questions to you guys are, has anyone had success in using the native Android SIP client on their Samsung Galaxy S7 phone? Has anyone experienced the same issue?
I'm now using Zoiper for making VOIP calls, but its implementation of Bluetooth car controls is broken. That's one of the reasons I liked the Android native SIP client so much: it worked perfectly out of the box on my previous Nexus phones.
Thank you.
same problem here, with the addition that the noise also occurs on incoming calls, thus making the internal SIP client useless. It was working fine on my S5mini (an otherwise crippled phone), and I have the exact same setup on the S7. I tested safe mode and uninstalling a call recorder app, but to no avail.
Samsung, I bought your premium phone, so get this fixed!

Same problem on my S7. CSipSimple works but without the native client integration I cannot use BT.
Im using Canadian Exynos if that makes a difference. Anyone who has tried the Nougat beta, does it fix it?

I have 7.0 (stock rom) on my A320FL (Galaxy A3 2017) and i'm still having this exact problem with the native SIP client I hope they fix it on android O or i'll have to wait for a custom rom to be released ;-;
s8 active choppy sip sound
Incoming calls are working but outgoing have choppy sound. I tried different codecs on freepbx side but still the same. Any updates for better sound quality?
for whatever reason (one of the last updates?), internet calling now works on Samsung Galaxy S7, Android 7.0, G930FXXU2DRA9.
updated to Android 8.0 today. VoIP connections not usable anymore. After installing "Galaxy SIP Accounts" I can again edit the connections and send and receive calls, but the connection is completely silent - not even the cracking noise I had for a while with Android 7 before it magically disappeared.
Any ideas what to do?

It works fine on S7 & Oreo with my provider (odorik.cz). Already did a few calls without any issues.
one day later after installing Zoiper but not changing any phone or network settings, the native client is working again... quite strange behavior...
SOLVED - Problems with VOIP Client
hi there,
since this thread helped / enlightened me, i thought i contribute some observations of mine.
Used hardware: Samsung Galaxy S7
Aprox. one and a half year ago i started with VOIP and of course as a newbie i did it with apps like Zoiper IAX or CSip Simple, but never was really happy to have to use an extra app for phone calls.
While later i discovered the both apps "Galaxy SIP accounts" and "Galaxy SIP settings" in an article, downloaded them from playstore, setup them in a minute and was totally happy.
Was glad that i could remove those other apps then.
Because my S7 starts to loosen its display now, i got myself another one and because i now knew that those two Galaxy SIP apps worked perfectly i installed them from the start being extremely disappointed about echoes and heavily distorted sound.
Then read this thread and thought i'd give it a try (because couldn't get the built-in client work properly anyway) and installed zoiper, did my phone call and everything worked smoothely.
Then i remembered that on the former phone i had external apps installed before as well.
So to me it seems that, at least on the S7 with Nougat/Oreo those external apps change something and make the hidden client work properly which can then be utilized with the two Galaxy SIP apps.
Now i have deinstalled zoiper but the VOIP client still works fine !
Hope my story gives useful information to someone as well
