Depends if you want to have two batteries in your pocket or one IMO. I'd go for the external battery personally. Looks sleeker and can be used with other devices with a micro usb port, like a blutooth headset.
Actually I got the black external one for emergencies. It has a cord stashed in it already so that's big plus there. I was looking at the usb rechargable ones around xmas time and it cost about 70bux USD.

Well, I'd prefer carrying less and not have wires. So I'd go with the first choice but if you need the extra power then the external battery would benefit you.
Maybe you should take a look at the Powerskin for the HTC Sensation.

Just bought this one>

It's not possible to be 1mm thin and 5000 ma . Dimensions are not important. I'm charging 2,3 times per day. Hope this clear the things.

Just got my external battery in black. Nice quality and thin like .25 of an inch. 4x2 inches. Nice and compact and can be charged by usb or microusb, which is cool! and the external battery came with an usb charging cable with a micro usb adapter but if you have a usb to usb, you can use that as well.

Music dock

Hi
Does anybody know of a music dock with speaker and amplifier to play music?
There is several avalibel for the iPhone but i can't finde any for the DHD :-(
I'd also like any information on this too. I've missed a great music dock since my W800i.
It amazes me that there is such a huge selection of iPod docks yet I do not know of one single mini USB dock - wtf?

Yeah. Sometimes it's just easier to go with the flow! In the sense that if a music dock was a deal-breaker then best get an iPod/iPhone as there're plenty of alternatives.
Though you can get Bluetooth ones or ones with a 3.5mm aux input which would work. Depends whether you want to charge at the same time. It'd be nice to.
Dave
PS: don't ask me for links as I've seen them whilst *surfing* the web but not book-marked them as I'm not after one myself!
Any news about this ? I'm interested of buying one 'music dock'. Anyone found something?

Maybe something like this ... http://www.gromaudio.com/store/accessories/cable-c-ipd2jk.html ... will allow you to use ipod stuff? Not tried one myself though.
Dave
Why not just buy a pair of PC speakers?
I cant really see what docking would add extra feature-wise. Unless you can simulate the buttons from the headphones.
PC speakers? Hardly a great way to listen to music from our DHD's.
A dock I am after will hold the DHD, charge it & play music from it.

It will still be a hellovalot better than the builtin speaker
Edit: Are you looking for something portable? That you keep on your lap? My 10 year old Creative Inspire 440 4.1 speaker set is small and makes a crap load of noise.
I'm after something that would sit happily on a sideboard or table, and not look out of place.
I ideally want the DHD equivalent of the B&W Zeppelin iPod HiFi system. I can dream....
If we can't find a complete set, I think a simple dock with 3.5mm out it will be good ... with a good set of speakers.
I run a 3.5mm to L+R RCA cable to a NAD Amp, running to 2 floor standing 300w Speakers and I can tells you ... I certainly get better sound than any of the iPod docks get!
Spare charger runs right next to it on a phone stand thing and I'm sorted.
I posted the adaptor cable earlier but that was only for interest. On my office desk I have a Celjel stand and connect a mains charger and an amp to my DHD. The amp is connected to my PC as well but I use an amp so that I can use decent speakers ....
In the living room where my main stereo is I was going to get one of these ... http://www.amazon.co.uk/QED-uPLAY-WIRELESS-BLUETOOTH-RECEIVER/dp/B003BF0OF2/ref=pd_sim_sbs_ce_6 ... sounds expensive but it gets great reviews. So then the DHD gets played through my floor standing Mission speakers .. . All I need on top of that is a cheap fleabay charging stand for it to sit on the stereo stand. Sorted!
Dave
I know this is a slightly old thread but wondering if anyone has found a good music dock? I am after a small portable music dock, preferably one which charges the DHD at the same time, but would settle for a decent one with just 3.5mm connector.
Any recommendations?
I love it when old, but still useful, threads get revived.
Sadly I could not find a dock that I liked. So I made my own from a chunk of timber, a male to male 3.5mm jack and my wifes old SGS charger.
It took about 5 hours to get it right and sanded down, finished with a coat of teak oil.
I roughly followed this guide, but its set about 4-5mm into the wood leaning back and has a smaller back board.
Perfect bank holiday weekend project!
I wish you could just buy something like this http://www.talkandroid.com/guides/ipod-dock-adapter-for-motorola-droidmilestone/ instead of having to make it yourself

Although its a bit inconvenient, i plug my charger in and my logitech z2300s. Absolutely amazing sound with srs turned on.

Thanks. Are there any other ones that look "better"
Also whats this I hear about OEM dock charging thru some other means rather than the usb pin?
Yes, If you look at the bottom of your N1, you see those golden pins. These are used to charge the device with the OEM dock. I have it on my nightstand and I love it. I should add a stereo to my bedroom so I can also stream music with it.

Compared to my G1 dock, and the wife's Captivate dock, I've got to say that the "connectorless" charging on the HTC dock is just awesome. Yes, the dock is pricey, but being able to (literally) drop the phone on the dock rather than carefully seat it is really great. Need to grab the phone, no "hold the dock with one hand and pull the phone with the other"...just grab the phone.
There are complaints about the phone vibrating in the dock and losing connection, but that hasn't happened to me, and the benefits of docking with the gold pins is huge IMHO. I strongly encourage the OP to consider the HTC dock (unless there's a 3rd party dock that uses those pins, but I don't think there is).
Spend the extra money and go for the HTC OEM Dock. You won't regret it!

Totally agreed...
I have recently purchased the desktop dock and its well worth the extra money because of blue-tooth connectivity. FYI This works whether the phone is docked or not.
What ok really dislike about the dock is that as soon as you remove the phone from the stand it will interrupt the bluetooth connection and switch sound back from the hifi to the phones lousy loudspeakers. Even if you just pick it up to read iure were a text. When you drop it again the phone turns on bluetooth again and tries to reconnect with the dock which takes about 40 second in total. And totally unnecessary! As far as I understand when I take the phone from the dock not the dock but the phone turns off its bluetooth therefor it's only a question of cellphone implementation. But I haven't found a tweak yet that changes the phones dock settings. If anyone has ideas on how to solve this inconvenience i4 be glad to hear them. But beside that the dock I is stylish and useful...

Why can't anyone make a 5-6000 mAH fast charging Type-C battery pack. All of the ones so far are not even close to be pocketable.

I am a large man. Skinny jeans would never, nor will have ever been a thing for me.
Thanks for the heads up on this. Just in time for my trip to Japan after Xmas. Almoat pulled trigger on the RavPower one but now its no longer listed on amazon lol
Looks good thanks for the headsup
just got this today. seems very nice and it shows "charging rapidly" .. its not the smallest or most compact but still pocketable. Height is shorter than the 6P, thicker of course. Glad monoprice released this just in time for my trip!
just an update on this .. I used on trip to Japan/Korea recently and while it worked fine, it doesn't seem to last as long as it should for 10,000mAh pack. Specs shows that it should be able to charge my 6P at least 2 times but after a single charge (not even from dead phone, I usually charge phone at around 20-25%), the battery would go from 4 bars to 1 bars.

I'm a full-time college student, and given the already massive amount of items I need to carry daily a huge power bank isn't ideal. I always have a Type-C charger for emergencies and some cables. I had the RavPower which was less than ideal to lug around all day on my already cramped Thule backpack. I would love to see a 5-6K slim Type-C power bank.

Docking/Charging Station

Anyone bought any docks for there Z5 im looking at a few and cant decide which one to get at the minute im leaning more towards this one but i think its the funky widget thats drawing me to it lol.

Hey there, have been using this site for awhile but decided to register to answer your question as a first post haha
I've been looking for a good dock for the Z5 as well since I've used the Z3 with its magnetic charging dock... which was really nice.
Currently I'm using a charging dock from Devilcase, they make great aluminum bumpers for the Xperia line as well! (I am not affiliated with them in anyway)
Just google Devildock or the sort and you'll be able to find it.
It is a bit costly, but it's definitely high quality and supports QC2.0 (or whatever charging cable you use actually! Since you can "mod" the charging dock")
I got one here locally for $3 and this thing works well + looks great on my desk!
Hope that helps!
Mine got something like this link. Work just like a charm. Got it from ebay about 7 bucks.
You could pull footer component to make phone-stand wider. It will make this stand compatible with my Z5+case.

Compact 40W Supercharger

The 40W supercharge adapter that comes with the phone is quite large and bulky. I'd like to find something smaller that is easier to carry around.
Also, does anyone know of a car charger that supports the 40W supercharge?
Large and bulky!? The one I've got is like slightly larger than the small iPhone charger, which is very bad.

Apple chargers have always been huge.
My old QC3.0 charger is 20x35x55mm
My huwwei charger is 50x35x60.
So more than double the size.
Ofcourse the huawei can put out more power
