ALright guys, Ive looked everywhere for an answer for this and after hours of working on installing vritious inqusition, I cant get the roms .zip to show up on my sd card to install it in the recovery. Ive did everything up to this point (root, update firmware, ect) now for some reason I just cant get that .zip file to show up. Can anyone please tell me what im doing wrong or maybe a soulition!? I like hitting that thanks button!!
Did you download it directly to your phone or pc? How are you looking for it? If you downloaded directly to your phone, browse your downloads using a file explorer, I use Root Explorer, once you locate the .zip copy and paste it to your ad card.

Might be an sd card error, something to do with the larger file, the rom won't show up in recovery? Are you selecting install rom from sd in recovery? Are you in recovery?
Cwm or 4ext?

make sure you are copying the .zip straight to your phone, unpacked. It should show up in clockwork mod.
Now as its booting up, it keeps switching from the V to white HTC screen, is this normal or is it in a bootloop!? Cause I read somewhere initial boot time will be 6-10 mins but its looking scary : /

The md5 checksum basically is a string of numbers and letters, it's like a fingerprint, if the download gets corrupt then the number won't match. Look in the OP where you downloaded the ROM it should have the md5 listed. There's an app in the market you can use to check if it's correct.

First of all sorry if this is in the wrong section, tried to post in the section i was reading but stated i was not allowed due to me being a new member or something similar.
I have managed to root my sensation using revolutionary and have clockworkmod recovery v4.0.1.5 with orange and white writing.
I downloaded the zip file from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195974 and placed into the sd card.
I went into recovery and chosen install zip from sdcard selected the zip file and everything went fine. However the phone booted up and just gives me a blank black screen while the 4 menu button lights are glowing. I press the power button and the lights go off.
What did i do wrong or have i bricked my device?
what you downloaded was a theme for the rom if you already have it installed.
boot back into recovery(power off voldown+power) factory reset, and flash this:
http://hotfile.com/dl/127201376/fdb5f53/CoreDroid_Sensation_V2.1_RV.zip.html
you should be fine. you should just have a soft brick something that is easily fixable with a new flash.
Redownload a rom. And flash through clockwork

Isn't the recovery with the orange writing the one with the problem where it doesn't charge when the phone is off?
The recovery with the blue text is the fixed one.

I had that one at first..but then Rom Manager made me update it...I haven't experienced that issue with the Orange recovery I'm using. maybe because my phone is always on and I charge 3 batteries on external chargers and swap them out.
How can I get the blue one back?

So my phone is in hboot... it's s-off for sure.. I have flashed many roms and whatnot with no issues. So I reboot my phone today, and it boots to hboot screen.
I've tried to get it to go past but nada. It checks for SD card then i can't select recovery or anything..
Also I thought I got an ATT stock img, was just going to try to redo it or whatnot, put that on roo, and it gets stuck parsing..
Any help would be appriciated.
Also... It's almost like the volume down is stuck on, because it seems to function and then won't let me move after it scans for SD IMG.
Did it just reboot into hboot on its own or did you put a pd98img on it and now it is stuck?
Sent from my Inspire 4G using xda premium
If you have an image on card do the following. Take out sd. Boot into hboot. Scroll down to recovery but don't press. Put sd back in and then select recovery. If there is a pd98img it won't let you do anything except flash the image. If its corrupt than it won't do anything.
Always remove pd98img from card after using. Hboot menu is inaccessible with a pd98img on sd card.
Sent from my Inspire 4G using xda premium
Took SD card out.. Still booting to that hboot ya know with the fastboot, recovery, simlock, ect.
Can't move on the menu once booted.
And it got stuck on htc sense. Basically pulled battery then my phone had a bad day.
Like gizmoe said pd98img file will cause like 90% of boot loop
Or if you have a card reader just use that to delete the pd98 file
Sent from my Inspire 4G using xda premium
So my phone won't boot even with the SD card not in it... and it happened before I put that img on the root.
You've got to have an IMG on there. Find a way to delete it and you'll be good.

Did you try putting card back in before moving through hboot menu? Just leave it out while entering hboot and it will skip the file check and then put sd back in. Then try to make a selection.

Powered up with no SD, then put SD after file skip. Still can't select recovery or reboot or anything. ...
so I signed up for ATT warranty replacement..... hoping they don't notice the s-off lmao!
Why don't you just get a SD reader, delete the IMG and move on? AT&T will notice the S-Off and won't fix it. The Service Center will.

They will definitely notice and will not honor your warranty. Sounds like hboot became corrupt somehow. If you have a card reader you could try using genepooles s-on tool. You might still be able to run a pd98img. That way you will be s-on and can send it in.

thanks I'll try it... any of you know a good download for factory img? and If i get that I'll try the s-on.

so I'm still playing with it... It looks like it gets stuck on parsing, then I can hit down to cancel, but thatssss about it.
so I fixed it... the method for this fix is quite complex but it worked for me.
1. Got an otterbox.
2. Enclosed phone in otterbox.
3. Got really ticked off and threw the phone at the wall.
4. Now it's working .
Really I think the issue was with the volume down key, and me chunking the phone must have rattled something right.. If only I could get duct tape involved somewhere this would truely be a legit fix.
Also thanks the people that replied really did reach out to help.. Cheers mates!
quick reply on this.. so the volume key is still a factor in this thing... Due to this I my phone is booting in a "Safe Mode" so I'm going to see what options I have to put it in an S-ON and install AT&T stock rom,,, doing this I would hope the engineers that diagnose the phones won't see the previous root.
So if anyone has any suggestions while I navigate the boards for a s-on / AT&T stock rom let me know...
Only hiccup I might meet is actually getting the img zip to load to actually flash the device,, I'm thinking the S-ON is the most important thing however.
Here is a link to a pd98img to put on sd card that will do the unroot process. It's your best bet. s on pd98img

Using this guide
My Sensation XE is S-OFF now.
HBoot version 1.27.1100
(PICTURE)
It went wrong at step 2: install recovery
After it went wrong I have installed a lot of other different versions and eventually I have 4ext recovery on it.
And it's also possible to get into that recovery (PICTURE)
I was also able to root my phone, but it still doesn't boot
My computer does make a sound like he detects my HTC, but I'm not able to detect it using ADB (adb devices)
Bootloop: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pAFHLHP_sw
After you did firmware upgrade you need to flash ICS ROM, 1.27 h boot will bootloop with GB ROMS. Download an ICS ROM to your pc, check MD5, then power off phone and remove battery and sd card, insert your sd card in card reader on your pc, now delete the PM58IMG file from your sd card and place the ROM on your sd card, also download superwipe script from Mike's thread and place that on your card as well. Next safely remove sd card from pc and put it back in your phone, replace battery, boot into recovery, flash superwipe, then flash the ROM, reboot phone and you should be good.

Dafuq, I only had flashed the recovery, not a ROM yet..
If you're not a noob, you could also have told me just something like Rhiannon224 did..
I have custom recovery, the rom has no included keyboard and I cannot get into market place to download one considering I just got the phone and it has no way to input google information to download from market -_-
any help here please? got work in 3 hours and need working phone.. =/
also where can I download adb files for the sensation?
The ADB files are included in the Android SDK. And you can go to the play store on your pc and download a keyboard from there. It will be downloaded to your phone. This is a very basic one.
i mean the files that I put in the adb folder so I can access it.. I have seperate adb files for kindle fire, dell streak 5, and now this puppy.. i just dont have the actual files to use ADB with it.. -_- no help i guess
im trying to install Virtuous Inquisition but i put it on my sd card and booted into recovery, wiped all the stuff that it said too flash the rom and it loaded up the V logo but restarts back to the HTC logo 45 seconds later.. not sure if I missed flashing the right firm ware or something.. Im not sure which firm ware for this phone is right.. need help ..
nevermind i found the adb files.. now to figure out what my SID is.. so i can flash the right firmware..
3.32 is ics firmware hope this helps

agreed. this is by far the easiest way to fix this issue. no adb required. just borrow someone elses phone, or anything capable of internet access and go to the play market, login in and then download the app in the link above. it will be automatically pushed to your device. then go into the keyboard settings and select it. you may need to reboot for it to take affect. and why does the rom have no keyboard???

Is it still under AT&T warranty? is it just stuck at the HTC boot screen? What android version were they on when this happened?
Thanks guys. I'm so sorry for my 'noob' Ness, what is a 'ruu'? I'm downloading that file now, it's an exe file, do I just put that on the sd card?
