Dolphin HD autohide tabs? - General Questions and Answers

Opening Dolphin HD begins to load my homepage (Google) and seemingly after its done it then auto hides the tabs bar. Does anyone know how to disable this? (auto hiding the tabs bar)

..........

I don't have my phone on me to try, but isn't it just in the settings?

if its there I haven't found it yet.

I'll have a look when I get home.

Cool Thanks. The reason why I care is because there is a delay in hiding the tabs. It causes me to accidentally select something lower on the screen than I entend to often. Because it will delay, and I won't be thinking and I'll go to select the textbox on the google home page for example. Just as I'm selecting it Dolphin autohides the tabs (Which causes the whole screen to move up), and I end up accidentally selecting "Restaurants, Coffee. or Bars". Really annoying after about the 1000th time it happens.

Well either I imagined it or they've removed the option, cos I can't find it either. I think you're gonna have to get in touch with the developers and ask them.

Any solution? I have the same irritating behavior. Haven't found a way to disable yet!

[Q] Thread creation

I can't seem to create threads? Not here note other sites. Also this includes new posts. Also having lots or errors with the xda app for android it won't let me login sometimes nor post.
And web errors occur a fair bit when trying to view pages.
Mainly with threads the blue bar moves about 1.5cm then stops.
Any ideas? (sent from trusty speedy iPhone)

There are some post count restrictions in some forums, but you seem to be past that.
I'd say check that you are actually logged in when you surf.

[Q] Spb shell 3d Launcher

So I got a hd2 android (MDJ_GingerBread_HD2_v.1.0_RC5_RAM_STOCK) and I found this launcher(I did not buy it, i found it on the internet). I installed it I couldn't open it. The only way you could have opened it is by clicking the home button and selecting it. Everything was running smoothly until I shut down my phone. When I turned it back on my original 'ADW launcher' appeared instead. And now I cant go back to spb shell. But it is installed. Any ideas on how to get it back??
Ps: 1st post sorry for the roughness
People on this forum generally look down on installing pirated versions of apps. Since this is a developer forum we tend to try to support other devs as much as possible. The only advice I can give you is to buy the app on the market, as I'm sure that will solve your problems.
Don't think the problem is related to the pirated version... Just install Home Switcher from Market, it's free, it lets you choose between your installed Launchers. Had the same problem with Launcher Pro...

Buy it moron. Then you can get developer support instead of the outdated error and malware infested copy you probrobly have. If you don't waant to buy it don't use it.

[Q] "Searching has been disabled." whyyyyyyyyyyyyy?????

"Searching has been disabled." it says to me on this forum....
Why can't I search?? Is this only for my account or is it site wide??????
It's not limited to your user account, it's a site-wide issue. See a few threads further down in this subforum, or in About xda-developers.com.
XDA Admins are aware of the issue and working to resolve it.
I just tried the search and it's working for me...
Try it now and see if it works for you.
Still down for me =/ o well I'll just use the dread search bar
To me also it's disabled? Anything to do from my side?
I too am having this issue. It happens every time I click on advanced search or try to view my posts from my profile page. I can still use the thread search feature and the search bar in the xdadevelopers bar though.
Yeah I have tried mutliple browsers and can't search either no matter how I try.
Search Under Maintenance (Please Read)
If you would have checked the time on my post, you would see that I posted that before the announcement was up.
But yes, thank you for being the master of the obvious now.
So are the "search before posting" trolls out of a job?

[Q] XDA homepage is looking weird.

Hi, I have been getting this 'weird look' for the XDA-developer (dot) com homepage. I tried both (the latest stable) chrome and (latest stable) firefox. It has been like this for about a week now. All other pages (portal, forum, wiki, etc) look normal but just the homepage is seemingly broken.
The moment I signed up to answer the question, the homepage is back to normal now. It is now back to normal on firefox too.
What freakish sorcery is this? My intention with this query is more of curiosity. Why does this happen? It is also happening with the dell.com (worldwide) website. What is technically (possibly) going wrong behind the scenes here?
Thanks in advance. :good:
I have the same issue. I don't know about Firefox, but on chrome you just have to click the shield icon in the address bar and click on whatever option comes up there (I can't remember exactly what it says but it should be fairly obvious) and it should sort refresh the page in the correct layout. Annoyingly, AFAIK you're going to have to do this every time you visit the portal.

I haven't been getting this issue, but I've seen it before.
I'm not a web developer, but maybe CSS style information not loading correctly ?
When I get this issue, refreshing the page usually works for me. I get it when our connection lags, too - and doesn't load everything (er, I think that's what's going on, anyway).
That fixed the error!

Thanks! That fixed the error. Wow! So its cause Chrome detects xda-dev homepage having 'insecure content'. I hope xda site admins do something about this soon cause its super annoying!

+1, I think it may be something to do with one of the plugins I have installed, since on another laptop on chrome there seems to be no issue.
Excellent Suggestion!

You were right. Its being caused by the 'HTTPS Everywhere' extension. When I disable, it, the page loads correctly. I had that installed on my firefox too. I hope XDA soon moves their complete website to HTTPS. The extension doesn't seem to have any settings where I can acknowledge an exception.

Of course, I have the same plugin installed I CBA to disable/uninstall it right now, but at least I know what's causing the issue.
Chrome+XDA Forum - Weird look
Since a couple of days I have the forum being displayed as following in Chrome:
In Firefox everything is as usual.

Your forum is unreadable

Can you do something with your forum front page?
I have adlblock installed and even with the adblock, this is how your front page looks like.
And you are asking people to disable their adblocks?

Maybe it's your browser that causes the problem? You didn't mention which one on which device you use. Xda has also a forum app without adds but you know, adds are required since the forum isn't a paid one and servers aren't free these days
not having this issue. what's your browser?
Yeah, the forum is kinda hard to navigate around (at least for me), but that's pretty bad. Can you try to do it in the app?
