UOT Kitchen (working?) - Samsung Galaxy Tab Plus

just for the heck of it, I went to UOT kitchen, (which I have before and they all failed to build) uploaded stock framework-res.apk and systemui.apk and cooked a battery mod with % and it says successful in pickup list. Not going to flash at the moment, even with a nandroid backup because Im deep into my game GT Racing Academy ( level 35!! ) and dont want to screw anything up.
If someone wants to take one for the team here to confirm. I recommend making a nandroid first and trying a battery % mod.
hope this helps the theming guys. cheers!
edit: looks like updater script uses busybox to mount /system
so busybox must be installed Im assuming, which usually is, when your're rooted.

Here is what it does to the status bar lol! Gotta figure out why it does this.

However touching the clock to pull up quick settings, the battery looks great, But silly because its a percent in the battery and percent right beside it. If I myself or Chris can figure out why the images are so small then we can roll with this. I'll do some investigation over the next few days. Hopefully get a battery mod going on.

if it is this size in the framework-res.apk before even installed, then UOT is obviously giving us ldpi images. Try with uploading twframework-res.apk although I dont expect that to change it. If its just the image sizes, I guess we could live with that. We would just have to find a set at correct size and manually overwrite them.
but I think we should be able to find a real fix for this.

I agree, re-sizing them would be a PITA, however managable lol.
I'll compare the battery mods from the 10.1 and such to see if the images are smaller and or bigger. Atleast now the XML's are there, so now its just figuring out the images.

resizing to larger size would lose big time quality. better to just overwrite/replace current ones with correct/larger size icons from some other .apk

Yea I'm going to compare and see, There are so many places where the battery images are...grrrr.

Woo! Figured it out. My tab is charging then I'm going to make sure. But it looks good in my opinion.
Crappy thing about the 7+ is all the images are squished into the bottom unlike the 10.1 and 8.9. So all the battery images were 38x38. A simple comparison to stock battery images revealed they were 16x32.
So I resized 204 images(took me an hour) to make it work. Just pushed the framework to my tab and looking good so far. I'll grab a screen shot once it charges a little.

excellent. there must be a workaround, at least a program to batch resize. I've resized hundreds of icons before. Bu Im sure not everone wants to do it.
now watch all the custom battery reqeusts start rolling in..
heres a link to a batch image resizer I found on xda...
http://imageresizer.codeplex.com/documentation
and another I foud on google..
http://www.glorylogic.com/image_tuner.html

The image resizer worked, only problem is the actual image is only probably 14x30, with a huge border around it. making is 38x38. The resizer just makes it smaller, like it is in the picture above. It doesnt crop the images to remove the border. Sadly.

ahh I see. damn this could be trouble.

And the bad part is what ever battery image you want to put there has to be a 16x32 image. Otherwise it will looked messed up. So honestly the only types you can put are vertical ones.

Its kind of a little bit hard to see. Lol but ill get used to it. Really don't have any other options lol

FYI Photoshop can do batch actions.
You can "record" an action - start recording, mod one image, save and close it, then end recording - and then run that action on an entire folder of images.
So you could get the resize and crop in there.

Wish I would have known that! Lol

StarfieldModded LiveWallpaper

it works, but not perfectly. The background needs to be made tileable.
Things I had to do
1) uninstall the old apk.
adb uninstall -d com.kalicinscy.wallpaper.starfield
2) sign and then install this one.
adb install -r StarfieldLeopard.apk
3) enable "Background" in LWP settings.
Screenshot and apk attached.
edit: removed attachments.
thanks got it, when i have that working i will let you know. in the mean time can you check what happens if you put the full wallpaper in the assests/texture folder? maybe the width measurements i made on the first one was not adequate. Unless the exact measurements are coded in followed by making the image tilable. If that is the case, i will put some effort in to making a tilable version of the wall.
It might get really slow though!
the file has to be renamed to starfield_04.png
I used the gimp's filters->map->make seamless tool and it helped a lot.
Its not perfect. Added a bluish version too.
edit: removed attachments.
thats awesome mate, i am a newbie here but already feeling good that senior guys are helping us out! You think you can recode the black stars to white though?
One final request bro,
>here<
is the final image i made using your gimp concept, it worked out well with a slight touch from ps cs4 , could you use this and attach the final apk for me.
Thanks
Below is a new colored icon aswell for the new starfieldlep edition!
All Done! ^Check the first post!! ^
can I check the source for problems?
really cool, i like this new bg than the original.
question, why are some star streaks black instead of white?
Are you finished working on this apk? I mean wallpaper.. The pictures are absolutely stunning. I dont have a N1 yet (42 more days till I do) and I could see this being a full-time wallpaper when I do get one.
I like this Live Wallpaper, but sometimes the app is closed with an error
is there any way that i can get the source so that i can work on errors in it?
Sorry guys for the late reply, but thanks, @samir5421 i downloaded the apk by googling as i have not rooted the n1, if you have a rooted version i am sure you can download the updated apk (starfield) from the market and fix the errors :S
I think the version I have downloaded was a pretty old build compared to the one that is up on the market right now. I am attaching the files I made changes to aswell as the original apk.
@cdmove, I am not actually any good with this, I am just a graphics designer and so i wish someone could get into the guts of this and change the black streaks to white as I have no knowledge on how to edit android resources yet.

yup and also the stars start of as black [blending into the original bg(b/w)], and move to white, which actually makes sense as or else there would be too many white dots on the screen popping up at the same time, but if its possible to change the gradient from black to white to white to white we could judge it for ourselves.
any fix yet on the fc's? i really like how this looks!
stars with background really slow. maybe you can change the star's background color instead of use an image.

[Boot Animation] Android Scribble (optimized for incredible)

Original creation by Gla'DOS:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=696193
Please use one of many instructions to push this boot animation to your phone.
Unzip the android_audio.zip and push the mp3 file.
Leave bootanimation.zip alone and push that file.
All credit goes to Gla'DOS, I only resized the images and added the audio. This runs smooth on my incredible, stock speeds UV.

Wanna post a download link?
Sorry guys, attachments didn't work. OP updated with links.
Thanks! This looks pretty good. I think all the Droid "eye" animations are pretty annoying.
I installed without the sound, because I like my boot animations silent as well.
sicky gnar gnar boot animation. i''m assuming you have to root your phone for this to work right?

Nope, all you need is a working SDK install, no root needed (you are pushing files onto non-protected parts of the file system). You can still foul up your phone, but would highly rare if you follow one of the many guides recommended by the OP.

cool beans. thanks for the help!
I downloaded SDK at the developers site. In the packages section it includes a bunch of stuff pertaining to 2.2. I don't want to download those correct?
It wouldn't harm/cause problems as far as using ADB, but you don't need them, so save that room for pr0n... because as everyone knows, Android is for porn!
Call me immature, but this video always makes me laugh =).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IraQfhlMwi4
What does it mean by PUSH item in SDK?
Works great, thanks a lot!
Flashable version
I could not get the animations to stick using adb, so I found a flashable boot animation and replaced the ani with the scribble ani.
Just flash in recovery. Works great!
Flare version here.
No audio on either. You can get that from first post.
(I take no credit for the animation or flashable files. I just put them together)
Maybe a red scribble instead of the green? Possible? Appreciate it if so.

Yeah should be easy pickings (what the hell, why did I type that?!). I need to wake up and drive to PA in a couple hours anyway, so this will give me something to do, thx!
Edit: Here you go, I hope this is what you were looking for. Even though I picked a colour I thought was red (I extracted a colour out of jonnybueno's Red Sense Theme), it turned out looking a bit orange on my screen. I am editing this on my personal laptop (which is not colour optimized, the hardware to do so is currently in storage as I make the move back to college), so if you'd like a different colour, just give me HEX code or provide an image you would like the colour of red to be extracted from. Take a look at the animation first though, maybe it's only orange-y on my screen.
Well...
I had nothing to do (besides watch Adult Swim) until daylight broke and I hit the road so I made a second attempt. It's better but it's still not where I would like it to be. Also I am noticing that the 2nd batch of images (the one that repeats) seems to be a shade darker than the intro images. Here is a comparison of the first "orange-y" images and the second, slightly less "orange-y" images. I'm going to leave it as-is for now. When I return tonight, if anyone has requested the exact colour of red they would like (like said before, in hex format or an image I can lift the colour from).
First Attempt:
Second Attempt:
Off I go! bb tonight, have a good week all! - DBG
I've made a red version of this but it has a spinning circle indicator!
I take no credit for it, I modifed it from the post here
Flash it with a recovery manager. Enjoy!

[REQUEST] Black wallpaper with green android alien

Hey everyone, after literally a couple hours of searching i've been unable to find what im looking for. A pure black wallpaper with the little green android alien in the middle. A small one not a big one that shows up on all screens of my phone. I've found plenty CLOSE to what I want but they always have some grey/white in them. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
If you link me the ones you want, I can tweak them and/or remove those lines.
cheers
This one is probably the most ideal I could find right now. I was unable to locate all the ones I had come across because a) it was done over the past few days on my phone and computer, and b) because some of them were located inside of apps from the market.
And thanks for your help, I really do appreciate it. I'm sure I could figure it out myself, but I have only ms paint, and I'm sure someone with some basic skills could do this in about 10 minutes.
Thanks again!
Edit- I can't post links as i'm too new to this forum! I Will try to pm you!

what is the problem? what should I do in it?
BTW, a good looking image takes more or about half hour. Or if one is a talent(like my bro), it could take less than 10 mins. muhaha
okay, got it. I'm on it now, just wait a little
Hey sorry for the delay, unfortunately it seems this was a poor wallpaper to provide as the resolution is terrible. Had the resolution not been terrible i would have just wanted the green alien without white fade behind it, instead just solid black. I'll look for another example.
Here's a tweak I did to a 3d Andy original background was brushed metal tweaked it to black and shrinked the android a bit. Another but quick paste job to black background with standard Andy logo.
Wow perfect, the one on the right seems to be what i was looking for. One issue though, I opened the link on my phone, long pressed and set as wallpaper, went to my home screen and I see Z's trollface android homescreen from his freex10 rom looking at me, was kind of funny actually but im not sure how to fix it.
Obviously I should have tried saving it then setting as wallpaper before I posted, as it ended up working. Thanks!

Enjoy 30 new wallpapers for your Transformer. They are all at 1920x1280 and allow for a little room to crop so you can get them displayed exactly how you want them. Widen the crop box as big as it will go for the best resolution once the image is set.
These are just images that caught my eye and look great on the Transformer. I hope you enjoy.

It looks great on the transformers screen.
Here is a site with some nice wallpaper for the Transformer.

Edit: Rewrite
I'll be re uploading a whole new wallpaper pack with the correct resolutions tomorrow. For now here's what you can do.
Download HD Wallpaper Pack 2
Unzip to your download folder,
Go to market and download "Wallpaper Wizardrii"
Install and reboot
When it comes back up all of the wallpapers should now be visible in the gallery. Choose the picture you want and click on the share button in the top right. Wallpaper Wizardrii should now be a choice. Select it.
From there just click on set and set it to scrolling and it'll adjust the images in the wallpaper pack above accordingly.
Let's get them all gathered up in one spot

I made this wallpaper for myself since I got bored of the ones that came with the tablet already. Nothing spectacular, but I thought since I made it, may as well share it. The jpg version is just a preview by the way. Full size version is in the zip.
Hey guys, I'm putting together a website dedicated to mobile wallpapers for various devices that I own.
After searching the internet for a good site, I have yet to find one that meets certain criteria and almost all of them have wallpapers that don't quite live up to expectations:
-them being too big
-them being too small
-them not being quite the right size to accommodate Android's strange "crop" window you receive after selecting a picture you want to use.
I'm aiming to fix that by having wallpapers designed with Android in mind to not only accommodate the crop window, but also allow you to select and use the entire picture.
I'm still in the process of getting everything running smooth, and there's still some performance tweaks, theme settings, and configuration settings that need to be addressed but eventually I'll get there. I also hope to have a mobile version running soon, so that you can access from any Android device.
This site will also allow guests/registered users to upload their own wallpapers and will automatically resize them according to what album you upload them to.
Anyway, check out the sneak peak here: http://www.freeza-inc.com/walls
Copies of my Bee paper.
I have optimised the one with the blue glow bar for Launcher pro plus so that it sits at the top as a dock background, this will not scale properly with the default home/launcher so I have included a couple without it with the bee top, middle and bottom.
If anyone would like the original photoshop .psd file I will look for it and post it - you could then change the text below the bee to read whatever you like.
Still working on the bee skin for launcher pro plus - will post the apk for skinning when finished.
Must put the damn tablet down - getting a condition known as 'Tablet thumbs' I think.

New Simple Flat Style Theme [Root to get rid of trial]

Hi everyone! This is my very first attempt at a theme and personally I found a lack of super simple themes so I decided to create a flat style theme for my device and just wanted to share it.
Along with the theme I have added a wallpaper and it was a picture that I took with the S7 itself a just last night in Downtown Toronto. Hope you guys like it! If I get good input I might try to make more and create advanced themes. The lock screen also has a snow effect kind of to represent the fall time is passing and winter is coming
Thanks goes to:

Please leave a thanks if you liked it, and if you hated it, tell me why so I can improve it
P.S. I didn't change any of the icons, I am looking towards doing that for the next release, IF this gets good feed back
You're right, there aren't many simple themes. Theme store sucks a bit. When it comes to suggestions maybe you can change the tone of blue, make it a bit darker; and background grey a bit lighter. I like how you made the lines in phone app invisible, I hate them. I love the icons the way they are. Also, maybe you can change the yellow message buble.
And I was wondering if you encountered any problems with theme editor because when I render preview pictures some are glitchy.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll be working on those changes then in the morning but I understand why you'd want the blue darker. The background I did kick it down a notch and made it a little off white but I can adjust that too. The yellow message bubble! Shoot forgot about the messaging app, personally I use Textra so I don't normally use the stock app.
As for the theme editor, I have had no problems running it at all actually, I just downloaded it today and it worked right after install. Are you sure your computer is up to date? Or maybe the theme editor needs a dependency like Java? Although it would normally point that out of that was the case. Are you using the one I linked above? It worked fine for me
Anyway, thanks for the feedback!

I don't think themes are rom dependant. Actually I'm not sure if Samsung has support for Android N themes and such but it your device is a Samsung then go ahead and try it, it doesn't hurt to try
