Obtain you CID with this tool. No need of phone, only card reader slot on your PC.
Then find a good tutorial for the next steps (reversing the cid, creating the image and flashing it to the SDcard).
Good luck

Ok guys first of all i have to thank trkaaa for his guide here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21922297&postcount=1
Also have to thank JTNiggle for his guide to get custom recovery after HTCDev Unlock. :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1239821
Also big thanks to the team that created the revolutionary method.
Before we begin im not responsible for anything that goes wrong. You made the choice.
Here is their site: http://revolutionary.io/
I preformed this with a TMOUS Sensation 4g and had a unlocked bootloader with
S-on. Im not sure about other regions
To kick things off if you did the HTCDev unlock method then you probably
have hboot 1.80.0000(or at least i did) with S-on. If so then proceed
1. First get this rom and flash if you dont know how to flash with HTCdev method
then follow JTNiggle's guide.
Rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1201697&highlight=real+stock+experience
2. After flashing that rom boot normally. Now your ready to preform the revolutionary method. Plug in your device and don't forget to get the older
drivers if ur running windows. Older driver can be found here:
http://unrevoked.com/rootwiki/doku.php/public/revolutionary
3. Download the required revolutionary files and run revolutionary as administrator. Then fill out the form thing on the website with your device
information and type in the serial number. (Make sure you type it in correctly)
4. After hitting generate key it will provide you with a key and type that correctly into cmd window. Make sure you type it in correctly its case sensitive.
Then let revolutionary do all the work.
5. Caution: Ur device will reboot into the bootloader a couple times dont worry its normal. After that it will ask if you want to flash clockworkmod you can if u want to( i didn't because i personally wanted to flash 4ext recovery).
6. Enjoy folks u now have s-off on ur device
Hope this works for u guys a it did for me
Thanks u all for ur help i wouldnt have been able to do it without u
if at all possible could u hit the thanks i really want this thread to get on the
android development page but u see im a new user so yeah
Message me if u guys have questions i will try my best to help u guys
Also if anyone has tried this method plz feel free to post below ur results
This can be used if you used the HTCDev unlock method and you wanted to flash the
new firmware to get ICS on your sensation. Furthermore im not sure if this is compatible
with the Sensation XE model.
Here is a mirror for the 2.3.3 rom: Dropbox
Thank you so much
great guide

I don't see how this has fixed you phone.
I installed the rom mentioned, now my phone freezes at the boot screen with the HTC Logo. Which is no problem because I will restore my backup. But isn't getting me any closer to getting me S-OFF, as I still have a HBOOT of 1.27.000 which makes it impossible for me to use revolutionary.io
any ideas?
Alright i think i know ur problem i believe its the way u are flashing the rom. You have to put ur phone under usb debugging mode and use the adb tools to flash the rom. Meaning you cant directly place the rom on the sd card and hold volume down and power to get to recovery.
Use this way of flashing a rom:

Tell me if that works

You have Hboot 1.27 which is one of the Hboot versions thaot comes with a official ICS upgrade. For you to achieve S-off you will have to use Joupunutbear S-off not Revolutionary. You can not downgrade your Hboot version while you are S-on. Go check out this guide and this tool as I think they both will help you, but I recommend using the tool to do the S-off. There is another guide you can use too but it requires you to use HTC Dev unlock first, so I do not recommend it.

Sorry but what you suggested will not work for them unless they are able to flash a unlocked Hboot from here, the instructions to flash ot is also there as well. But still the main problem is they dan not downgrade their Hboot so this would be useless to tem as far as tring to gain S-off.
Thanks a lot im sry im new to this stuff but u deserve a thanks and im glad u helped
EDIT: This worked for me. Thanks a lot
I'm pretty new to rooting phones.
I came across a boot loop screen why trying to install Virtuous Inquisition on my HTC Sensation. Is there a way to get out of this??
I didn't install the required firmware. Is there a way to install it on my phone as it's doing the boot loop? I don't know how to get back to any of the hboot screens or clockwork.

Well, there ya go.
Anyhow, it's an incredibly easy fix.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767
Go there and download the 3.32 firmware that matches your carrier, not 3.24, not 3.12, but 3.32 - it's the newest one. T-Mobile US, go to T-Mobile, Orange, go to Orange/O2, etc etc.
Next, you'll probably need a SD to microSD adapter. Put the 3.32 PG58IMG file on the root of your SD card (that means don't put it in any folders). Now, with the phone powered off, hold volume down and power until a white screen shows up. It'll ask you to update, agree to it using the volume keys. If it says CID Incorrect or something similar, you downloaded the wrong 3.32 firmware - that's not a problem, but you'll need to find the right one for your phone or perform Super-CID in the stickied root guide (Believe it's step 4).
After that update, it might boot, I'm not 100% sure. If it does, great, remove the PG58IMG and continue on your way. If it doesn't, take out your SD card and power the phone the same way you did before, volume down + power. Then, use the volume keys and power to select RECOVERY. Now, put your SD back in and install the rom from either CWM or 4EXT, whichever recovery you have installed (I recommend 4EXT). Now, reboot, and it should boot. If your Recovery doesn't detect the SD card, use the Reboot Recovery option and it'll show up.
If you don't take the SD card out or delete the PG58IMG by means of a card reader or a buddies phone with a file manager such as OI File Manager, you won't be able to boot into the recovery.
That should just about do it. Report back with questions.
After downloading the PG58IMG file, it says CID Incorrect. I then performed the Super-CID from step 4 and installed the ROM through Clockwork, but the phone is still stuck in a bootloop.

After you performed Super CID, you still need to install the PG58IMG.zip file
After that, connect your SD card to the PC and delete the PG58IMG.zip
Then re-install the ROM.
If you did all of these, then it should boot just fine.
it worked. thanks guys!!
Yeah I should have mentioned that Super-CID just allows you to get passed the CID Incorrect error and flash any PG58IMG file you need. My bad.
that's cool. both of yall were a big help
Hi everyone,
My brother has an HTC Sensation XE, he is on a Sense 4.0 custom ROM now (Ordroid) and wants to go back to Gingerbread so that he can take his phone to HTC Service to fix the dust-under-the-screen problem. I've read many other threads, but all threads have something different. Is this the correct way to do it?
1. Get the 1.17 Universal firmware from here.
2. Get the 10.58 RUU from here (or is it 10.56?)
3. Put firmware on SD card.
4. Flash through bootloader, then power off.
5. Remove SD Card, mount in computer, delete firmware and put radio on SD Card.
6. Place SD card in phone, then boot into bootloader, let it flash the radio.
7. But then how would I run the RUU? Because I wouldn't be able to boot because of the ROM and firmware differences, it would go into a bootloop. Or should I run the RUU first, and then flash the radio and firmware?
And somewhere after these, I would use the write secuflag in fastboot to return to S-ON?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Your best bet is to run a RUU.
Look HERE
Then go HERE and remove super CID (if you have it ) and then s-on.
I'd say it's easiest to just take the phone apart and clean the dust, but I'm a tinkerer.
Ok so you've flashed the firmware and radio don't boot it up stay in boatloader and then connect the USB and hit the power button you should see USB fastboot then run the ruu
Sent from my Sensation Z710e using xda premium
Just run the RUU, either GB or ICS if it's available for your specific phone CID etc.
Then S-ON.
Are you unlocked hboot too?
Yes, unlocked HBOOT, SuperCID'd as well. I'll try those. Thanks for everyones replies!
Hi guys and girls,
I got a HTC Sensation off ebay that has been flashed incorrectly and is stuck at the HTC green text boot screen. I have successfully installed CWM but I can't seem to get the right firmware on (I am using 3.32) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1412618 with the stock ICS rom. The firmware says 'parsing PG58IMG' then does nothing.
I would like to use a restore image in CWM, but as the phone arrived without one I am trying to find a ready made image I can use.
- Anyone know where one is available?
Also, I can't do all the usual fastboot stuff becuse I can't enable usb debugging, so just to get it to a usable state with any rom would be great.
Please help!!
Thanks everyone
Alex

1. As you are SON you cant flash a firmware ..you need SOFF for that. Also you are having hboot 1.27 so that means you are already on 3.32 firmware ..so you can skip flashing firmware part
2. As you didnt have any nandroid backup ..start fresh and flash a custom ROM ..for flashing Custom ROM read the next point.
3. As you are SON and have HTC-DEV unlocked bootloader its better to have 4EXT recovery rather than CWM ...as it helps you in the process
Start completely fresh and flash using this guide (tip: follow it to the letter )

Thanks for the reply, but I can't start with the guide because the phone won't connect to the PC for adb access; I cant enable usb debugging because can't access the operating system menu.
All i can do at this stage is load up roms and flashes to the SD card by putting it in a card reader, then running it in phone via recovery. I am a little stuck :/

read the guide again ..whenever steps with adb commands are given ..immediately there will be a next step saying .."if you cant boot the phone then do extra 4 step"
So you can very well do all the steps if you can go to bootloader and has fastboot on your pc (usb debugging is not required either )
Firstly thanks to everyone who give their time to help
My tech skills are useless, all these terms s-off, s-on, roms etc
is above my pay grade, my brain is fried i am jumping from thread to thread
trying to fix my wifi issue and it's driving me dilly.
I am on Android 4.0.3 - Sense 3.6, phone is rooted HTC-Dev and Flashed 4EXT.
I have been trying to fix the WiFi issue but im getting nowhere, i give up.
Can i revert back to Gingerbread?
Is there a step by step guide?
Help Appreciated
Thanks
1st: are you s-on or s.off?
If you are s-off you can extract the rom.zip from the appropriate GB RUU (but you dont tell what is) then rename it PG58IMG. Put in the root of your sd card (not in a folder) and reboot the device while holding down volume+ power button.
PG58IMG willbe automatically recognized and start to do its things. Then you will be prompted if you want to upgrade. Say yes by pushing volume up.
Wait untill the entire process is done and prompted to reboot (it may reboot itself a couple of times during the process, just do nothing and wait).
At the end of process you will be back to GB and need to set the phone like new. You will lose all data and settings.
Hope it helps.
How do i know if i'm S-off or S-on?
Used HTCDev to unlock bootloader then flashed 4EXT and something called
CWM-SuperSU-v0.96?
Thanks
This is the method i used:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1632553
Good day my dear friends,
Boring Intro------
Yesterday I was trying to root my wife's HTC Sensation which I upgraded to Official Middle East ICS 4.0.3 hboot 1.27.000 and I found this way by pure luck-----
I installed CMW and did the rooting while the device is S-ON
I'm not sure if this is a new method or was done before but I thought I'd share it to return some of your favors in this great forum.
I need to thank Mr.hasoon2000 because we will use his tol from the HTC One X forum.
Requirements:
1. Download the HTC One X All-In-One Toolkit V1.0 from this link, Thanks Mr.hasoon2000 I hope you don't mind me using your tool here.
2. Download the latest CMW recovery , choose the latest for Pyramid (The Sensation) in *.img. Here is the CMW 5.8.0.9 link.
3. Download SuperSU 0.88.zip, thanks Mr.Chainfire or from this link [23.04.2012] SuperSU v0.88.
Step By Step Method:
1. Copy the SupperSU.zip file to your SD root.
2. Extract the HTC One X All-In-One Toolkit V1.0 to the Disktop.
3. Connect your Mobile and make sure you're in the charging mood and your check USB development or debugging option.
4. Run the One X.exe application.
5. Install the HTC drivers.
****If you unlocked your Sensation's bootloader from HTCdev.com then skip step 6 ****
6. Register in HTCdev.com website, choose Unlock Bootloader, choose your device and follow the instructions. ~This May Void your Warranty~
7. Rename the CWM recovery to CWM5827, then copy it to HTC One X All-In-One Toolkit folder/Data folder/recoveries and replace the one inside.
8. Flush the CWM recovery using the toolkit, horray you installed CWM.
9. From Commands choose Boot into recovery and from CWM flush the SuperSU.zip.
10. Congratulations, You're Now ROOTED .
Unthick fastboot from your phone (should be under settings-Battery) Then reboot phone while holding volume down + power buttons and read what the bootloader says.
Or pull out and reinsert battery, then power up the phone while holding down volume
remove battery from phone
Remove any memory card installed in phone
put battery back into phone
press volume down..
While pressing volume down
Press power button...
Continue pressing both Until you enter bootloader
You will see white screen, print lots of writing in different colored text, but the top line will say 's-on' or 's-off'

By the way I dont understand why you want to go back to GB. Once you are back you will be prompted to update to ICS again!.
Why dont you run directly a stock ICS RUU and see it it solves your issue?. In case you are S-On that would be the easiest way (the RUU).
If you want to go back to the way the phone was when you first got it, no root or anything, use an RUU
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1672425
That's everything you need to know. Basically run a program in Windows with the phone plugged in and it'll do all the work for you.
OK guys looks like i'm S-ON

No, if you are s-on the easiest way is to run the appropriate RUU.exe (still ICS not GB). But first you need to make some search and detect what is the right RUU for you according to your country, cid and mid.
When you will find it, just download the exe and, plug your phone to the pc and execute the RUU.exe
You cannot go back to GB as you are S-On.
RUU works for either the same software version or up not down.
