Sense 3.5 Gallery - HTC Sensation

I'm using amaze camera and don't like amaze gallery, can someone please upload the stock 3.5 gallery. The link is broken in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1295390

So you've removed the stock gallery ?
Try the APKs in attachments
com.htc.album.apk.zip MD5* 44e1edab6d92a816ab673e8d5bf265b7 * From this rom Android 4.0.3 / HTC Sense 3.6
Or
HTCAlbum.zip MD5* d046e942d1fb8253017d7862e47611f4 * From an Android 4.0.3 / HTC Sense 3.5 ROM

i tried both extracting the apk from the .zip and installing it directly to the phone (which didnt work) and flashing the .zip in recovery and in recovery it says "installation aborted. E: Cant find update script.
i just want the 3.5/3.6 gallery because im running cm10 and i cannot stand the gallery that comes with it.

It wont work on cm since htc apps require sense framework which isnt included in cm and would never be. Maybe try quickpic from google play which is amazing.

[REQ] Sense 3.5 Gallery

Hey guys,
Could anyone possibly port the gallery from Sense 3.5 to be used with Sense 3.0? I want to be able to exclude folders from appearing in my gallery.
Thanks,
Krisbo
Solved: Thanks supraman89 - I was trying to do it while in the wallpaper selector, not while in the actual gallery .
maybe you can use .nomedia just google it.
I believe you can do that with the sense 3.0 gallery as well
While in Gallery where you can see your folders... press menu and click on view, show or something similar. You should then be able to uncheck folders you don't want to see. I've done this in Sense 3.0.

It worked but made the contacts.apk force close. Fix permissions didn't work. I'm using CoreDroid. So I'm just gonna reflash it instead. Didn't feel like a nandroid because the CoreDroid nandroid takes forever.

All HTC phone's come with Sense. You'll need to see if there is a ROM for your rooted phone. Include more detail in your posts, please.
If you have that HTC phone, you must be rooted, and flash custom recovery. Then install from there!

Sense 3.6 camera on Sense 4.0

Is it possible to use Sense 3.6 camera on Sense 4.0?
I am testing OrDroid 1.7.1 and it has Sense 4.0. Everything is working ok for me, but camera is not so good. Focus and some other options are not working.
So I was thinking is there a way to use camera from Sense 3.6 on that ROM?

Not sure if it will work but push HTC's camera apk file to system/app
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using xda premium
I tried that.
Camera starts and it crashes after 1 second.
Does camera require some other files or just camera.apk?

Streaming DLNA Flashable from Stock Rom??

Currently Running Virtuous Inquisition v4.0.2 and I have lost the ability to stream from my phone via DLNA to my Smart TV.
Is this something I can flash over this ROM or is it a feature of only the stock and Sense ROMs?
I really like the feature for sharing my pics from the gallery over WiFi to the TV.
Anyone with any suggestions, I really appreciate it.
Wink
search dlna on market! alot of app
Hi - There are many that stream from ....I want to....
Its a new feature in the STOCK HTC Sensation ROM. but missing in the Virtuous Inquisition v4.0.2 ROM
I can do those things with the HTC gallery so i guess you have to pull out 2 APKs from a Sense ROM (HTCAlbum.apk and maybe HtcDLNAMiddleLayer.apk). Just download any Sense ROM and open the zip, find the two apks mentioned under system/app. Put them in system/app folder in your phone using Root Explorer app and touch and hold the apk and choose permission to set the permission to rw-r-r then reboot. I'm using HyperNonSense (its a sense base rom without HTC Sense) and did something like this to have NetworkLocation. Correct me if i'm wrong, i think VI is also Sense base so it should be ok to put some HTC apps in there...
Hi - I actually tried that before you posted but without success. The HTC Album appears in my drawer but when I open it and select pictures/video/music it FC's
I copied from another ROM as many APKs I could find that looked to be involved in the DLNA proccess
Any more thoughts...Come on lets crack this!
After putting the two apks in system/app folder and setting their permissions, try installing HtcDLNAMiddlelayer.apk like a normal apk... Then reboot...
Dont forget to do a Nandroid back up before all this...

[APP]Sense 4.1 Camera from the One X [08.13.12 Screenshots]

As you probably all heard the rumors about Sense 4.5 and the camera that worked its way through XDA was not completely functional.
HTC announced the One X International android 4.0.4 Sense 4.1 update rolled out. So I googled the Camera and found a flashable zip in the One X forums.
Credits for mod/zip:
ALL CREDIT GOES TO HIM, IM NOT THE ORIGINAL POSTER, JUST RE-POSTING WHAT IVE FOUND.
Disclaimer:
I'm not responsible for what you choose to do with your already rooted device, etc.
The zip won't flash. It will abort installation so just follow the steps below to install:
Screenshots:
Installation Instructions:
1. Download zip HERE (DropBox link)
2. Extract zip contents to SD Card.
3. Backup your original files individually or do a nandroid backup of your system partition.
4. Use Root Explorer (or other type app) to copy all files in zip to proper locations (as shown below
Zip contents:
--- system/app Camera.apk
--- system/etc media_profiles.xml
--- system/lib libhtccamera.so
--- system/lib libOlaEngineNew.so
5. Set all permissions to look like rw-r--r-- (ie. Like every other system file)
6. Change Owner (root explorer option press n hold and scroll to bottom) to root (0) and root (0).
7. Click on camera app once in system app directory and perms and owner are set and actually install the app.
After Install (thing to know, bugs, etc):
- All settings from previous Camera app will be there
- Video recording will work from HD and down. Camera app will close if you try the Full HD setting for video recording.
- Slow Motion video will cause the camera app to close also. Most likely kernel related.
- FFC works fine for me on picture and video...as well as a 0.3 VGA can work. Functionality seems fine.
- Touch Focus reported not working on ViperS ROM.
- Touch to take photo works great for me (on IC Evolution 2.20) and focus is clear for me as well.
Enjoy. I like it, so other may as well.

Well it was posted in the sensation forums so yes. And the OP seems to have tried it so yes.
Sent from my pyramid...
do we have to delete the original camera.apk
does it work on aosp roms?
1. Yes it is compatible with the Sensation on a Sense 4 ROM only. I'm running InsertCoin Evolution 2.20 Final. Works fine.
2. The Camera.apk will overwrite the original. Follow the steps posted to either backup the files individually or use nandroids advanced backup feature to backup the system partition.
3. Idk about AOSP. Its a Sense camera so I guess if the AOSP ROM is based off a Sense 4 base then go ahead and try it and report back.
Like I said, working great for me on Sense 4.0.

Why not do a backup and try it yourself. I'm not on that ROM or switching ROMs but it will install and function on a Sense 4.0 ROM so what have you got to lose?

this camera mod is NOT designed for CM10, it has broken your system probably because a sense camera mod will only work on a sense rom or a sense based rom. You will probably have to reinstall your rom, its advisable to make a nandroid backup of your rom just in case things go wrong so you can revert back
Did I miss something? The screenshots are not showing in the OP for me.

Really nice work bro.
Still have to modify camera script for full functionality.
Overall great work. And also thanx to devs related to original post.
Any idea what it would take to get this working with JB?

Just as a heads up, this won't work on AOSP. I have the hybrid rom (PACman) on my MT4GS, and it could not install. At first, I thought I did the install wrong, but turns out it's because it's not based on a sense rom. Long story short, this won't work on most other roms except those based around the HTC Sense.
Such a shame, if one thing HTC got right, it was the camera app.
Would be nice if anyone could port the camera app and make it flashable, but gotta make do with what there is.

Sense apps require sense framework so a port would be pretty much impossible... No sense only apps will work on AOSP.
